    The information contained in this video applies to TOP loading washing machines only(especially older models). The repair process can vary a little from one machine to another, so always look up your make/model washer online to see exactly how to remove your agitator. Thank you!

    Thank you so much! This grandma just fixed her Maytag Centennial after finding your video early this morning. I really appreciate how clearly you give the instructions and how you take the time to get good angles with the camera so we can see what you’re talking about. I provide daycare for my toddler grandchildren, and my husband is an Army JROTC instructor and coach, so one day without a wash machine is about as long as I could go. Thanks!

    I recently moved into one of my favorite rental homes. None of my tenants had ever complained about the washer. When I started doing laundry, the water wouldn't drain all the way and caused the washer to be out of balance during the spin cycle. Upon inspection I found the drain hose was kinked so I trimmed and adjusted the hose and voila! it drained! The spin cycle completed without any problems. After a few more loads, my clothes still seemed kind of funky-smelling, and I finally realized the agitator wasn't working properly either. I found your video and just made this repair. It took me about 30 min and cost $10. It's like I have a whole new washer! I love RUclips. Keep up the great videos!!

    OMG! I just took apart and removed the agitator from my washing machine. Reason: A long cord from a fleece jacket got wrapped around underneath the agitator (under the large round cover below agitator). The round ball that was on the end of the cord prevented it from being unwound and removed - it was STUCK. After watching this video I was able to easily remove agitator, remove cord and put back the parts ( after washing the parts - they were very dirty). THANK YOU! Now I'll be able to replace the part should it break in the future. Wow! Lots of $ saved! PS. I'm 69 yr old woman, so anyone can do it.

    1. My screw was already loose, so this fixed that problem.
    2. My dogs were definitely worn out, thanks to you I replaced them, that fixed this issue and my agitator looked like yours at the end.
    I thought that would be it.
    3. Agitator is still not "agitating" during cycle, and now my water doesn't drain properly.
    If anyone here knows what might be wrong, would appreciate any opinions. Thanks for the video either way!

    I had my washer open last night as it filled and I was in the other room. Suddenly I heard it begin “agitating” and was so confused! Ran in and sure enough, it was open. In the 10+ years I’ve owned it, it’s never agitated while open. Then I noticed the top wasn’t doing anything, just the bottom. And it free-spins as shown. Thanks - gonna check this out for repair!

      Unless it's chest, arm or dizziness, check RUclips before calling a repairman. I even saved my wife's life from getting sepsis by researching of her condition.
      After she fell down (87 yrs. Old) she would not get out of bed due to pain. After researching, I learned that patients can get bed sores in less than 5 hrs. so I ordered a mattress topper that varies pressure randomly 24/7 (quietly only $50. on Amazon) and I give her leg therapy w/her favorite music, she moves her arms with the rhythm, so I know mentally the therapy is helping her (Alzheimer Disease). Now we take walks as round the house for therapy. I lost my oldest sister (98) yrs. cuz I did not know about FALLS can lead to early death. Now I understand, early intervention is critical. I hope many people will learn this can be turned around.

    Brilliant presentation. lately our washing machine made a grinding noise, loud noise, that my husband cannot fix anymore. anyway our unit is already 15 years old, fix and repair. we ended up buying a new one. i think 15 years is worth getting a replacement. Thank you.

    The bolt on mine was not easily removed because Maytag had put some kind of locking paste (blue color) to avoid loosening of the bolt wen the rotor turns at high speed and after many uses of the machine . Thumbs up for the video !

    • @electronicsNmore
      @electronicsNmore  4 года назад

      That's thread locking compound. Blue is medium strength. Have a person hold the agitator as you loosen the bolt. Thanks for watching!

    Mine just stopped working, and I needed to know whether it was something I could fix, something I'd need someone else to fix, or I just needed a new machine. I hope the dogs are universal. Nothing in my house ever seems to be standard or easy to repair. 😅
