Mick before shooting "Hey Pete, make sure to mention Stevie Ray Vaughan on MTV unplugged."
Pete "Why?"
Mick "I just may have just spent the last 3 days on a 12 string practicing SRV... and I really want to show off."
Sounded great guys. Always a pleasure to listen to.
That sounds amazing!!! Double 12 strings!!!! Beautiful!
YES!!!! Mick is finally back and with some excellent playing :) :)
Mick and Pete you are simply amazing
One of the best intro jams of any series @ Andertons, or youtube for that matter..... omg those sound amazing
Yay! The video I wanted to see! Thanks, guys.
Truely amazing guitar playing!
two of my favorite guitar players! How have I never seen this!?!?!?
That was beautiful to listen to!
I really want a 12 string now... Damn you Andertons! Damn you! :p
Actually after hearing these two monkeys i not sure i want to go through with a purchase ...lol...- (I'm still going to get one) but you guys always play the predictable, I suppose it's expected, nature of the beast etc. I will make some some VT's when mine arrives, not as costly as those and I have to add my piazo, ( I shall be getting proper adult dude to fit it for me - a chap not far away over the hills in Hebden Bridge who is a genius with guitars, but has a waiting list almost as big as his talent). Whilst I live in a town synonymous with the Blues!
@@marksadventures3889 ''Actually after hearing these two monkeys i not sure i want to go through with a purchase '' is there something wrong with there playing?
You guys are awesome, great players, and funny as hell...
some terrific guitar playing right there, man
Taylor 562 sce it sound fabulous just rings and yes very rich great playing guys, thank you
Amazing playing, thanks chaps! I'm new to this, but wanted to add my appreciation to the 12 string! I recently bought the Taylor 150e (it's a bit more expensive now!) and yesterday I added a Rickenbacker 330 12 string - what an amazing instrument and easier on the fingers than the acoustic! Well worth the little extra effort to get used to, every guitarist should have a 12 string in their collection!
Fucking hell that intro was powerful!
Man, that ES2 system is a major step up from any piezo I've yet heard... (Or the noisy, bassy magnetic pickup in my beloved GS Mini!)Great video as always, guys.
oh my god those 12 and 6 string 12 fret guitars sound amazing!
Yay! The two lads back again. Class :)
Massive grin on my face during this video, the SRV stuff was insane
Mick and Pete is back. Yes!
You guys were great. Miss all the silly banter, with Mick always trying to keep Pete in the same conversation on this planet.
Great playing, great sounds, Taylors' are brilliant. That's a lot of strings on such a small guitar looks fantastic though .... sore fingers
uooww. great job. tks guys !
Love that new 'flamingo' shirt!
yeah!sound very well
Danish Pete in the out takes had me cracking up. More out takes please!
Mick mentioned the low number of smaller-bodied 12s. JHS 'Vintage' Paul Brett signature 880PB is a parlour 12 with body join at the 12th. (The 880 is the new, upgraded version with better electro and easy access battery compartment). It's lovely to play and with more of a jangle than the Taylor. Both are superb (I've owned and played both) but whereas the Taylor is very expensive, the 880 is affordable. Both come in their own hard case.
The 562CE has now also been upgraded by Taylor and uses V bracing.
First off, I am a huge fan and love you guys. Second, I'm a Taylor owner (314ce) and I love my Taylor sound, but I just noticed in this video the pickup sound vs miked is drastically different. You guys do this a lot. Is this a recording thing and an anomaly or does it sound that different through the pickup vs miked normally?
any comparison vdo' is sound an quality with the 356ce ?
Danish Pete dang ! Such a gifted dude
There's some kind of weird phase effect on the high frequencies of the 562.
What guitars were used in the intro song before the video starts??
