Your observation is spot-on regarding the brake pedal being too high. It's not ideal for heel-toeing. I am using a throttle pedal spacer by Acuity instruments and that cleans up the spacing really well. Other than that, this is an absolute gem of a hot-hatch! Loving my 2020 CTR :)
The new Civic digital cluster will be a good update for the next gen Type R; hopefully the new generic Civic styling will not tame too much its exterior design. Wish they would finally offer a rear spoiler delete option.
Well done! I was waiting for your take on this Limited Edition Type R. This generation of Type R may be a few years old but this thing still looks STUNNING! I think as the newness of the 11th gen Civic wears off, people will see how bland and boring the Civic has become which I believe will drive them back to the 10th gen Civic and it doesn't hurt that Hondas have a reputation for reliability. For this reason I am doing nothing but maintaining, keeping clean and enjoying my FK8 Type R because it is truly a special car. I also believe this FK8 Limited Edition Type R and the "regular" FK8 Type R if you can call any Type R regular, are going to be future classics and will only increase in value as time goes on. Again, well done and thanks for posting. BTW I also could not get the voice recognition to work in my Type R as well. Voice recognition works perfectly in my Toyota which is the same model year as my Type R so it is definitely an issue with Honda's system. That or I am still not doing something right.

This is the Limited Edition and there’s only 600 coming to the US which is why dealers are marking them up 15-20k more than msrp. You can’t even order the regular Type R and they’re tough to find at msrp cause even those are getting marked up at most dealerships.

after using most of the touch screen systems in vehicles... I Have fallen to love the mazda system in my cx 30.. very easy and simple and voice commands work very well for navigation system while driving,
I like Honda’s. But where is the market for this? Given it looks cool, but it’s only fast when comparing to other front wheel drive cars. So I’ll be paying well over 40k for a civic that’s got a couple more horsepower than the si? They could have at least made it awd, or something to compete with the sti, or evo.

The original Type R never needed a special edition- it was the Type R With all the sound insulation already taken out and a thinner windshield to save weight.... Original Type R’s didn’t even come with air-conditioning I think the civic Type R‘s are great but sad that you have to get a special edition to really get a Type R Great Video!
I keep hearing the suspicion of the Type R LE is ruff like the STI. I will maybe fit it with a new set of wheels and tires 265/R18/40 like I did to my STI it rides fantastic.
Not content with making the Civic Type R look like a life size version of a Hot Wheels toy, Honda is offering a banana colored limited edition. Oh, well. No matter. It's a remarkable automobile. I do my track days on two wheels rather than four so it's not for me but I can't help admiring it even if I'd feel ridiculous driving it. P.S. 66 lbs of downforce from the rear wing, weight it, it probably weighs 50lbs. I've always been like if it doesn't serve a purpose, I don't need it. In today's traffic when would I get a chance to drive this car fast enough for the rear spoiler to actually do some good? Over 124 mph. Most people today don't have the balls to drive that fast anyway. Most of the hot fast cars I see nowdays are driven 15 to 20 mph under the limit and one of the turn signals blinks for 10 minutes. Just think 44,990.00 for a Honda Civic, what other impressive rides could you get for that kind of money?
When you can, do us (Hyundai loyalist) driving enthusiasts a giant favor and test out the Hyundai Elantra N (Avanté in Korea). The full blown two litre turbo version of their compact sedan factory spec to battle the Civic Type R and VW GLI for around 32K.

Yes. It’s a technique to slow the car and simultaneously rev-match a downshift. You can use your heel or the side of your foot depending on pedal placement.
@@tonychau1983 well he touched on the unit not having good navigation and he didn't mention it having carplay support, which is what most people use anyway. So there is good navigation possible with that machine just using carplay/AndroidAuto
A proper Honda Type R didn't arrived before 2017 ??? What are you talking about? The only Honda Type R is the Honda Integra Type R, and not that monstrosity that are any Civic Type R, pleeeeaaaseee! Edit: The break pedal is higher on Honda's because japanese race drivers do heel-toe with the heel on the gas pedal instead of the break pedal. So it is easier with a higher break-pedal for that way of doing it.

The 11th gen won't be that much different since the chassis underpinnings are very similar.

I like the butter smooth transmission but I hope the 11th gen comes with a paddle shift for folks like me who is not very good at manual trans.
Learn, once you do, you'll never touch another automatic trans. Manual transmissions seem to make even the weakest engines come alive with power.

No, it's due to the way it moves air around the vehicle -- preventing a vortex which would cause more drag than the smaller wing itself.
