Thank you! By far, your video has given me the most confidence that I could do this! I'll let you know how it goes when it's done! Thanks again!
Thanks to you and the camera person. LOL
Thanks Drew! And congrats for your baby... God bless your family.
Hey I like that you’re a regular joe shmoe with the balls to take on unknown projects. Good for you. I’m going to attempt my starter for my 2009 Jeep Wrangler.
Nice video
Correct: Long bolt in bottom hole (also through heat shield lower tab hole with star washer to secure heat shield), short bolt in upper hole and metal zip tie through middle hole and heat shield tab hole.
Hint: Use a deeper socket on upper bolt for better clearance and a flex head ratchet . It is a lot easier if you disconnect the front drive shaft flange from the pinion flange.
BTW: 40 ft-lb on starter bolts, 100 in-lb on power lug and 81 ft-lb on drive shaft flange bolts (Blue loctite also)
Nice video
40 minutes. LOL. It took me 4 hours to get 1 bolt out and I can't find the others. Stupid driveshaft is in the way.
Not sure how you’re getting driveshaft interference? If you’ll notice. The exhaust is the only thing somewhat in the way. Are you sure you’re working on the starter the starter will have some aluminum and cardboard paper type protection around it. Be sure you’re removing the right thing. And don’t be deterred by it taking 4hrs. Sometimes the simple stuff takes me so long. So many factors so be positive and however long it takes to finish at least you finished! Next time will likely be much faster!
@@dangerdrew313 How is there not a giant drive shaft an inch from that top bolt
@@MuahMan that an exhaust collector my friend
The front driveshaft is closer to the spring and hub and shouldn’t interfere at all. The brown dirty rusty tube is 100% not a driveshaft
The driveshaft is definitely massively in the way. Your Jeep is not like most.
Is this a two wheel drive Jeep? Where is the front drive shaft? On my 2009 4 wheel drive Jeep the front drive shaft means you cannot turn the ratchet as the drive shaft interferes. I found that if you jack up the Jeep on the frame, you do get more room.
It looks like some aftermarket front driveshaft... I have the giant stock one too lol
My guess is that there is a lift kit on the vehicle, which will drop the driveshaft away from the engine a bit over stock.
I don't have that much room on my jeep Wrangler 08