In 1963 I wandered into the record department of a store in Birmingham and chanced upon an LP by Billy Strange titled 'Twelve String Guitar'.
ruclips.net/video/dM7arCdXsKY/видео.html
That day and that find changed my musical life and now the Taylor 562ce has done it again. The instrument is truly sublime to play - even easier than any of my 6 strings by way of action all down the fretboard and playability. The shorter scale is a revelation. What thre guitar lacks in the raw jangle of a traditional 12 it makes up for in volume and richness of tone. Since '63 I've had a variety of 12s including the the classic Eko Ranger back in the late 60s. (Built like a brick but surprisingly good to play). This video was the final decider for me, so thanks chaps. I've been grinning like the proverbial Cheshire cat ever since I got it. My wallet was unhappy but I'm not. If you love 12 strings, give yourself a treat and try the 562ce. You may never be the same again.
Wish you were here played so differently than I've seen ....free falling for two non lettered riffs ....th9se SRV songs /riffs were awesome...
does the 150/356/360 and 562 use the same hard case ?
I could listen to that into go on and on
A - Hotel California
B - Mr Tamborine Man
... (Wanted Dead or Alive)
C - Wish You Were Here
D - Free Fallin'
Do I win a t-shirt?!
lol. similar but B was definitely dead or alive.
Yes SRV done well!
You guys should get a gig with double 12 strings, restaurants would love it
'Free Falling' sounded really neat. Not to sure about 'Hotel California' though.
what is shaking the neck back and forth at the end supposed to be?
Gotta love Mick and Danish...brilliant :)
Fun fact for Danish Pete: flamingos pee on their own legs to cool themselves down.
Pete does the same - its very off putting ;)
😁
CaptAnderton
AHAHAHA! Congratulations, you made me shoot soda out of my nose! xD
danish pete in full effect at the end
Oh, he's Danish? I thought he was just British with his own accent. Either way, I think he looks comparable to Leonardo DiCaprio.
man I'm getting old seeing Mick grin and tip his coffee mug at the camera I flashed back to the 1960's watching The Jacky Gleason Show with my grandfather. Mick next time slip in a "mmmmm, how sweet it is," after sip. you'll crack up some late middle-aged people.
Gosh that ES2 pickup is a bold choice. I have no idea why Taylor keep installing that thing!
what was B? thank you.
I know it's not Taylor, but you'all carry Fender and they have been into acoustic 12's going back to the 1960's (Villager's). Does Faith make a 12? Maybe a shootout between 12 strings ...
12 string acoustics and no Closer To The Heart??
what is the song they play in the beginning? (Right after the intro)
Jaco Fourie improv
It's an improvisation but it pretty much sounds like (same chord progression) an accoustic version of ''Zombie'' by The Cranberries
That 562ce is one of the most balanced 12=strings I have ever heard. Due to mahogany?
A: Hotel California. B: ? C: Wanted Dead or Alive. D:Wish you were here. E: Free fallin.
B was Mr. Tambourine Man by the Byrds and written by Bob Dylan.
Does anyone know any companies that make 12-string lefties? I'm in love with their sound, but I can't find 'em anywhere. Or could I just buy a semetrical one and just let a local luthier flip the bridge and strings?
Thanks!
tuksedoken I'm not an expert in 12 string guitar, but in a 6 string replacing the bridge and saddle with lefty ones will do it as the bracing is symmetrical from inside.
You can even go for a transparent pick guard to keep everything tidy!
tuksedoken hi i’m a lefty also, martin & taylor both make very good 12 string left handed guitars 🎸 i personally have a martin DX-12 love it & they are affordable so is the taylor 150-e look them up either guitar is great 👍
nice entro do it again....
Andertons...does it djent?
Of course...
+Andertons Music Co good deal
What are the mics used in the video for the guitars?
km 184
Neumann KM184
aren't the bottom 3 strings just doubled, but not octaves? (Since mick said they're all octaves.)
Yeah, they're just doubled.
They'd have to be the diameter of baby hair to octave the unwound strings. What you got on top there Pete? Oh it was a .002, but it broke when I used the pick to try to tune it.
