May 2020 , and its still working. And it will be working forever, since is a rng game to begin with. Thanks to your video I remember to cure myself after the punches, I was missing that.

Its not working for me, chest doesnt spawn at all, instead of yagyu jar Ultima blade jar spawned, still tried 24 hit and 3 cure but obiovsly it didnt work, i tried other items b4 this one but still they didnt spawn, may be last updates messed all up! If someone wanna try that and let me know would be appreciated! 👍
Still work as of October 27 2019. Clear the zone by going up and down the map until no monster spawn. Choose the two character you want to use. I used fran as the hitter and vaan to loot, reddas was also here as a guest so it still work. Don’t forget to let the character you chose run out any buff they have, remove any equipment the hitter got just to be sure, and put the diamond armlet on your looter. Then just do like he did quit the game after zoning out and in. Cure rex until you get the value of 96 87 93. Return to title, load quick save hug the right wall and get to the chest. Hit yourself 24 time with unarmed 0 damage 24 time and cast 3 cure with the hitter to himself. Then simply loot. I had 2 wolf that spawned a little far to the chest but i was careful and still got it.

Is there a level requirement to get the chest to spawn? Currently level 43 on all characters and no chest spawn. [Edit] On my 4th attempt (after following autosave, reks, zone in) the chest spawned. Success as of 8/8/20. Thank you for your videos!
Here's an easier method just run in and out of the area it took me ten mintues lol or just go through trial mode it's there I believe or heck you can sell materials to get it has well if I'm not thinking of a different one
Good to know! I've been having trouble getting the chest to load. I've cleared the area from monsters. I have full hp/MP with no buffs, I zone out then in to get my autosave. Completely close the game then go into my reks file. I get my 96 87 93 with reks. Then go into my file, head towards the chest but it's not spawning. Am I missing something? Edit: so I ended up clearing up the area again and the chest spawned and got the blade. Sweet!
@@UltimaRomance I had trouble aswell in the end it was because either my mist was not fully charged or I had a piece of gear on someone. So I removed most gear except ash and made sure mist was full. Yeah also I did a full clear of map not just near chest
The reks stuff doesnt work on Switch sadly. In fact Square changed the code on all subsequent releases after PS4 so that system remains the only console the Reks manipulation stuff consistantly works with.
Dang it, I am missing something, I can only get gil from the chest. The Seitengrat trick worked for me and I also succeeded with the Gendarme, so I was sure this would work too. I am on PS5 btw, digital edition of Zodiac Age.

I’m having trouble with Ashe inflicting 0 damage on herself for the 24 hits. She is unarmed with an attack power of 12 and strength at 70 and has lordly robes with a golden skullcap on. Any advice on how to make the damage 0?
Ive tried 4 times and the chest won’t spawn. I’ve made sure I picked a character that does 0 damage. No buffs and full health. I’ve wasted hours trying to make it happen lol.
make sure everyone in your party has full mp. I was having issues but when i noticed that the mp gradually regenerates over time i filled up the mp and tried again and it works. the numbers changing messes with the rng.

Still works as of 1/15/2020 I had to turn off the internet connection on the PS4 in order to get the correct cure values with Reks. Not sure why this worked but I was having trouble getting the correct numbers to show up so I did a Google search and someone had suggested the internet connection somehow had an effect so I tried turning it off and it ended up working. I ended up having to start over because I had to leave my house so I tuned off my PS4 and when I came back to try again I began getting the incorrect values again even with the internet off. So I tried closing the game completely and reloading and that fixed it. Also I’m not sure if this had an effect or not but I only had one character in my party, the one that needed to hit themself, cure, and open the chest. I had a couple failed attempts when I had 2 party members like in the video and I was only getting Gil from the chest. But I’m also not sure if I could have miscounted the “hitting yourself” portion. I dunno but whatever it worked!!!

In my experience this is usually the case if a) Reks does not have Magick Power of 23 (you can check this in status menu) or b) you did not do a hard reset before loading up the Reks save file.
My reks heals won't add up properly. Magic is 23. I'm resetting the game entirely. IDK what is happening. I get it in reverse order every time though, 93, 87, 96. But never the correct order. I've tried for so long and nothing... Why?
Random Number Generator. It effects when things(monsters & chests) will spawn, what items will be in them etc. It’s supposed to be random, but in this game it isn’t, and people learned to manipulate it almost perfectly.
Hmm if followed correctly this will work, so something is still changing your RNG. Make sure no active party member is wearing Ribbons or any other item that has hidden effects. Just gotta find out whats interfering with your RNG really.

Tried 4 times it didn’t work got gil each time the went to The save crystal and topped up the mist gauge and worked first time after

Trial mode method is level 98 fighting Yiazmat himself. And there's no recipe for it being the strongest blade.

Marcus Williams does she have the perk for Brawler? Unarmed attacks do more damage? I made sure to avoid that on my playthru

Yes. It only works on PS4 but just start a new game and create a new save file with Reks. Make sure his magic stat is 23 (it usually is).

Hmm... are you on PS4? This method was fixed on all the other consoles and PC, but still works to this day on PS4 with the latest update.
