We built a shop as well, did the concrete first and then the building on top of it with anchor bolts. I don't know if one or the other is better. But it was easier to distribute the concrete with a massive pumper truck and use the backhoe to set the finisher on it. I don't think I saw any beams , we put 6" thick concrete with 36" beams around the perimeter and every 20' that makes it real strong.
Are you going to finish the inside? That vinyl backed insulation is very fragile. We used to have it exposed in our old shop and you keep poking and burning holes in it. Ideal would be some thin plywood not drywall
Nice! As someone who used to wrench over a literal hole in the ground with railroad ties for a bridge .. I can confirm a shop is a good investment !!
