I joined the golf team from my school about 3 months ago, not knowing anything about golf. I was really really bad, I started watching your videos and started to improve so much, I can finally hit my driver almost 200 yards when I couldn’t even hit it 2 months ago. My coach just invited me to a varsity tournament earlier this week, and I’m really looking forward to it. Thank you for everything!
Danny, My son just graduated university and asked me to teach him the game of golf; my heart leapt with excitement. Then I realized the challenge before us. Your body of instruction videos along with the content on your website are invaluable to us duffers of all ages. This specific video may be the pinnacle of your teachings for which I am grateful to have as a tool to share in building a love for the game with my son. Thank you more than I can say. Hey Presto BP
Love your videos, one thing that completely changed my swing was realizing a controlled swing goes further and straighter than trying to smash it. It’s hard to see the distance needed and not want to try to crush it, but knowing it’s not necessary has been a game changer.
The video Danny recommends at the end of this one is really worth a look. Ive just rewatched it and it's had nearly 2 million views. Great for balance.
"Learn your speed for the day" was an immediate light bulb moment today. With the weather cooling, I was acting like it was still Summer and I was loose. Slowed it down and had a lot more fun. Thanks, Danny.
Thank you for an excellent, very helpful video. Your jet lag has gone & you are your usual enthusiastic self. This afternoon I will try out the 6 pillars in my golf net. Your enthusiasm is infectious.
6 fantastic lessons in just one video! The only coach to do this on RUclips! Thank you Danny for this gift this week. You are by far the best golf coach. 😉
Love the videos, but I cannot find the “practice guide”. I see the transcript but cannot find the “practice guide” that is always mentioned as being below.
Great lessons Danny. My back was in rancid condition yesterday and today so I had to do a lot of those gentler, softer approaches to hitting the ball - barely swung driver. I’m a 63 year old, 17 handicapper and I hit almost every fairway and did a 91 then 86. I’m never going back to swinging like a lunatic again. My back will love me😊.
Thanks Danny. The slow swing before fast is something I’m going to try with my pitching. I’ve been struggling with that aspect of my game. I need to just get some confidence with a slower swing. Thanks.
I absolutely love your teaching. I wish i could get a live lesson. Your videos have gotten me so far. I think one day would get me miles further!! Thank you very much
I lost my feel and swing with my woods and driver. It was so frustrating. But after watching your setup for driver and swing with step by step clearly explained ive realized what was missing. Your grip certainly was a part of my issue. Thankyou for your assistance in me starting to enjoy my woods and driver again.
Wow Danny! What a nice lesson. I have been playing to a 9 handicap from the senior tees. For the last 3 months I have been inconsistent playing +5 more strokes. Swinging too hard. Lack of confidence. I have wanted to reconstruct my swing to get more consistency. I am going to take this lesson to the range and work on getting my swing under control to get better contact. Once I get more comfortable with my contact and distance I will increase my swing speed with more control. Thank you for the great lesson.
I am a new subscriber, but have watched Danny's videos for a couple of years. This is an excellent set of points to run through in practice. It's great to see them brought together in one, concise video. This should help inexperienced golfers get the basis in place before adding tweaks to get to the next level. Thank you Danny
Love the content! I have a 9 year old that is loving Golf at the moment, it would be nice to see a video of how to improve junior golfer from ground up, drills, what to focus on etc.
There is no difference in the basics, what ever age. Find sound routines, stick with what works and for Pete’s sake, stop watching a bunch of golf experts, it only add to confusion. Good luck to your 9 year old. And one more thing, help making it fun to play golf, it’s a game for a lifetime.
I’m planning a vacation to Europe within the next couple of years. I would like to get a lesson from you. I think you’re one of the best golf coaches in the world hands down. I love your content for us average golfers.
Brilliant! It's so simple. I will take this out to the range, work on it a bit, and no doubt this will help take a few more strokes off the already 32 that Sir Danny has helped me take off. Keep it simple and have fun is a great approach. Thanks DM.
Hi Danny Thank you so much!! I am in a senior community, so I have passed your name to friends who are looking to learn the game of golf. I a wonderful couple from Canada and needless to say they love you. there favorite video is with your father. Me too. Thank you
Feet together drill. One of the simplest and best drills in the business. My coach in NZ, who also taught Grant Waite, still uses this drill today. But, feet together, touching.
Great stuff. I used similar process for my range practice this year. Gained crazy distance and impact. When I struggle now I slow down and really try to chip 150 yards. It's really the same as practicing chipping but using my lower body. Its amazing to see my 9iron which used to go 115-130 now go 150-170. Now this was helped with gym work as well. Late in the fall I played a hole where I used to use my 6-7 iron last year and sometimes 5iron. I decided to use my 9iron go to front of green. My 9iron rolled out to 170 and it carried the bunkers and hit green. To carry bunkers is 160 :) can't wait to next year to continue this journey.
these are great tips to always remember before you go out to play. especially the one with the feet closer together. I find it really keeps you centered and hitting the ball much better.
