    Tip.......Lubricate the hood hinges so you don’t bend the hood

    That interior has definitely baked in the sun for many years. It actually does look much better sitting on good tires.

    Good luck on your restoration, I’ve had some partial restoration jobs myself, although that looks a little bit more than that. One thing I can say, it’s gonna take a lot of your time, energy, and money. But believe me, it is well, well worth it. Good luck

    Its not only a '71 Camaro, its a '71 Camaro RS which makes it even more rare/desirable. Nice too, just about every replacement part is available for these.

    I have a 1978, and a 1980 Camaro. The 78 has a Z28 front end. I really like that car you found, I look forward to seeing more videos from you as you get this thing road ready!!

      randy kirkorian thanks! They had a discount sale a few months ago I was able to get the dash for a great price. It’ll be a long time until I get into the interior though

    Put solid boards under the jack stands

    Use S.O.S. pads on the paint. Then linseed oil the paint. Rebuild the engine and trans. The suspension too. New tires and brakes. Redo the interior in cloth material. Drive it! Better than any new car.
    You can buy parts all day for it. Sleeper 427 motor! Shawn.

    I have one, been mine since 87. I was 17. Just had mine painted again. Enjoy it! The knobs by the way under the steering wheel opens the vents:)

    I suggest you watch vice grip Garage on RUclips he has many first start videos get it running clean the inside and just drive it for a month or so just to get in touch with the car it will also give you an even bigger love for the car.

    You can do entire interior on your own, seat cushions, seats covers, console, dash, rear package tray, headliner, carpet, door panels, all too easy and parts available on line. See fbody warehouse RUclips channel for tons how to videos

    Looks good. Make sure you redirect the gas from a smaller gas container should you try to get it started, that old tank has years of rust etc. split bumper looks mean

    I had the same 71 camaro i bought for $550 dollars 20 years ago.. Was in mint condition other than the stereo was stolen. Junked it cause when i drove it as a teenager i was pulled over by the police over 30 times in it. the V8 exaust smell would make my friends sick so they never asked me for a ride!

    That car needs a ton of work one thing you have working in your favor is the body is in pretty damn good condition. The good thing is if that the original engine and transmission in that car it's all numbers matching VIN number on the frame the engine serial number and the one on the transmission all match and it's worth a lot more money it's all the numbers match

      Yes. Proof idiots get lucky too. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. This guys videos are painful to watch for me. Did you hear him say "I read online you don't need a key to open the hood"? Also, "I don't know what these do"? They are freaking vent pulls. Just hurts to see a person with NO clue have this.

    That stickiness of the once soft plastic parts is from the harder plastic deteriorating and leaving the oil impregnated residue behind.

    Second that vice grip will get you straight bypass gas tank pull plugs back out PB break in each cylinder let sit and work harmonic balance bolt back and forth to break it loose

      my 73 Nova has been sitting, same exact stickyness on wheel. Something about the material degrading. I've seen the same thing happen to handles of old tools. For some reason my 79 Blazer doesn't have this problem

    One mistake guys make is not pulling the plugs and lubing the rings on cars that sat for along time.
    I fill them with diesel til it runs out the valve covers, mystery oil or pb blaster the cyl.s and let the sit for a week, then run the oil pump, then try to turn the crank by hand

    Spray Kroil on that wheel stud.....Better yet buy a case of Kroil, you're gonna need it. Just use it outside...!!

    He should have washed it at a do it yourself car wash vacuum it out spray some pinesol mix with water and wiped down all what he can and also get a car cover to protect it a little bit after cleaning it!!!

    Use pb blaster ALOT like one other commenter said . bolts bad bad buy new . u need dry shop . you can rent fix it shops in some big towns . 10×16

    You're basically going to have to replace the whole interior. Good thing is the parts are available. But your investment costs will go up.

    This is the type of car which was a ghost car I saw in 1976 in South Texas HWY 77 S. It was a coppery orange color and briefly wove back and forth behind my VW bug.

    Man I jack cars up damn near everyday on gravel I'm more worried for the car and where your jacking the car up from I just hope it's on the frame and not somewhere you can wreck stuff at because I've seen people jack the car up on sketchy areas like the tie rods and stuff

    Nice but find but you have a snoot full of work ahead of you..the rust through on both side of the rear roof columns is a sure sign of serious rust beneath ...I do wish you the best though

      We all gotta start somewhere man. I bought a 72 Dodge Dart in high school, and it was a painful learning experience. I wouldn’t go back and change that though, because above all it was a learning experience, first of many.
