  • Title is self explanatory. The part that needs to be replaced is the motor coupler.

Extremely good video. Clear, detailed and yet not excessive. I don't think I've seen anything as good as this for any repair video, not just washing machine repair. Thank you very much for your public service. Everyone please don't forget to like and subscribe; this is the least we can do as a thank you.

Wonderful guide to fixing the NON-SPIN washer. Mine Whirlpool washer is almost 15 years old and I followed step by step
to get the coupler in (got it for $3 on TEMU) and it took me almost 2 weeks now and then to get the motor back in place. But the rest of the taking apart and putting them back were breeze following your video instructions / demo. Great job. It saved me $700 + as I was ready to buy a new washer and get it installed. Thankyou... God bless you.

super awesome I did exactly as directed. 1st I checked the pump make sure no clogging. 2nd I twisted the bottom portion of the agitator in the washer and noticed a clicking... Then, I disassemble the outer cover, removed all the clips 5:42, and the motor coupler was completely cut in two. I had to grab it to make sure it was in two bc it's position looked fine until i grabbed it and it was completely in two.
Thanks for saving us a trip to Hades!

That's exactly what went wrong with mine, that + the agitator dogs. In an apartment, and maintenance has been a no show twice, and I just got in trouble for trying to work home yesterday and today, so I'm going to fix it myself. Same exact washer too.

I have that problem now. I can hear the motor running, and there is no water in the tub so the pump is working. My question is should I just go ahead and order the coupling, or check for some other possible problem?

Is this a direct drive or VMW machine? I’m having issues with a VMW kenmore that isn’t agitating well and isn’t spinning out all the water. I have to put it on manually spin dry to get excess out.

Hi great Video, buy the way. My mini machine makes a grinding noise when its washing. Sounds like if you have 2 plastic circles with teeth. When they go around it makes that noise. Also it won't spin anymore.. Do you have a idea what is wrong? I checked the belt, but it ok. Thanks ❤❤❤
Just watched you remove those white things, could it be the same in my machine???

Hi Sam & people! I have the Whirlpool LXR6232E Q0, It looks the same as this one. Everything is the same, motor sound, full of water. When I do the switch trick, I can see that it tries to turn as it does slightly, the barrel spins slightly too. What type of motor coupler is compatible with this washer exactly? Thank for help everyone!!!

My Amana is less than 2 years old. It's not agitating. I took agitator off. Dogs look good, but look good. What do I know?
I'm taking agitator to appliance shop. See what he has to say. I've known him for 30 years.
I could order dogs, but if he has a code machine maybe he can tell what's wrong.
I can't tear it apart and buy parts.
Finally, I'll bring the entire washing machine in to him.
ITS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR IT TO BE RUINED LESS THAN TWO YEARS.
THERE WAS A GRINDING NOISE LAST TIME.
    HECK!!!

Thank you for this excellent video tutorial. I have an older model Inglis/Whirlpool and have this same problem. I took it apart like you did but not having experience working on those machines, I expected a broken belt. I will tear it down again but remove the motor next time to do a visual on the part you showed. My machine is pretty old but the motor assembly is exactly like the one in the video. I don't know the model number. Is that replacement part universal on those units? Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.

      @timd1833 Год назад

While you have it apart, replace both parts. (I think it is sold with both parts only). Both old parts are the same age (brittle) and the "good" half may break in due time.

please dont use the coupler with the metal on the inside . it will be the last one you ever replace on your machine . the metal coupler is stronger then the shaft of the gearcase and motor. it will wear out the gearcase shaft and motor shaft, use the all plastic coupler
