one thing I did do was perfectly center the speaker, then put four dabs of hot glue on the speaker and mount to hold it in place when drilled the 4 holes for mounting the speaker to the mount. that helped to keep the speaker from moving when drilling the holes.
adapters ... I was thinking for wiring; assuming female spade connectors ... this was not what I was expecting and if I need to, will follow this guide, thanks for putting it up! ;)
note the video did not talk about hooking up the wires, and when putting the door back in you need to watch out to make sure the door lock push pull tab goes in the hole correctly, it is a bit hard getting it thru. other than that I had no problems following the video.
ps: the project took me 2.5 hours (first time I ever installed speakers) for both front door speakers. the dremel 4000 I bought was the perfect tool for cutting out the old speaker.
@@superdelsol I guess my main issue is wondering if the screws that came with my speakers are too big and will crack the bracket but thanks for the reply
Daniel Reverter technically yes. There are harnesses you can get to keep the factory connectors. But I didn't waste my money. I just snipped the wires and put on some connectors on. Then put it on the speaker
I didn't have to even snip wires...if you look closely at the connectors on speaker wires..the looked like they were hinged...so I figured I'd have to cut anyway so I played around...if you open them hinges..them connecters will pull right out of the white incasement plug.and there you have stock wires that plug right up... I did take neednose pliers and barely pinched each connecter take make a nice tight connection
"i put my new radio on and it was easy ... but i forgot to change the speakers" you are a liar. you needed an introduction to the video - but you DID NOT forgot to change the speakers - since they are in a totally different place.
Thanks for posting. This really got my speakers installed. Crutchfield included a usless mounting kit, your video works.
Excellent video! Very straight forward for someone like me doing all of this for the first time. Great job!

Yeah, Honda used to be a lot better about the little details like that.
superdelsol ya. cars have been changing a lot in just how easy they are to work on. i miss the older cars. things are just so easy peasy.

I have 275 watts 8inch on my doors will my car be able to handle that?? It’s a civic 02
How tough was it to drill the holes into the bracket? That’s the part I’m having trouble with at the moment
It was easy for me, it was just plastic
@@superdelsol I guess my main issue is wondering if the screws that came with my speakers are too big and will crack the bracket but thanks for the reply
@NoLlif3 just pre drill the holes first and you shouldn't have a cracking issue
Just miss to how plug the conector to the speaker....you buy a adapter conector?
No I just cut off the factory one and put on some electrical connectors
Gotta do what ya gotta do ! Nicely done son . Now back to work on the HO monster !
+IRON MAN thanks! and yes sir, right away sir! lol
whats the mounting depth on the front door speakers of the 01-2005 civics?
Edible Enigma I have no idea, sorry.
do you know the depth of your speakers?
Edible Enigma sorry, it was a quick install in my wife's car or stuff that was laying around for a while
to get the tweeters off do you need to remove anything else?
Brandon McELroy I don't think so
Very nice hack man impressive
did you need an adapter for the wire harness?
Daniel Reverter technically yes. There are harnesses you can get to keep the factory connectors. But I didn't waste my money. I just snipped the wires and put on some connectors on. Then put it on the speaker
