    This is my first tutorial that I'm watching from you, may I just say thank you for your nice calm tone voice and that you're not rushing through the project. I say this because I am a beginner in a lot of different crafting projects. I am going to subscribe I already hit the like button and left a comment and I would like to say I look forward to going through your tutorials and seeing what I can learn or maybe enhance my project a little better because again I am a beginner and I'm proud to say that. I do have a question and you possibly already have done something like this but I love chalk paint and I've been using cornstarch and it works really well for me as it's just a backdrop color and then I create out of napkins I make them into rice paper and then I Modge Podge them on top and it's beautiful in my eyes. I do apologize for going into a very long story but with me being brand new I figured it would be okay this one time to let you know a little about myself and that's why I went into the pretty good detail in what I like I am a scrapbooker but I also love pretty much everything when it comes to the DIY world. N I just seen that I can hit And subscribe to your email I'm going to do that right now. It would be nice to hear back from you it doesn't have to be on this channel you could just send me an email if you would like did you ever work with cornstarch and paint on possibly small projects as the composition notebooks are my favorite and they turn out great in my eyes so have you done anything like that and if so maybe you can tell me where how far along to go to find it or maybe you haven't I think if you haven't maybe try it and see because I've done the plaster and it it got really do Beyond me and so I don't think my ratios were correct from a different RUclipsr that of course I just type it in and it pops up I'm truly excited to go back in to see what you've done and I look forward to your projects and also again let me know what you think about the paint with and I pick up the Dollar Tree paint also Walmart has the same pain for a dollar you don't get great colors but you know like I said I turn it into the chalk paint let it dry and then I do the rice paper from my napkin, and I will let you know a little bit more about that as it's regarding a business question oh, I'm so excited I love just seeing new people for me the first time and just supporting that way because it takes a lot for anybody to get up and do anything and then edit in all of that so congratulations with your Channel again I don't comment a whole lot of things and also I'm Italian so it's really hard to stop a conversation with me but I enjoy this I love meeting new people this way and learning new craft so thank you again and I'll get on that email list and hopefully I can send you that business question I was going to put on here but that's very unprofessional thank you so much Debbie

      The ⅓ cup of water/pop is equal to 4 tablespoons, so when she used 4 oz. of paint and 2 oz. each of water and pop, it is the same ratio. It got me until I thought about it for a minute.
      I'm anxious to try this. It seems pop would work better than cornstarch only because it is created to be used for industrial use.

    I just bought a 2 metal kettles at a church rummage sale today (saw them in corner on their flyer and wanted it so specifically went for that but got extra)… but I love the pumpkin idea. Also thinking of other things halloween theme now.

    • @lilithleon9288
      @lilithleon9288 Год назад

      Also thank you for color chalk paint. I know neutral is your go to. But I love (LOVE) Halloween. And already have so many idea. But I got a Cricut last Xmas and got myself a new computer pre-xmas for my special BDay present to myself with their coupon. So I’m all crafty. And i found you and I want to do your ink transfer (but I don’t have a printer- and HP computer only subscribes out inkjet printers though I’m not sure if there would any difference between reg name inkjet vs HP thermal inkjet… I’ve been back and forth in it because I originally look at it for stickers. And then your videos suggest laser for best result. Limited funds suck). Sorry for vent.
      Figure I would ask- does your ink transfer method (whether laser or inkjet) seem more small/ United with project compare to HTV (which I know can be used on certain things thus I buy mostly wood and metal so far).
      Also wanted to do some Xmas items (well a lot) due to my uncle and niece both born on Xmas. So that was another reason for wanting to do color chalk paint. And last question: if I did use Cricut- should I seal the chalk paint first. Worry about transfer tape or build in with the HTV damaging paint underneath if that is not an area I want to distress. Like pop in center and distress flare out.

      Chalk paint is very porous so I think whatever service you put it on, you would want to put a topcoat on it

    Can you use a semi-gloss or gloss paint and can you use anything other than plaster of Paris

    • @OurUpcycledLife
      @OurUpcycledLife  2 года назад +2

      Yes you can but it wont have a flat finish. You can use baking soda but it is a bit more grainy

    Could I also add Elmer's glue and get the process of a distressed look done in one step?

    • @OurUpcycledLife
      @OurUpcycledLife  2 года назад

      No that will not give it a distressed like you have to do it in two steps

    What is your painting table? I’ve been looking for something I don’t have to keep covering with plastic

      It is a big metal stand we found at a garage sale quite awhile ago but it makes a perfect painting area! I think it might have been a part washer bin

      It will store for a week or two if it’s in a tightly sealed container but when I’m mixing it, I usually just try to mix only what I’m going to be using for that project
