Welcome to Bob Dylan's son. He was born with a true gift. He is also an incredible lyricist. This song even with the true message, is rather comforting. Thank you for sharing this one.

I love Jakob Dylan's voice - I like "Gimme some truth" by John Lennon that he sang with Dhani Harrison too.

Deep, poetic storyteller, just like his dad... but with a dark, dry wit.
    Awesome lyrics.

Wow what a great analysis. I always thought the same thing, that it was about his frustrations with the music industry and how it can stifle creativity. It took me a few listens to get the message but you got it in one. I heard your reaction to Low Spark by Traffic and it's kinda about the same thing. And yeah he always sounded like his Dad, deep and cryptic.

Great song, cool band! My brother-in-law used to work for 10 NBC in NY and got us tickets to the Conan O’Brien show back in 2005. The Wallflowers were the musical guest. Good times! Got a request for “Treat Her Like a Lady” by Cornelius Bros & Sister Rose, released in 71. ✌️

WELL... About Time you got around to this artist/song I requested months ago.(forgot) Yes Jakob sounds just like his father, just as abstract with his lyrics too. Nice choice again.

He’s amazing, and he is definitely Bob Dillon’s kid. His writing is amazing, but his dad was one of the best poets in the 60s. His voice is a blend of his dad and Tom Petty! 💖💖💖read the interview on what the song is about. Jakob, like his dad, is incredibly deep!

I always enjoy imagining the "she" in this song is Lady Liberty, and "I/me" is protest music.

I always kind of took it as the end of an idea or an era not necessarily the music industry, but with where music was in the late 90's it makes sense. It's also similar to how radio changed at the same time with the corporate take over of FM radio. In the 80's 56 companies owned the majority of radio stations in the US, by the early 2000s it was a half dozen or so corporations that owned all the radio stations.

Great reaction to one of my top 10 favorite songs ever! You could do worse for an entire album reaction. It doesn't have a bad song on it.

Oh my! I am going to get crucified for this, but…
I like Bob Dylan’s music by anyone else. I never have liked his voice.
Jakob is the man! I love his voice.

That was a real bonus: thank you very much for having made this great song accessible to me. Apart from that, I can only agree with @RicoCosta317: “Wow, what a great analysis!”
All the very best from Germany
