i love community so much but abed specifically as a character is so important to me. as an autistic person, the way he is portrayed and the way his friends ultimately accept him for who he is and help him when he experiences things like shut-downs when his favorite show is cancelled and his friendship with troy. he truly means so much to me and the way danny pudi portrayed him is absolutely outstanding and it makes me feel so happy and understood. abed has obscure niche interests and can be obsessive to the point it actively harms him. he knows exactly how to act in every different situation but he chooses to be himself most of the time. he also isn’t just the stereotypical “genius” character, he is very good at things not typically considered important in general society and that is really comforting to see for someone like me with a niche interest in literature and the english language that is mostly rendered useless outside of an academic concept. anyways community is great and love and appreciate abed.

the stock photo colouring is so good honestly i love it so much bc it rly is a lie! the background characters are so normal i don't notice when there aren't any. they truly disappear which proves why the study group (or GD7) seriously changed the place. for the better? debatable at times but as for the show they're perfect.
I'm going through a severe art block right now, then saji posts and I feel a bit better. I notice a 3rd of the way through that saji finally put up the other part of my fan art! Seeing my drawing on my favorite creators walls is insane; seeing one of my painting is a whole other level of "okay, I can do this". as always thank you for the awesome video saji and thank you for always getting me out of a funk! Dan Harmon lead the whole crew in a "Fuck you, Chevy" chant on Chase's birthday and the audio of Chevy cursing out Dan on his voicemail was funny af
(oversharing on youtube time but) i was having a very very bad autistic breakdown-y time and this video really helped calm me down for some reason. saji just has the warmest most comforting energy and i feel like i was just cradled at the teat and nursed back to health like a little baby bird. god bless.

community is such an interesting show that showcases the basic dynamic of a friend group that consists of very diverse members, but compared to other shows that include the same trope it outshines the rest of them
i have such complex & complicated feelings ab community bc abed is truly some of the best autistic psychotic representation in all of western media- & especially American sitcoms
But pierce & Chevy chase by extension makes it hard to watch bc u can feel the uncomfy & hateful feelings behind those parts. Chevy chase isn't playing a character that critiques a certain kind of bad person. Chevy chase just IS a bad person playing himself & putting the people on set through all kinds of abuse while using the character to excuse his behavior. To me that isn't satire at all. one of my biggest criticisms of the show is HOW MUCH time it spends excusing & validating Pierce. genuinely makes it hard to rewatch or share with friends. which i want to do bc the rest of the show is so good. It wants so desperately to be always sunny but Dan Harmon & Chevy chases inability to introspect brings the whole thing down.
(except I also personally hate the Jeff & Annie arcs)

I didn't like Chevy chase at all but then no one who came onto the cast added that same "butt of the group" energy and it felt Off Balance. I agree that he was not the best choice though. Creed Bratton from the office would have been fun to see imo ? Devito of course but he kills every role.
And yesssss I love love love abed. He's hilarious in the first place, Danny Pudi is adorable and talented and funny. I just loved how they went through the Christmas episode with him, and all of his idiosyncrasies that the cast just Knew and would explain to outsiders.
The resolution on my TV is a bit odd and I never know how to perfect it, so instead of "ad time" my screen says "d time" and I gotta say, it's keeping the ad break spicy~

I first watched Community in the beginning of my depression, it helped me cope with it all and today, 3 years later, I always get this comforting feeling when I read/watch something about or rewatch Community.

I discovered the show in 2021 and have rewatched it several times since. It’s my favorite show, hell it’s my comfort show (other than Supernatural). The characters and the heart of the show is just so comforting. I love the aspect that Community isn’t like other sitcoms, it makes fun of the premise of sitcoms. Also it’s so meta especially Abed which is one of the reasons I love his character other than the fact he loves film and tv which I love also. I seriously see myself in Abed’s character

What a wholesome video! I discovered Community while going through a very hard time. It really kinda made me feel normal and I had some special times watching it with friends. I'm now a mother of three and I actually watched the show with my daughters as they grew up. It's basically our go-to show when we need a cheer-up. It's literally the best show ever and its decline was very sad to see but through all the seasons I appreciate the incredible acting and comedy style. Six Seasons and a Movie!!!!

New sub! This makes me nostalgic for a time- I moved to my first place on my own (no dorm, roommates,) It feels like the last slice of life where social media wasn’t huge (excluding MySpace, but that was different) t
It was the era of blackberry, iPhone was a baby, FB felt like it was just getting momentum, and social media wasn’t part of shows. It felt like a different time.
I know you separate it from shows like parks and rec/office, but I find myself lumping it in with those, and 30 Rock, bc looking back,they felt like this final part of my life (29/30 something) without social media right in my face.
You got me rewatching this for the 6th or 7th or 30th time. Legendary show, worth every minute. Every character has flaws and as goofy as it is, it's so cohesive and void of gimmick, theres growth and equal value to each person.

I remember watching this show with my parents for the first time growing up and loving it but obviously not understanding it to the degree I do now. Since then I've watched it with all of my roommates and my boyfriend. It's my comfort show because it will make you laugh with obscure and well thought out bits and will make you cry with heart felt moments.

one of my favorite community theories is that the entire storyline from season 5 i.e. Pierce's death is the one timeline where Pierce leaves to get the pizza in Remedial Chaos theory (troybritta and jeffannie getting their moments). I still have trouble fitting Shirley and Abed in but its a good theory

I discovered Community this most recent Christmas season, in the middle of the night, alone, visiting my parents post-university. I was a "real adult" finally, with a real salary and no more training wheels. I couldn't sleep thanks to anxiety and was bored. Netflix options had been otherwise exhausted, so I gave Community a chance. It brought me to tears.

In all honesty, I don't think the 4th season was that bad. I mean yeah, it wasn't nearly as good as the other 5 (hopefully or the movie-- i mean someday maybe) but like it holds its own in comparison to a lot of other shows. Its not genius TV, but its ok. like its passable. idk i've rewatched some of the episodes, and i didn't completely dislike them. so at the end of the day, i mean its okay. Its not the other 5, but its okay. Definitely a gas leak year, but didn't blow up the show. The gas leak got plugged-- a little late, and there was some stinky methane in the air for a bit but eventually with enough hand waving and fans, they got the stinkiness out. Plus I mean eating ice cream while holing ur breath might suck, but you're still eating ice cream ykwim?
Just felt like 4th season was the "member berries" season. Didn't bring anything forward but just realized on nostalgia
