The Air 2S, Air 2 & DJI Mini 2 are all capable of producing outstanding cinematic video, as long as you make use of some key settings for the Gimbal and Camera
I explain how adjusting Pitch Speed, Pitch Smoothness, Yaw Rotational Speed and Yaw Smoothness can smooth out your flying letting you take truly cinematic footage.

Totally agree. Many tutorials show cinematic videos but they didn't open their gimbal settings. But Ian teach us the most important thing of drone.

A small addendum though. Maybe the Mini 2 menus have been updated, but mine doesn't have "advanced Gimbal Settings", but the same controls can be found under "Gain & Expo Tuning". And Pitch is now called Gimbal. There's an additional control setting for "Expo" in Normal & Sport modes

Thanks for a really simple explanation of these settings. I’ve only flown my Mini 2 a couple of times since I got it so I haven’t really had time to think about fine tuning the controls yet. I think I will start with your suggested settings as you’ve done the trial and error already for us!

Single BEST Tip I've seen yet for a new flyer... the "jumpy" Gimbal has been driving me crazy since I bought this thing a month ago, so much so that I've been shooting more "still" photos! Not anymore... I'll be changing some settings tomorrow afternoon, thanks to you, Ian!!!

Started playing around with these settings after my second flight. Thanks for explaining what each slider does in depth. I do tend to leave sport mode on stock settings as the only purpose I find for it is getting from a to b.

I do use low pitch/yaw values, but not quite so high on smoothness as you, particularly on yaw smoothness. I detest the overrun that causes you to miss your target, even after many attempts to predict tge amount and timing of that overrun. 15 tops, and only on Cine. Additionally, Sport mode is not meant for filming anything. It is for sporty flying, not filming. That said, I have slowed speed & smoothness by about 20% from default, mostly because I suck at sporty flying! Thanks for a sorely needed discussion on this!
Yep, the overshoot can b annoying, so you need to play and work out what's right for you as you say.... Cheers
