    Thank you for the comparison. I personally prefer the gravity-fed refill design of the Jupiter. It's a simple design, but that's not a bad thing. I think as long as you're careful not to crossthread the caps, the odds of an overfill situation are probably pretty remote. Then again, it only takes one time to get burned LOL

    The peristaltic pump for resin recovery seems like a more elegant solution than Elegoo or Anycubic’s sending solution, however what is there to stop hardened bits of resin in the vat from being sent back into the bottle and creating free radicals that can mess up future prints?

    Fantastic video, I think the difference in the structure of both machines comes down to cost savings. Although the Jupiter is very sturdy, I'm happier with the weight and cost savings gained by the Max's plastic cover. I think the Jupiter is a little "over the top" considering the build volume. The shipping costs are also massive. The Max generally has free shipping.

    • @RCREVIEWS101
      @RCREVIEWS101 10 месяцев назад

      shipping costs usally are FREE SHIPPING, you can easily put a pipe out for the fumes on Jupiter, with M3 MAX you simply cannot contain the fumes inside, also its technology is a POS with a slow mo procesor, display looks like comes from the 90's. VERY diapointed with the M3 MAX

      @@twinstalk The more I think about this, I have to wonder if that vertical play would make any difference in the print quality. It seems like the only thing it would effect would be the lift height. After looking more closely, it looks like the coupler itself is stretching, and that is the source of the movement. Regardless, I would think adding an extra mm to the lift height would be enough to accommodate the linear flex.

      I've had the Jupiter for a few months and it's definitely the best printer I've used, I returned my M3 MAX and used the money to buy the saturn 2..
      I've not had any play in my build plate and I've done a bunch of large prints that maxed out my z axis to within 2mm and the prints have been absolutely perfect, since it arrived I've sold both of my mono x's as well because the Jupiter is a beast!

I believe Anycubic come with protective screen between LCD and FEP film, will it have any effect on the UV power that have to go through additional layer of glass? Longer exposure time than Elegoo?

    • @twinstalk
      @twinstalk  2 года назад +2

      Thanks. No prints yet. The screen protector should not have an influence on the uv light source power i.e. exposure time. These screen protectors do have a very high light permeability. I will test with the screen protector on. Just have to wait for elegoo service to responde to my email. Did send it out today.

  • @zachcrawford5
    @zachcrawford5 Год назад

    Why does a refill "system" even need a pump? Just have a holder that holds the opening of your resin bottle in the vat at whatever depth your want your resin to stay at. That's it. The resin will pour out of the bottle until the level in the vat reaches the opening of the bottle. Once the resin reaches the opening of the bottle, air can no longer get into the bottle and a partial vacuum is formed in the bottle preventing more resin from filling the vat. When the level in the vat drops below the opening of the bottle once more, air can rush in equalizing the pressure in the bottle allowing some more resine to flow out. It's super simple. No pumps, no power, no sensors or computers needed, nothing extra to clean, will work with any bottle and is basically fail proof.
    There simple ways to make this even better, like drilling one hole in the top of the lid and another on the neck at the desired resin depth, this way air isn't trying to enter the bottle the same way resin is trying to leave and with smaller holes, it's much easier to remove the bottle without too much spillage.

    I like the weight and construction, and I think the feeding system of the Elegoo Jupiter, but I need it to be larger.
    I might have to get a Mega 8K from Phrozen as I am printing 1 to 4 foot models of Star Trek ships, so the least amount of pieces that I can make to model them, the happier I am about it.
    I have had problems with the auto resin feed on the M3 Max, which from what I have seen, It works well or not at all.
    I have also had issues with Anycubic CS, and waiting forever for parts to ship.
    I don't like that the Jupiter is 6K also. It is probably Stupid on my part and my models are somewhat simple, but if any of these companies come out with a 10K, or 12k model and can print on like a 20 inch screen like 2 feet on the Z axis and can be like in the 6000 dollar range, I will be there.

    • @lorinrobbins7911

      @@twinstalk while there may be a problem with the printer that has yet to be diagnosed, I’m sure it’s more user error. Having been in most of these groups too many don’t understand what they’re doing. They refuse to look for solutions, won’t take advice, and sully a product that they shouldn’t even poses. I’ve read Amazon reviews where they returned a printer because it wouldn’t print an stl no mater how many times they leveled it.
      Before the Jupiter was released many on that page told new users to get a cheap compact printer to learn on. They barely had the funds to purchase the Jupiter and didn’t think of the resin it would consume, to even fathom learning on something more affordable. Now you see them posting that they don’t have a wash and cure system to go along with it, when there’s plenty of options.
      After closely looking at your video I would look at where the ball screw sits in the collar. Is it seated completely and correctly? Also is that a flex collar? It on its own will cause the deflection you showed. Are both ends tight, and seated fully? I would look at those first to diagnose the problem. Second I would also inspect the backlash components to make sure they are correctly installed. Lastly if those are all correct then I would look into the ball and screw. Are they matched tolerances? Is the ball the correct diameter? Remember machine parts will have a tighter tolerance with grease or oil. Could the parts be under lubricated and that’s the cause of deflection. I’d be curious to know if these would be the same questions their tech department would ask.
      Again I’m looking forward to your other videos comparing the two, and I hope you find a solution for the Jupiter.

    I use Chitubox, but it converts the files into Anycubic files which has issues.
    I have been looking at Phrozen Mega 8K but I have seen some negative reviews on that, but that will happen with any and I am sure all of them.
    I have had to wait 3 weeks to get a replacement screen. That Sucks as I have been selling Star Trek models on Ebay, and now have to wait.
