$1000 !!! deal of the decade! congrats...cant wait to see it back to life
That is definitly a hell of a find especially for a thousand bucks!
RS split bumper for 1K, you scored, I bought a 71 for $500 30 years ago. Can’t find those deals anymore.
Little bites is the key. Get it started, then running good, then stopping, then driving.
Wow! $1000 for a 70-73 Camaro? That's an insane bargain! These cars have seriously shot up in value these past few years. You restore that nice and pretty and you're sitting on gold, my friend. So long as that dirt & the vinyl top haven't rotted too much of the metal away, of course.
Fair play to the flatbed driver, he did a great job of dropping it without any damage.
Just 1000 dollars 😱, that’s an amazing deal. I had to buy mine for 2500. Mines just a plane Jane 73 that has been recked in the back. Looks really sturdy, I’ll stay tuned on your restoration!
I have a 72 Camaro my grandparents gave me for my 16th birthday!!! I'm 19 now
That car is unmolested, it even has the fiberglass radials from the early 70's .It would be interesting to know how long ago it was parked.
That was ignition key you had. Door has another key that is round head.
Man I love the patina.
Little brother....there are enough of us old “Bow Tie” guys around to help you walk through this. Clean it up, assess, engine running, assess, transmission, assess. See what I mean? Stop at each stage of the restoration and see where you’re at. One guy already commented on steps to be taken. He’s right on target! How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time! Reach out and ask questions. I’ve subscribed , and will follow the restoration. Free advice is yours for the asking! Great video, and looking forward to the next. Psst....there may be a 6 cylinder under the hood
that front bumper set up is so cool . gotta love how they can never make the old cars anymore , wont pass regulation . And they weigh like 25% less than the new cars
I love those split bumper RS Camaro's the lines where that rust hole was is where the 1/4 panel meets the roof if it had a vinyl roof the factory usually did not much to hide the seam because the roof would cover it
I got a model kit at 11 or so and it was a 1970 1/2 Ballwin Motion Camaro. I have wanted one and has been my dream car ever since. I had a chance to buy a 73 20 years ago for 2500$, but I needed something reliable to get back and forth to work. I will own a second gen one of these days. It is going to be cool watching this build, congrats man.
the way that car was sitting down on the ground I cannot imagine that the door pans and sub frames are basically toast
The last date I can make out on the registration stickers on the rear license plate is 1994. That would mean it's long out of the DMV's system. But as a California license plate expert, I can tell you these plates are original to the car! 1971 was the third year of the famous California blue plates, and the letter sequence started with "C" (like it does in "729 CAY"). The good news is that you can actually register these plates to the Camaro by using the DMV's YOM program.
American rust progression is a good color
Oh I’m definitely looking forward to keeping up with this story!! I used to have a ‘77 & I still love these cars.
NEEDS EVERYTHING AND THE KITCHEN SINK LOL
