I used the CurrentBody LED Mask for 8 weeks & this happened.

- Hey everyone. Some of you will know that I started using the CurrentBody infrared LED Mask back at the end of Feb 2021.
I didn't really see any results at 4 weeks, which is what they claim. However at 8 weeks, I started seeing positive changes to redness and pore size/skin tone.
What do you think?
I am leaving it to you all to decide on whether you see results or not.
I think this is a great product and there are results for me, but the results will be different person to person. I really think it's good to watch reviews from others with similar skin tone or similar skin issues as yourself. It's expensive and whilst I saw results, they weren't really dramatic.
I will continue to use the mask however, and I've noticed that some of the skin improvements have reverted 5 days after stopping using the mask.
This mask was given to me by CurrentBody.
The've given me a coupon that works only on the LED Mask, but do remember to do your research, I'm happy with my results but the mask isn't going to make any of us look 5 years younger!

Hey everyone! I filmed this back in April and kept meaning to post it, so here we go! My review on the CurrentBody LED face mask.
I see results but imo they are subtle. I’m still using it 3-4 times a week as it is relaxing and I feel it is keeping my pore size & redness improved from what it was, but I don’t think it’s anything that anyone is going to notice. What do you think?
I’ve seen some videos where the results are undeniable and great, these have been on people trying to address fine lines etc. So do definitely do your research before buying.
If you’re annoyed with pores, try Niacinamide on clean/dry skin and only apply your serums/moisturisers 20 minutes after. Doing this might help your concern.
I was doing this in conjunction with this mask xx
I was really waiting for this video. Maybe other mask would have a bigger difference? It would be fun to compare with other brand :)
Hi Sophie! You may not be allergic to niacinamide. The Ordinary one is very strong and it doesn't give better results then a lower strength one such as the Inkey List version. I would try the Inkey List one. I had the exact same experience with the Ordinary's version and the irritation went away when I started using the Inkey List niacinamide.
@@shawna9678 That’s a good point, thank you I hadn’t thought about that! I’m not massively clued-up on the technicalities. I knew that niacinamide could work on pores, but I didn’t realise the strength differences. I will look into the Inkey List though as it was working for me at one stage xx
@@dominikamihokova784 This could be a great idea! Have a lovely rest of the week Dominika!xx
loroche posy has great serums including the vitamins Bs.
Love this review ❤️ I been using the SkinGenics LED mask for like 3 months and been noticing very good results. It was also pretty budget friendly and is rechargeable.
As soon as I heard your take on the mouth hole being large enough for sipping wine, you're 100% serious delivery of that line had me laughing so hard I immediately had to subscribe. Oh, that and hearing your husband's skin routine, that's so funny
As a professional makeup artist, I have chances to work with my clients up close and personal. I would say the result you get from the face mask is quite incredible. Without trying it myself, I would still recommend you to continue to use it regularly, if there are no bad side effects. The enlarging of the pores is a sign of losing elasticity, AKA collagens as we age. The fact that it can make ur pores smaller, which means it is restoring your collagens. I would believe the benefit is much more then just the visible / noticeable improvement. Although it sounds like a lot of money, but when compare to some so call magic luxury skin care brands, like L? M??, the benefit Vs the price, it is money well worth spending on this mask, in my opinion. Because of my profession, I am very interested in learning about cosmetics and skin cares and I have access and tried products high and low, much more then an average lady would ever want to try. I have products stack literally from floor to ceiling that I have tried. And time and time again. I always go back to the very basic ones, the ones that I always trusted. This mask seems pretty legit with the result it yields without any invasive procedure needed. I think in the long run, it is actually saving you a lot of money. One tip, which I would do , if you find laying there for 10 min is too boring, you could start to do some lower body workout, like low ab reverse crunches of leg rises from the bed or of something like that. :D That why you got the double benefit of saving you time and getting results on the face and your body. :DD
@Celeste Kniefel A couple of brands that I have been using for the past 15+ years are Elizabeth Arden, Sulwhasoo and Vitacreme B12 for Skin care and Rimmel London for foundation yields a pretty satisfying result, even when compare with some luxury, high-end brands, for day to day usage bases.
