    I think there's a small area to clarify, otherwise great info. Yaw Rotation speed is different, it's if the drone remains flat and rotates, ie how fast it pans left to right. Imagine if you placed the drone on the ground and put a nail through the middle that it spins on. This is especially important when getting those cool cinematic shots of circling objects, where you focus on the subject but are drifting sideways. The easiest way to visualize it is to think of a GoPro bolted to a car's bonnet in Fast and Furious. Yaw Rotation is how responsive the car is when you move the steering wheel, Yaw smoothness is how smooth your steering movements are. It's about trying to keep your subject in the center of the image while you're drifting sideways. Ideal camera shots are achieved exactly like how cars drift in the movies.
    The circle follow mode is doing exactly this.

    this was a very simple way and very clear way to explain the different modes!! thank you, So many people just rush through these modes thinking everyone knows and we don't thanks for slowing it down and giving us a clear picture on what is going on!!

    I'm not sure how DJI defines their terms, but normally yaw is around a vertical axis, the drone doesn't move, just spins around the axis. In you demo on yaw speed, you are simulating roll rather than yaw with your hand or in other words right stick vs left stick. Haven't had a chance to try it yet. FYI

      It seems with DJI new flight app they have taken what used to be multiple flight control options and put them all together. So from everything I can see from fiddling around with the menus it seems the roll and yaw are now the same slider for the Air 2s, and that same slider controls them both. But who knows I could just be missing something haha

    • @pittsimaging
      @pittsimaging 3 года назад +2

      You are correct he is describing ROLL but saying it is YAW. YAW is spinning on clockwise or counterclockwise on the X axis.

    Dude you just saved my butt! I didn't know we could tweak the yaw. Im planning on taking a Ken Burns style pan shot of my hometown's concert and I was practicing and I couldn't get it slow enough. I didn't know it had these options

    Very helpful to see your settings. Thanks!
    Your explanation of the yaw settings seemed to not correspond to what “yaw” actually means, but that did not take away from the numbers you recommend.

      I have actually learned from the experience and bought myself a teleprompter so when I'm talking about important things I don't mix it up in my head while talking off the cuff. Good catch though and glad it was helpful

    Thanks,. I used to have the Mavic pro, but it was stolen, Replaced it with the Air 2s and it has been good for my "Golf & Tesla channel", but thought the pre-set cinematic mode was "too fast" . so your clip is helpful and I will change the settings accordingly

    Hi, is there any way to reverse the directions of the gimbal wheel? It’s contrast to the logic of any flight mechanism. It should be rolling wheel forward- gimbal goes down, and pulling down- goes up. And it’s the other way round. That’s really irritating

    • @jeremydeihl
      @jeremydeihl  Год назад

      Unfortunately I'm not aware of the ability to do that, though there may be an inversion option in the menus

    Do you prefer auto or manual focus? Haven’t ran in to it much but a few times the auto focus shows focal adjustments during filming

    • @jeremydeihl
      @jeremydeihl  3 года назад

      I prefer to use auto for most situations. I only switch over to manual focus when I'm trying to do something very specific like a reveal shot from behind a tree/building or something like that

    I don't want to sound like a "know it all" pain in the ass, but when you were referencing YAW your hand was replicating the change in the roll (tipping one wing - or side - down while the other tips up) of the craft. But that's not yaw. Yaw is the change in the facing direction (left to right / right to left) of the craft as it sits on an axis point. I only mention this because it was pretty confusing.

      Hey there Ken! Crazy this video has been seen so many times and no-one ever caught that, not even myself 🤣 you know how it is sometimes when rambling to the camera every once in a while you are bound to flub something up. Good catch

    Thank you, how do I reduce the rotation of the drone slowly in the available modes

    • @jeremydeihl
      @jeremydeihl  2 года назад

      You would be looking for the "Yaw" settings to control that left to right rotational pivot.

      @@jeremydeihl same i used to make better (smoother) shot with the air 1. It's a shame they take out the stick curved setting. Maybe it is achievable with an 3th party app.