I've found that keeping the ball back in my stance and keeping the face slightly open really helps with my over the top swing style. Before, I was pulling everything.
Danny Let me say THANK YOU!!! for what you are doing for amateur golfers like myself. I used some of your tips for swinging a driver and, because of you i left the driving range with a smile on my face. I have a Slice so bad that i feel as though, I play more from the weeds or taking Drops, just to finish a hole. But because of your videos My Drives were either straight or actually hit a draw. THANK YOU!!!! You have actually gave a desire to play Golf again.
A really great video Danny, as a senior golfer coming to the game later in life, currently playing off 25; the idea of good solid, straight, consistent strikes of 150 yards will get me round sub-100 every time. That for me is where I want to be at the moment, then gradually build on that. Always excellent content and advice Danny
Great video Danny! Everything you mentioned was wonderful and very useful, especially for someone like me who has not played in quite some time due to injury. I plan on incorporating your "pillars" when I return to the practice range.
Hi Danny, excellent video again. I have always struggled with shifting weight to my left side. I have had a light bulb moment 💡🙂 For a drill, If I put a heavy French Boule down instead of a golf ball, address the ball, move my left foot to the right about 6 inches then in one movement push the boule and move my left foot back to the normal set up position. Do you think this will help me to shift my weight to my left side. Cheers Clive
Thank you so much. This tutorial is so easy to follow and understand. You have a gift to teach. Thank you again for sharing. I intend to use this to hopefully improve my game.
Another great video Danny, many thanks. One quick question on driver ball position please. You're saying in line with leading big toe but I'm sure a lot of your earlier videos has just inside leading heal. Is there a difference?
Hi Danny, i am a fully golf infected beginner from Germany (HC37) playing since 1,5 years and you are my favourite coach. Wish you were based in Germany! ;)
This was "brilliant" made a huge difference. I practice each pillar prior to tee off, and once on course to Pillar 2, 4, 5 before each shot (quickly) Working on #6 not quite there yet.
Great video today. Can you devote a video to indoor winter drills to get ready for Spring. Golf is pretty much shut down here in Canada and I have moved my net indoors. Need to work on basics. Many Thanks.
I commented on a previous video that I used your feet together drill and this improved my ball strike immensely. I’ll try with my feet slightly apart and see the results.
@@DanielMaudeBecause of the weather, i haven’t had a lot of time to try this out. In the short time i have had i had the tendency to hit the ball left. Note I am left handed playing golf right handed. What I think is happening is I am not getting my weight to the front foot quick enough and my mind senses this and my left hand takes over and closes the club rather than hitting it to the right. When the weather improves, I will wear my hack motion and see what is happening with my left wrist. What is your take?
More fantastic information Danny how I wish we had this years ago 69 now love my golf but all this great information was missing when I needed it. Thank you again 👍🏻
It's always great to see and hear you have the humility and maturity to give those who inspire you credit for the content you make, Danny. Sadly, I've had younger learners claim my ideas as their own in my industry, and I see this all of the time on social media with younger golf players making content. As a role model, you should be an inspiration to them, too! Brilliant content as always!
Luv it, especially #3. I seem to have trouble getting myself to hit the ground instead of picking the ball off of it. I hope there is a follow up video, 27 more pillars!
Pillar 3 drill is interesting. I usually do the opposite drill, move the ball far forward, in order to get my body shifting forward well. Do you think these drills would be good in tandem?
Great work, Danny. You’d make a great pitcher! In Pillar 3 are you using a long iron for such a forward ball position? I thought with a 7 iron, ball goes in middle of stance. You’re kind how you are happy to promote fellow coaches. We’ll never leave you, that’s for sure! Perhaps you can check out Adam Young’s differential practice drills which build skill. They add a new dimension to learning and are fun. Thanks as ever, Danny.
I love your videos but still find myself hitting the ground before the ball. I had an idea to put a wooden rail on the ground in front of the mat aligned at about 5 degrees or so to the right of the target. Then I set up square to the target but align back of hand and club face with the board at setup. I then push back of hand and club face away on this line as far as possible, complete backswing and then make sure I hit through the ball exactly on this line. Just using this swing thought I am now hitting the ball better usually with a gentle draw to the target. I find it a great visual aid. Hope this makes sense. What do you think?
Question: how long do you practice with pillar 1, strong grip before weak grip? And others as well? Is it just a warm up before going to your round? Thx for your advice and congrats for your video tips which I always try to implement in my swing. Cheers Loic
this dude is a great teacher. I use this at the range for 10 balls for driver and irons before I go full stance . Unfortunately I still fat or straight up chunk shots on the course from time to time. lol
@@DanielMaude lets see an around the greens lesson. Short chips and nippers a foot or two off the fringe. Ive been working hard on this. I would love to see your take on this shot.

Maybe I can just tow that hitting mat behind the cart and use it on every shot? Have a great weekend Danny! Thanks again!
Danny, my normal ball flight is a slight draw. But when I move the ball back to make better contact I usually shank it or hit it weakly to the right. Any suggestions for why that might be happening or how to adjust to it??
