    Very informative video. I never done a 2000 civic before it was great to see where all the screws are located . I have the same year civic same color that I’m currently changing the OEM player with a Walmart Pioneer deck and also have a 8yr old 600w pioneer Amp and 10” pioneer sub I want to throw in. Thanks so much for the help on my journey appreciate it. (Liked, subbed)

    btw guys, i HIGHLY suggest keeping your distance from boss as big as possible. i know he stated it wasnt a high end brand, but i cant stress enough how bad most of their radios actually are. they usually only last a few years AT MOST and are made very very poorly. they have very low quality built-in amplifiers as well, meaning the sound you get from them is very poor and quiet. if youre in a pinch for money, i understand how good of deals this brand looks like it has, but i suggest other budget brands like pioneer and especially kenwood. if you want true quality all around the table, sony has some fantastic options as well, single and double din. just be sure to do research before pulling the trigger on a radio for a car, as its such an important factor to the overall ride experience

      I couldn't agree more. This was only to replace a non functioning radio and I was not going to be keeping the car. 👍🏼

    I just bought a honda civic 1998, it has the stock stereo at the top which turns on and works but no sound emits, and aftermarket stereo on the bottom. I took out the aftermarket stereo and all the cables have the white cap you put on the orange wire you were not going to use. Does this mean all I have to do is remove the caps and connect them in order to have sound in my car?

    • @DCAutoEnhancement
      @DCAutoEnhancement  Год назад

      That should work. Sounds like the previous owner had an amplifier and didn't use the head unit to power their speakers.

  • @TheSimulatorSmith
    @TheSimulatorSmith Год назад +1

    Did this and have no audio through the speakers

    • @DCAutoEnhancement
      @DCAutoEnhancement  Год назад

      The audio worked fine. Make sure the blue wire is hooked up on the harness going into the car. It will need to be hooked up to the blue/white wire from the radio. If it doesn't work after that, it's possible that you have a blown speaker shorting out amplifier in the radio

    • @TheSimulatorSmith
      @TheSimulatorSmith Год назад +1

      @@DCAutoEnhancement I did find out my particular civic does not have an amplifier, speakers were switched from my 94 civic to my 2000 they are aftermarket PRV Audio and worked perfectly, I may have a connection problem in that connection panel in the door cause the rear deck plays after connecting the same speakers to the rear.

      If you use the wiring harness, you have nothing to worry about. That happens when the red wire on the new unit has a constant 12 volts
