GAIN STRENGTH WITHOUT GAINING WEIGHT

  • We all know that getting stronger leads to an increase in performance. But can we gain strength without gaining weight? In fact, this is one of the most common doubts I get on my channel or website.
    Research has shown that more the muscle mass a person has, the higher the force he/she can produce as they have more mass on the ground to push from. In contact sports, your muscle mass is of greater benefit as you have a stronger and wider base to push on the opponent and at the same time you have a better chance to avoid getting knocked off balance.
    At the same time, bigger guys or guys with greater muscle mass are able to produce greater force because they have a got a bigger platform from which a force is generated. The problem is that there are more people out there to criticize bodybuilders and the way they exercise than the ones to understand. Exercises like squats, deadlifts, pull-ups, bar-dips, bench press, cable rows, leg curls, etc from a part of the strength training regime for almost all the sports.

    Sir everytime I start increasing my diet with clean protein based food...I always end up getting belly fat faster than I can manage any muscles..i always hit gym hard with heavy lifts but still extremely slow progress...i can get lean but really not able to gain pure muscles...Addituonally I consume veg protein only.. should I absolutely stop lifting 10 -12 rep sets and stick ton4 reps max kinda set up.

      Focus on your maintenance calories, may be you more increse your calories as compare to your maintain calories so only surplus 200 to 300 kcl

      The problem could be ke aap veg protein le rahe ho to vegetarian protein sources utne lean nahi hote jitne animal protein sources hote hai. To aapke shayad carbs badh jaate ho aur aapki training hypertrophy ko trigger na kar pa rahi ho isliye saari extra calories fat banke store ho rahi ho. Not a perfect answer but a calculated assumption.

      Seen a 3xbodyweight bench press by a wrestler frnd of mine but he was so jacked up on anabolics that his heart size is very large thn normal

      It's depends on how many years or months you give on your training, if it's 1 year than its great progress,, keep pushing

      2x bench is only achievable after 8-10 Years of proper powerlifting training I have 1.45x bench after 4 years of lifting

    well that was good, and i am doing same stuff personally , mean working on power, and explosive without gaining muscles and during this lock down period i am working with a word-class fast bowler, i will not mention his name but Kholi is his fan aswell because of fast pace . so mean to say low rep, high weight and compound is true way.
    we started our squat from 80 kg and now today we lifted 140 kg , same with others weights but we never gain weight , only strength.
    I am from Pakistan.

      Muscle tissue might get damaged if this thing is prolonged...
      So start taking curd atleast
