Yeah even things lie the type of oil it takes. Oil changes are gonna be real expensive, and it’s every 3-5k miles so it does add up. I really like the new design but I might go previous gen and save some money since I’m getting a Camry within a few months.
@@michaelvang3034 with emissions getting as strict as they are in the states, toyota couldn't really make a profitable car like the camry ICE only, im all for hybrid, better reliability, more torque and better economy. blame emissions, not toyota
I bought one three weeks ago and love it. I have now own three Camry's and love the line. This one is fully loaded. has everything I ever wanted in a Camry. I bought a 2025 Camry XSE.
This Camry is hybrid only though. So I don’t think you can go 24 years with this one without changing the hybrid battery. Wonder how much that would cost.
After much research, and watching a lot of your videos, I bought a well looked after 2015 non-hybrid Camry Sx earlier this year and I do not regret it one bit. I'm a normal guy with a normal job and this was the first car I've owned that cost more than $3,000. I bought it at 96,000km and hope to get it to 250,000km like the 2002 Camry I had before it. Yep, it’s to squeeze the last drop of mpg by using the thinnest oil possible. The owners manual says u can use other weight oils. Same engine that’s sold in other countries.
As owner of 2024 Camry XLE ICE 4 cylinder engine, I am glad Ahmed got to review this new generation, and as usual AMD will deliver it in most honest way possible that no other RUclipsr does.
We had been wanting to buy one of these but I couldn’t find any review from you Ahmed. I held my breath and bought one this week. What a relief to see this today!! Perfect timing!! Thanks
$27.98 0W8 at Walmart for 5 quarts of Mobile 1. I just did a quick check and it looks legit. However, this was not a kind move by Toyota as customers should not have to sweat an oil change. Great review, as always. Thank you.
I do appreciate the non biased and honest reviews given by the ccn. Tells it like it is based on a history of repairing, maintaining and owning Toyotas. I’d like to say thanks.
Let alone the gas saving, the hybrid Camry drives better than the regular Camry. Believe me. 333K miles on the clock as of today on my Camry Hybrid LE with no issues at all.
It's a nice car but the better gas mileage doesn't make a huge difference to trade in any 8th generation for the latest one. Just to go in debt. Nice try. I see why people stay in debt. If you are not buying car to get in debt not talking about you all
The GS and IS have always been smaller than the 8th Gen Camry. The IS is closer in size to the Corolla. And the GS is almost the size of the Camry. The LS is, of course, the size of the Avalon or so, being the Lexus flagship sedan.
Own a 2009 Camry Hybrid with 210K miles. I look forward to buying a used 2025 in 2045 with over $220K. An absolute home run for Toyota. Thanks for your honest review.....others try but I trust your deep dive on this one. May God bless you and the workers at your shop. You are doing a mighty work helping all of us keep our machines running down the road!
You will probably be living in the Matrix in 2045. Do you have any idea just how much the world is going to change in the next 20 years?? The Law of Accelerating Returns. Check it out.
I’m still driving my 2010 gas Camry which I bought brand new. This car has never missed an oil change, and it gets its rust proofing yearly. This car has never given me any trouble and it will quite possibly be the last car I own…yes I’ve installed a rear camera and remote car starter…I drive with my eyes open so who needs the lane sensors? The only thing to give out on this car was the gas struts for the hood..it opens fine, but won’t stay up.. so I use a stick to keep it propped open and the auxiliary channel is no longer working on the stereo I LOVE my car… and the BEST thing about it is…IT’S PAID FOR!!!😊💕💕
those struts are 40 dollars on amazon and can be changed with a flathead screwdriver, just dont slip and scratch the paint near the clips, i did that and spent more time with the touch up paint than the strut replacement itself .
You are right, we really don’t need lane sensors, however, those emergency braking systems are a god send. No matter how good a driver you are, there are poor drivers out there who will change lanes into yours and then suddenly brake. 🤷🏻♂️
These 10+ year old Camry's are still fun to drive! Our purchased new '11 with 134,000 miles on it is garaged, regular 5,000 mile oil changes, a radiator, belts and hoses, tires, and a $20 driver visor replaced. It has been on several coast to coast road trips and performs flawlessly at highway speeds. With little pressure on the gas pedal it accelerates from 65MPH to 80MPH to get around semi's hogging the middle lane on the interstates. Our aftermarket Kenwood entertainment screen provides apple CarPlay without a removable tablet looking screen on the newer Camry's. Sounds like if this '11 ever fails we will have a great option with the new Camry's! I also love my struts on the hood, and have asked the Toyota dealers that I have visited for oil changes, if they would put the struts on for free to sell me a new Camry - their response = YES!