I think your skin looks gorgeous! I actually used to suffer with psoriasis on my arm. After years of visiting the doctor and trying every cream on the market, nothing worked. Then I had two 20 minute sessions of Dermalux light therapy and it completely disappeared-never to return again! I couldn’t believe the results!
Hello Felicity! I feel like I haven’t seen your name here in ages! I hope you’re well and enjoying the summer 😊 I’ve heard of this light therapy actually, and how it can be great for skin conditions such as that. It’s so great when you finally get a solution xxx

For anyone in the UK, I bought the full body panel by Care Lamps Derma Red P600
It’s Red and Near Infrared 1000w 660nm & 850 nm
I love mine. It’s reduced hyper pigmentation and I feel like I sleep better at night when I use it before bed. I prefer the full body benefits.
Love that Sophie mentions you can drink wine with the masks. Important priorities for us wine drinkers. My Myolift micro current machine masks aren’t that wine friendly and you are tethered to the machine while using it.
How much?x
Your skin is beautiful and already looks nearly perfect. I can see why results would be more minimal.
That’s so kind of you Liz, thank you. I did have very large pores if I’m honest, I don’t think they show very well on camera. I’m still using the mask daily, it is doing something! The pores have really shrunk, I’m assuming it’s because of the mask. Hugs xx
I'm only using this mask for two weeks but I see incredible results already. My skin is very prone to breakouts from any cream or makeup and this mask helps a lot with that. I don't see anything else yet but I'm sure I will, in time. For me, even getting the inflammation down is worth the money. Plus, I think the older you are, the more noticeable the benefits are. Thank you for your review!
do you still feel like this masks help fight inflammation/acne?
@@sobean9309 yes, every time I have a breakout, I use the mask on anti acne setting and it heals in a couple of days tops.
@@kengurooable oh i did not know it has an anti-acne setting! thats good to know because i never see this mask advertised for acne, only anti-aging
@@sobean9309 it has a lot of settings, anti acne, anti aging, skin repair, tone evening, redness reducing etc. It's a great product!
Hi . Can you tell me pls wich brand you use
I am a skincare junkie, like the other evening I placed a skincare order from my usual website (from Korea) and then found a product that I wanted to try somewhere else and Placed another other, but since it seemed like a waste to order just one product I brought 4, and just before realizing you had uploaded a new video I was browsing the net in search of a new serum, even though I have 5 already (I'm using them all) and another one on the way, all this to tell you I really was scrambling to find a honest-to-God, reliable opinion and not just the usual AD video of influencers trying to sell me stuff because on anything else I could accept it, but when it comes to skincare I need honesty - my daily routines are my moment of selfcare and selfindulging and selflove so I do not accept someone taking advantage of those precious minutes to gain money, so thank you because I was sincerely one minute away from buying it and now it's off my list.
Going back to the actual results, in the picture of the "after 2 months" your skin looks a bit plumper but that could just mean you're drinking more, the difference is not earth-shattering or anything, but for the sake of being sure I'd keep going. The "sandy texture" of the skin is something that happened to me 2 years ago, I struggled with it and hated every second, some people (sephora staff) blamed it on my skin being oily in those bits but I went the other route and upped my skincare routine making it more hydrating (I added Laneige Skin to my steps in both the morning and evening routine) and that helped SO much. I believe the mask is actually stimulating your skin tissue and that helps with keeping the skin more hydrated, then again someone that does not have that mask (or doesn't want to spend so much money) could just add an additionsal step to their routine.
Just in case you want to try some other beauty device I would really love to hear what you have to say about the NuFace (trinity and/or mini)
Hi! Which of Laneige skin are you referring to?
@@glamis1284 Laneige Cream skin (the white milky toner)
Thorough and balanced as always. You look fantastic as always!
Omg David's skincare routine 😭 it seems like men can use whatever products that aren't even made for the face and whenever I don't follow my skincare routine I immediatly break out hahaha 😅
So true, my face hurts when I think about his routine 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Hugs to you Merel xx
I found the most cost-effective LED silicone mask, I see the same Omnilux/CurrentBody LED mask on Alibaba, it only costs $86 per
pcs. The price is very nice and the quality of the product is also very good.
What a honest review! And thank you because it’s a huge amount of money for something you’re not going to see great results on. I suffer with redness on my face some days it’s worse than others so I would invest in something that worked but I’m not sure that product is the one. Thank you for sharing Sophie xx
You do such great research and reviews. Your marketing training really shows. Great video as always!
