One thing not mentioned. The rear center brake light wire/clip needs to be removed, accessed from the trunk area. Couldn’t have replaced my 2002 Honda Civic rear speakers without this video. It’s basically a puzzle and you need to know the secrets. This vid reveals them. Thank you!
This is the perfect video! I removed my old rear speakers in 45 minutes with your help :) So easy when you know where to expect clips, hooks and bolts to remove. So easy that even a GIRL (who is not a mechanic) can do it.
At 2:45, how did you actually remove that? I'm trying to get it out right now and it's not budging. I can feel the hook from the trunk but even when I pull straight up it's not budging. Did you pool extremely hard straight up?
First off, great video. straight forward and to the point. Can anyone confirm that this would be the same method for a 2004 LX? I know that the 04 has 5.25" speakers on the rear deck. Wondering if getting to them is the same process.
thanks for the video man.. I wasnt watching to swap my speakers. I am actually painting my interior from grey to black with red trim.. (yes i am using car interior paint)
i bought a used honda civic 2002 and i wanted to change the rear speakers and i saw the rear speakers said pioneer are those stock or are they aftermarket?
Um I would have to see a picture of your speakers from the trunk. The only thing I can think of is loose wiring or the fade settings on your radio are set to the front speakers. I am new to car audio.
cut the magnets with a dremmel and cut the speaker top bracket in half using a dremmel or a small die grinder and pull the two halfs down the hole then stick your hand with a ratcheting wrench and take out the four screws and mount the new speaker from below using a little bit of brains, far easy than dealing with all those panels.
Alley55 yeah it's tough hey? If you can reach the underside of the clip you can pinch it to release. But after years in the sun they brittle! Good luck!

Did you use the existing speaker trim or did you have to buy an adapter for the new speaker to sit in? Thanks
perfect vid, buying my 6.5s now, quick question, if I buy standard 6.5 speakers will they bolt right in or do I need to drill new holes?
Hey.. Do you think a 6 inch subwoofer would fit in that spot.. i have the same car.. The width is 7 inches and the depth is about 3
how do you remove the middle seatbelt that is fed through the plastic?

Are the speaker plugs the same ?
gtadude24245 depends on what speaker you are installing but generally yes, they are all the same.

Can you verify that the rear speakers are 6-1/2"?
They are 6.5 so yes
My 2002 EX coupe has 6x9 in rear deck
"The seat unlock piece comes out pretty easily" maybe of we saw how you took it out. Mine isn't moving.
You've drilled a new screw holes? How? There is no space for a drill upside, and it must be so uncomfortable from the trunk...
pussy....
Ur car looks just like mine lol can't never go wrong with that color it's a head turner do you have 6 1/2 inch speakers in the back?
Loot Tense i got 6x9s because thats what google said , do nor buy 6x9s wont fit
