Certainly a band that rarely lets you down & have always been fairly consistent! I’d agree with you on a few of the lower ranked albums, still good songs, but some do pass you by! For me their 1st 2 releases are their best!! Nice ranking sir!🤘🏻
Yeah, when I bought "The End Complete" when it was first released, I bought it on cassette tape. I too wasn't very impressed with it when I first gave it a listen and I know exactly why...it's because I had spent countless hours listening to their greatest album to date, "Cause of Death". That's a hard album to follow considering every track on it is phenomenal and heavy, COD is one heavy death metal masterpiece and it's always been my #1 Obituary album of all time.
Awesome ranking James. Obituary one of my favourite Death Metal bands, still have quite a few albums to go though. What I've heard so far I can't argue with your No.1, it's awesome. I'll defo have to get some more Obituary CD's in the future 😊😀🤘🤘
interesting. The first song I heard was don't care because it always played on tv and I didn't care for that song lol. But when I heard redneck stomp etc on spotify I liked it.
100% agree on Darkest Days being their worst and Executioner's return being their second worst albums. I just felt Ralph never fit the band. He's playing is too technical, and Obituary are not a technical band. I have all of Obituary's albums and those are the two I go to the least. Although I disagree on Frozen in Time, I fucking loved that album and played the shit out of it! I was so happy for the return of Obituary. I would put it one step ahead of Inked in Blood, but honestly were getting to the point where there are no weak albums after Darkest Days and Executioner's Return. I would say I even like Frozen in Time more than the self titled album, which is hard to say because the self titled was so damn good and Kenny brought a lot of freshness into the band. It's hard to argue that the self titled is better than Frozen In Time and Back From the Dead, I just have more time with those albums. So they stand out in the memory more for me. Regardless though my top four will always be #1 Cause of Death #2 The End Complete #3 World Demise #4 Slowly We Rot.
I enjoyed the rankings you came up with. Nice to hear others opinions on my favorite bands. You gave lots of praise and compliments which are well deserved to this band. I appreciate the care and recognition. Obituary is the best cheers!
Cool ranking. It'll be a good reference. Good to see the self titled up there. It's the only one I have of theirs and I think it's great, so I'll check out the top 3 first and go from there. 🤘🤘
11. Xecutioner's Return 10. Darkest Day 9. World Demise 8. Inked in Blood 7. Dying of Everything 6. Obituary 5. Back from the Dead 4. Slowly We Rot 3. Frozen in Time 2. The End Complete 1. Cause of Death
@@mrboulder9714 Got into Obituary when I was 15 through tape trading I'm now 45 and still to this day I return to cause of death and the end complete, I think they are the ac/dc of death metal, pure face melters. One sub closer to the 500 courtesy of Josh K. Only started listening to music in general 4 years ago and started collecting metal the last 3 to 4 years. I remember Obituary from the very early 90s how couldn't you remember. I have all but one album on cd and although I haven't listened to them all enough times for my own personal ranking, I'm very inclined to agree with as good as every position you've ranked them in, I certainly wouldn't agrue. I totally agree with The End Complete being second but initially I also didn't think massively highly of it, but I was comparing it solely to Cause of Death probably my favourite death metal album of all time. 🤘🏻☠️🤘🏻
Hey man thanks for checking out the channel. Yeah I was initially underwhelmed by The End Complete too but now I think it's a fine slab of Death Metal. Cause of Death is easily their best, it's a perfect album. Thanks again man
@@mrboulder9714 no problem, I like the fact you gave Josh some albums to help him with his collection so it's the least I could do. I watched this video as I'm not into Alice in Chains but I'll watch any new videos and if I ever get a chance I'll check some older ones too. 🤘🏻
Well you know you were going to get support from us on this band. The Tardy brother are legends that n the genre. Great video and I enjoyed your thoughts on the releases. I actually made a video last night with Cause of Death as my background music. Codi and I were lucky enough to see them in a small venue in December before everything shut down. Great guys. Going to see Terry and his band in September! Thanks Mr. B (A)
Great job with the Obituary ranking, they are one of my favorite bands. My ranking is not too far off but I would have Slowly We Rot a bit higher (probably #3-4). Cause of Death is definitely their best album IMO. They are also my favorite live band - I’ve seen them 36 times with my first show all the way back on the Slowly We Rot tour.
I don’t own them all (5 picking up a 6th soon) so I can only judge on what I know but it’s pretty much my take on them too. How you went back to The End Complete and loved it I done that when I recently revisited World Demise. I’d also agree Cause is in the lead comfortably, Possessed logo always looks great on a shirt too
Your ears looks like a little kids hands that's asking for sweets lol. Good video mate just joking respect. I'm turning 39 and still like my metal. Respect to you for making a video like that at your age Sir. I like Obituary. They cool. Like the dark distortion. Metallica. Megadeth. Pantera. Obituary. My 4 fav. Bands. The pic is not me. I'm not that into Death Metal , don't mind Jungle Rot .... Ive got The Tardy Brothers ''Bloodline'' on CD but no Orbituary ... go figure ? ....anyway , great video again James .
@@mrboulder9714 It basically sounds like an Obituary album but thrashier. I really like it. I think it's better than Darkest Days and Executioner's Return if that means anything.
@@mrboulder9714 My biggest criticism of it is that it sounds so much like Obituary that I asked myself "What's the point?" It's not enough of a departure from the core Obituary sound. They should have just saved these songs for an Obituary album
I would say World Demise is my number 1