I just bought this car in metalic white, replacing my metalic white 2006 Avalon Limited. The handling is excellent and I am not used to such low fuel usage. Room inside is much tighter than my old Avalon, but i still like it. Thanks for the info in this video.
Thank you, love your deep dives. Feels like I get a wonderful overview of the Camry. I agree, it's a .5 update, not all new. Except for the cheapening that's not a bad thing. Excellant narration, you get right to the point. Totally agree with you that incremental change is the way to go, in order to keep the legendary Toyota reliability.
I love your show. You appear to be a good decent man and honesty goes a long way with your viewers and subscribers. Keep up the good work and hopefully many more videos to come.
A 2025 Camry LE Hybrid wouldn't last 5 years. The Bottom of the Barrel or lowest Trim level always breaks down after the Basic Warranty Expires. A fully loaded 2025 Camry XSE Hybrid FWD has an MSRP of nearly $42,000 and AWD would be $43,500. I despise Hybrids and EVs and don't care about MPG. For myself, "ICE", is the only way to go! I own a 2023 Camry XSE V6 fully loaded MSRP of $41,305 and paid OTD $39,800 incl. Sales Tax, Registration, Plates, and all fees.
Been eagerly waiting for this review. Planning on upgrading from my 01 XLE next year to probably a 25 XSE so I’m glad you uploaded this to help justify my decision!
I bought a 2018 Camry Le and now have 60,000 miles on it. Never had a problem with it I just do all scheduled maintenance and keep it clean inside and out. It still looks and runs great and I plan on keeping it until the wheels fall off.
I still regret trading my 2005 for 2008 model. This is where Toyota crossed the line from real cars to junk. The Camry might still be better compared to other brands models but compared to its own legacy it's de-evolution. And if I'm paying 30K+ for a Camry I'd definitely skip it and go for a Lexus that offer pure V6 atmospheric engine, no turbo, no hybrid, no BS.
Saw one today and was quite impressed. They were chomping at the bit trying to get me to test drive and trade, but I don't need a new car OR payments. Love my Corolla SE with 6 speed manual!
I just bought a 2025 Camry SE in the reservoir blue with accessories etc, id say for the price its an absolute steal and the little details are amazing like at night if you walk near the car the interior lights automatically come on or the trunk jam lights up at night etc. I got a camry instead of the new mustang GT, i absolutely love this car and its made SOOOOO WELL.
I was waiting for this video for a while. Thank you! I bought an XLE specifically for the Dinamica because I LOVE the way it looks, but to each his own, and I highly respect your opinion :)
Yeah, I ended up getting one without that package even though there was one a city over. I got everything else, though. Mild regrets. Think it was around 37.5K without that
Currently have a 2020 XSE. 54K miles. Originally belonged to my dad before he got another car. Going to keep it for a couple more years. I’m keeping an eye on the 9th gen Camry as a replacement when the time comes. I’m a fan of the new Camry!
Mobil 1 0W-8 is readily available through Walmart and it's about $27.47 for five quarts. I just changed the oil and filter last month on my 2024 Corolla (at 2937 miles) and the oil came within two days of me ordering it on the Walmart website. I'm fine with a hood prop rod. It doesn't break and require new struts every few years. Sometimes simple is better. I do agree, I see Toyota's cheapening of some of the small details that made them strides above the rest. I agree, that interior microfiber looks tacky.
I've had my 2025 Camry XSE AWD in black for about a month. It's been an amazing car. Drives smooth. Sport mode gives it a jolt - plenty of power. Adaptive cruise is awesome. Interior looks impressive and materials feel high quality. EV mode in parking lots and quiet residential areas is great - using it way more than I thought. Looks low-key money in black with black badges IMO. I thought the gas mileage would be a bit better. If you drive like an angel it's great. But drive somewhat aggressive, it gets less impressive. Overall I'm so happy I bought one. I enjoy driving and looking at it. On top of that, my dealer got me the "dealer demo" so I was one of the first in Canada to take delivery of a 2025 Camry XSE AWD. Couldn't ask for more.
