Thank You hubby fixed my washer today. Us old timers sure needed this video. I'm nearing 70 and now we could fix this washer. You are so kind to do these videos. Many thanks. I'm washing clothes and thank you . Can't afford a new one. If I could do cartwheels I would. LOL.
OMG!!!!! Your comment, "Most people have NO idea there's even a problem with their washing machine" hit me hard. Years ago I suspected this part stopped working. 1 million thanks for helping all these people out. When you give, you get more back. Peace bro!

I was looking for a video on cleaning the inside of the agitator and realized after watching your video that the agitator dogs in my washer were broken. Thank you for giving me the know how to fix my own appliance. It only took a few minutes! 👍🏼
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!!! Living alone for the first time in years and everything is tearing up. I'm going downstairs feeling very confident I can do this. BLESS YOU!

I'm elated to find this clear description of how to repair my old Whirlpool washer that I've had for 28 years! I recently moved into one of my favorite rental homes. None of my tenants had ever complained about the washer. When I started doing laundry, the water wouldn't drain all the way and caused the washer to be out of balance during the spin cycle. Upon inspection I found the drain hose was kinked so I trimmed and adjusted the hose and voila! it drained! The spin cycle completed without any problems. After a few more loads, my clothes still seemed kind of funky-smelling, and I finally realized the agitator wasn't working properly either. I found your video and just made this repair. It took me about 30 min and cost $10. It's like I have a whole new washer! I love RUclips. Keep up the great videos!!
OMG! I just took apart and removed the agitator from my washing machine. Reason: A long cord from a fleece jacket got wrapped around underneath the agitator (under the large round cover below agitator). The round ball that was on the end of the cord prevented it from being unwound and removed - it was STUCK. After watching this video I was able to easily remove agitator, remove cord and put back the parts ( after washing the parts - they were very dirty). THANK YOU! Now I'll be able to replace the part should it break in the future. Wow! Lots of $ saved! PS. I'm 69 yr old woman, so anyone can do it.

Thanks so much for posting this! I was about to spend $80 on a whole new one but found OEM dogs online for just over $5 delivered. I had to use a soft mallet to separate the top from bottom though but our washer is something like 28 years old. I love the old school Whirlpool stuff.

I had my washer open last night as it filled and I was in the other room. Suddenly I heard it begin “agitating” and was so confused! Ran in and sure enough, it was open. In the 10+ years I’ve owned it, it’s never agitated while open. Then I noticed the top wasn’t doing anything, just the bottom. And it free-spins as shown. Thanks - gonna check this out for repair!
Thank you for assisting me with the fix of my top loader kirkland whirlpool washer. It works better now then when I purchased it. I really appreciate your expertise and knowledge. I also created a 7/16 socket wrench with a 7/16 socket and grip pliers, see great minds think alike.

Most people just buy a new machine😂🤑☹. So sad, our land fill is over capacity, rates, etc are getting higher. I repaired my bidet twice (less than 3 yrs old) but Bidet King offered to provide me the part + instructions to repair or I can send it in for repair. Boda Bang!, Boda Bing! Easy, Cheese! SAVES TONS OF MONEY & TIME!
Came across your video when I got something stuck in my agitator at the bottom and my husband was so upset. But with your video, you made it super easy for us to fix the issue and taking it out, and putting it back in.Thank you thank you thank you 😊
Wonderful video sir!!! Very well done. Very well spoken. Easy to view. Excellent all around and you saved me from having to call someone to come repair it for $110. You're the BEST!!!
I never, I mean ever want a used washer of dryer or refridgerator in life. Years ago I had to buy used stuff. Plus before I pay $110 for a washer repair, I would buy a new one. I just purchased another laptop and was thinking now I have to return it because the washer is broken. Well, I looked at a couple RUclips videos and I will order the part. This is awesome! This guy is a good teacher too.
Unless it's chest, arm or dizziness, check RUclips before calling a repairman. I even saved my wife's life from getting sepsis by researching of her condition. After she fell down (87 yrs. Old) she would not get out of bed due to pain. After researching, I learned that patients can get bed sores in less than 5 hrs. so I ordered a mattress topper that varies pressure randomly 24/7 (quietly only $50. on Amazon) and I give her leg therapy w/her favorite music, she moves her arms with the rhythm, so I know mentally the therapy is helping her (Alzheimer Disease). Now we take walks as round the house for therapy. I lost my oldest sister (98) yrs. cuz I did not know about FALLS can lead to early death. Now I understand, early intervention is critical. I hope many people will learn this can be turned around. JL
OMGOSH Great Vid!!!! You saved me. I am disabled and have no money to call someone and/or replace my old machine. I can do this sitting down easy peasy. TYTY for being willing to put yourself out there and do this. UPDATE: Fixed and only took me 5 minutes. Again TY

Thanks for the clear concise video, only issue I had was getting the agitator apart. No amount of pulling up while stepping down was going to separate the 2 pieces. I used a rubber mallet to get them apart and then everything was very easy and fast to complete.
I want to thank you because you seriously helped me get the dog leash out of the washing machine by myself!! I have never had anything tangle in the bottom to the point that I couldn't wiggle it out. Thank you again!

The bolt on mine was not easily removed because Maytag had put some kind of locking paste (blue color) to avoid loosening of the bolt wen the rotor turns at high speed and after many uses of the machine . Thumbs up for the video !
Yes this is very interesting I just had a guy come out I paid $69 for a estimate for 5 minutes for him to tell me that my Maytag centennial was going to cost me $400 + dollars to fix and like this machine my agitator is not working so I was about to throw my machine away and buy a brand new one but I'm going to try this first thanks for showing this video

Thank you for this. Mine just stopped working, and I needed to know whether it was something I could fix, something I'd need someone else to fix, or I just needed a new machine. I hope the dogs are universal. Nothing in my house ever seems to be standard or easy to repair. 😅

Have you made a video on how to fix the washer control on the same model that you fixed the agitater on ?