Thank you so much for sharing this LED Mask with us,Sophie.
Much Love from Hamburg,Germany.🙋♀️🌞
Thanks for this review. This seems the most honest review of current body that I’ve seen. I had this bought me recently for my my 60th birthday. I have good skin but trying to steer away from Botox and fillers. I’ve only used this approx a dozen times and no dramatic effect but will see what happens after a few months. 😘
Happy birthday Janette! Whilst there were results for me, I do really think that the results are minimal. This is part the reason why I stopped using it, because trying to find 10 mins each evening wasn't always practical! However, I got back into it again as I noticed redness coming back... So clearly it is doing something. Have a great weekend :) xx
This really wanna makes me try out this mask as well! I think you can really see a difference on your skin in the photos!! Thanks for letting us know about it!
I’m using the Foreo UFO as my Led treatment because it’s cheaper and I’m already seeing results. I’m sure though your mask is even more effective. Keep it up and good luck seeing more results. Thanks for the review
can you use it for light only?
Hi Sophie, according to a dermatologist anything above 5 percent niacinamide will potentially lead to redness and irritation. All the studies that have been done show Efficacy of niacinamide at 5 percent and companies bump up the percentage to sellnit more but it can have a negative effect. So perhaps you could switch to a lower percentage product xxx
Finally an honest review! Thank you.
Omg your husbands skincare routine is the same as my boyfriends 😂 your skin looks incredible! Total goals
Not gonna lie, that probably is 80% of the time of my routine also. :D And I am 46 and people still mistaken me as my 3 yrs younger friend's or my 5 yrs older sister's daughter, in real life!

It does look better after 2 months. The pores do look better with the foundation looking very smooth. Your skin looks like very healthy & radiant .
Love the hair length and styling on you!
Can you do a review on the SkinGenics LED mask ? Been seeing a lot of positive reviews. Thumbs up so they see hopefully 🙌🏽
Thanks for your true review.... I ordered the CurrentBody Series 2 LED mask after seeing all the great reviews and promotions, but unfortunately, my experience has been very different. The light intensity is way too high, even with the eye protection (which does nothing but feel uncomfortable), causing discomfort and even pain in my eyes. It's not safe for me to use, and the customer service has been unhelpful-they seem annoyed that I even asked for help. On top of that, returning it will cost you money, which makes no sense! I expected much more from a product marketed as safe and effective. Be cautious if you're thinking about buying!
I have noticed your skin looking amazing recently and I was wondering what you had done or treatments you had. I love infra red LED light!!!
I have used the Dr. Dennis Gross several times and noticed a big difference in the reduction of my breakouts. It’s a fun tool however I think Niacinamide has truly changed my face! 💕
Yay! I’ve been hoping you would give us an update on this as I’ve been wanting to try one of these ❤️
Niacinamide...I feel your pain! I also react to it and get red rash. And it's especially annoying because so many skincare companies just love putting it in various products, so I have to be really careful about reading ingredients.
Yeah I think these are really good results,I have exactly the same skin issues and I'm really wanting to buy this now 😅
I LOVE your frankness!
So great that you mentioned being able to drink wine while using the mask! Hahaha! Good to know!! Major plus
Can you please do a comparison of this mask vs the omnilux mask? Can’t decide which on to get since they are so similar
Anyone tried the skingenics remoteless led mask? Very close to getting that
I love how honest you are!! Thank you
I got this mask for Christmas and must admit I have not used it much.
But the company was very good to deal with.
I’m in Australia and there was no plug adapter in the box. But they sent it to me and it arrived quickly.
Thanks for your review Sophie- I will use it now. I think it has made a difference with your pores. 😊
My heart dropped when she explained his skincare routine 🥲
Haha, I cringe when I think of it!! Hugs xx
Do you have an update on the led mask? I love these occasional beauty and skin care talks
your skin does look nicer, I feel it is worth the investment longterm
Can you please tell what's the product in the box (that you held up) you've been using around your eyes since 2016? I watched the video several times but didnt catch the brand/name of it. Your eyes look amazing.
That mask just looks so funny, I love it. 😂 Your skin looks beautiful but I’m not sure it’s because of the mask.
