They both have NIR, so if you’re concerned about melasma and NIR, these would not be the masks for you. I personally have no problem with NIR flaring my melasma.
Hi question I’m trying to get my mom a mask she is 57 and off has wrinkles and melesma and hyper pigmentation. Would you recommend this mask or the MAYSAMA mask.
@ thanks for your reply. I did use the eye inserts. I imagine I’ll get used to it, I’ve only used it once, but it was very bright. I wondered if the inserts were black or thicker it would help.
I have the same issue with my higher dose mask!!!! It digs into the bridge of my nose... I have tried taping it, and other DIY hacks... nothing solves it where it will still fit the rest of my face. I really want to get this one because of the submental design included... but it is non-returnable!! Quite a leap of faith.
The new Current Body mask is very different from all the other devices you listed. All of those are included in my original LED device comparison video in case you missed and want to check the specs: ruclips.net/video/vyYDIeAU-A0/видео.html. The Dennis Gross mask is different because it has blue lights, does not have nearly the same surface area/coverage (no under the chin, not as much coverage near the jawline, not as much coverage around the eyes, etc) which you can see by looking at both masks. Dr. Dennis Gross has 100 red lights while the new Current Body one has 236. A panel is very different because people like to use those to treat more of their body and don't need the flexibility to walk around. There are so many panels with many different features, and you can see the specs in my video i linked to above. The only one not on that is the new Maysama pulsed LED panel with red and NIR - and you can turn off the NIR and pulsing if you want. The Dermalux panel has red, blue and NIR and is flexible so you can use it all over your body for various skin issues and pain management. They are all very different and priced very differently as well. It all depends on what you are trying to treat and where you're trying to treat it. This new Current Body series 2 mask is a powerful new mask for anti-aging that I recommend to anyone looking for a red+NIR solution.
@@beautybeyond40 why would you want to turn near infrared off? I'm thinking the new mask is way superior to the Dr Dennis for anti ageing...maybe even the Dermalux due to the number of lights.... may be time for a new mask!
@@kirstybreen1295 Many people say that NIR causes hyperpigmentation or melasma flare ups and so they never use NIR. I haven't found this to be the case for my skin. I talk about this a lot in my LED videos since it is a very top FAQ. The Dr. Dennis Gross mask takes 3 minutes. The Dermalux one is a panel you sit underneath for 20-30 minutes depending on the treatment. If you have the time and money, it's a great device - but only if you use it.
Do you recommend the neck and chest mask? I am going to buy the face mask 2 but where there is a bundle deal thought it might be good to buy both. Just didn’t know if the neck mask was worth it? Also where the face mask 2 has the chin part do you think it is pliable enough to use on the neck instead of purchasing the neck mask?
I am in the same boat as you. I'm also considering the bundle but unsure if the face mask is pliable enough to use on the neck due to the chin strap. Please let me know if you find out anything!
Personally I wouldn’t buy CurrentBody again as my LED mask broke just out of warranty with an apparently common loose wiring fault 😢 Hopefully they’ve fixed that now!
Hi Jenn. Thanks for your feedback. I haven't heard of this before and my Series 1 mask is still working years later. I am generally curious if you think device brands should replace devices when they are out of warranty? Were you hoping they would make an exception for you? Where do you think businesses should draw the line - within the terms of the warranty, or outside the terms for certain cases? If so, then what is the point of having a warranty? I hear about this a lot and I wonder how it would work if brands start making exceptions. It's a slippery slope and I'd love to hear your feedback so I can better understand your perspective.
@@beautybeyond40 My lights began to flicker so to use I had to squeeze hard where the wire connects to the mask. I didn’t contact Currentbody as I doubted they’d help out of warranty and googling confirmed others in the same position. I hadn’t used my mask that much in the 2yrs and feel it likely had plenty of life left otherwise (battery/LEDs fine). For a premium priced product I’d expect longevity. In future I’ll pay attention to warranty and aftercare policies. Perhaps where known faults occur then low-cost repairs could be offered out of warranty? This would help with brand reputation
@@beautybeyond40 I think if it is a common issue, companies should absolutely honor fixing the problem. I know that ZIIP does that. I have a mask (not currentbody) that I have taken extremely good care of, and after 6 months, the wire is coming loose at a connection point, so that the LED flashes on and off and I have to carefully hold it. I feel like because this is not a consumable, and it is an investment... companies should consider the nature of the malfunction and honor it if they can clearly tell it is not from misusing their device. Plus, customer service these days can make or break a company in so many ways. I think loyalty is extremely valuable for a company. Just my opinion.
The ZIIP is microcurrent that works the muscles. This is an LED mask that works the skin. I recommend using both modalities for a well-rounded routine. But ultimately, you can choose what it is you want to work on
Probably LYMA but you have to use it for 30 minutes to an hour every single day for about a couple months to see results. Whereas LED you use 3 to 5 times a week for 6 to 10 minutes a day depending on your device and results will start to show within 30 days. So, it’s really not an apples to apples comparison.
I wonder why they skimped on led lights between nose and upper lip? That is kind of surprising, especially with all the improvements that were made. I am trying to decide between CB2 and Maysama. Each have their own special feature, so I have been on the fence.
