I just got my mini 2. I'm 68 and as a kid always wanted an RC airplane, but never did. I had watched about 12 other videos before finding this one. I'm trying to film video through some trees and branches for a video trailer for my upcoming launch of my novel. I just want to thank you for this video - the clearest, most to the point, most practical I have found. I've been trying to figure out how to slow things down for my project, and had seen others talk about the advanced gimbal settings. But, for me, this video of yours is gold. Excellent resources, thank you. The latest DJI Fly App has new terminology for the advanced camera settings - Gain and Expo control. Do you have any recommendations on the settings for the Expo parameter please.
Great settings. SAves a ton of time. I know basics on a DSL so this speeds the learning curve.
I like that it has zebras. A very useful feature. I find I always want some zebras around the clouds

Thank you! I'm new to drones and just shot my first footage. Came out pretty low quality and I was wondering why. Totally forgot to change settings to 4k and recorded it on 1080p 24fps. Def starting off with your settings and tweak little bit as i get more comfortable.
I had thought 16:9 gave me more information, but MB correct, 4:3 uses the most of the sensor's pixels, 16:9 is cropped from th 4:3 image. Thanks, MB.
I bought my mini 2 for about 2-3 weeks ago. And i am so glad i found this video because iam not a pro on photo and stuff. But always wanted a drone. Fantastic info and great assist as always, many thanks. I also started on 25 fps and after repeated attempts at trying to fix the jitter, and one attempt buying ND filters as thought that was causing it (maybe party so), finally switched to 30 fps and issue resolved immediately. Cheers and thanks again for your awesome content…flight captain!
25fps is too low to remove jitter without an extreme wrapping FX. Keep the frame-rate and shutter high and use an ND filter in reference to ISO to control light coming in on the sensor. This grant you the ability to lower frame-rates to a smooth cinematic 24fps. You don’t have to mess with ISO if you have an adjustable ND filter in which I have no clue if you make them for drones.

The maximum recommended operating temperature from DJI is 40°C and the drone gets quite hot normally anyway. Fingers crossed for cooler weather in the next few days and some serious ‘droning’ 👍🏼😊

Why when in Auto I can press on the screen to lock exposure but not in Pro mode, you would think it would be the other way around?
Quickshots settings defaults to 1080p having them changed to 4K is a good change

Hey Matthew, I really appreciated your Mini 2 Settings video, however, since your video, DJI has made a significant change in the Mini 2 app - in particular the Gain & Expo Tuning addition. Great info (as usual) and I'm making a checklist to keep in my mini 2 bag so I can verify they are still set correct after updates happen. Good timing to do this (and tinker with my new DSLR) since I won't actually be flying until at least Sat with crazy weather we are having!

Awesome video as always. Thank you oh so much for your info. Will be trying this out when I use my drone. Only had mine about 3 weeks and not properly used yet due to some bad weather. Only chance I had was easter bank holiday weekend. Bacicly straight up in tripod mode I believe it is. Got a few photo's and a short 2 and a half minute video with it just in one spot and turning on the spot. Not moved around much. I am a total beginner and these video's are really usefull and helpful for people like me and others in the same situation. Thank you oh so very much.
On the dji mini 2 if you use that function button hold and use the dial for the camera it zooms in and out .

what about white balance, looks like you are on manual 6600K do you adjust this for every location?
Do you do anything with the Expo settings under ‘advanced’ setting? The reason I ask is it seems a better way to get smooth control when the sticks are close to the centre but still allows you to get the full speed of movement when sticks are hard over.
found these days this useful video but I have not the advanced gimball settings.....:(
love to fly, don't know s$%t about camers, but trying out your suggestions really made a difference! still ha ent filled up the 1st card and I have no idea about post editing photography, but I can tell it looks better on the low res-previews on the phone

Very informative video - thanks for that. As a total beginner with a drone I shall be experimenting with these settings. I have a question though and that is, once set are these settings sticky or do they revert (reset) when the drone is turned off?
These settings don't revert when you turn off/on the drone - but you can reset them back to defaults if needed. I would recommend going out and trying these settings and then tweaking them to your preferences. Have fun!
Do you happen to have the Mini 2 SE drone? Some of the settings on the 2 are simulator to the 2 SE I’ve noticed.
I just received my mini 2. Being my first drone I didnt want to buy the newest and most expensive thing out there. Anyhow, I tried to follow your steps and was able to do most but it seems that maybe there has been an update since the video was created? I can’t seem to do all the things you’ve done here.
Hey! Advanced gimbal settings is now under a new option called "gain & expo". Hope that helps!

Does your aircraft actually restart after resetting the camera parameters like the dialog box says? In the camera tab at the bottom there is a reset camera parameters button. When you press it a box pops up that says your aircraft will restart automatically. Mine does not restart at all. Just curios. Thanks
