Idk if things have changed in the past year, but i just draw a circle with regular stone dino gates with one missing in the front and the back. Drop some large bear traps in the middle, lure it in, and place a gate behind the crab. If you place 1 gate facing the crab (thats the back of the trap), then angle 2 off of that (towards the crab) and remove the 1st, you will leave an opening big enough to shoot through, but the same size gap as a gate opening, so the crab wont fit through. Then run 2 parallel gates off the 2 angled ones (towards the cran again), for 4 gates placed. End gate #3 and 4 with a gap plenty big enough for the crab, but small enough that a 5th gate will trap it in. So like a gate and a half. Place some large beat traps in the back of the trap and Kite it in, it gets stuck in a bear trap, go around the back, place the 5th and final gate. Just like a trap for a spino or rex or giga. 5 regular sized gates is all you need. Build your catapult tower on the end where you placed and removed gate 1, and you are good to go.
I remember watching you since "the best PvP base in ark" and I'm still watching, your definitely the best channel for ark tutorials, I think a little touch of PvP here and there would be nice aswell :)

It's the best *land-based* crab trap. I make one on a raft that you can simply drive over the crab you want and it's stuck... the trap area was 3x3 with dino gateframes over 3 sides and the raft cabin made the 4th side with the catapult on the back of it... a tight fit for a fat crab, they don't move around much so shooting them was super easy, I never lost one crab with it. Plus you're safe and sound while driving around from within the cabin. I'd often park a reaper on top for clearing any hassles then bury nearby when it came trapping time. The obvious advantage is you don't have to kite it anywhere. I was going to make a motorboat version instead which would have easily had a more luxurious cabin, but never got around to it. :-P Onewing and Seerower were always my raft & trap building inspirations, but I often like yours too. Very nice trap, despite being immobile... It could be problematic on a crowded official where you can't always build freely.

Awefully hard to get this to work with vanilla blocks. Can't build ramp upwards, only downwards. Can line up ramps to be square. Crab shifts side to side, unless its exactly spot on. I am guessing this was done with S+

About how many pillars were used for the catapult setup? Is there a limit on how far the catapult pans down? About how many foundations distance wise from the gate should the catapult be set up?
I used your trap like this only with dino gates instead of pillars and ramps. That seemed to work just fine. I may be missing something but why is this one better than that one?

Im on a high rate server with higher levels and cants seem to tame them idk how to know if im hitting them right but the trap work just the karkinos wont sit still and im having trouble
What are you shotting with i cant find it in my engrams is it balista or a catapult and what ammo does it use Plz help Edit : i knew that it is a catapult but how to get the boulders i cant find it i even searched how to get it and there is no results how do i get boulders ?
Fyi you dont need a trap if you have someone else with you. Me and my bro found this trick on accident. You can have someone run under a crab and position themself under it to where its doing the attack animation, but it cant hit you right under it. The person under it can control which direction its facing and you can one shot it with a cannon. We did this with 4 crabs right next to eachother. EDIT: I forgot to say taming effectiveness will probably be 87 to 89 percent so i would advise useing this if you dont mind taming effectiveness or want to tame 5 to 10 at once without useing multiple traps
@Tamxy also make sure the crab is distracted by a freind before running under it and grabbing its attention. And then have the person distracting it hop on the paracer and position the cannon or carefully have the person under it turn the crab towards the cannon.

Very good trap, took me less than 5 minutes to build & assemble and taming the crab was ridiculously easy.
Still holds up today.

I'm a little new to the abarration scene. Why should I want to tame crabs?
Because they’re strong in the mid game until you get rock drakes and reapers and they can be used to transport creatures and get around quickly
So on my nondetected host place we cant tame crabs cuz the catapult does duble damidge how do i get around this?

Well I gave up, ended up trying 4 times, all with 100+ crabs, and every time, instead of knocking out it kills them.
Well, hate quitting, tried 3 more times, and finally worked.
I finally have my crab!!
