Can you spray water on your painted project when trying to blend on your piece of furniture. , so wasn’t sure if I could spray with water to blend, also how to make your paint self leveling too? Thank you
Thank you so much for this. I made some chalk paint yesterday and when I opened the container this morning, it had water floating on the top. Shall I tip this away, or stir it in. Many thanks xxx
Sorry to ask suck a basic question, .....but here I go, to make black chalk paint can I add some black acrylic paint to my diy white chalk ? rather than having to buy a can of black latex/emulsion ? Appreciate your time, thanks so much
I buy sherwin williams samples. $8 or less for a quart. Work great for chalk paint. Even just on its own it holds up good especially with topcoat on small stuff like pots ect. I also use calcium carbonate instead of plaster of Paris
Thanks for getting back to me. Have a question. I understand 2 tablespoon plaster of Paris 2 tablespoon warm water but approximately how much of the tester paint. I am a beginner and would like to get it right if possible. Do love your ideas of repurposing old items
In the video you said to use half of the tester paint. It was 8oz so you used approximately 4oz. But in comments you said to use the entire jar 8oz. So will I use 4oz 1/2 jar or 8oz entire jar? Thank you so much!!!
The ⅓ cup of water/pop is equal to 4 tablespoons, so when she used 4 oz. of paint and 2 oz. each of water and pop, it is the same ratio. It got me until I thought about it for a minute. I'm anxious to try this. It seems pop would work better than cornstarch only because it is created to be used for industrial use.
I just bought a 2 metal kettles at a church rummage sale today (saw them in corner on their flyer and wanted it so specifically went for that but got extra)… but I love the pumpkin idea. Also thinking of other things halloween theme now.
Also thank you for color chalk paint. I know neutral is your go to. But I love (LOVE) Halloween. And already have so many idea. But I got a Cricut last Xmas and got myself a new computer pre-xmas for my special BDay present to myself with their coupon. So I’m all crafty. And i found you and I want to do your ink transfer (but I don’t have a printer- and HP computer only subscribes out inkjet printers though I’m not sure if there would any difference between reg name inkjet vs HP thermal inkjet… I’ve been back and forth in it because I originally look at it for stickers. And then your videos suggest laser for best result. Limited funds suck). Sorry for vent. Figure I would ask- does your ink transfer method (whether laser or inkjet) seem more small/ United with project compare to HTV (which I know can be used on certain things thus I buy mostly wood and metal so far). Also wanted to do some Xmas items (well a lot) due to my uncle and niece both born on Xmas. So that was another reason for wanting to do color chalk paint. And last question: if I did use Cricut- should I seal the chalk paint first. Worry about transfer tape or build in with the HTV damaging paint underneath if that is not an area I want to distress. Like pop in center and distress flare out.
What kind of paint is it, for those of us out of US, and not familiar with brands/types of paint? I suppose that paint for walls, metal, wood are sort of different
