Best bet is to go to a Jeep parts website and put in your year and model and it will give you the factory part number to look online for the best price. The number on your part may be outdated
@@motorcarnut I believe you are correct, the updated part number for a 2011 Jeep Wrangler is 04685719AI , although it’s a little tough trying to find a dealer that will sell this part. Thank you for your feedback.
Could you please provide a link to where you found that part. I’m searching all the numbers on mine and cannot find anything.

Sure, no problem
How do you know it the ignition switch and not the nutual safety switch
A easy test is to put the vehicle in neutral, if the light on the dash says N and it still doesn’t start it’s the ignition switch
Great video!! I replaced my ignition switch, now my key fob isn’t working? Any idea why?
That seems weird. You mean to open and close the doors?
@@motorcarnut yeh, none of the buttons work anymore. They stopped right after I replaced my ignition.
Try reprogramming it.
What are symptoms of a failed ignition switch?
Car won’t start, won’t start sometimes, stalls while running, accessories don’t work properly etc.
You try to give the video more brightness it will be great if you do
Video seems fine, adjust your devices brightness maybe will be better.
whats the part number
You have to look up your specific vehicle on the Jeep parts website to get the part number you want.
My biggest issue is getting the plastic piece off and you didn’t show us how to do that.
What piece are you referring to? The bottom plastic piece on the steering column? If so I explained that it’s 3 torx screws and it comes right out.
