    thanks man! just installed some kenwoods in mine.front and rear.just picked up a '98 ex. i was shocked how poor the factory speakers in these cars were! my god.it's like they used something from the late 70's at best.iv no clue why no one didn't swap them out years ago.they were not ripped or anything.just cheap.cheap.cheap.
    i was also surprised how they didn't install any sound deadening behind the panels.the two side panels by the back seat most notably.i removed those and stuffed foam in there during the speaker install.way quieter in the car now just by doing that,plus quality speakers and it feels like i went from beater to decent car in a day! lol.
    thanks for the info on how to do this.really saved me some time today by watching your vid a couple days ahead.

    I just did the rear 6 x 9's on my 1997 Honda Civic (HX trim) Coupe - I had to remove the back seats and the side panels to access the upper deck. Once I made it to the upper deck I didn't need to squeeze the pushclips or anything just simply lift up and pull out the deck. Afterwards it's 4 small phillips head bolts to remove each speaker. Sit the new speakers in with the terminals facing outward so you can simply wire the factory speaker wire to the new terminals. Took me about an hour. TOOLS NEEDED - 10, 12, and 14mm Sockets, 4 inch extension, ratchet, phillips head screwdriver, pliers, and scissors. Message me if you need any further help.

      @@raziellopez335Hi, little late, but some new speakers come with a + and a - symbol on them. Line the new one up with the old one, while the old one is plugged in. Connect the wires from the old to the new in the same locations as the 2 on the plug, typically that's how it is. Just did my speakers in my '98 DX.

    idk about that, the stock speakers on a 2000 Honda Civic are 4 Ohms and produce 15W RMS and 30W MAX. The new speakers I installed yesterday had tweeters and I upgraded from 15W RMS to 120W RMS and 240 Max (2 speakers). There is much clearer sound too, I can clearly tell the difference because my front speakers are still stock.
    Thanks for the tutorial, it really helped!

    well, i just tried installing new speakers and couldn't get past the part where you pull upwards to loosen the main piece of plastic in the back. it appears that in my 2000 civic coupe, this part goes up under the side panels. any thoughts on how to take it apart? may have to have someone else to the install. thanks for the video though. super informative!

    this is not the same for Civics 96-00
    only 96-98 work this way
    99-00 are different panels
    I'm so fucking tired of of people thinking 96-00 civic models are the same

    • @woooweee
      @woooweee 9 лет назад

      Even 98 is different, there are additional catches near the back you can only see from certain angles through the metal cutaway holes underneath. Very dastardly.

      xerneas for 99-00 first disconnect the third brake light bulb from the socket.
      remove the back rest, slide the seat belts from the side opening of the
      tray. there are clips on both sides of the speaker tray near the front
      part that locks to the C Pillar cover. You have to push the speaker tray
      down on that part and pry it loose. It's best to use a trim and molding
      tool to avoid scratching the panels
      www.harborfreight.com/5-piece-auto-trim-and-molding-tool-set-67021.html.
      After that you can carefully lift the speaker tray to unlock the white clips that attach it to the car frame.

    I can't take the back panel off. My back left/middle seat come down, but the right seat in the back doesnt come down and that seems to be what is holding it. I don't want to take the seat out.

    • @Hunterzpunter
      @Hunterzpunter 10 лет назад

      are you sure that the seats not locked? some models have a lock so they won't come down

    • @BIGGIEDEVIL
      @BIGGIEDEVIL  10 лет назад

      the latch that holds the seat in place must be broken and it won't release if you watched the vid you don't need to unlock the backseats to put them down the lock feature is there to pull the seats down from inside the car and that's it. there are 2 handles in the trunk that you pull that release the seats so they can fold down

    • @BIGGIEDEVIL
      @BIGGIEDEVIL  10 лет назад

      Hunterzpunter wrong the lock only is used to pull the seats down from inside the car and it doesn't lock the seats from folding down

      the stock speakers where only 25 watts (13RMS) each the new Pioneer Speakers where 100 watts (50RMS) and where much better in every way. thanks for the comment and i hope this vid has helped out many ppl who took the time to watch the vid

    • @surfordie82
      @surfordie82 9 лет назад

      Remember though, that if you are only running the speakers off of the headunit, you want a speaker with a lower RMS rating if possible. It will sound better. Aftermarket headunits put out no more than around 22watts RMS per channel, so a low-end set of new speakers from a quality manufacturer will be perfect. I have Alpine Type Es that are rated at 35 watts RMS for example, and they are very efficient!

      this works for all models of Civic 96-00. NO SIDE TRIM IS NEED TO BE REMOVED for installation. you can purchase the factory connections so you can reuse the factory inputs, i rather soder the connections