The 2025 base LE Camry has 16 inch alloy wheels, fabric seats, and gets over 60mpg real world. It’s near perfection for me. Only an old V6 LE manual would be superior.
I have a 1997 Camry that has never had a single part put in it other than normal maintenance (brakes, plugs etc.). It runs like new. I have no intention of ever buying electric or a hybrid car. Also, I use Full Synthetic Valvoline 5W-30 oil year round even in my 2012 4Runner. NO PROBLEMS!
Not ready to buy quite yet, my 2010 Camry V6 just got new paint, that 2GR is running like new. But when I do go on the "hunt" 2024 will be the cutoff year.
@@whitegoodman7465idk if you realized how expensive gas has become since 2022, and because of certain circumstances people can’t go full electric. 4cyl hybrids become popular because it’s for commuters who want good fuel economy. If you meant CVT by “CTV”, an eCVT is completely different from a traditional CVT. People just assume they’re the same because of the shitty naming scheme
Yours was the first review that highlighted the questionable aesthetic of the "microfibre" dashboard covering. And the fact that it will likely be difficult to clean. As always, your review was comprehensive and compelling. Thank you.
I hope one day, sedans make a big comeback. They are underrated and compared to other classes of vehicle, much more affordable to have. I am happy Toyota and Honda have continued to make them. I am a Civic driver myself, but at the time, the Camry SE woulda still been one of my top choices.
We have a RAV4 now but I really miss our 2018 Camry. Just something about a 4 door sedan and with the Camry you got a lot for your money. Great car for road trips and just really nice cabin to be in for long drives.
@@mikeboatright5349 I've got both now and I agree with you. Although with kids I do find it easier to put them in the RAV4 simply because of the height. I am 6'2 with a bad back.
I saw a RUclips where a newer Civic (not SI or anything) outran a cop car going 100 or something on an off ramp. Of course the driver was very good, but holy crap.
Toyota Avalon remains my absolute favorite Toyota vehicle ever made. Such an amazing car, especially when well-maintained. I have a friend with an 09 with over 450k miles and still runs like a dream
I hope one day, regular cars will make a comeback. Every new car review I watch makes me hate them more and more. I want a N/A, non-hybrid engine with a manual transmission. Why can't they at least give people like me that option? There are far more people like me than they realize.
it may not be the case for any new car to think this as you used to be able to on the older ones. there's parts engineered beyond reliability like the plastic valve cover. in 15 years the valve cover will be prone to cracking if you push on it too hard. I'm sure heat from oil and pressure in the head will work that out itself too.
My same thoughts, wait 15 years then buy a 9th Gen Camry. It will probably have a Dead Battery and faulty Electric Motors. But almost everything else will work providing you can find a replacement battery.
@@richscott2483 many people are buying 15+ year old Prius with dead traction battery replace it and sell for a small profit. It is only a 4 hour job to replace and can be done without any specialty tools
This Camry looks nice. My 2010 Camry with the 2.5L four cylinder with a 6 speed manual transmission has almost 270,000 miles on it and runs Great!! I can't afford these new car prices!!
Nice! I also had a 2010 6 speed manual! Only thing was a powersteering fluid line leak (common) but cheap to fix. Also brake calipers needed to be cleaned and lubed often. The exhaust heat shields did not last. I didn't like the cup holders, nor did I like the Mack truck-like shifter. Overall, I can't complain, though. How about yours?
Wife's car is a 2010 Camry Hybrid. Gets 38-40mpg and has nearly 200k miles. We primarily want the AWD feature without going to a crossover. Just put a deposit on a 2025 XLE. I could do without the pano roof tho...
I recently bought a 2025 Camry se. and I love it. This hybrid is one of the best driving hybrid vehicles on the market in my opinion. After 1,000 miles my only gripe with the car has to do with the interior. The b pillar driver side keeps rattling and it drives me nuts. Did some research and it seems pretty common on Toyota vehicles. My only advise is make sure you guys look out for that while you’re on the test drive. Also if anyone knows how to fix it Plz let me know
I really love my 2003 Camry. It only has 113000 miles. I have had no major issues except for routine maintenance. I can definitely get way more miles on the car. I plan to keep it for a while. Great car.
I just put a deposit on ours. Excited about it and hope to have it for the next 10 years if not longer. Thank you for all your videos. They're very helpful and easily the best and honest auto reviews, you are helping so many people out. God Bless!
