I've got a low mileage first generationHonda Ridgeline. I've seen a number of them for sale with over 300k miles.
Hey Scotty, I've heard advice to not buy a car the first year it's been redesigned, why?
“ it’s got a couple of cup holders, typical Chrysler”

So true
Scotty loves shitting all over Chrysler products 😂
I mean Chrysler Is shitty. We had a 1995 Dodge Intrepid in 1996 transmission went out, then my mum got a 1996 Chrysler Town & Country in 1997 transmission also went out. My friends uncle got a 2003 Dodge Ram in 2004 and same, Transmission went out as well.
That car was NOT taken care of at all. It’s not poor quality it’s the driver’s poor maintenance and driving habits.
Agreed. I just got rid of my 2010 challenger and it was in significantly better condition.

Considering how bad this customer treats his Charger, I'm quite surprised that it's still in such good shape mechanically. Proves that it can be a decently reliable car. I've seen used chargers in much better shape esthetically than this, just need to take care of them.
Agreed. I got a 14' R/T with 80,000 miles. Been a great car, and I keep it garaged. I also take care of it.
I think that’s the same with every vehicle. People really just beat the hell out of their cars and then wonder why everything broke down when it does.
@@freelanceryuu That's especially why I've heard why you shouldn't buy a used rental car...

It almost makes me want to drive to Houston just so Scotty can work on a clean car for once!
I wonder what his review would be like if the car wasn't full of trash and taken care of. Mine is a year older and my lug nuts aren't rusty nor is my leather cracked.

I rented a 2020 Charger and I have to say I was impressed with this large, comfortable car. The one I had was equipped with the V6. It had plenty of power.

Next episode: “I was wrong about a lot of cars, they all have flaws”
I love when you do these reviews of older model cars!
I had a 2014 charger SXT V6 rear wheel drive from 20k to 100k miles. It ran like a champ and no issues at all outside the factory warranty. The V6 Pentastar engine is extremely reliable as long as the oil is changed!
Since everyone is talking mileage, I have a 13 v6 with 160k miles on it. Runs like a dream still and being 6'4", this car is great for bigger guys. Other than maintenance I had to change the fuel pump at 140k miles (it's under the back seat and took 15 minutes). P.S. That is a lot of city miles because I am a rideshare driver with 1,500+ trips all in this car.

Thanks for doing a video on the charger I've owned a 2014 se v6 exactly like the one in your video. Only difference is mine is black on black. The only thing I've had to do, other than oil changes is the front ball joints and the oil filter assembly leaking; which seemed to be a problem this model has. Nothing major thank God, only had 63,000 when I purchased it and I've put about 30,000 in 3 1/2 years still going strong think I got blessed with this vehicle seeking as it will probably be the last one I own. Scotty finally makes the video I have been waiting for ...and doesnt talk about anything except the damage. Can you please do a video on the engine/trans etc.
Great review Scotty. I own a 2019 Charger RT Plus. I bought the Charger because I purchased a 16 Caravan for work and now with 105k, it has had the least problems of any vehicle I've owned. If you treat them right, they treat you right. You drive them into the ground, you have issues. I don't expect to put endless miles on a car and not having to service it. I also realize that you need to do more than oil changes. I address issues early. Previously I was a Volvo, VW and Ford driver. I was always at the dealer with one failure after another. I have 3k on the Charger and I must admit, I love the thing. The sound and feel when driving are awesome. It looks great, and I can fit three golf bags in the trunk without putting the seats down in the back! Can't do that in a Mustang.
I'm glad they sorted things out with the newer 3.6 V6 over the older 2.6 V6. I've always love crown vicrorias and when the police switched over to the charger I thought they looked so cool but I was really disappointed when I heard they had quality and reliable issues because that's a huge part of what makes the crown vics so great

We rented one in Utah last year and about about 1000 miles on it - other than the seats were not very supportive it was a decent car. @@umerthemagnificent8672 No I’m not the first owner, my aunt used the car before me as a commuter back then. For one don’t race it like it’s a sport car, and just make sure to change the fluids ie engine/transmission. How many miles is yours? As far as the engine goes, it’s pretty solid. Dodge cars have a problem with the shifter, there’s a plastic piece that will break overtime which allows you to take your car from park into gear. You can replace the plastic assembly piece with a metal one or get a new shifter module. I just opened the assembly and manually pressed the safety button to take it out of park, that works too. And for the chain assembly I guess it depends on how many miles you got in order for it to wear down. You can replace that with the metal one.

