A band I was in a few years back played with obituary... got to hang out and chat with Trevor for a while and he was totally fkn cool made me love obituary even more
Guys who play real death metal are the nicest people out there. Down to earth, not pretentious and most of all always having fun. Long live OBITUARY! A fan since '91.
Kenny is an amazing addition to the line up and it has definitely brought a lot of great stuff for Obituary... he shreds like crazy and I love the way he does the old solos. Seeing them in Cagliari Sardinia was just outstanding. The place (CUEVA ROCK) was going NUTS! Very grateful to this band.
Extremely cool guys - no pretense, no "look at me look at me" stuff - and that is why I like them. Yes they can play and I have to say, Trevor's sound is very unique. The 2 guitars sounds together and massive and dimensional. This is a original and unique band with great attitudes. Very happy to see it.
@NinjaDefiler i didnt mate, youtube did.... they deleted 2..... you were right though!.... I thought James Murphy played on those others... guess you learn something new every day
@NinjaDefiler Allen West didnt create the rhythm guitar tone synonymous with Obituary. Trevor rolled back the bridge tone control from day one with Xecutioner. Allen West had a biting lead tone with the bridge pickup tone on full. Trevor's tone is the heart and soul of the band. always was, always will be
Trevor, how can a guy be so easy going and chill and look so fucking scary. I used to have a poster of trevor in the 90's in my room, my girlfriends used to be shit scared of him...
That is funny you mentioned that about Trevor. Back in 1990 Obituary came to Toronto with Sepultura and Sadus and me and a bunch of buddies went to that show my one friend back then from high school was exited to meet Trevor but nervous at the same time because he had those ghoulish sunken eyes which gave him an evil undead look and after the show, he got the guts to go talk to him and realized how cool and down to earth he was and did not tear his heart out of his chest hahaha hahaha. I saw Obituary this past November in Cleveland and talked to both guitarists and they are super cool guys who thanked us for coming out to support them as the opening act for Black Label Society.
I would have known what speakers were in Trevor's cabs...for the rest it's the most complete gear rundown I've ever seen with those close-ups on the settings.
I agree, the tone on that song/record is fucking fantastic. It's fucked up, but it's fantastic. They got fuzz vibes going, but the palm mutes as still tight.
@@philz600 I didn't interview them. I was photographing for a publication and the tour manager and I also filmed some live footage. I was there during the sound check, which was a nightmare, as their guitars had gone missing on the flight to New Zealand. Couple of tracks on my page.
KENNY YOU ARE AMAZING BROTHER// YOU MAKE PLAYING LOOK EASY// AND I KNOW IT IS NOT EASY// KEEP ROCKING GUYS// OBITUARY ARE MY FAVORITE LIVE BAND TODAY \,,,/
I didn't quite understand the kind of bridge pickup Humbucker on Trevor Peres' guitar... I understood... is it Duncan distortion? (if it's in the treble position, it must be a TB6?)
I wondered the same thing. My best guess would be either a JB or maybe even a 59. That sound needs a lower output pickup. I had a TB-6 a couple years ago in my strat, and it was way hotter than the Shawbucker. Pushed the Rat too hard.
@@WildChildMcCloud settings look like the only mid signal comes from the rat, even though his filter also is set at 10 o clock = one third of mid/high....hmm Trevor's secret XD
he said it right in the beginning (in German): it was last year (29.11.2018) in the Olympic hall in Munich/Germany, Slayer´s farewell tour (with Obituary, Anthrax, Lamb of god).
Trevor what a down to earth and chil guy same as Kenny, very nice fellows, love your work since day one.

“I’m glad you were interested.”
Man, what a good dude. Love Trevor!
Caveman Metal. Thats perfect. Obituary the Best band on earth. Simple guitar rigs that sound awesome.

Trevor just rules. Amazing riffs over decades and decades, amazing tone, amazing tracks, super on point player... thanks for sharing this!!!