Literally trying to decide whether to buy a 2025 Camry hybrid or Lexus V6 this week and was starting to do research. Our old friend CCN drops this gem today. Chefs kiss.
I would say go and drive each one and decide. 0 to 60 time is not significantly different between the two. But fuel economy is almost double on the hybrid. So you'd have to decide what you value more. Slight bump in 0 to 60 for double the cost of operations? I would say if you don't drive that much or just the average amount most Americans do it probably isn't such a big deal. But if you do a whole lot of city driving particularly the hybrid is going to definitely pay dividends. If you do a whole lot of long distance highway travel it will make less difference. Friend of mine has the previous generation V6 Camry and he averages low mid-30s at highway speeds.
0W-8 has been in use in Japan for a few years now. It was only recently (within six months) approved for use in the US. Many of your recent engines sold in North America requiring 0W-16 are actually designed to run on 0W-8, but were vetted for compatibility with 0W-16 in the North American market. Because of the recent approval, it's taking some time for the oil manufacturers to put together a 0W-8 oil for North American markets, get them certified, and put them on the market. Over the next six months, I suspect we'll see them become more common on the shelves at auto parts stores. :)
"designed to run on 0W-8" does not mean engine life will be optimized running oil that thin. Outside of the USA, Toyota owners manuals tell owners they can use 10W-30 even if their owners manual says 0W-8 is the factory fill oil.
I love my 2025 Camry XSE AWD. One of the reasons I went with XSE over XLE was because I didn’t like the fabric on the doors and dash. Shame Toyota didn’t put hood struts on the US version, especially since the Asian and European versions have them. It is also a shame that Toyota only gave a memory seat option to the XLE and not the XSE.
Thanks AMD for your honest and thorough reviews. You provide a valuable resource and service for all things Toyota. I forgot to mention this, in my earlier post which was unfortunately, primarily a rant.
It's funny, when The Straight Pipes reviewed this car they said the redesign of that passenger seat dash panel made the passenger feel less cramped than the previous generation.
I agree with your thought but the Hybrid transmission is all heavy duty planetary gears and electric motors (E-CVT) is more robust than an old school transmission. Have you ever heard of a Prius transmission failing? Look it up you will be impressed. It is not the rubber band CVTs in gas CVT cars.
Oh I’m sure it’s great. But in my market, the hybrid Camry was like $5-7k more. My only other consideration was a Mazda cx5 with no turbo and traditional transmission. Also full disclosure, my last 3 cars were gm products. I now see the light
Thank you for the honest review. Sounds like the Camry is still a great car technically, with several annoying quirks that older generations did not have, and several downgrades over the previous versions. I guess we passed the peak of best cars ever made, not just with the Camry. Glad they're still focusing on reliability, that's most important to Toyota buyers like me. That said, the Camry XLE now costs almost twice as much as what I paid for my 2014.5 Camry XLE, and just about the same as what I paid for my 2022 Avalon XLE, so you are absolutely correct that prices are getting out of control. Well, that's one more incentive to pamper the cars I have to make them last as long as possible.
@@FarmGalSal987 I did essentially the same thing in 2014 - I bought the 2014.5 Camry when the dealer had already started receiving the 2015 model, so I got a much better price than I otherwise would have.
I own a 2018 Camry hybrid with 200k miles with absolutely zero issues so far. The key point is I have only used 5W30 synthetic oil every 7k miles. Zero leaks zero oil burns
I'm so excited to see every new review from you especially on the new Camry which I am considering getting in a year or 2. I like the new Camry very much but it's gone too long (194") and I wish they trim a couple inches on both ends. Can you also do a review on the new Civic Hybrid? That one is also on my list.
I see I am not alone! I agree on the length! I am currently driving a '94 Lexus es300 and it's 188" and that's plenty long... and it's 1" narrower... in urban driving, sometimes it really is a game of inches, and the old Lexus seems just about perfect.
I am proud to hear you say little (almost nothing) has changed in the drivetrain. When you get something right and then throw it away just to make something "all new", customers get to test your new crap that may or may not hold up.
I haver a 2025 LE and I now have 2500 miles on it. I just changed the oil at 2270. I got the Mobil one 0W8 at Walmart with a Toyota filter, my total oil cost with filter was under $35. I did a trip from NY to NC on I95. My average MPG was 57MPG. The dash said 54MPG. My local driving is giving me between 54 and 69 on the dash calculator. The hood is so heavy that I don't think that my wife can lift it. I don't have that ugly microfiber on my base LE, the interior is all black. Now I just have to find a way to get power to my dashcam and radar detector. My LE was $32000 out the door.
