I brought the super ocean and a submariner the other week! Love both! The additional rubber strap with the deployment clasp is a must for the heritage! Great video! shows the beauty of the heritage!!
Hi all the way from Nicaragua. Because of your great reviews i took a leap of faith and bought my first watch, g-shock mudman. such a beautiful watch. Thank you very much. :)
Another classic! Your videos always start my day out right, TGV. Grazie, mille!
I just came across this review and it is great! I just got a Speedy Racing Reduced Schumi and it is now my favourite as well!
On my short list of future watches to buy next. Thanks for another excellent review!
Hello, I've just discovered your channel, I've now subscribed as I think your videos are very watchable and informative, and fun! Thanks
One of my favourite Breitling classic good looks! Excellent review TGV
There have been several improvements since this model was reviewed. The Superocean 2 has a ceramic bezel, the date window is now at 6 o'clock which evens up the dial and the hands have been re designed. The movement is now a Tudor modified by Breitling, making this watch even more desirable.
How much is the new one compared to Tudor?
I have the same pink Lacoste polo. I really appreciate Lacoste, because of the outstanding history of the brand, the intelligent choice of materials to create one of the most comfortable polos ever, and the look of the shirt. I once heard you say in one of your videos, "Classic style never goes out of style," I totally agree with you on that. Cheers!
2 beautiful watches! The Breitling looks fantastic. Great reviews on both. Congrats on your Speedy, it looks amazing with that pop of color… very nice pickup. I hope you enjoy it for years to come.
Apparently someone at Breitling took a look at your review and updated the Superocean and turned into Superocean II.
- Ceramic bezel
- New clasp with push buttons
- Better lume
also,
- Tudor movement instead of ETA
- New minute hand
I have that 42 mm Breitling Superocean Heritage II - it is very handsome.
The one I bought the one reviewed was great but the II was the one to get.
I just bought the II, lovely watch. Worth a look, classy, well designed, and fits well due to the lug design. Mesh bracelet is also nice but the clasp is a little difficult to undo.
Awesome review, for Breitling the SuperOcean Heritage and Transocean Day Date are my favorites in there line. Speedy Schumacher is awesome wish they still made it.
Great review, I have the speedy reduced 39 mm triple date racing model that I simply adore bought from a Swiss dealer on omega forum, keeps top time no problems with the date complications etc, after watching your detailed review I pulled the trigger on the racing model u reviewed since I am very comfortable with the size and the looks
Fabulous video. I can get a good idea about a watch by watching your reviews.
Just brought the heritage 2 black ceramic bezel! I love it, had to have the 46 as I love a larger watch, love your channel buddy keep going...
Schumacher won the Drivers World Championship in Suzuka, Japan in 2000. Overtook Mika in the pits after light rain, epic, I was there! Great review on the Schumi speedy, great watch.
I just want to thank you cos im about to start working at a jewlery that sells watches as well, and i dont have any experience but now that i found you i feel more confortable cos ive learned a lot from your reviews when it comes to different watches and the fact that english it is not my first language (i ve stolen most of your lines to sound as authentic as a Pro as you sounds.
Love that Breitling. Your Speedy with that pop of color looks great too. Cheers:)
Thank you my friend.
Best regards,
TGV
So glad one of my favorite pieces gets some TGV love! Great video, Boss
Thank you Bort, very glad to hear :D
Best regards,
TGV
Ahhh, two watches that I do admire tremendously. The speedy reduced calls to me constantly! Thank you for another outstanding video. Cheers.
You are very welcome,
Thank you sir! :D
Best regards,
TGV
I was looking for reviews on the Heritage 42 last week, now I have one.... its beautiful, but not sure I can justify one alongside my 16610. Great review, thanks!
Always have had my eye on the Breitling SuperOcean Heritage. One of the key reasons I have never picked one up is bc of aluminum bezel which you mentioned in the review. I am really hard on my dive watches so I can see this being an issue for me.
Love the Superocean heritage, especially the white dial blue bezel om mesh bracelet 👌
Love the reduced sized Speedy. I have a triple date which is also a 39mm watch. I think this size is highly versatile.
Thank you, I ADORE THE TRIPLE DATE!!!! Almost got one, enjoy it.
Best regards,
TGV
An absolutely beautiful watch, I love that bracelet, the green variant is a favourite of mine.
Thank you, OMG the green one is stunning!!!
Best regards,
TGV
Just picked up the SuperOcean Vintage 2 with the ceramic bezel and Tudor movement on a mesh bracelet. Absolutely stunning watch, very robust and now with a five year warranty.
Shawn Caton that version doesn’t exist in 38mm does it?
this and the Tudor black bay heritage are so gorgeous! Breitling is so clever to combine a dress watch and a diver into 1 beautiful watch!
