Now I understand why the Public Defenders complained to the judge about mentioning their children. This father was NOT mentioning any wish for harm to their children. He simply stated that if it were their children they would be angry and want the death penalty as well.

I’m sorry but the Court shouldn’t let witnesses attack the lawyers, even if you and I know they’re trashy.

Mr Schachter knows his facts and has been a guiding light in this whole trial. I wish all the victims can eventually find some kind of peace knowing they advocated so strongly for their loved ones and that we all are behind them in their pain. The defense team was dispicable, Tamara Curtis even more so for giggling and flipping the bird on camera. He is right , it is sickening,

Alex’s Dad spoke the truth! His statement was extremely impactful! I praise these parents for their strength. None of the beautiful victims, and none of these families will ever be forgotten. Their faces, names and words will forever be etched in my mind, heart and prayers.

Yeah it sucks but I don’t think it’s about how many he killed necessarily but who he killed they were high school students he killed so he killed people around his own size bug Adam Lanza in Sandy Hook killed more elementary school kids who would never been able to fight him off.

Personality disorders ARE classified as mental illnesses. That said, mental illness may help to explain why someone committed a crime but it does not EXCUSE it. Those of us with mental illnesses are still responsible for the results of our actions, whether or not it's linked to our illness.
Best victim impact statement to counter the defense lies - and their DISGUSTING actions in the courtroom. Horrifying and childish behavior, that should keep them all out of future courtrooms.

Max testimony/impact statement was Awesome. I watched his testimony several times and I will watch it several more times. I watched him everyday during the trial and it grieved my heart watching him in so much pain, I cried everyday it was very sad and hard to watch. 🙏🏽 to the families.

I find it unbelievable that out of this whole statement, the only thing the defence lawyers picked up was the sentence ‘what if he did this to your children?’, they totally rolled over the facts and truths that were stated, neither did they seem to even notice the absolute agony in every word. Every word was correct and well thought out. I would like this amazing dad and all the other parents, grandparents, siblings and family to know that we heard every word and we felt every bit of agony, we wish them healing and some peace in the future. God bless their children ❤

I can say this if Mr. Schachter ever becomes a lawyer, I would love him on my side. He knows what he is saying he did research and he spoke in a crisp tone. Speaking as a totally blind person who listens to voice tone all the time, of course, I loved the contempt in Max's voice, when he said "today is the anniversary of your mummies death, isn't it?" Fantastic, sir! Not that she died… But then he said it like that to this evil monster. Rest in peace, Linda cruz… You didn't deserve what the defence tried to do to you and your name during trial.

This man is right and he didn't threaten any children. Those lawyers did lie. The defense boss who went up there and complained about what they were going through was out of line. Shut up and take it. Just like Casey Anthony who we all know was guilty, it was because of the rules the judge has to give the jury. Our government makes bad laws.

They are public defenders, they were ordered to represent parkland shooter, they didn't want to represent him but the court ordered it.

@@petapumpkineater7185 I don't think it's a fact that they didn't want to represent him. Just because a court ordered it doesn't mean they didn't want to do. Their behavior showed how they felt about representing him. They could give him a fair representation without the extra ridiculousness that they took part in daily. I have the upmost respect from public defenders, even those defending people who are horrid monsters, but this "team" was vile. The only one who seemed to have any dignity was the skinny guy with glasses. The women in that group behaved like junior high level preteens and literally fawned all over Cruz. It was vile to watch.

I wish the prosecutor could have articulated to the jury as well this man does in his statement. If I was the prosecutor I would have objected to the defences closing- over and over again - especially when she said , " give him what he doesn't deserve" , terrible and objectionable disgusting - the jury is by the very rule of law suppose to give the convicted murderer exactly what he deserved - 17 times over and then some.

I appreciate the parents of the victims who are all standing united to each other. I appreciate the judge, Mrs. Elizabeth Scherer who presided this trail and conducted it pretty well and in a human way by sparing another human life before at least 18 people would have been killed.

If the court had allowed the victims impact statements, I believe this verdict may have been different. Well, maybe not as the one female juror said she didn't believe in the death penalty. I believe this junior lied to the court just to be chosen for this jury. I can't understand why she is not being charged with obstruction. I also believe that it was the dirty tactics of the defense that changed the outcome. I have said it over and over again through this whole trial that in all my years, I've never seen such a disgusting, disrespectful defense team. Just by the behavior of the defense, there should be a mistrial, and he should be tried again. He's not brain-damaged. Some of the chatters in the live streaming committed how Linda Cruz failed him and was a big factor in how evil this monster is. This wasn't her fault she gave him all of the love a child could ever want or need. He has anger issues, and with all of the services he's received in 18 years, nothing was working. Life in prison is given when someone may have a chance to be rehabilitated, and clearly, he will never be. He has shown that by his actions of behavior during the trial about wanting to kill more. If the death penalty isn't for people like him, then I'll ask who it is for? Shame on the defense and that juror. I am just going to close and say one last thing to the defense and the juror.....KARMA IS COMING!
I agree, I feel sorry for his mother who tried so hard to give her children a good upbringing. She never gave up and must have gone through hell over the years. He has the heart of a demon and gets off on others pain and death. He knew what he was doing was wrong. He methodically planned it out. That’s why he wore all black, hid the rifle in a guitar case and got dropped off by an Uber. He wasn’t even allowed on that property. His poor mother lived a lifetime of his abuse. He was given everything including unconditional love by her and even his brother. He’s just a disgusting sicko!
Even though I agree that this guy deserves the death penalty, I am opposed to it on principle. Our system is too imperfect and just one innocent person put to death is enough to shut the whole idea down. Letting him rot in prison with no hope of getting out is enough - and lets be honest, the odds of some “prison justice” coming his way is almost certain.

It's all sad. The middle finger stunt was awful but the jury decided. If it where the death penalty there would be appeal after appeal that the parents would be attending. It goes on for years and years. I think death is the cowards way out!

He is like Scott Peterson he is able to completely remove himself from the crime mentally and emotionally ! He said that he doesn’t mind being put to death because he knows he will do it again given the chance! Deep down he doesn’t want to get death because he can get away with many different behaviors and privileges in prison such as tv college degree food he’d and being in a cell away from people for his safety! He would have nothing to worry about essentially! I hate to think of jail and prison that way but it is true they have more security privacy and comforts than most Americans in society for pray! Unfortunately, the mental health system is broken and that's not to make excuses for his behavior. I was in the mental health system and I wouldn't dream of murdering anyone, not even the bullies who treated me like dirt when they saw my problem, which I couldn't hide. Although I doubt the PARKLAND health system is as broken as the one for people who were wards of the state and lived in an orphanage. Even when they sent me to a foster home, I never lived in a place like Parkland, Florida. I never thought I was entitled to anything.
One of my biological parents beat my head against the wall so many times it gave me permanent TBI and lifelong seizures. My medical records prove the seizures. Finally.
I became a paramedic, ECG Technician and writer, hoping to help other abused people. The thought of murdering my own mom, much less an innocent person, hurts me even more. I wanted to STOP the cycle of violence, seizure-shaming and the rest of what mesan people do. The bullies can go to Hades for all of me.They're part of the problem, but I wouldn't kill them. I think they're miserable enough just being themselves.
I'm for the death penalty, especially in this case. I would've voted for it even after being told to disregard the impact statements, just because he kept returning to the same people and shooting them multiple times to make sure they were dead; that attitude is worthy of the death sentence & he WILL be dangerous in prison.

I think Mr. Schachter should become a lawyer. What he is saying is really true, his statement is too perfect. I was surprised his birthday was today and Linda Cruz’s death date.
