  • What’s your story? Humans approach life from the lens of our experiences, often responding from a place of inaccurate perception or fear. Often it takes a lifetime to understand why we are the way we are.
Germaine says that just like Batman, every superhero has an origin story and it’s possible to use whatever adversity you’ve had in your life for good. TEDx is about ideas worth spreading. TEDx is a program of local events designed to bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Just like a TED event, the TEDx event is focused on bringing in live speakers to spark deep conversations and connections in a smaller group.
Leadership Development Expert This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Your pain fuels success whether you like it or not, it’s an energy for your success to be built on and it is separate to motivation, remember keep praying 🙏

Germaine, I have watched your talk more than once. I was one of the blessed 100 to be in the room when you spoke. I was in the 2nd row, with my 23 years old son by my side. He was entranced in your message. He hung on every word, and you impacted him. You share so many opportunities to support anyone that might be unsure, and you are vulnerable to share where your strength is drawn from. May God bless you for your love to help others, as you have gifted all of us that are fortunate to hear your journey and decision of how to respond to it.

Not worthy to comment on this, but your resiliency and love just made me add my energy to yours. Is it enough at this point to feel and to say Thank You.

Absolutely true, completely how to take ones story back. Won’t allow situations to sink me. We’re allowed to sink, it’s picking up again. Life is beyond a challenge. I’ll never understand why, yet, watching my kids raise above, that’s the greatest achievement. Many that have defeated, they , y’all are my strength. Just love.

Your story is truly electrifying and life giving. The level of transparency allows the listener to be able to be instantly transported into your experiences and feel your resilience rise from within. I too use the power of my pain to eloquently fuel and boost my present that then creates opportunities to thrust me generously into my future. Thank you for sharing Germaine!

Now imagine who the people are who recognize this too deeply; seeing the benefit in what other's pain can do for them and then write their own story.

"What are you willing to change? Is your pain a liability or is it your power? What exist that you are willing to not allow it to exist in your presence? Are you the author of your story or does some else to write in the book of your life? These questions will determine your capacity to lead as well as your capacity to be productive."
I am willing to change my own life. I used to think my pain is a liability, but now, I see it as the opportunity to use it as my own power. Self-doubt exists, and I will not allow that to exist in my presence. I to be my own author since I decided to build a career. I am already choosing to be a literal author anyway, so I choose to be an author of my story. I am open-minded to being corrected and be told that any of my answers are wrong. I need to learn how to cope with being autistic person and I used the pain I gained from being born this to fuel my own success. To have a better life.

“My fatherlessness drives me to be a good father; my emptiness drives me to be a good lover; my vulnerability drives me to be a warrior. What are you allowing to drive you ?” The moment he decided to be the author of his story instead of a character in it is the moment his pain began to evolve into his power. To do this he had to love himself enough to walk away from anything that required him to be and play small… thoughts?
