Even if his charges surrounding human trafficking get dropped, he is still very much involved in organised crime. The only way he'll get anything lighter would be if he grasses, which will no doubt put a bounty on his head.

But they can also refrain from getting a lawyer just like a normal person could try to defend himself if he doesn't want to hire or get assigned an attorney assigned to him/her.

I love it how he just talks about straight up facts rather than opinions because it’s hard to know what to trust when on one hand you have the news and the hater’s saying he is evil, and on the other hand you have him and his supporters (absolutely 0 hate towards them from me as I myself am one of them) saying that he is 100% innocent. It could be “Stop pushing things like transexuality on little kids and let them only make the decision at 18 or above” or “Stop telling kids about it no matter what”, the second of which is of course problematic. Secondly he added that that’s the “real problem” under a post of people assaulting members of the LGBT community which of course sparks a whole other debate regarding which issue is actually more important
It's a phrase commonly parroted by homophobes, generally related to the LGBT grooming conspiracy.
It's used as a political strategy from the far-right. They create moral panic by promoting the false narrative that LGBT people are child groomers/pedophiles, which is used to demonize the LGBT community and broader liberal causes, as well as to deflect from relevant political topics.

Creating an environment where children are safe to explore their identity and, most importantly, where children who are trans are safe to coexist, is a necessity for a happy society. What is often pushed, though, is heteronormativity and cisnormativity.

This whole "leave kids alone" seems confusing. As best I understand it, it's homophobes trying to block out gay stuff from children, which is dumb. You don't see people blocking straight stuff or whatever. It's not like people are promoting porn to children :/

You have it right more or less. It's what's known as a "dog whistle", i.e. a way to signal to a controversial group that you hold their controversial opinion without explicitly stating it. "Dog Whistles" are phrased in a way so the person that says it can plausibly deny what they meant. If you say "wow, that's messed up", people will respond "get your head checked, all he said was to leave kids alone"... but we all know what he _really_ meant.
A good example of one is "State's Rights". It could mean what it says on the tin, but most of the time it's racism.