In the 10+ years I’ve owned it, it’s never agitated while open. Then I noticed the top wasn’t doing anything, just the bottom. And it free-spins as shown. Thanks - gonna check this out for repair!
This was the problem! We were able to fix it!
Thank you for assisting me with the fix of my top loader kirkland whirlpool washer. It works better now then when I purchased it. I really appreciate your expertise and knowledge. I also created a 7/16 socket wrench with a 7/16 socket and grip pliers, see great minds think alike.

Thank you so much for this thorough and easy-to-follow video!!! My husband is in the military and isn't available to do repairs most of the time (plus, i've always been very curious about repairing things around the house), and now i'll be able to repair our washer myself without having to spend a lot of money :) Thank you so much! God bless you
Glad to help! Thanks for watching
Oh my gosh I didn't know it was going to be that easy. Going to order my parts right away. Thank you so much. You don't know how it is when you wind up living by yourself. My husband died, he would take care of these problems now it's up to me and thank you for this video.

Glad my video helped you. Please return the favor by sharing my channel with others, watching my videos, and rating thumbs up. Thanks!

Thank you so much, I was going to order a new washer for my parents but your video saved me, I will try fixing it.
Compared to the last video I watched, this one is AWESOME!!
OMGOSH Great Vid!!!! You saved me. I am disabled and have no money to call someone and/or replace my old machine. I can do this sitting down easy peasy. TYTY for being willing to put yourself out there and do this. UPDATE: Fixed and only took me 5 minutes. Again TY
This video was so awesome I can't believe I fixed my machine by myself! I feel so accomplished my work is done for today!

Thanks for the clear concise video, only issue I had was getting the agitator apart. No amount of pulling up while stepping down was going to separate the 2 pieces. I used a rubber mallet to get them apart and then everything was very easy and fast to complete.
Yup, got my Whirlpool Ultra Care running like a dream again! Thanking you all the way from the Philippines.
Thanks to your video I was able to fix our machine. I 3d printed those agitator dogs and they work just fine
I want to thank you because you seriously helped me get the dog leash out of the washing machine by myself!! I have never had anything tangle in the bottom to the point that I couldn't wiggle it out.
Thank you again!

Thanks so much. We had so much change in the bottom under the agitator it was unbelievable. My husband will start cleaning his pockets out he says. Scrubbed everything up & that did the trick. Our problem was an overload of change that had fallen down underneath the agitator. Happy mama!

I'm so glad I saw this video! Saved me a lot, all the agitator were broken into pieces. I don't know how long they've gone that way, maybe the last one or two finally broke lol 😂 we've had this washer since we bought our house.

Brilliant presentation. lately our washing machine made a grinding noise, loud noise, that my husband cannot fix anymore. anyway our unit is already 15 years old, fix and repair. we ended up buying a new one. i think 15 years is worth getting a replacement. Thank you.
15 years, you did good. Ive seen many last 20 years.
Thank you! Just fixed my washer in about 10 minutes for $10!

The bolt on mine was not easily removed because Maytag had put some kind of locking paste (blue color) to avoid loosening of the bolt wen the rotor turns at high speed and after many uses of the machine . Thumbs up for the video !
That's thread locking compound. Blue is medium strength. Have a person hold the agitator as you loosen the bolt. Thanks for watching!
All 853 comments had an extension bar?
Yes this is very interesting I just had a guy come out I paid $69 for a estimate for 5 minutes for him to tell me that my Maytag centennial was going to cost me $400 + dollars to fix and like this machine my agitator is not working so I was about to throw my machine away and buy a brand new one but I'm going to try this first thanks for showing this video
Thank you, clear instructions and great camera work!

thanks for your most excellent video. My Kenmore design was somewhat different than the washer in your video. yet you gave me enough information to get the job done. Saved me from having to buy another washer.
Thank you for this video. My Inglis washing machine is repaired for only 3$.
I never heard of Inglis. That gives me hope that it will work for my Frigidaire washer.
Wasn't sure what was wrong with my washer, Figured it needed a new belt but after watching this video I checked and sure enough 3 of the 4 were broken. Because of this video was able to order what I needed from Amazon, Thanks!

I had to climb into my drum to hold the bottom of the agitator with my feet while I loosened the bolt. I fixed it though!!! $5.

Thank you so much! I did it myself, it moves so smooth and doesn’t make a whistling noise anymore. Also my whirlpool washing machine stopped violently shaking against the wall almost like it was high on cocaine haha
You're welcome! Thanks for watching
Thanks for the vid buddy. I brought this exact machine and this was the problem with it. New dogs turned up today as they don't even stock whirlpool parts in New Zealand.
Too easy! Thanks!

Sergio Howell lol, yea that's one agitator that you don't want to agitate!
Thank you so much for this video! I was able to fix my washer today for $4.21 with your method!!
Excellent video !! My question is what about the lower agitador spinning to booth sides its normal oh something broken ? I have that problem in my whirlpool
A toothbrush for cleaning teeth... Imagine that
😀
Thank you for this.
Mine just stopped working, and I needed to know whether it was something I could fix, something I'd need someone else to fix, or I just needed a new machine. I hope the dogs are universal. Nothing in my house ever seems to be standard or easy to repair. 😅
