Why nobody never mention an important difference between standard and premium brands: quality of the carpet. Premiums has thick high quality carpet even on trunk, meanwhile standard brands has cheap low quality lining... and for me this makes all the difference!
Some of us in winter climates would rather not think about the carpet and just immediately add the all weather mats, but good point
I test drove the 25 camry THEN the 24 ESh. Just bought the ESh. I couldn't fit in the back of the Camry and I thought the build quality felt cheap. I like the backseats fold down but I don't use my sedan as a truck. Sound system was subpar. Interior plastic was loose like it was a power wheels. Ride was zippy but bumpy. My ESh just feels smooth, and I LOVE driving it. The 25 Camry is a Jack of all trades, master of none -- a good car for MOST, perhaps the best value pick of all the sedans, but it isn't a luxury car. Neither is the accord for that matter.
I would probably get the ES hybrid too. Front headroom seems to be extra tight for me in the new Camry as well.
I had the current ESh as a lease. You're not going to believe how much you're going to love it. It's THAT good.
@@seanh2390just lower the seat - I’m 6’5” and bought the 25 Camry for my partner on July 2nd and I have enough head room.
Baby did not wake up when you closed the hood. Sound insulation is good
he's talking loud so it doesn't matter lol
i drove toyota and lexus but lexus is on another level guys
Agree
Agreed
Another level how
I test drove both and let be say this, Camry is not Lexus. ES300H felt a lot better I terms of luxury, seat comfort, quietness, and overall level of refinement. In fact, the first thing I noticed was hard were the seats in the Camry. Honestly, for $42K I’d get a slightly used Lexus ES300h
You didn't drive the 2025 Camry LE. That is the Camry model that smothers the bumps and has ES level of road and tire noise. For only 30K instead of 44K
Can't wait to see what Lexus does with the all new ES model 2026.
I think that is the issue with this comparison. It appears to be based off the current generation ES. This would have been better served if he waited until the next gen ES was out.
Now ES will be much more expensive....
@@bahrahme Indeed.
give me a dollar every time you say "lexus" in this video
this should be a drinking game
OUT OF OFFICE: Thank you for your comment. I'm currently passed out on the floor playing a RUclips drinking game. I will respond to your message when I regain consciousness.
You can’t compare this to a Lexus ES, just because it’s a sedan with similar engine choices doesn’t mean it’s a Camry. The ES is a longer and bigger car with a much quieter interior and a smoother ride.
You are absolutely correct My friend. KIRK has to be saying this to create drama here otherwise come on.
Don’t forget about the windows that slow down. Best feature in my opinion.
True, the ES was always based on the Avalon platform. As you mentioned, it's a much bigger car to the Camry.
Both Toyota products

I’m sticking with Lexus
@@rileypart1 agreed!!
I would love to get the ES300H but I put on tons of milage on my daily driver. I will lose out on maintenance. Carmy cheap to maintain.
I love both the Camry and ES, but there are differences in the build quality, refinement, and sound insulation within the cabin. However, from the consensus I've heard, Toyota did a solid job with the noise reduction (from both wind and road), especially in the XSE trim. No doubt this generation of Camry will lure a lot of people from the economical and luxury sedan market (maybe even some potential SUV buyers as well, given the amount of room and trunk space it has), I'm quite impressed with it (though I'm sad about the V6 and naturally aspirated engines being precluded from future lineups). I have no doubts that this platform will be very reliable, Toyota has perfected the hybrid platform. My expectations for this generation honestly weren't that high, but Toyota really outdid themselves with the amount of effort they put into it.
Es is a proper luxury sedan and Camry is a excellent class leading mid size sedan. Two cars way different. Sadly kirk seems to forget that
Lexus ES and Camry are both built in Kentucky.
I think used ES300h with 10k-20k miles in the low to mid $30k range is still a better buy
True
At that 30k range just buy a regular SE Camry hybrid then
@@double__de7387 we have a Lexus ES, European spec. Magnificent car, regarding build quality, materials, sound insulation etc etc, far, far, far better than a Camry. You cann't compare the two.
@@double__de7387 ES is just a better car overall. I’ve seen a few new camrys and they look exactly like the old one. I couldn’t spend 30k+ on camry
@@user-FTRU6GJI worked for Toyota and Lexus for over 10 years I get what you're saying but on average you pay 10K more materials as in terms of making the seats better, better interior and the softer ride I agree. But the average person to pay 10k for the same vehicle it's too much. If you're buying the gas es with the V6 hands down hybrid you've lost before you start.
This is the best review of Camry I’ve seen yet Kirk and comparing it to an ES Lexus is especially timely and appropriate. Makes me wonder how good the next gen ES will be. Thank you for this my friend all the work you do!
Upcoming ES will be fantastic without a question.
They are completely different tbh and the ES win all day everyday .
What’s completely different?
Take the 24’ Camry v6 and the Lexus. Both fwd. both v6. Around the same size. Nothing completely different.
The quality in the materials are much different , and if you look underneath both cars you will see differences in materials . The Camry v6 is a excellent car it’s just not the same as the ES , your argument would me more valid let’s say if the Toyota kept the Avalon which the ES is based off of
I love how so many people here are bashing on Kirk as if they have ANY comparable experience… (just because you drove 1 Camry and an ES ONCE doesn’t mean you’re an expert lol) I think this is a very useful and valid video and it makes me glad to see that the Camry is such a solid choice rn. I can’t wait to see what the 26 ES has in store (maybe a slightly more powerful 5th gen hybrid system?)
In terms of features, yes, the new Camry has just as much as the Lexus. But if you care about the badge and ultimate comfort and prestige feeling, then it’s always going to be Lexus. My 10-year-old ES 350 still feels soft, smooth and butter, compared to a Camry around the same age.
Es is a proper luxury sedan and miles better than any Camry from all levels. There is a New gen es coming anyway
@@Mylifeislegendary982. yes I believe that’s what Iwas implying. ES is far more luxurious

