I've been a Todd Rundgren fanatic since seeing him with Nazz in Wildwood, New Jersey back in the late 1960s. They even have a song called Wildwood Blues. Such a huge collection over the years of pop songs, the Philadelphia Sound, and progressive rock. He's produced major artists as well. Quite simply a genius!
PS: This is a faster version of the original Hello It's Me by Nazz which was a slow song. Give it a listen!

Huge Rabbit hole here, brother! There is so much music to get into. Todd is a multi- instrument performer, top end producer, and and accomplished writer for himself and many others. You will no doubt get a ton of requests by your subscribers, enjoy them. But, im going to give you a couple that might be overlooked.... "Black Mariah" and to mix it up a little "Last Ride" where he hooked up with Darryl Hall (of Hall and Oates) at his home in Hawaii. Both songs and performances are years apart and both fabulous for the ears. Enjoy!!!

Todd Rundgren is my favorite musician. "Hello, It's Me' is the first song he ever wrote. He recorded a slower version of it for his first band, Nazz, in the late 1960s but another guy in the band sang it (Todd was the songwriter and guitar player at the time). When he went solo in the early 1970s, Todd re-recorded 'Hello, It's Me' to this version, and also sang lead. This song appeared on his third solo album and was one of his few radio hits. That said, Todd is a musical genius; also a legendary producer. He had a side project, a progressive rock band called Utopia that he did alongside his solo career. I just saw Todd in concert a few months ago, and he is still a fantastic performer at age 76. For a future reaction, I suggest checking out his song 'Fair Warning'. It's one of my favorite Todd lyrics and the r&b vibe to it.

Todd had a few hits but his catalog of music is very deep. He also wrote and produced for other artists.
Late in the song you hear his voice fluctuate, thats his actual emotion as his girlfriend walks out of the studio at the end he leaves to chase after her.

This is the second version of the song , it was originally recorded by Todd with his first band , The Nazz. Original was at a slower tempo compared to this , this is more mid tempo.
