- I was invited to the new Gibson Garage in London when I had a moment with the legend Jimmy Page. I played his new signature guitar 12-string! Unbelievable! Thanks to @gibsonguitar for having me.

I always thought it would be epic and hilarious if Jimmy Page went into one of these "No Stairway" guitar stores and played Stairway.
Why has this never happened???
@@d.rowley5023 Our desire for it to happen keeps him alive.
I've been wanting someone to put a video on YT of that happening for years! I mean, who's going to stop him...
@@plectrumizerand then he gets a copyright strike...
@@d.rowley5023Presumably Jimmy has so many other things to do in life.... It might happen. I'm pretty sure we all thought about it at one point...
I’ve met him, talked to him for a few minutes,he was a lovely guy…then ten years after (no pun intended) I picked up a hitch -hiker in the mountains of Wales,he noticed my guitar in the back seat and asked if I liked Led Zep,I regaled him with my tale of meeting Pagey, and all their local ‘history’ (Bron-y-aur etc) It was only when I dropped him off that he started laughing and informed me that he was actually Jimmy’s son Ashen, and it was ! He looks the spit of him !I drove the rest of the way home listening to Zep,of course…
awesome cuz
@@Roma_901 All true arkid,I actually asked Pagey about his first use of a Wah wah on Dave Berry’s ‘the crying game’ he put me right saying it was actually a Diahmond swell pedal.
@@Roma_901demonstrate that it's made up. Thank you.
@@sydneyirishbluessad how many of you guys believe a disgruntled broke ex-roadie's stories, the whole band has publicly debunked that stuff decades ago
@@sydneyirishbluesThe info is easily available right here on RUclips as well as in print.
2:42 - "No one was filming." Literally, only one person in the shot didn't have a cell phone camera in their hand. HAHAHA
I try to be the guy clapping or hands in pockets :)
@@CloxxkiI'll start with a nice arms crossed nodding in approval and them move on to a light clap with maybe a little "Woo!" thrown in if I'm feeling it.
That's the joke 🫠
I love how every time I see any video of Jimmy, the dude is always smiling. Legend.
@@sydneyirishbluesAnd Donald Trump.
@@sydneyirishbluesyeah they look like happy folk dont forget anthony kiedis tho
Jimmy Page but also Tony Iommi and Sir Brian May, all in the same room!!!
About that room, I'm kinda happy that it's not closer to where I live because if I would go in there, I'm pretty sure I would get out being homeless with no car, no girlfriend anymore and in debt!
Brian and Tony are apparently best mates
What an honour it must have been for Jimmy to meet a legend!
Really. What’s the luck of just running into him in a music store.
Hahaha, love this comment!
Paul Davids and Edgar Davids, two dutch legends in my book!
I tend to think of Paul as a guitarist and guitar teacher, but he’s a great film maker.
i liked it better when him and John worked together tbh.
so you think he's doing it himself? Man, he is a big RUclipsr who's making a lot of money and has a decent crew behind the scene
Yes he is!
What a terrific experience! I also had an SG (because of Robby Krieger of the Doors), but it wouldn't stay in tune. I eventually traded it in - and THEN, at the Nashville Gibson Garage just a couple of years ago, I bought another one at their custom shop. THAT one has been great. [I saw Led Zeppelin at their first New York show. It was at the famous Carnegie Hall in 1969. Fabulous.)
I would be so excited to meet any of of those three legends, but meeting the three at the same time would be a dream!
They were the reason for me to start playing guitar.
I saw a clip on RUclips once of Iommi and May playing Paranoid together, and it struck me how much you could hear their distinct styles, not clashing but working perfectly together. Legends indeed.
@@coryman125Brian May is so disntictive that the first time I heard "When Death Calls" by Black Sabbath I could tell easily that solo was him.
Beautiful cinematography and framing of the storyline. And content too :)
‘So Jimmy…tell me about the 14 year old’

Yeah... Why not?

Very cool indeed! Thanks for sharing Mr. Davids! I saw Jimmy Page when he was with the bad "The Firm" with Paul Rogers.
Wow, man, what a lucky guy you're ❤ greetings from Kyiv, UA ✌️
So are We. Imagine Paul as Ur instructor/or even Dad.

Slava Ukrainii!!! I wish all the best for your country!