I own a 21 Camry SXE V6. 48,000 miles and not a glitch. I don't know about the new Camry but my brother just traded his 23 Charger Scat Pack wide body for a Lexus IS500. There is no comparison. The charger is quicker off the line but the Lexus 5.0 screams. The build quality is impeccable.
@@naveenthemachineHere's some good advice. Hemi Mopars are awesome but if you want to buy one absolutely stay away from a 22-23 and you will avoid some very high stress levels.
Lol 40k plus isn't much to worry about. My 2017 camry xle has 210,000 miles and it runs flawlessly. Looks mint inside and smooth as silk at idle. Your in great shape for not spending much cash on repairs enjoy
@@naveenthemachine Thanks to Stellantis's cost cutting. Nope. It's all out there for everyone to see. I love Mopar. I own an 18 Challenger Hellcat with no problems but only 14,000 miles. My brother's Charger Scat Pack had a horrible dash rattle that never got fixed, an oil pan leak, two infotainment glitches and an upper control arm replacement. Stellantis cost cutting ruined these cars. The IS500 is way better for build quality.
@@naveenthemachineare you really comparing a decade old platform to something more modern? Seriously?
I own a 500 i’d say it’s a lot quicker from a roll idk if it’s faster than a Charger but definitely feels different than getting it off the line. I think performance-wise, it’s a 392 competitor anyway.
42k for a camry? This is crazy.
It's essentially fully loaded or close to it at that point. (Barring any TRD or any potential GR Camry model)
Yeah, pricy. Time for me to get into the trades and make more money.
Paid 35.4 otd for mine xse premium
It is. We got one in 2018, SE with moonroof for a little over $23k out the door
I bought my Camry LE brand new in 2021 for $23K OTD. Same base LE now starts at $29K + taxes and fees, and that’s without the dealer markups...
As always great content, thanks for sharing!
Toyota has moved up-market. Reliability has pushed their brand higher. They are separating themselves from Kia, Hyundai, and Honda. It is an interesting move as Lexus will also have to improve to keep selling in the premium category.
Tell that to new Tunda owners who’s engines are exploding
@@kermit1 it’s about time to let it go nothing with a manufacturer stays forever they’ve had problems in the past as has every auto manufacture and they will get it fixed don’t be so obsessed lol

@@brocklanders6969 break down here your assertion please
The standard hybrid powertrain is a welcome addition to the Camry - the base 2.5L gas just feels a little rough and Toyota does hybrids so well it makes no sense not to go with the hybrid. Granted the ES would likely be even more refined to make up the price tag difference, but the Camry is the value king.
at over 40k, its really not a value.
The es350 is still much better
Agree. KIRK is losing his mind
I’ve been watching since you worked at Lexus! Sometimes I miss all of the Lexus reviews lol
The shocks are different on the Lexus.

Once you drive a Lexus you won't want to go to back to Toyota :D
@@naveenthemachine the NX is based on RAV4, you should have test driven the v6 ES. Nonetheless the Lexus will be superior in terms of quality and finish to your Camry.

