    I remember growing up in the 80's when you had to build everything as a kit, 10 hrs to build & paint a project. Bashing wasn't a thing, it was all about skill to keep things together for a 4 minute race. 45mph from a brushed 12 turn with a triple wind armature was very impressive. I still have multiple original Rc-10s & RC-10Ts. I don't want to destroy classics, so I have opted for Traxxas for awesome availability of parts and reliability. Great product. I have a highly modified Slash & extremely modified TRX-4 Blazer. Bandit is my next purchase to bring me back to my roots.

    Hi, some hints from a long time Traxxas fan:
    Stock tires are not made for concrete, you are supposed to own different tires for different surfaces.
    Wheels without hex adapters are a bad idea^^
    You can cut away parts of the plastic in the back to fit a heat sink.
    I usually buy a 3674 motor which has space for a heat sink, you can then use a small spur gear from a slash/erevo and a fitting pininon, that all using a 5mm shaft. More big, more durable^^
    There are different sizes of motor mounts made from aluminum, they work as a heatsink as well.

    rpm has a transmission case with an aluminum back and to my understanding the heat transfer into the aluminum from the motor works much better than the stock plastic.

    Cock the front wheel against the front axle to hold it while you remove the nut. The nylock nut is self locking and thats why the axle spins when you try to remove it. Also get a very small set of torx bits. Use one that fits to remove the set screw for your gearing. They grab better than an allen once damaged.

    This was a great video! It would 100% help someone who is thinking about getting this! If you upgrade the entire shock, go for proline, or the more popular option, the traxxas upgrade shocks.
    I think the bandit could be a heck of a car with minor upgrades! If you can't get the wheel off before you go live, i will help you guys in the chat. Same thing happened to my NEW car...
    (vid on that soon enough)
    Great video!!!

    • @airbornerc4654
      @airbornerc4654  3 года назад +2

      Thank you! Yep, I think the Bandit will be a perfect car with just a couple of upgrades. While filming the part on the motor, I didn't even think to mention that an esc fan could probably help keep it cool. So there really aren't any big issues, besides the wheel problem. Thanks for watching 👍👊😉

  • @druscanam
    @druscanam 2 года назад

    The grub screw issue is not exclusively a traxxas thing but user error ignorance that alot of people including myself has experienced. Manufacturers use loctite or even super glue to prevent the grub screw from backing out.
    Before you attempt to remove any pinion grub screw on any rtr vechile be sure to heat up with a lighter, blow torch or soldering iron on its highest setting.
    This will melt the locitte allowing the grub screw to be removed.

    I replaced the original Brushed motor with a brushless setup. Someone on the web did a video on their setup and it hooks up to the original receiver with no changes. This car REALLY wakes up with brushless. I changed to the faster gear setup. The wheels on mine are good( I run in dirt) yet. I did notice they are already worn some. Eventually I will go with better wheels and tires. Compaired to the Slash Ultimate....there is none. I can say the Bandit now keeps up with my two Dromida Truggies now as far as speed. I converted them both to brushless right out of the box. They still run awesome although parts are getting hard to find and people think they are worth a lot more used than they are worth so I refuse to buy any available.

    I have a Rustler 4x4 and I would like to get involved with outdoor and/or indoor racing. What I have come to realize is that there just really aren’t classes for Rustlers (especially 4x4s), so I am considering a 2wd buggy and naturally the Bandit came up. Is this a good machine for someone looking to do some races? Talking outdoor dirt/sand tracks.

    • @airbornerc4654
      @airbornerc4654  2 года назад +1

      Yeah, a lot of people don't consider the Rustler much of a racer compared to others. The Bandit is definitely a better vehicle at it, but I would actually say go for something like a Team Associated instead of a Bandit. The Bandit is more of a speed car out of the box, whereas Team Associated vehicles are ready to race right when you get them. Thanks for watching! 😉👊👍

      Amazon should have those tires. Also, the 4x4 slash and bandit are completely different machines. I wouldn't run a bandit on grass. It's mostly made for running on pavement and concrete. 4x4 slash on the other hand does way better off road than the bandit