Hi Trina! I am so excited that you did this video... I am so interested in this mask but hesitant to buy it because it is not returnable... I did contact them directly to try to get some clarification / guidance, but I didn't get anywhere beyond polite non-specific responses. I have a couple of LED masks from reputable companies, my issue is that the LED at the top of the bridge of the nose really digs in and leaves a mark... I have no idea if this will be the case with this one... any thoughts, guidance? I know it is supposed to be much softer and more malleable than many other masks... the one I have that I do really like, but is causing this issue is the one from higher dose for reference. Thank you for any guidance.
I wish I could post photos here to show you how they are different - but there seems to be more hard plastic around the nose and eye areas on the Higher Dose mask. The Current Body series 2 is really soft and flexible, much more so than the Higher Dose one. The only issue here is that I don't have any discomfort from wearing the higher dose one, but I can see how it might hurt because of the extra plastic that is not soft in that area. You can hold yours up to the photos of the Current Body one on the site or my video to compare.
@@beautybeyond40 THANK YOU! THANK YOU! It is really the top LED light on the nose section that is the problem... right where the bone on the bridge of my nose starts... and it actually leaves a mark... I froze your video to look at the interior layout of the leds which seem to be the same on the bridge of the nose... the new current body no longer has a split at the bottom of the nose like the old model and like higher dose... but you are right... if the mask is softer, more pliable and fits differently, it (hopefully) shouldn't be a problem. I am still debating but love a mask so much more than panels just because I get impatient sitting there all zen --- and gosh forbid, quietly with my thoughts🤣😂 I really want to own a mask that I love... especially this one that includes the submental area (sp!?!?) -- Thank you again for taking the time to look, so grateful 🙏
@@kellydunworth3689 maybe you can look up one of those buy/sell/trade device groups on facebook to sell your higher dose mask and use the money toward the current body one? And then sell that one too if it doesn't work? I don't like panels either because I am too impatient, but the Maysama one is compact and offers really short treatments so you could force yourself to do it if had to lol
Hi Trina.. i will be buying a mask.. still considering features to make my mind up.. in was not considering the currentbody, until they launched series 2.. now i am but i also like the maysama one. Are you still using it and how does it compare with the new currentbody?
They are currently both my top 2 masks right now. They have very different features. One has pulsed light where the other one doesn’t. One has red blue and NIR which you can turn on and off as you wish. The other only has red and NIR which you cannot control. The current body has deep red in specific areas around the face - and it has the chin strap whereas Maysama doesn’t, while Maysama covers the entire lip area, so it depends on which areas of your face you’re most concerned with. if you’re worried about hyperpigmentation and melasma flaring from NIR, then the current body probably isn’t the best choice for you. If you suffer from any type of acne on your face, then the maysama would be a better choice for you. They both have different treatment times as well. I think I’ll make a quick video about this because I keep getting asked and it’s a valid question - but I can’t make the decision for you because you’ll need to weigh all the features against each other to see which is the best fit for you and your specific skin concerns
@beautybeyond40 thank you so much for your reply...i am after anti aging as i am 62 but my son has been battling against acne so, I want to get something that we could both use.. not really easy..
I’m not sure. I will have to go back into my collection to pull all this out to look at it. I’m curious why this is important to you? Normally you charge the battery separately from the mask.
@@beautybeyond40because some RUclipsr mentioned their company’s other led mask ( the 4-in-1 mapping mask ) of the battery charger is quite heavy compared to the series 1 and you can’t charge the battery separately, basically every time you charge you have to bring the entire thing to charge , that’s why I want to check if there is any downside before I make the big investment on this new device .
@@jennylaw129 Thank you for clarifying. I don't notice that it is heavier than the old one, and it seems to be about the same as all my LED masks in terms of weight. It think it is bigger than the series 1. I don't have the 4 in 1, but maybe it requires more power since it has more lights? You are correct that you cannot remove the battery to charge the series 2, but I actually like this because I have so many devices and batteries and cords, etc that sometimes they get lost or misplaced. If it's attached, then it will always be found! I don't mind at all that you don't remove the battery to charge it. I hadn't even thought about that until you brought it up. I guess everyone has their priorities and features they like best.
It's the NIR that is in question. I have melasma and NIR does not impact my melasma. Some people say it does, so they don't use NIR. You'll have to experiment for your own skin.
Great question. Just like all devices, it depends on the features and what you're trying to treat. If you want pulsed light, and the ability to turn off NIR, and you want the option to use blue light, then Maysama is best. If you don't care about pulsed light or blue light, but you do care about the extra wavelengths that target deeper for more advanced aging, you don't need to turn off NIR, and you want to target the area under your chin, then Current Body is best.
@@beautybeyond40 thanks for responding. I should have mentioned that my goal is for anti aging, I don’t need to turn off NIR so I guess I’m trying to decide if the pulse led lights go deeper or the extra led lights with deeper penetration in the new current body would be most effective.
@@janb9668 Pulsed light doesn't do deeper. It's the wavelengths that determine the depth. Pulsed light optimizes the results of the treatment. I recommend watching my Maysama video with the founder Bev, which is on my channel, and then rewatching this new Current Body video - then going with your gut about which device you want to get based on your skincare goals. Both masks are fabulous and if you use them, they will work.