Nothing is gonna make you look like 12 again if that’s what you’re expecting !!!!! This works no matter what!
Who wants to look 12. What a weird comment
I have the Dr. Dennis Gross mask and I have seen results almost immediately with the shrinking of the pores. It’s rechargeable, no cords necessary
Excellent review. Thanks for sharing.
I lost it when you brought the glass of wine 😂l
Thanks for sharing ☺️. For those that have the patience, Mito Red is amazing as well. You can do a body treatment.
That’s a great shout Nicole! I think it is about having the patience as you say. It’s all great for the first week and then it gets boring 😂 Hugs xxx
Very funny when you’re talking with the mask on, it was like a filter was on. I love how you got David to be the Guinea pig. My face itched when you said he uses shampoo to wash his 😭 A really nice, unfussy & effective men’s brand is Clarines men. Its fairly affordable, doesn’t have a strong smell, their face wash is super easy to wash off. I notice a big difference using their stuff & they have really nice shaving line. I am currently looking for decent eye cream though, as insomniac, I have bags under my eyes, that you could bring home your groceries in. I am looking for a cream that actually works. Any one got any tips?
I suggest including beans into your daily diet if you’re not allergic or sensitive to it to help with your insomnia . Definitely avoid it if you have or suspect kidney disease though .
See now I think those are really good results!
Your skin looks amazing 👍💚
You are so sweet, thank you for your kindness David ☺️❤️🙏🏽xxx
@@SophieShohetOfficial your welcome Sophie 💚x

What a nice mid week surprise! Yay a video! I've always been curious about these types of devices and whether they really can make a difference with redness, acne and/or collagen turnover. I suppose anything you can do in a non-invasive way is worth trying!
But at the end of the day, skin is best taken care of on the inside - eliminate stressors to your body (such as lack of sleep, toxins, chemicals, alcohol and smoking). Eat well, nourish your body with lots of veggies and healthy fats. Surround yourself with positive people! Lets all age gracefully together!
Lol my husband is the same way - uses body wash or shampoo to wash is face (arguably, he has a beard so maybe the shampoo makes sense) and then uses baby oil on his face... baby oil....
Yup, infrared lasers are used in clinics for muscle strains and tissue healing. Some people use micro current as well on the face for facial muscles!
I ordered the eye serum from Etsy after watching you discuss it recently and last year. I'm loving it, although I think I use too much cause I get it in my eyes lol.
Thx 🙏 4 being soo honest !!
Hi Sophie! You may not be allergic to niacinamide. The Ordinary one has Zinc which can be irritating for some, I would try the Inkey List one. I had the exact same experience with the Ordinary's version and the irritation went away when I started using the Inkey List niacinamide.
Ordinary has 10% niacinamide, and so does the Inkey list.
Love your videos 🥰 sorry not on topic, but please could you review the micro lady dior bag? Xx
Hi Sophie! I was waiting for a video about beauty treatments for so long!! So happy to see it, but I hope to see many other like this. You have a beautiful skin, but I don't think that led mask worth the price, I prefer to buy good creams and serum... how do you use squalane on your neck? How many times a week? And after it do you put a cream on your neck?
Happy to see that we have one thing in common... we both love a glass of good wine 😘
Azelaic acid helped me with my pores. It's supposed to help with redness. I don't have redness so I cannot comment on that but the pores were a surprise to me. I bought the Azelaic acid for hyperpigmentation but it helped with the pores.
love your honest, to the point review! thank you x :)

Hello Belinda! It's Charlotte Tilbury in Pillow Talk (the regular one, not the deeper version) Hugs :) xxx
Hi Sophie, have a blessed evening
You are lovely! Thank you for your kindness Anne, hugs to you my friend xxx❤️
Just at the start of the video, I remembered about skin problems from some picture/painted portrait, and cheek redness may come from sugar or alcochol. I know, horrible, even in small amounts. Wine and improved nlood circulation & vessels start in the face apparently.
Great review, thank you.
I don’t have redness , only enlarged pores so I need something to help with that. I’m not really into masks , too claustrophobic 🌸🌸
I had an LED mask arrive this week but I have not used it yet. I paid $120 so now I’m going to check if it’s infa-red. I’ll leave another comment once I’ve checked.
