39:09 I agree with Link, that saying there is a twist or huge reveal in something is a spoiler. It changes the viewing experience for sure, and not for the better imo when you’re constantly looking for the twist or to appear (or for subtle cues/clues about the twist beforehand).
Imo you’re not able to simply sit back and enjoy/absorb the movie, as a first-time experience as the director/artists intended. The fact that Rhett agrees, that watching a movie for the 2nd time knowing the twist/huge reveal is a different experience, illustrates my point. *I want to be completely blindsided and my mind blown by a plot twist/reveal, not expecting it the whole time.*

I’m convinced some of these people have undiagnosed Anxiety or ADHD. The “what you say” thing is a huge sign of auditory processing disorder, a common issue with ADHD. (I have both, so speaking from personal experience only)

    • @singingislove121
      @singingislove121 3 года назад +5

@Kingsley P they definitely work, but it depends on the combo you’re prescribed (it can take some time to find the right ones for you). I recommend going through the diagnostic process, because even if you choose to not go the medication route, a formal diagnosis can provide you with the right path of coping skills. There are therapists that specialize in ADHD and other things that especially with a formal diagnosis could really help re-frame your thought process and actions, helping you understand how to use the way your brain works to your advantage.
I’ve been on meds for 10 years and it was the right choice for me, but that doesn’t make it right for everyone! Weed may depend on what meds you’re placed on.

It's also common with people who are insecure. They use it as a stalling tactic so they can come up with a reply while you repeat yourself. It becomes a habit after a while since they do it since childhood and they don't even remember why they started doing it.

@Kingsley P Also, if you try medication, make sure your doctor goes slow on dosage. Because of brain chemistry, some types will work better than others, and sometimes there are minor side effects that you might not like (ex. itching is one). so we went camping... my brother was like 5 or 6 and he asked my dad why the cricket was rubbing its legs together and my dad said that they do that when they're thinking. later that day we found my brother sitting on a rock and he was rubbing his legs together and we were like "what are you doing?" and he just goes "thinking." 😂😂😂

      That's *ADORABLE!* haha
      Kids are hilarious.
      Side bar:
I remember my boyfriend's little sister (3yo and constantly funny and adorable) was asking me (17yo at the time) what the fuzzy things in the fridge were.
      I said, "They're kiwis, love."
"Kiwis?? What's that? Can I eat one?"
      "Let's ask your mom first."
Her mom said that she could have one later. She seemed sad and we went to watch TV. She walked over with us, sat down for a bit, and after only a minute, I thought, "It's too quiet." Next thing I know, she's walking out of the kitchen, chewing something.
Her mom said, "Wait! What do you have?"
It only took a second to see the kiwi in her hand with a chunk bitten out of it.
Her mom laughed and said, "Noooo, you can't eat it like that, my love!"
Still chewing, open mouth, she replied, "Why not?"
We didn't have an answer. haha
I know now that it's fine. But that memory is hilarious.

I can speak with my mouth closed too, and I was thinking it might be similar to a ventriloquist. It's different though because a ventriloquist makes their voice sound like they are talking normal, or like it could be coming from the dummy. They have their lips open with their teeth closed. Speaking with your mouth completely closed doesn't sound like that. It sounds like it's coming from inside your mouth. It wouldn't pass for coming from a dummy.

To the guy that ask's what was said even after hearing it. You have a language disorder. Its a small delay and by the middle of asking "what was that?" you know what they said. It was probably alot worse before you hit 13 but it's just a tiny delay and many people are born with it. It's not weird and it's ok. My son has it and because of it he felt stupid and he isn't stupid or weird .It just takes a small second for his brain to understand what was said. Look at it like a studder but for the brain listening instead of a mouth speaking. Its coming just wait.

    Watching movies more than once:
I used to watch a movie for the first time, love it, and immediately watch it a couple more times. To judge how long ago I did this, such movies were "Dude, Where's My Car" and "A Walk to Remember" when I was a teenager. High brow tastes. ;)
As a child, I fell for "Grease" and must have watched it... close to a hundred times in bits and pieces and entire viewings. I hadn't seen it in YEARS (decade or more?) so I watched it a couple of months ago. Still know all the words.
Now... I have a tendency to watch various series many times. Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, Star Wars, etc. Am in the midst of watching all The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings movies again.
I don't watch as many movies as I once did, however. I tend to become addicted to TV shows and watch them. In the middle of both "The Flash" and "Arrow" right now. Yet, I paused to start watching "Castle" again which I've seen one and a half times already. Someone watched the second half of the series with me, fell in love with it, and had me rewatch the first half with them.
GMM - I've watched MANY of the same episodes multiple times. Buddy System - just finished watching both seasons again.
I take comfort in rewatching things. Especially when it's something I really love. At the same time, I love finding something new. When I discovered my love of Harrison Ford (4 or more years back) while watching "Indiana Jones" for the first time, I bought everything he had made. Only ended up not liking one or two of his movies. He's my favourite actor. There are two I haven't seen yet - they're in my cupboard. "Apocalypse Now" is one. Same goes for Tom Cruise who I started watching last year. Still buying his movies bit by bit. I discovered a certain Mythical duo and he got sidelined while I binge-watched the shit ton of content they have. Have to start Ear Biscuits marathons so I can be caught up on everything.

My family growing up always had kielbasa, fried potatoes, baked beans, with cottage cheese. And the saltiness of the beans with the creamy nature of the cottage cheese is super tasty.

I do the thing where I have to look up the ending to stuff, but only with extremely dramatic or scary movies and shows. I know I have a lot of anxiety 🤪 so watching suspenseful stuff is SO overwhelming and so its easier to enjoy the show when I’m not worried about what’s gonna happen

I rub my feet together when I'm comfortable or when I'm laying down. It's an unconscious thing that was actually pointed out to me. I also have ADHD - C, so fidgeting or stimming in any way is very common and normal. 🙂

Thanks for the topic! I’m sure a lot of us ask ourselves this question or already know we are and are ok with it. All about self acceptance and it seems in the world we live in today weird is becoming the norm. We’re all different and come from different walks of life and anyone who may judge just wants everyone to do things the way they do and believe the way they do things is the right way when sometimes theirs many approaches to doing many things. Thanks for sharing, look forward to watching you guys most every day, is that weird? lol 😂 If it is then call me weird.

My first girlfriend called the foot thing "foot cuddling" 😂😂 stems from wanting to be touching when falling asleep but it being too hot in the room or under the blankets to actually fully cuddle lol.