@@mick2495 I'm trying to figure out how to remove the sunglass holder. That is where I was going to get power but I'm afraid of breaking the map light console. The 2023 pulls down from the front but 2025 look different. I need a shop manual for this car.
I just got a 2025 LE for 30,750 out the door price 3 days ago. Why you change oil by yourself. You got 3 year maintenance (free oil change for 3 years) with 100,000 or 7 years on power/tran.
You can go every six months. They will rotate your tires for free and I believe a new oil filter. But yes one year or 10K miles whichever comes first for actual oil chg
I have a 1998 Camry. Made in Australia and imported here new to New Zealand fully built up. It has the gas struts to hold the hood up. Maybe a hood prop like in my 1993 Corona was put back in the 2021/2025 because I'm guessing that a hood prop is lighter than the 2 gas struts. The gas struts will eventually pack up too. Mine did and i just put new ones in. A hood prop i doubt will ever pack up either. Oh Mr CCN, i change my engine oil and filter every 5000 kilometers (3000 mls)religiously and shes just clicked over 255000 kilometers. 👍
I like the 2018, 19 and 20 with the headunit integrated into the dashboard without sticking up in my face, the proper 8 speed automatic transmission, the front end styling of the LE.
I bought a 2024 XSE based on Car Care Nuts Hybrid video. He said, "Who shouldn't buy a hybrid...ppl with a heavy foot." 😂 I'm so glad I did too. I love every inch of my car. The interior is sporty to match the exterior...full gasoline 4 banger with a real transmission. Even has a nice exhaust note. We also still have our 97 Camry with 160k miles on it that my daughter drives now. Another great vid! 👏
2019 Camry XSE 2.5. I bought brand new, and it was totaled by an 18 wheeler rear ending it, and side swiping it 05/31/2023. That car took me everywhere. It was my daily driver, and it hurt my heart when it was totaled. I put 252,000 miles on that car simply by oil changes, OEM plugs, keeping the coolant changed my fuel pump didn’t have an issue but it was recalled and replaced by Toyota at 116,000 miles. I MISS THAT CAR.
My 2018 Camry Hybrid LE has 122,000 miles, no issues. Full synthetic oil changes every 10,000 miles, new spark plugs at 100,000 miles, original brakes, new tires every 50,000 miles, and that's it. Average 50 mpg on Eco mode.
Somebody was smoking crack that put microfiber right next to the cupholder like that. What were they thinking?!? My plastic interior constantly gets coke and coffee wiped off the plastic on the dash. I can't even imagine what that microfiber dash bit will look like in a year.
I have a 2031 le hybrid. 50k miles. All black with black badging. I switched out the 16 steel wheels for 17 inch black alloys and slightly wider tires. Also put in aftermarket lexus style yaillights with sequence signals. Next switching headlights. I seriously think mine looks better than the new style. Also been getting 50 mpg total life and with full battery does 0 to 60 in 7.5. . Passing on the highway is a dream except for the drone. Ill keep this until the next gen in 5 years.
Because of the Kia and Hyundai madness, I had to get rid of my old Elantra. I watched a lot of your videos before deciding to get this car 3 weeks ago. Finally, now you released a video on this model. And I'm glad even with all the unnecessary updates, you still think it's a very reliable car. Thank you so much for all of your videos! 😊
My microfiber couch is 20 years old, still looks good and easy to clean, red wine and coffee have both cleaned up well, is there another fabric you think would last longer and wear better? I trust that Toyota has got this figured out.
I have a 2020 CamrySE Night Shade, 5k oil changes religiously, 0-16 for winter months, 0-20 in summer. Always use Amsoil, 70k miles so far, never an issue. I’m planning for at least 270k miles. Change you oil folks Only thing I ever needed in this car is Brake pads. 👍 I average 41 miles per gallon at 70MPH, with cruise control. ⛽️
@@ericd1632 Disagree, warmer weather the heavier grade is more protective. The thinner oil rating are for fuel EPA ratings that manufacturers have to abide by. 0-20 will flow just as well through oil passages as 0-16. And now, with 90+ degree temps, I’m glad for the 0-20, and yet I get over 40 MPG For winter start ups, of course go back to 0-16, And “100%” Synthetic Amsoil, not the “full” synthetic crap you get at Walmart, there is a difference.