@@MyDany999 there are little eye inserts that I showed in this video if you wanted to watch that part again. I don’t use them. Red light has been shown in recent studies to help eye health, so it should be no problem for your eyes with this specific mask. I get my eyes checked every year by the eye doctor to make sure they’re still healthy from using LED and they’re fine. It’s the kind of information you were hoping for?

The Omnilux mask is great! I think you need to upgrade if you’re concerned about underneath your chin/jawline and the areas where they put in the 1072 nm lights.
Omnilux made a men’s mask with the 3 wavelengths. I love it! I am very petite and also a senior. I am seeing results in only 2 weeks. Also, even though I have a tiny face I just pull the straps tighter. Check it out before deciding.
Thanks for your explanation! Is this mask warm like the first? I have olive skin tone and heat promotes dark spots/ hyperpigmentation. I would so love to use a led mask😀
I use the first mask and I don't find it to be warm at all. What you should be aware of are the masks with blue wave lengths that can promote dark spots and melasma.
I don't find this mask or the old mask to be warm at all. It is the NIR that flares pigment for some people, but now people are saying blue flares pigment for them. I use all 3 wavelengths, have terrible melasma and pigment, and haven't found any of them to flare my melasma after years of testing.
Where are you seeing this about blue light? Has it happened to you? People used to say only NIR was flaring their pigment. I'm trying to figure out why blue is now the new culprit. I have awful melasma and haven't found red, NIR, or blue to flare my pigment so I'm trying to find someone who saw blue flare their pigment to get more info on this topic.