Thanks for the video, TGV. I'm loving the current craze for heritage divers. Very nice offering from Breitling, but I'm still holding out for my Oris Divers Sixty-Five.
There are more things in dive watches, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your Submariner =D
The Navitimer is my grail but that SuperOcean Heritage is incredibly good looking, and of course a great video as ever TGV
Thank you Jonny :D
Best regards,
TGV
Great Video TGV, really like both Watches on offer today!! Myself I'm heading for a Breitling first then Omega further down the line... Just goes to show a 16 Year old watch made by Omega still looks vibrant and Relevant today!! Pure Class Sir.. BMJ ENGLAND.
Fantastic video, TGV.
Absolutely love the Speedy. Love the watch for what it is and love it becasue of the Schumacher connection. Of course I'm a big fan of Ferrari and esecially of Schumi.
Different story for the SuperOcean... I mean, I don't dislike it, but it's not my cup of tea either. You pretty much touched all the points that put me off. Undoubtedly one of the most elegant dive watches, but do you really want pure elegance in a dive watch?...
Well, thank you very much, very enjoyable episode!
Best regards,
Michele.
Hi Tgv, fantastic review of two amazing pieces, loooove omega, sorry ive been out of the loop for s few days, in the process of moving home so my time has been quite limited, but all done now, exciting time for the family and myself, anyway hope this finds you well, ONWARDS AND UPWARDS, your friend Ryan.
Great review as usual TGV. Nice watches. Always value your opinions. Regards from Yorkshire!
Thank you Mick :D
Best regards,
TGV
The speedy has always been my dream watch, I'm gonna get one in the future! Great video.
Go for it my friend, a worthy dream for any true gent.
Thank you,
Best regards,
TGV
Lovely watches, very unique and almost like hidden gems from two horological giants. Great review, with good video, good reflection on history and story behind it, properly narrated specifications and great attention to details and esthetics BIG LIKE my friend. Keep up great work.
On a second note, I do enjoy your videos thoroughly TGV and thank you for the videos and great information you provide. If you can manage it from you friends at the watch shop, I would love to see your take on the Transocean 38 Chronograph. Best Regards!
After watching all your videos it now seems we must have crossed paths at F1 races in the late 90s and early 00s. It's a smaller world than we think!
Hi TGV - Two beautiful watches to aspire to having in anyone's collection, IMO. Thank you for presenting them. Best Regards, John
Thank you John, always a pleasure my friend.
Best regards,
TGV
Make it 40mm, add ceramic bezel and improve the lume and I'll buy that over a submariner any day of the week.
Very good point, me too for that matter.
Thank you,
Best regards,
TGV
they have a 38mm version which imo fits nicer than the 42mm
Captain Tsubasa 10 what do you make of the new Breitling Heritage Superocean? I am keen to have a look in person when they land here in Australia.
Captain Tsubasa 10 and change the hands and take the date out
That would be a mistake. Rolex sub is the best dive watch there is.
4am at hospital with my wife in labor with my SuperOcean 44 (orange) strapped to my wrist. Once again I can attenuate my nerves. Great review TGV, nearly splurged for the black heritage 46 in lieu of my 2000m 44.
Best of luck my friend,
Thank you John,
Best regards,
TGV
Wonderful reviews TGV!
Thank you sir! :D
Best regards,
TGV
The AR coating on the sapphire is amazing. I almost thought it a blue dial because of it. That watch ranks up with the Omega seamaster, imo. Great Schumacher Omega too. Love that color track around the dial. Good show. Cheers
Very true about that blue very well observed. Some people actually don't like that but I think its cool.
Thank you Robert,
Best regards,
TGV
I'm in love with that Speedy since you got it! The Breitling is gorgeous too but unforttunately still to big for my girly wrist! I think they had a 38mm version that they stopped making.
Early morning episode! Can't wait to watch it.
Thank you Justin, feels strange posting it at this time, oh well, here goes...
Best regards,
TGV
Love the reduced and they are such great value
VERY true indeed. Thank you Andrew,
Best regards,
TGV
that watch is AMAZING!!!! LOVE IT!!! but i like the one with red second hand. i believe its chronograph 44mm
i really liked the SOH! didnt expect that lol... but im in love with the schumy, what should i do? lol cheers!!!
Speedy for the WIN … lovely timepieces Tristano and as always beautifully presented.
Thank you Dave, I learn from the best, yourself included ;-)
Best regards,
TGV
Have it and love it 😍. Probably the best substitute to submariner.
Nice review, is it worth saving extra money for the newer model (heritage II) with ceramic bazel and Tudor movement (we are talking about +1000€ difference) or just buying the first model at around 2.700€? Thanks for the help in advance.