Indeed. What you write, Trevor's sound is very unique. It makes Obituary sound in an unique way. The riffing style and tone is very recognizable.
what nice guys these fellas are ... thumbs up
Great work guys!!! Trevor Peres is the holy grail of death metal guitar tone!!! Awesome
HELL YES, I CAN TELL IT'S TREVOR AS SOON AS I HEAR IT!!! THAT OBITUARY SOUND// TREVOR PERES RULES\,,,/
@NinjaDefiler you think so? He was only on one album..

Trevor has always been one of my favorite guitarists. Real person, skilled player.
Skilled?
These guys are awesome. Talented and modest. On stage in shape for so many years. Watching them always puts me in good mood. I just love them.
Trevor seems so down to earth. And how simple is that setup! 🤘🏻
TREVOR YOU ARE THE MAN// STATOCASTER SOUNDS AWESOME // THE OBITUARY SOUND// NO DOUBT, YOU ARE AN AMAZING MUSICIAN AND HAVE GREAT STAGE PRESENCE \,,,/
Nice guys! I’ve been a fan since early 90’s 😀 Obituary just has that fantastic sound no other band has… Absolutely brilliant
When that tone kicked in - unmistakeably Obituary.
2 guitars and one pick comment, killed me.
That tone is just so fucking phenomenal! Obituary can never be mistaken!

@@satanacuntfest Thanks for the story. I still hope to see them. They don't come often in Europe, except for big festivals. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
I thought the same especially with the cause of death album photo's. However I Met him in 2002 and he's the most chilled dude
What a great guy. Simple setup perfect brutal tones
Tone all the way down for Trevor sound : the Celtic Frost influence
I would have known what speakers were in Trevor's cabs...for the rest it's the most complete gear rundown I've ever seen with those close-ups on the settings.
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeH yeH yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah 😁
Trevor loves Celtic Frost! Great guy!
Miss riding motorcycles around Central Florida with Kenny . Thanx bro from GSXR Richard.
Talk about a murky/sludgy guitar tone. The End Complete captured it perfectly. Favorite Obituary album by far!
I agree, the tone on that song/record is fucking fantastic. It's fucked up, but it's fantastic. They got fuzz vibes going, but the palm mutes as still tight.
seen Obituary 3 times and they killed on every show they absolute beast live band
Trev is the swamp riff lord, my favourite guitar tone of all time
Best guitar tone ever!!!!
Great to see my high school friend Ken doing good.
No mids !? Insane tone ! Guys looks adorable, great band !
The jcm 800 is a very mid forward amp to begin with. I couldn't believe he had the bass at max.
Cool vid for the longest time was wondering about there rigs and tone thanks guys.
Trevors tone is the best part of Venom and Celtic Frost's sound turned to infinite
Nicest dudes in metal. And Trevor smokes some loud ass weed. Love partying with those dudes
Fucking insane tone!! Is there a man in all of Metal, that sounds more badass than Trevor Peres, playing a Fender Strat?! I don’t fucking think so!
Such cool guys. I was shooting them the other night in New Zealand. Some footage on my channel.
can you send me the Link to your Interview? iI am the Interviewer from this one and felt i left out a couple of questions i should have asked.

Great guys. Very likeable
Chill guys and nice to actually hear the tones for change. 🤟
Thanks guys! You seem like truly nice people. Was looking forward to last night, but the concert here in Pensacola was canceled:-/
Absolutely nice dudes :)
They are! I met Ken once and Trevor 5 times. Last time I met Trevor, he gave me a hug after taking a pic
Cool. That's a good memory. :)
I've known Ken since highschool, but never met Trevor, but Ken is really cool, really good friend
Best gear video on Obituary that I have seen. Need one for drums and bass!