Those are aftermarket diys black wheels, and the missing exhaust tip most likely was the result of driver error backing into something. But glad you are starting to come around a little-lol. Stay well!
I’ve had my ‘12 Durango Pentastar V6 since April 2012 and I’m still on my original headlights, directionals, taillights and break lights. Scott, I had a mechanic change both rear wheel hubs. About 3 weeks later the ABS, wheel traction and check engine lights all came on. Took the car back and he said the wheel axels were shot. So he replaced them. Am I getting ripped off.
Sorry the car is a 2016 dodge charger V6.
My 2012 SRT Charger still drives like new. Very smooth ride with a lot of power.
Id love to buy one but theyre still like $40000 CAD lol
If I know my car is going to be featured in a video, I'd at least vacuum it out lol
I've been thinking about picking up a v6, but heard Chargers were pretty crappy. Thanks for the review! I might have to take another look into them.
Hey Scotty I have a 2004 Honda Civic that just ended up not starting the battery & starter are good I’m guessing it’s the fuel pump or the spark plugs what do you think it is? Ps live your vids good mechanic
Scotty, thank you for at least looking at this objectively. Wish I could bring my 2013 over and let you look at one that is in good shape, with a HEMI/5.7, 167K miles, 350 idle hours, and still runs with only one issue. Needs break pads that I plan to get replaced, Napa got racing spec pads ready for me. Other than that, she have good wheels, paint on her is great. She was made in "Canada" , that we do agree on. Sometimes it the owner who is the issue i.e used soda can, the interior is begging for Armorall, and yea it hurts to see that
She is definitely a beautiful, spacious ride, solid ride. Only paid 8K for the old DA's car. As for bottom of the line, Camaro I believe has that slot answering a few comments below. At least for me.
Man, get Powerstop's performance pads and rotors. You'll love em
@@treyroberts8124 if I survive the human malware and still have my job. Yes I will. I heard they are great at controlling high speeds. I would love to do it now but I need to be able to feed the family first.
Hi, man and I don’t want to waste your time. Just need some advice from you and I am trying to buy one old charger with good mileage and can you advice how to make it last long and what mileage should I replace. Are you the first owner?
the price on these things just hit the roof
Nate S. They rose?
I still wouldn't buy a FCA car no matter how good I think it looks.
@@djpmaddog90 This isn't a FCA car, FCA merger happened in 2014. This car obviously wasn't built after then.
Theres one is red for $5k
Drove a nice red Dodge Charger rental in 1970 NYC to Illinois, nice car - real eye catcher -- , but was summer and no AC! Still remember my left arm sticking out the window getting sunburned
Scotty, thanks for your videos. What about the Police package Dodge and the older Crown Vic Fords?
I own a 15 charger with 170k on it and she hasn't let me down
What the hell do you do to put so such mileage on it in a short amount of time?
Or did you mean you have a 2005 Charger?
My 2011 has 161k. Still riding strong and looks like new! Getting that hemi one day though.
Jedno Florestal I help escort oversize loads like mobile homes wind turbine blades or heavy construction vehicles or equipment so I travel all around the US
sheenamariebee same here just patience is key
@@Destinationreached Oh ok. So mostly highway mileage.
I always thought heavy haulers paid for the escort vehicles. I would never agree to use my own. That mileage is nothing for a tractor but on a car that's ridiculous.
Wow Scotty. Dodge. You're starting to mellow.
It's because Chargers and Challengers are actually pretty good cars considering. Chrysler puts all their money into them since they are pretty much their flagship vehicles.
Scotty Looking at a low milage base truck. V6 3.6 pentastar RAM 1500 or V6 3.3 F-150? Probably single cab and not going to tow or carry heavy loads. Which one would you recommend?
Scotty, I watch almost all of your video's and I'm a big fan, how do I get you to answer my question? Thank you, John
I like to puff on the Cannabis Cigar and get all schmoked up while watching the Scotty Kilmers videos.
I had the same issue with the power steering on my 2011. You just need to change the fluid out and it will be smooth again
Try the 3.6 Pentastar in an Avenger...similar power in a smaller package, it is downright GTO-esque (as long as you can forgive the fwd). 👍 Have loved every minute driving my '13.
I swear whenever I’m on the road there’s always at least one Charger in my line of sight.
That's true. They're always in sight.
Joel Inzerillo maybe just maybe they have sold lots of them because they are fun sedans
I live in NY, everyone has Chargers and Rams, they are everywhere
It makes sense why they're popular. The V6 Chargers are kinda fun and relatively cheap.
@@tenhundredkills Pretty much the last of the front engine rear wheel drive cars. At least affordable ones.