I wish it felt safe to still drive a sedan. With everyone driving trucks and SUV’s, you can’t even see ahead of you on the road and physics dictate that the sedan driver loses more than not in a collision. If only we had smaller roads like in Ireland…
I purchased my 2013 Camry Hybrid XLE for around $30k. I changed the hybrid battery at 210k miles in 2023. Absolutely no issues other than regular maintenance. That is so cool….yes!
It's a nice car but the better gas mileage doesn't make a huge difference to trade in any 8th generation for the latest one. Just to go in debt. Nice try. I see why people stay in debt. If you are not buying car to get in debt not talking about you all
Still enjoying my 2005 Camry. With over 300,000 miles. 20 years and still going.
Hybrids are the most horrible driving experience I've ever had. I can't believe like you who claim they are good to drive.
How do you know what the other one drives when you have 333k miles on your car
I have a 2000 Lexus GS400 and I was parked next to a new Camry the other day and that thing was bigger than my GS400 😳. Amazing.
The GS and IS have always been smaller than the 8th Gen Camry. The IS is closer in size to the Corolla. And the GS is almost the size of the Camry. The LS is, of course, the size of the Avalon or so, being the Lexus flagship sedan.
Yea i just got one and its crazy how much space there is and the cargo space is INSANE in the trunk.

I bought one 4 months ago, love it. Can't beat the mileage, gets up and goes pretty good.
I just bought my 2025 Toyota Camry 1 month ago and I love it! 💙💙💙
The only thing to give out on this car was the gas struts for the hood..it opens fine, but won’t stay up.. so I use a stick to keep it propped open and the auxiliary channel is no longer working on the stereo
I LOVE my car… and the BEST thing about it is…IT’S PAID FOR!!!😊💕💕
those struts are 40 dollars on amazon and can be changed with a flathead screwdriver, just dont slip and scratch the paint near the clips, i did that and spent more time with the touch up paint than the strut replacement itself .
I love mine. It’s so great. Went from a 15 Tacoma getting 19mpg to this I’ve been able to achieve 58.9 mpg over 168 miles.
Wow
My 95 nissan truck is getting about 22 mpg, my 2011 mazda 3 gets 35-40mpg. It does annoy me keeping the truck's tank full.
how do you like the drive?
Really? Huh.... 😏🤨
Nice. I've only gotten to 57
I just bought this car in metalic white, replacing my metalic white 2006 Avalon Limited.

Still driving my 2005 Camry fully optioned. Solid as a tank. Over 20 years old & running smooth. Toronto, Canada

Sadly I think the camry may now be better looking than the mustang...

I have one. U can buy 0w8 or 0w16 at any Walmart which is an acceptable oil according to the owner’s manual. We love the car! So quiet on the road.
After a whole month? I hope so.
Change that break in oil out
The 2025 base LE Camry has 16 inch alloy wheels, fabric seats, and gets over 60mpg real world. It’s near perfection for me. Only an old V6 LE manual would be superior.

We have a RAV4 now but I really miss our 2018 Camry. Just something about a 4 door sedan and with the Camry you got a lot for your money. Great car for road trips and just really nice cabin to be in for long drives.

I hope one day, regular cars will make a comeback. Every new car review I watch makes me hate them more and more. I want a N/A, non-hybrid engine with a manual transmission. Why can't they at least give people like me that option? There are far more people like me than they realize.
Can't wait to buy this in 15 years with 200,000 miles and love it to death
it may not be the case for any new car to think this as you used to be able to on the older ones. there's parts engineered beyond reliability like the plastic valve cover. in 15 years the valve cover will be prone to cracking if you push on it too hard. I'm sure heat from oil and pressure in the head will work that out itself too.
Using 0w8 i don't think it will go that far.
Don't forget to budget extra 4 grand for hybrid battery replacements + labor
My same thoughts, wait 15 years then buy a 9th Gen Camry. It will probably have a Dead Battery and faulty Electric Motors. But almost everything else will work providing you can find a replacement battery.

Literally trying to decide whether to buy a 2025 Camry hybrid or Lexus V6 this week and was starting to do research. Our old friend CCN drops this gem today. Chefs kiss.
Go with the Lexus V6. Which model Lexus?
25 avg mpg vs 50 avg mpg. Your money, your choice.