Super great, nice guy’s😃
My fav death metal band by far !!!!
NOT ON THUMBS DOWN BECAUSE TREVOR AND KENNY ARE GOOD GUYS, PROFFESIONALS AND DOWN TO EARTH PEOPLE.
Dedicated to people saying you can't play metal on a strat...
if it has a humbucker in it, it's not a strat anymore
@@tb4234 hahahaha exatly a strat with a dimarzio superdistorition and the other one with a Seymour Duncan…
great tone !!!
Love obituary, one of the best
Great vid..thanks 🤘😃
Man. Love these guys. Wondering if Trevor just uses the new Rats, or LM308 Rats?! He probably doesn't care...
The differences between the two are extremely negligible, the pedal will act the exact same way no matter if there's an LM308 or an OP07 in it.
Pain Principle represent!! If you know, you know.... 🤘
Oh yeah , Kenny Andrews. Used to ride motorcycles with him. Great guy. Miss the FBI in Winter Park.
@@RichardBinder-dx7fk Fairbanks Inn!! Nice, man... I was part of the Intoxicated crew for while... Miss those days.
@@27retrodaze Cool. So glad for Kenny
KENNY GUITAR TECHING FOR TRIVIUM// AWESOME// VERY KNOWLEDGABLE DUDE WITH GUITARS AND ALL THE STUFF THAT GOES INTO IT. \,,,/
What a nice down to earth guy.. He looks like he does a lot of drugs but he doesnt.
Simple setup great sound!
Kenny is so underrated
Total agree! And besides his style he also brought back the legendary Murphy-solos from COD - I always missed them with West!
Trevor is the master of swamp sinking riffs
Just programmed this in my headrush. Got it about 85% similar!
The marshals sound fantastic.
Those guys are really cool :)
Legends✊
Beautiful.
TREVOR I CAN TELL IT'S OBITUARY AS SOON AS YOU JAM \,,,/
Amazing
@Fender - give Trevor Peres a signature strat, I'll buy two! 🤘🏻
I tune D standard same way only thing is I use 52-10s strings and 3.0mm Dunlop purple stubby
Baddddaaaaassss sound ever. Cave man sound :) Crazy
Just Metal at it's Best!!!!!!!
I love how Trever’s just standing I. The back like an npc💀💀💀
Thanks for that man

@@WildChildMcCloud JB ? is it a SH4 model ?
@@jimperium77 yes Trevor uses the JB model.
I love the Obituary guitar tone
Those dive bombs tho
🖤
The bass is like turned up completely but literally no mids lol
I hear plenty of mids
@@WildChildMcCloud settings look like the only mid signal comes from the rat, even though his filter also is set at 10 o clock = one third of mid/high....hmm Trevor's secret XD
Your English accent is very good
Sickest fucking guitar tone ever. Obviously derived from Celtic Frost's sound but perfected by Trevor.
Yep
Did someone managed to reproduce Trevor's tone ?
Just buy one good strat in your life and you are good forever!
Less is more!
I was always searching and buying guitars with active pickups and floyd rose, just to get a fender and never put it down lmao
I agree 👍
yeah yeah
Evertime someone tells me a strats not metal. I say obituary
Seems like he buys his own, I don't think they have sponsors for anything...
Fuck yeah Trevor!!!
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah of Doom
Ken Andrews - 8:37
What show was this filmed at?
he said it right in the beginning (in German):
it was last year (29.11.2018) in the Olympic hall in Munich/Germany, Slayer´s farewell tour (with Obituary, Anthrax, Lamb of god).
what duncan did trevor say he was using?
shawbucker
A lot of people seem to think they use their neck pickups. This confirms no.
Which Seymour Duncan pickups is it at 2:33 ???
JB
Trevor prefers 50W heads. Very interesting...
what riff song did he play?
Frozen in time - insane
Listen to the real amp, then the kemper. Tubes aint goin nowhere boys.
Nancy hahahahahahahaha
hi Dan, I thought I remembered you from my group on facebook.
cave man metal lol
Nicht mal den Bandnamen richtig aussprechen können. Sogar der Kleine von Little Punk People kann´s. Echt peinlich für den Moderator
Hah i knew it. I always turn off my tone knob then say "hey look, Obituary tone." Lol!
"Caveman Metal"...