Loved the opening sequence! And congratulations on meeting one of the guitar greats! Heck, I am surprised that all three of them in the same room didn't open some portal into six string heaven or something!
Dear Paul ,I’m so happy that you meet one of your greatest guitars heroes, I follow your channel and have learned and enjoyed your work and knowledge united by your so friendly style for teaching, that I really believe that you so much deserve this moment. Keep on with your great channel and thank you very much.
That was super fun to watch! Thanks for all the hard work you put into making these videos so entertaining!
DUDE!!!! That is a dream I have to get to meet Jimmy F'n PAGE!!! Congrats
Amazing, I loved everything about this! Thanks Paul (and Jimmy) for the inspiration, teaching and laughs.
YES! Paul uploaded a new video!
Brilliant video! Looking forward to visiting next month!
I just signed up for yiour channel after watching various videos. Jimmy Page is my favorite guitarist (and LZ is my favorite band). What a treat to see this video.
what a great honour to meet all 3 guitar legends you are so lucky .
Great video, I woke up grumpy (as you do at 69yo) it really lifted my mood.
I remember a guitar shop in Sydney in the 70s Harry Landis that had a sign "anyone playing stairway to heaven or smoke on the water will be asked to leave.
The level of production you have in your videos is astonishing. Congratulations 🙌
Such a wonderful space! Thanks, Paul - you showed a special mood behind it!) It's fantastic!
Paul's such a humble person for someone who's already quite of a legend on his own, as a content creator, host, presenter, and as a musician.
Great work editing this!👌
Great show!!! Thank you for sharing!!!
How to make a visit to a new guitar place exciting content. Take note all other youtubers! Looked a lot of fun Paul, congrats.
I met Jimmy a few years ago on the streets of london - he was so kind and polite, I'm glad you got to meet him!
Oh, man!... 😮
What an awesome place and with such beautiful guitars! ❤❤❤
Not really a big fan of Gibson myself, but let's give credit where a credit is due.
I'm sincerely happy for you.
Great video! 👍🏻👏🏻🙋🏼♂️
I met him and shook his hand in LA for a book signing event back in 2014. I was surprised at how strong his grip was! He commented on my shirt, which had a tree and its roots in the shape of a guitar from Kauai. Emotions came out of nowhere as I was walking away. I even slept in my truck in a parking garage! Great memory.
Me too, what a special day, a great memory indeed! Went with my dad, a crazy Zep super fan (he's got like 2500 Zeppelin songs in his library, every bootleg recording of a live show he could find on the Internet).
Thanks Paul, for sharing some new history with us. Amazing opportunity and thank you for sharing. :)
The intro sequence was so awesome!
Thank you Paul for being at the perfect moment. So happy for you.
Very well done sir. Time for you to head for Hollywood. 🎸
Very cool Paul! Watched Mark so many times when he was at Norm's guitars.
Lucky to see and tour the Memphis plant before it was moved to Nashville.
What a nice shop!
You looked so stoked!!! Happy for you Bro.
Great video…got a much better sense of what’s there from this video than anything else I’ve seen so far
That's cool got to meet Jimmy P. in person!! That is cool.
Thank you. Everyone does conventions, openings, presentations....... but you have finally produced a video where the intro is more interesting and amusing than the actual event. Yes it was great to see those iconic guitar legends and all of those beautiful guitars but you in that phone box at the beginning was epic, closely followed by your fleeting image on the Abbey Road zebra crossing photoshoot.
Great video and very amusing! Thanks Paul!
That's my guitar teacher right there! My man!❤
Thanks for the video, since I've been loving Jimmy Page.
To be in the same room with them, wow, especially Pagey. I did get to see Page and Plant. That was amazing!
great tune on the SG!
Whoa. And welcome to London
Very cool. Thanks for sharing!
I watched Gibson's video on the Gibson Garage and I saw Paul in that video. Great video Paul, thanks
Bravo Paul 👍 great release 🎸🔥🤘
Paul!! You spent that whole time chasing Jimmy when you had Sir Brian May AND Tommy Iommi both there to hang out with?!! Great video, especially doing my favourite thing ever; playing Stairway in a guitar store. Excellent job
Brilliant!!!! Thanks Paul.......
Awsome video Paul. You are a natural born comedian.
I met Mark at the Gibson Garage in Nashville. Great guy!!! 🤘🥳 I nearly left with a guitar (so hard to choose!) I need that Page double neck though. The Epi version is great, but need that one! LOL
Oh my. But No pic with Tommy or Brian? All 3 are icons, but yes, Jimmy is No. 1. Cool store too. Need to plan a trip around that! Thanks for posting, you are fortunate to have been invited to this opening!
This looks like an incredible candy store for a guitarist... I'll definitely have to check this out on my next visit.. Thanks for the post..!
Awesome, from North Carolina USA!!!
Well done!
Gibson have officially created the boutique style store all the luxury brands have. Porsche, Rolex, Gucci etc all have stores like this. The prices are insane - 3,999 in canada now and likely to go higher. These guitars are now firmly in the dentist/dawyer/accountant category of things that are luxury nice to haves that will never be used by actual people.
Its an incentive to sell 10 of your subpar guitars hanging on your wall and buy one or two great instruments.
I gig regularly with both my Murphy lab electrics. And I saved for years to be able to. Some people do actually just appreciate playing a well made instrument, ya know. Stereotypes are ugly but easy to post for likes.
Sure some regular musicians buy em too. But the vast majority of Gibson buyers now are upper middle class and upper class folks. Thats why they have fake aging techniques in the custom shop - its so dentists can buy something that replicates road wear and they can do some cosplay. Fits perfectly with their Harley Davidson.
@@mohannair some of them sure. Saying most without any proof is just talkin sh tho. Yes rich ppl like nice things and they can afford them. Doesn’t mean working musicians don’t play nice instruments either. Anyone can save 5k with enough plan and intention if it’s important to you, most ppl are just financially impulsive and immediately wave off anything that’s not instant gratification.
@@ScottsGuitar That I will agree on - anyone can save 5k. Heck I may buy a standard 50s in tobacco burst during a financially impulsive moment in the near future as well lol. Enjoy your instruments in good health. Cheers.
You're living the dream. Smiles from Colorado coming at you!
Having played guitar for 45 years I can say that has a very unique sound 🎉
How did I miss this video?!! When did this happen!!! You have just got even more cool!
Love your guitar lessons, your playing...
Love Jimmy Page!!!!!❤
Wow, so cool! Thanks.
Awesome video Paul.
always a pleasure to see you, you‘re videos thanks