V6 no regrets
Lexus, better resale
Toyota USA cost cutting
Thanks AMD for your honest and thorough reviews. You provide a valuable resource and service for all things Toyota. I forgot to mention this, in my earlier post which was unfortunately, primarily a rant.
I have a 2011 ES, it's still runs like brand new, I might pick up this Camry in 5 years, it's nice.
It's funny, when The Straight Pipes reviewed this car they said the redesign of that passenger seat dash panel made the passenger feel less cramped than the previous generation.
I’m glad I bought a 2024 with the ICE 4cyl and old school transmission
I agree with your thought but the Hybrid transmission is all heavy duty planetary gears and electric motors (E-CVT) is more robust than an old school transmission. Have you ever heard of a Prius transmission failing? Look it up you will be impressed. It is not the rubber band CVTs in gas CVT cars.
Oh I’m sure it’s great. But in my market, the hybrid Camry was like $5-7k more. My only other consideration was a Mazda cx5 with no turbo and traditional transmission.
Also full disclosure, my last 3 cars were gm products. I now see the light
last of the great old school. treat it right oil changes every 5k or less. should take care of you.
Well said. Bought a 2024 XLE in May, bc the 2025 was priced 8k more.
@@FarmGalSal987 I did essentially the same thing in 2014 - I bought the 2014.5 Camry when the dealer had already started receiving the 2015 model, so I got a much better price than I otherwise would have.
peak car reliability happened in the early 00s before VVT and throttle by wire became standard, and many cars still had a iron block engine
the reviews are amazing, they say it drives better in everyway
I own a 2018 Camry hybrid with 200k miles with absolutely zero issues so far. The key point is I have only used 5W30 synthetic oil every 7k miles. Zero leaks zero oil burns
No dip on mileage due to the thicker grade? No carbon buildup from blowby? (I know I know but I ask anyways).
I loathe sedans, but this is a nice car, especially for the money. If we could have a wagon version, I'd be all over it.
Thank you for the awesome review! Hoping you make some updated maintenance, how to videos for the hybrids.
Yeah I wish he would make something specific for this car 😢
I am proud to hear you say little (almost nothing) has changed in the drivetrain. When you get something right and then throw it away just to make something "all new", customers get to test your new crap that may or may not hold up.

Finally, now you released a video on this model. And I'm glad even with all the unnecessary updates, you still think it's a very reliable car. Thank you so much for all of your videos! 😊
"Horrendous" is the perfect description of the crappy microfiber covering!
My microfiber couch is 20 years old, still looks good and easy to clean, red wine and coffee have both cleaned up well, is there another fabric you think would last longer and wear better? I trust that Toyota has got this figured out.
In;Ike it in mine-but it’s the dark gray
@@WengertD I like my leather interior on my 2020 Camry
I have a 2020 CamrySE Night Shade, 5k oil changes religiously, 0-16 for winter months, 0-20 in summer. Always use Amsoil, 70k miles so far, never an issue.
I’m planning for at least 270k miles.
Change you oil folks
Only thing I ever needed in this car is Brake pads. 👍
I average 41 miles per gallon at 70MPH, with cruise control. ⛽️
This guy says it's ok to use 0W-20 if 0W-16 isn't available, but the next oil change you need to use 0W-16
Is it the hybrid or regular motor?
@@ericd1632
Disagree, warmer weather the heavier grade is more protective.
The thinner oil rating are for fuel EPA ratings that manufacturers have to abide by.
0-20 will flow just as well through oil passages as 0-16.
And now, with 90+ degree temps, I’m glad for the 0-20, and yet I get over 40 MPG
For winter start ups, of course go back to 0-16, And “100%” Synthetic Amsoil, not the “full” synthetic crap you get at Walmart, there is a difference.

Regular, I’m not and never will be a Hybrid owner.
Just more shit to go wrong, even if it is a Toyota.
@@elithegreat6463Toyotas hybrid powertrains are the most reliable than any other company in the world. Look it up
I wish it felt safe to still drive a sedan.
The higher price tag will be worth the pain of paying for crazy maintenance like you would with other makers. Toyota is all about quality and reliability
You're so precise and funny at the same time. I liked when you said let me translate that microfiber trim... horrendous. lol I really enjoy your reviews.
A doughnut is still better then a can of fix a flat and a prayer. As long as Toyota is still giving you a spare I will continue to applaud them for it.
