Well done G. Glad to see you with all that's been going on recently. Plastic carburetors hmmm, who would have thunk.

Thanks Hank! All is well here- hope the same for you. My lawn boy has one and it's been running for about 18yrs. Still seems strange I agree. G.

Good to another video from you G. I just love those Briggs engines with the plastic carbs. (not) Hope you and your family are doing well. Stay Safe. Stay Healthy!

Thanks man! It's the first one I've come across. We're doing well, hope you are too. Take care, G.

Nice score G! Wondering if they got water in the bowl by washing it with that little barb port (metered air leak)? Probably just didn't know to remove the gas when it sits over winter. I paid dearly for my Husqvarna AWD but need it here for about a 3rd acre of grass, takes the load off an old geezer...hopefully my grand kids will get it when I'm gone. Good to see another video from you, always a pleasure!

Thanks PJ! Please refer to Mike Morgan's comment and my reply to him. I believe that's what's going on with the barbed port.
Agreed, he didn't remove the ethanol and ran the mower dry. We have extremely high humidity here so the hydroscopic traits of ethanol wreaks havoc on small engines around here. It seems like he went to the extremes trying to find a problem when it was merely water in the gas.
Glad the Husqvarna is working out well for you. I've never really looked into them.
      Take care, G.

I think that little white hose barb on the carb is for primer bulbs when they are located in different locations on different models. Is that barb open? That's one thing that always bothered me about the "newer" style big primer bulbs on 2 stroke Lawn Boys. There is a hole right on top and no filter. It's not really pulling air when running, but there's gotta be at least some dust getting in there, only to be forced into the carb bowl when you prime it. I guess cleaning the carb annually reveals what gets in that little hole. Ha!
BTW, how's the old LB running?

That makes sense Mike. It was open, but after thinking about your comment- I believe the port is blocked off by the gasket and or the backing plate for the filter. When I went to order the filter, the parts breakdown showed about 4 different options for plates and covers.
I agree on the LB bulbs and their placement.
The LB is still running great and refuses to die. I believe it's about 18yrs. old now. It's my favorite because it's light, nimble, fast, and short. I don't like mowing with the 4 stroke stuff. Take care, G.