+Luca F1 alright, i wasn't sure
" Sound pretty rich.." for $2,ooo dollars i am sure it does!
Oh, i'm joke. Better make an early.
Chappers and captain reviewing REVEREND guitars next....
Looking at the state of M(what music??)TV today, it's absolutely astounding to think that such fabulous musicians actually ever had anything to do with it.
To this day one of my favorite albums of all time is Alice in Chains MTV Unplugged. Such a shame they've gone so far downhill.
used to love watching mtv back then.. today its all screachy bubblegum pop and mindless incoherent yappy rapping.. they should rebrand it to MCTV (Much Crap TeeVee) ;)
Give'r Mick Vaughan!
2:42 somebody's stomach dying of hunger?
Damn brexit..
BARN DOOR! HAHA Pete!
A. Hotel California, B Hey Mr Tambourine man, C Dead or Alive, D Wish You Were Here, E Free Fallin do I get a prize hahaha
That 12 fret tho
The best way to describe a 12 string is jangly,
You've been taking your time to upload videos, why?
No Bon Jovi? That's the only thing I think to play when I get on a 12-string.
That 300 series looks and sounds like a million dollars.
C
Ayy
I think the "normal" 12 string Sounds much better
that was zombie in the beginning y'aint fooling me
Can I have my own Pete?
Now I want the 562ce, but I don't have $3,000. 😢
it was testify SRV played not rude mood on mtv unplugged
Look again he played rude mood too!
Where is the Guild?
12:51 checks finger for blood
Leonardo decaprio?
Keep thinking the same thing
A) Hotel California, B) Mr Tambourine Man (I think) C) Wanted Dead or Alive D) Wish you were here E) NO clue.
B is "California Dreamin;"= the Mamas & Papas...E. is "Free Fallin'"-Tom Petty& the Heartbreakers.
No, B is "Mr Tambourine man" by the Byrds, I'm sure of it.You can hear it in the rundown at 21 minutes and 19 seconds and onwards. California dreamin' is in a different root chord as well, so that *can't* be it.
Mamalam comin hooooooom!
anyway I don't like the lack of attack and definiton on 12 strings
where is kirk
The video is in the edit at the moment. Thanks of watching.
😂the 150 sapele superb guitar after some tweks
Well, It's the 562, isn't it? Both very nice instruments, but, one sounds a bit nicer. Sorry!
Spoiler:
A: Hotel California
B: Have heard it before but don't know the title
C: Wanted Dead or Alive
D: Wish You Were Here
E: Free Fallin'
I can't remember B either, but I think it's a Beatles song.
Mr. Tambourine Man- The Byrds version
do sound like stereophonics
Hotel California?
So, due to some political situations, does it now cost 8 million pounds?
Sure, but it's only 33 Euros.
+Markle2k hahahaha xD
It will have gone up some, both £ and Euro have lost a lot against the USD, which is good news for our exports, but the £ has lost very little against the Euro, which is good for most of our imports. Not such great news for importing guitars from America, though.
I thought Pete was a black woman in the thumbnail. I need to get my eyes checked.
Oh yea great video as always though
the eagles hotel California
A Hotel California A
B Tambourine Man B
C Dead or Alive C
D Wish you were here D
E Free Fallin' E
firsststststet
you want to see why you need a 12 string in your life. watch john butler, ocean, and then cry cause you cant play that xD
was curious about the 150 but this is unbearable to listen to, quit after 1 minute.
Taylor, worst 12 string i ever had.
Maybe it’s just your lousy playing ?
@@rickyricardo9917 🤣🤣👍maybe, i'm not the biggest talent, but....i had a perfect IBANEZ and a verry nice GARRISON.
Taylor maybe has good guitars , i don't know, this is my first and last, i'm sure.
Too much money for a bad piece of wood.
Thank you for your fun reaction 🤣👊