@@papayaman123 Not if you compare some modern Lexuses to an XV10 gen 3 camry
The suspension on the Lexus ES is far better than any Camry. Also leather everywhere you touch, Really have no clue what buddy is getting at lol
I owned an IS350 and also owned a TRD Camry, not at the same time of course. I actually preferred the Camry TRD over the IS350. The big "L" did nothing for me, except got me comments from friends and co-workers, suggesting I had become "Uppity". I didn't like the impression I was giving people with the "L" over the "T".
It's nice that Toyota is sharing so much Lexus refinement with the Camry. That will only help keep it head and shoulders above the competition. But a Lexus person is never going to be happy with a Camry. It's just not even in the same league. I "personally" have no need to be in that league and would much prefer the Camry. Just the fact that the rear seat doesn't fold down in the ES prevents me from even being remotely interested in one. A Lexus person would just bring the GX 460 if they need the rear seat to fold down. I don't have options like that at my fingertips. In fact, if Toyota would introduce the Camry in a proper wagon form like the ones they used to sell in the 80's & 90's, I would MUCH prefer the Camry over the Lexus ESh. Especially if they made it available in the base LE trim and it could be purchased for say $3k more than the base sedan. I'd be all over it. But as they say, "different strokes for different folks."
Kirk and his hyper obsession with the ES and Camry comparison. I don't get it, but at this point, enough said. Folks, do your own research
You are right my friend. KIRK is has gone a bit mad . I really think he is saying these things to create drama in this comment section . otherwise come on
I like the 2025 Camry XSE, but, I absolutely hate the full glass roof! Here is my problem with that. There is a $1300 up charge for the full glass roof, which is fine if that's what you want. However, I want the XSE, but I DO NOT WANT THAT GLASS ROOF!!! Try to find a 2025 Camry XSE without a full-glass roof. You can't find one, so you are forced into paying $1300 for something you hate and would never want. I have also heard the full glass roofs on the 2025 Camrys have issues with breakage. Yes, they will self-destruct on their own. At least, that is what I've heard on YOU-tube videos and one local Toyota dealership from a friend that is a Toyota sales-person. Yes, I know there are plenty S.E. models with solid metal roofs, but I want an XSE with a solid roof. Thanks. If anyone knows or has found any 2025 XSE Camrys WITHOUT a glass-roof or sunroof, please reply. Wake up Toyota!
Appreciate the objective, honest review. The car should be a sales hit since it offers a Lexus-like driving experience, proven reliability from the carried over hybrid powertrain and an affordable price.
Kirk, In select markets where it is available, I hear the Camry LE AWD is the one to get. The 2024 Camry may be the best one since the days of the double rear wiper Camry wagon 😉😉

It’s a pet peeve of mine when the car reviewer gets the information wrong. Which happens quite often. Especially on new car models.
Nah, will stick with my 2020 es....6 cylinder bullet proof engine, better interior, quieter , better suspension and plusher ride. Toyota execs are not dumb, they would never allow the Camry to be that similar to their Lexus es 350 product. Manufacturers are very aware of keeping higher end vehicles from.being cannibalized by their mid tier products.
KIRK sometimes really say some funny stuff
I'm not a fan of their interface with the infotainment, the mouse thing. But you've already gotten used to it I'm sure

I plan on getting the 2025 Camry LE FWD. Just test drove one last weekend and was very impressed.
Thank you for this video! Yes, I have an LE 25 and is missing the energy flow monitor as you mentioned. Odd thing is that the owners manual says (p114) that you can see the energy Flow monitor on the multimedia screen not only on the digital cluster gauges. I think they didn't include at the very last minute. Hopefully, Toyota will update this.

Camry is great car but service experience, craftsmanship and warranty are better by far at the big L vs yota. My toyota dealership experience every time i go to the various ones in dc area is a pure letdown every time. Get what you pay for still holds up

That blue is nice on the car.
So I bought this 2025 Camry on July 2nd. I have opened the panoramic roof 4x and today I decided to look into the mechanics of the roof when opened, while I was detailing the car after it rained. I was shocked to find that the fabric which is exposed because it’s the headliner that comes up and wraps below the sunshade- anyways the fabric is drastically torn and ripped and coming apart - so I took photos and I’m taking the Camry to service department tomorrow. I can’t imagine them repairing the torn areas on both front corners so I guess I’ll be getting a new headliner. Hard to imagine it not happening again without a fix.
Damn, I live in Los Angeles. I went through a roller coaster just now with the traffic jam assist from exhilarated knowing it exists to utter devastation to learn it requires a subscription! 😭
I rode for 40 minutes in a brand new Grand Highlander yesterday on mostly freeway and although it was a nice ride with a nice captain seat and leg room the NVH and bounciness of the suspension was off putting. I normally drive a 2019 Altima and people forget what makes Sedans good, it is their ride quality. They just float over road imperfections where something like an SUV is going to be taught and bouncy comparably.
Those rims look good as hell!!

Test drove a brand new Camry XLE and then test drove a Lexus 2021 ES 300h... Decided on the used Lexus ES 300h with 32k miles and bought it 35k out the door. The comfort, quiet ride, smoothness and refinement is not even close. Camry just felt too cramped especially in the back seat.

I want this as a wagon in an AWD LE trim, since the Signia has 4th generation hybrid mechanicals and is priced too high IMO. If Subaru can sell 200k Outbacks per year, Toyota can sell plenty of Camry wagons if they would market it properly and make it look right.
Omg, I have the same Chicco Keyfit 30 carseat in my IS500 and I have put it behind the front passenger seat, otherwise I don't have enough leg room room to drive. Based on what I just saw, would you say the Camry doesn't have that problem?
