American gave girls college but still sent them to war with other males.
Why don't let a country be what it wants to be. what is your concern are they starving them to death like war is bringing to them?
Just like America went to destroy Libya
America comes like God and makes brothers destroy themselves and their lives silently forsaking those it gave force hope.

I was there- I lived by the role 3 hospital where women would come in all burned up because it was a popular form of suicide. I saw the women destroying a well at night that our provincial reconstruction team built - because it was one of their only opportunities to be away from the abuse. That’s not to say all the men were bad either, but there was certainly a rampant issue with the treatment of their women. The fact that they weren’t allowed to receive any formal education under Taliban rule.
Yes, cartoons can be an accurate form of propaganda; that is true. They can also communicate truth as well. What I saw in this movie coincides with what I experienced overseas in Afghanistan and it really hit home.

Those people that try to force and twist it to their advantage and to hurt people think they are God and are only worshipping themselves.
I believe the best way to practice islam is to read and decide things for yourself only. I didn't see the movie yet but I like the genteel tone of the story. Whimsical, dispite the dark themes. It does not invite to hate a whole group of poeple by showing the worst they got, it invites to embrace those within who struggle. I m a feminist and arab and i ve often seen demonstrations of the sexism in our societies used, not to raise compassion towards us, but used to endorse feelings of revulsion against us as a whole, the victims included. The sentiment being '' if they don't want to be victims, why chose to be muslims''or something in that vein. It is rare that i find mentions of orientalism nowadays (unlike the long gone fascination of the european colonists with the exotic and with fancies of a' 'one thousands and one nights' ' like world. Even if that too encouraged the colonialism. )

I read the book such a long time ago, but always remembered how I cherished this story. I never knew that there was a movie made based off this book, and it makes me so happy to see 🥹. It was an eye opener reading the book in class during grade 5, especially due to how some people aren’t as lucky as I am. it makes me sad that this is our reality in this cruel world, I just loved this book so much. it makes me wanna cry knowing there was a movie I never knew about for 6 years, but also happy because it brings light to the harsh reality of some people’s lives, which is truly heartbreaking knowing that if i’ve never known about the movie, many people probably haven’t either.

0:16 And you know what? He's right both morally, and in terms of Islam, religiously. Allah tells the men not to nag but rather to lower their gaze and mind their damn business. Care about your own damn problems.
    Verse 24:30:
"Tell the believing men that they should reduce/lower (يغضوا) their gaze/vision and guard their private parts..."
    Verse 24:31:
"Tell the believing women that they should reduce/lower (يغضضن) their gaze/vision and guard their private parts..."
    Verse 49:3
"It is those who lower (يغضون) their voices in the presence of Allah's messenger and whose hearts Allah has proved to be aware - they will have forgiveness and a great reward."
So the Muslim dad over here is right. They should not be looking at her. And to add, the Quran says that a child must care for their parents regardless of anything, generalising it to the point of gender.
Yeah. Allah has a drastic difference of how he treats women contrary to how most islamic cultures do. He is not sexist towards them, but even more so like a really protective feminist, or at least that's how I see it.

The setting is Tailban controlled Afghanistan but it as well have been Nazi Germany or Stalins Soviet Union. The main point of the story is the triumph of the human spirit in bad situations and the love that families have for one another..Here in the west we are very privileged. There are a ton of families like this through out the globe that dont have two pennies to rub together yet what they have they share without hesitation amongst themselves. Life is not always like a Hollywood ending..It is beautiful yet tragic. It is also not like the heroes journey. Not all battles and wars are won.. Sometimes we lose but the overall moral is that we continue to fight no matter how hopeless our situations seem to be