I don’t know. I would check the website FAQs or reach out to the brand directly to ask?
I find the light very bright. I thought it might work better with black eye guards. I wondered if it’s possible to paint them black or buy black ones?
Yes, it is very bright. Did you try using the eye inserts? I wonder if it helped you at all?
@ thanks for your reply. I did use the eye inserts. I imagine I’ll get used to it, I’ve only used it once, but it was very bright. I wondered if the inserts were black or thicker it would help.
How is the fit on the nose?
The old one was hurting my nose. Thanks
the whole fit is much better, including the nose
I have the same issue with my higher dose mask!!!! It digs into the bridge of my nose... I have tried taping it, and other DIY hacks... nothing solves it where it will still fit the rest of my face. I really want to get this one because of the submental design included... but it is non-returnable!! Quite a leap of faith.
Does it get your entire area under your chin all the way to the back where it meets the neck? And target jowls / jaw?
Yes, it's supposed to but I guess it depends on how your face/neck is shaped?
How would you rate this against the dr Dennis gross spectralite? Or a panel? Or the dermalux flex?!
I had the same issue. I have to hold the wire in a weird way to make it turn on.
@@ronann5609 Do you mean the wire running into the mask - or the wire running into the battery? Which end?
How does this compare with the Light Salon Boost LED mask?
Not sure as I don't have that one, but you should be able to look on their website to pull the specs to compare
Ziip hallo or this mask. Plz help me decide. Am buying 1 tonight. Which one works better?
The ZIIP is microcurrent that works the muscles. This is an LED mask that works the skin. I recommend using both modalities for a well-rounded routine. But ultimately, you can choose what it is you want to work on
Hi Trina! How would you rate this new currentbody LED mask against the LYMA laser? Which one do you prefer more? Thank you!!😊
I wouldn’t compare them because one is LED and the other is low level laser therapy. They’re totally different modalities.
Thank you for the quick reply! ❤ which one is more effective in your experience with the two? 😊
It is a tough choice for sure!!
Thanks for the feedback! I will go try on the Higher Dose one to compare it to the new Current Body one.
@@beautybeyond40 Thank you so much! I appreciate your help ; ))
I am still debating but love a mask so much more than panels just because I get impatient sitting there all zen --- and gosh forbid, quietly with my thoughts🤣😂
I really want to own a mask that I love... especially this one that includes the submental area (sp!?!?) -- Thank you again for taking the time to look, so grateful 🙏
How is the charger’s weight compared to the first one ? Can you charge the device separately from the mask ?
Is this safe to use for people with melasma? I heard that red light therapy makes melasma worse.
It's the NIR that is in question. I have melasma and NIR does not impact my melasma. Some people say it does, so they don't use NIR. You'll have to experiment for your own skin.
Between this new mask and the maysama one that pulses. What would be your comparison and which in your opinion is preferable. Thanks so much 😀🇨🇦
Great question.
Can you please make a review on Nushape lipo wrap?
Never heard of this device, so unfortunately I won’t be able to review it.
Where does everyone store their masks?

Hi! I really do not apreciate to much differences between 4 in 1 led mask and the new one ( talking about the distribution and the Numbers of leds) . Could you please do a review comparing this twoo led masks please??❤
I don’t have the 4 in 1. Are the specs listed on the website that you could check out?
Does it affect eyes
Can you please be more specific? I’m not sure what you’re asking in this question.
@@beautybeyond40 when I put the mask does the red light affect or reach my eyes
@@MyDany999 there are little eye inserts that I showed in this video if you wanted to watch that part again. I don’t use them. Red light has been shown in recent studies to help eye health, so it should be no problem for your eyes with this specific mask. There are some panels that are much brighter (like the maysama pulsed light panel) with which I do use goggles as directed. I always follow each device manual. I get my eyes checked every year by the eye doctor to make sure they’re still healthy from using LED and they’re fine. It’s the kind of information you were hoping for?
@@beautybeyond40 yes thank you
My past experience with led masks was increasing pigmentation… is it because of the NIR? Should you and can you turn the NIR out? If so, would a more affordable mask be better since you don’t use the NIR? Thank you!
If you need to turn off NIR, I recommend getting a MAYSAMA device
@@beautybeyond40 It's a shame that the new CurrentBody mask doesn't have the option to turn off the near-infrared or deep infrared. Since you have melasma, are you cautious about using the mask? ☺️

Thank you so much for answering ❤️🙏☯️☀️ It’s great to hear that it doesn’t have that effect on you 🙏
I have a bit of melasma myself, which is why I was considering Maysama’s mask. But I would really like to find a mask that works deeper on wrinkles without worsening pigmentation. What I feel is missing from CurrentBody’s mask, though, is the pulsing light, which makes it hard to choose 🙈

Hi Trina, I'm wondering if the new Current Body LED is worth trading in my Omni Lux. I'm wondering if results would be better. I've been happy with my Omni Lux, but wondering if
I could get better results with the new Current Body. Love your videos. They are so helpful. Thanks

The Lumara Led Mask has so many more LEDs in the mask. It's a shame that this one from Currentbody has such big gaps between the lamps. 🥺
470 leds....
No red lights on the upper lip area 🤔
The Lumara mask only has 660nm. It's a shame they didn't think to put light above the lip or over the lips where so many of us want coverage.