Holy cow! … talk about a “holy grail” moment!! Love your production values too! Fun!!
Nice video. Great having some guitar gods on hand to bless the store. Hope the store does well, need to sell a bunch of customs to pay the rent.
6:03 No way I just heard Mark Agnesi do a Borat impression
so cool you got to meet Geert Wilders!!
You went the long way round London !!!
Awesome video! Meet so many guys at once..
WOW🙌🙌🙌 Amazing experience
What a guitar store! I wish we had something like that in Australia. Online stores have closed many of our stores down
Paul, I ENVY you dearly! What a beautiful meeting this was with 3 of our heroes: Jimmy Page, Tommy Iommi, Brian May, each LEGENDS in their own way! Mama mia!
I’m sitting here after watching the video wondering why it made me so emotional. Badass opportunity, Paul. Kudos. Rock n roll!
Great video! It's actually more a short movie, and I loved it.
Goose flesh... Not sure if for the legend or fire the place, probability for both.
Saw both in London casually.. Jimmy and Brian. LEGENDS 🎸
Well done Paul!
Paul Davids, I love all your videos. Always with content that makes me explore and want more. And because of this video I may actually give Gibson Guitars a second try.
All those great gibsons and still no Flying V Medallion reissue . Now that’s a real travesty. Nice post and great visit Mr David’s 😊
This got a thumbs up for the intro alone. "Shoot?? Ah video footage, I got it." 😂👏
Paul, nicely done.
For 20 years ive dreamed of meeting page... live the dream for us paul thank you
Here I am in Canada getting all nervous for you ,getting to meet the Boss. Surreal !!!
well done Paul
heart warming adventure what great smiles. life is cool
What a world class marketing / sales exercise. Well done Gibson......this is really next level.
No words for this experience
Oh god, I would have loved to have been there... My favorite online teacher Paul Davids, together with Jimy Page, Brian May, Toni Iommy and Mark Agnesi at Gibson Playland... 🤤 a wet dream would have come true... Three of my reasons why I started making music... all that's missing are Slash, Malcolm and Angus... and everything in my favorite city, London... So cool!
Is it weird that I damn near got goosebumps for you?! Very cool.
I think that's just round the corner from my office. Might have to have a look in the window when I'm there next. You sure took a bit of a detour to get there from Whitehall :D
Omg the route he runs to get there has me in stitches!😂
I'd have been there in 3...😂 Fantastic video, man!
Nice Borat reference, Mark.
Im so stoked for you man because you met Jimmy WOW.
The second chord is Cmaj7#5/G# (2nd inversion) taken from A harmonic minor.
Meeting a star like Jimmy Page - I couldn't get a word out. That must have been a very nice feeling of happiness. 🤩🎸
I enjoyed this video.
I particularly liked the London scenes me being me.
Next time you visit let me know.
I could buy you a pint and w could talk/play guitars.
I know some guitarists in London.
Isn't the internet amazing. Congratulations Paul, you deserve it.
An experience that touches your soul for a lifetime.
fantastic!
