    The autofill looks like a great design to limit the amount of equipment that is touching the resin. We will have to see how long the seal lasts on the bottles because the pressure system requires a good seal.

    Re-purpose the metal frame as a heat chamber! In Canada my office is usually really cold and I would have failed prints, a chamber to heat the resin would be a game changer

    Ok. Asking your your opinion. I have multiple FDM printers and very satisfied. I’ve avoided resin as I prefer to not get into the post processes, clean up, and toxic materials. Most toxic I get is with ABS which I don’t do much with ABS. I do a lot of things with Arduino, Raspberry, stepper motors, etc. I wonder if I should get into resin as sometimes, but not often, I have to triple think designs, bed orientations, etc. Curious if you would recommend resin for someone like me. Amazon Prime days are approaching so might be some deals, specifically in anycubic printers.

    Can you do a print quality comparison video between the Anycubic Photon M3 Max vs the $11,000 Formlabs Form 3L that you have in your battle station? I would love to see if there's any discernible print quality difference especially since Form 3L has a seam and the M3 Max doesn't seem to have any Seamlines etc?

    I bought it and was sad about the printing time. Whether I slice it in Chitu or Anycubic's own software, the print time doubles when we send it to print. 30 minute prints on my Halot One are done in 2 hours on the M3 MAX. Disappointment.

  • @C-M-E

    While I've had a fairly rocky history with Anycubic's FDM printers and some QC issues, this machine does have some very attractive features and for the space the machine is in, the price is competitive. I'm still wondering why none of the more mainstream manu's offer a factory flexplate, cuz god do they make printing much more conducive to frequent prints and overall easier removal/clean-up!
    Mark me interested, though the lifecycle of some of those other features that are consumables (like the screen) will be a matter of time and ultimately manufacturing process control. Slicers also are the life and death of the user experience, and all told, I'm not a huge fan of Photon Workshop, though it's serviceable. There are worse for sure.

    Anycubic Photon M3 Max questions for any kind soul please:
    1. What frequency is the FEP supposed to be tuned to?
    2. Does the FEP spacer still require the "13mm" bottle cap depicted in their official FEP Replacement video or is the M3 Max a different calibration? (I have seen some 19mm spacers from users.)
    3. What is the torque setting for the screws on the FEP sheet?
    4. Replacing the Glass under the LCD left a gap on one side is there a way to combat this? As the adhesive strip needs to be as far out of the print area, and on the perimeter as possible.
    5. Anyone able to fix the touch screen not responding often?
    Generic Questions:
    1. Does anyone consider that the FEP has to be the same temperature as during normal operations while installing the new sheet? I'm sure temperature has some (if negligible) difference?

    My main concern with these auto feed systems is that it doesn't stir the resin...which can lead to issues down the road. For things as simple as pigment separation, to even individual component separation which will lead to failures - there's a reason they tell you to shake the bottle for a few minutes first.

    • @3DPrintingNerd
      @3DPrintingNerd  2 года назад +1

      Agree with you - this auto feed works as print insurance but isn’t a long term “let the resin sit” solution.

    • @HEMASimian
      @HEMASimian 2 года назад +1

      @@3DPrintingNerd 100%. I'm just worried about people who are going to take it as a "let the resin sit" solution, and then once they get to the 2nd half of their resin bottle they won't be able to get proper prints anymore because the chemical balance of the components are going to be too off.
      I've seen it happen before from people who don't shake their resin enough - at first things print okay but once they get to the second half of the bottle they can't get anything to print anymore because it's all messed up and they need to get new resin.

    • @phun1901

    I like the auto-fill idea. But I question the practicality of it. The resin needs to be shaken before you pour it out of the bottle. Given that, how can resin be sufficiently mixed before it pours it into the vat automatically? That being said/asked, OMG that build plate/volume is dream-wothy.

      I agree, but for me I was a little disappointed when I first purchased a Mars pro and a wash&cure with it. At the beginning it was messy and felt slightly complicated but now 6 month later I love it. I prefer to use it over my heavily modified CR10, if I dont need a large part. Its faster quieter and all I need to do is put in a file and with almost 99% of the time I get a supper clean highly detailed stronger print...I am saving up to get a larger resin printer now like the M3 Max..But it may not be for everyone..

    how does the bottle connect to the printer? -can any bottle fit? I know some have a plug in outlet that you invert bottles into, this one looks to be a screw in.
    Do you think Anycubic will make a wash and cure to pair with this machine?

    • @3DPrintingNerd
      @3DPrintingNerd  2 года назад +1

      Not sure about the wash and cure. For the bottle, it’s a cap that fits Anycubic bottles. Not all bottles fit as of yet.

      @@3DPrintingNerd thanks for the very quick reply!
      I feel they might make one to compliment this printer size just because that is the direction many resin printers are going.
      I guess you can just reuse an anycubic bottle afterwards. Some ppl buy bulk or mix so that makes sense. An adapter -or even better a reusable bottle might be a nice future idea. Even add an end to refill the bottle with the pump connection on the other side, like a gas tank. Reduce the amount one has to adjust and fiddle with the printer tank and reduce spills.

      @Becvar80 2 года назад

      I'm assuming they went with this design to ensure a proper seal. With the pump pushing air into the bottle to push the resin, a poor seal would result in resin spilling everywhere

      The pickup for the Autofill needs a 1L bottle.. 500ml is about an inch too short on height *has an M3 Max as well* I was a little disappointed at that revelation.. although it didn't matter too much as I had a 1L bottle from Anycubic to transfer into

      That's not just "a little bigger"

    Forgive me - I'm sure this is a dumb question, but I'm so new to this stuff. Does a 7K monochrome screen create sharper detail than a Sonic Mini 4K...? More "K" equals more fine detail?

    • @ilovetechnology8436
      @ilovetechnology8436 2 года назад

      More pixels but over a larger surface (46µ XY resolution for M3 Max) vs less pixels over a smaller surface (35µ XY resolution for Mini 4K). So the Mini 4K should be sharper.

    High five is really ableist, what if you had lost one finger? it's really inconsiderate :) eff woke.
    Looks like a very nice printer and from the small prints you can deduce what it's capable off but printing small kinda misses the point. You could have printed a bobafett helmet or ironman or a raging bunny dildo :) the thing about a machine like this is that it can actually make production quality molds.
    I wonder if for really large prints if a scanning laser would be great for 1 meter size or more for shapes that are relatively continuous like aircraft hull or car door. If a sweeping laser could be plenty fast and fairly inexpensive. That way it would be possible to make large molds fast and cost effectively. Not having to rely on a bizarre resolution display