David’s skincare is pretty standard for most men. I know it shocks us but technically he is using a “cleanser”and the body butter would be a great occlusive moisturiser.
I can’t use niacinamide on my face either. Squalane oil however is fabulous. I’ve been using the Vitamin C serum from Timeless but I’m yet to see any benefit. At 43, I feel the best I can do for my skin is keep is clean and hydrated and use a good SPF. I have inherited deep forehead lines from my father and have concluded that nothing was going to stop them and the only thing that will make them disappear is Botox. Sorry for the rambling.
Ok, I’m back lol. My mask is by Peppy Co. and the Blue light is 460-470, Red 620-630, Yellow 580-590. It was $130 AUD with a code, I checked and it’s £79 in the UK so not overly expensive.
I think I’ll keep it and hope it does something or I at least find the 10 min mask time relaxing 😂
Here’s an interesting article (hopefully the link works) www.google.com.au/amp/amp.abc.net.au/article/everyday/11751286
The article says infa-red is over 700 and is not used for skin treatment 🤷🏼♀️
Sophie, thought you might find it interesting that there are $1900 options on the market!
I know everyone raves about The Ordinary but I always found the other ingredients in their formulas, that they use to bulk them out, were too harsh. So much so that if I touched anything after using their products (without washing my hands thoroughly with soap) fabrics were bleached which can’t be a good sign. I switched to medik8 and not only do they not bleach anything, my skin thanked me for it.
Sophie it might be worth switching to another niacinamide product that isn’t The Ordinary to see if your skin still reacts or not? Hopefully that will help x
Sophie have you tried Biologique Recherche skincare line? I have very sensitive face, and some redness, but after using for about 1 year, i see huge improvement. My skin even out and the redness subsided as well. For redness, i used their Serum Erythros . You should get free consultation and see what they would suggest. 😉Have a blessed day🙏💕
👸🏻⭐️ Good job! I sent this to you from this account too so you’d know who it was from
Gosh it's hard to tell if it's the mask or maybe you've been drinking more water or if there's other factors involved...I've been very interested in red light masks and I would like to try one, I'm definitely intrigued by the technology, so I'm so grateful for this video, very informative, thank you! 😃💕 I'd put it on while meditating, kill two birds with one stone
Hi Sophie ! Thank you for all you do here on your channel. I too have tried that product - Ordinary Niacinamide and it was too strong. Since then I’ve read that the percentage they use is far too high and likely to cause irritation. Apparently you only need a smaller percentage for it to be effective and generally a product that has included it in its ingredients is generally enough for efficacy.
CeraVe facial moisturizing lotion PM (I’m dry so I use it for daytime) has that ingredient along with ceramides and hyaluronic acid. I’m sure you can find loads of other products with that included.
Ohh I’ve been waiting for this! Thanks for the heads up Sophie. Now restrictions have eased for us across the U.K. I think I may stick to my hydrafacial and ZO peel, at least that gives me a pamper and some down time 😉xx
Genuinely, being able to drink a glass of wine with any kind of face mask on is a game changer to me 😂
Thank you!

I have nearly the exact same mask! So you use it every day? I've been really really inconsistent. I think I would be more consistent if I used it daily. Also just to clarify, you used it before putting any product on your face? I'm really hoping it helps with my redness
Hey Mandy!! The being consistent is my problem, I’m cooking dinner and about to put it on and sit down for 10 mins. Making yourself do it is the key though 🤣 it did take 2 months to get these results though and you have to do it daily. And yes, wear it before putting your creams on. David used it with his cream on and it was giving him spots. For your pores, give niacinamide a go! You could even try this before buying the mask. I clean my face, then put some drops on cheeks and forehead. Leave it a good 20 mins to sink-in and dry, then I put my skin creams on 😊xxx

Omg hahaha my husband is the same with skincare. Washes his face with his body wash. That's it. 😜
Yeah the results are minimal. You have lovely skin anyway and don't need it. I would rather just keep on with no sun, healthy eating and good skincare for my skin. 😊
do you know what light is used, is it uva or uvb?
You should get optimal results after 2or 3 months then keep using it won't make any difference it's best to use it then break for 3 months then use it again for 3 months
Is it ok for melasma patients?