Would love to see a review of the super ocean heritage II. Has the ceramic bezel, lume pip at 12 o'clock and a new movement with a 70 power reserve. Similar movement to the black bay
Looking forward to the video Tgv.
Kind regards from Essex :)
Thank you my friend, Essex! Nice, not to far from me when I am in the UK.
Best regards,
TGV
As always very nice video. The intro is very cool👍🏻
Thank you Tim :D
Best regards,
TGV
Its quite interesting how vastly different both of these watches are. Both are 'Sports' watches, but have a very different appeal and look to me. Im with you as well with the pop of color on the Speedy. Maybe it is because Ive seen so many 'Plain Jane' ones. Would love to see it it on a Black racing strap with red accents and stiching
Love it that you've finally managed to get hold of my Breitling watch! 😊 As you know, it also looks very good on a black crocodile strap with Long Island watches clasp...
Love everything you say, except I'll add one owner negative. It doesn't seem to be as robust as maybe I would have hoped... In 10 months it's been back to Breitling (twice) for reworking as after little knocks it got way out of time keeping. Worst was that it lost 15 seconds in 12 hours!! Anyway, all fine now, but thought I'd mention.
I still absolutely love it and wear it for formal occasions mostly, when I'm not wearing a waistcoat. If I'm wearing a waistcoat, I wear one of my pocket watches instead!
Thanks again for finally getting round to this... You are, as ever, spot on and a genius...
Thank you Captain sir!
OMG, on a croc, dont relu me these things, I will never send it back ;-)
Oh no, so sorry to hear about the issues, funny thing is I had the same problem on a previous Breitling I had before the channel, but I must add, they were very nice about it and fixed it. Love the waistcoat, one day I aspire to do that same.
Thank you again my friend, very honoured and flattered to have your viewership, support and the kind words too.
Best regards,
TGV
The Urban Gentry Agreed! Another thing I forgot to say is that I use it for diving and it is fine, even if you occasionally have to work out from the start of the bezel, the time elapsed, but for me, it's worth it for having such a good looking watch...
Hi TGV,
I would like to see the date at 6 o'clock as it is on the 46 mm Super Ocean Heritage. It would make for a much better symmetrical dial. But I think they have to swap the ETA for making it possible.
As I said before, I'm not a big fan of the Omega Speedmaster. But your Schumacher Edition looks cool because of it's red-orange highlights.
Best regards,
Claus
Schumacher was amazing driver. Hope poor man recovers. You got it right the first time : Mika Hakkinen was with McLaren. He was a fantastic driver also.
The Breity has a real classy simple look, I could see wearing it at the beach bar watching the sunset, sporting a white linen shirt with sleeves rolled up and Tommy Bahama shorts. I would have a Dark and Stormy in my hand ... that's when my Casio alarm clock goes off. That Speedy is stunning with those colours :-)
wow.....saw an older version on one of my friends....looks amazing....thx tgv for this review...=)
You are most welcome my friend, Thank you :D
Best regards,
TGV
I have a Breitling B2, bought in 2002 and modern Super Ocean 44 amongst various others. They do go with everything, especially a Jack Russell, I know this as I’m my JR’s everyday “beater” human!
I'm looking at the new Heritage B20 with black and gold bezel on black rubber strap. The mesh bracelet looks to me as if it's an after purchase addition. This is due the the visible straight lugs leaving a gap between the bracelet end and the case.
The sunburst on that Breitling looks quite beautiful!
Certainly is. Thank you :D
Best regards,
TGV
Heritage is my next watch, after that the speedy, thanks for the video
2 thumbs up,love my breitlings
Keep up the great work!!
Thank you Rick :D
Best regards,
TGV
Hey TGV, I would love to see you do a review of the Brietling Transocean day date
Good reviews as usual.
That Breitling is a stunner. Normally I'm not a fan, just because they are known for those busy aviation dials, which serve a purpose, but are not to my taste. I think this is the first time I've ever actually wanted a Breitling.
A Speedy is my daily wear, and I love it. Being a bigger guy, the size of the reduced wasn't really a concern. However, being a huge fan of Schumy, that is a watch I would love to have. I should look around and see if there are any cool commemorative pieces for my other heroes. I just glanced up at my Senna Newman Porsche model of the car he raced at Le Mans.
That Breitling is one of my Grail watches. Absolute stunner!
I tell people all the time....its the most beautiful watch I have ever seen.
Perfect time for my break!
Hooray! :D
Thank you SN.
Best regards,
TGV
To be perfectly honest I hadn't ever seriously considered Breitling prior to viewing this video. For the most part they are too big and busy. However that SuperOcean Heritage is just gorgeous--a master work.
Exactly! It's the only Breitling I've seen that I find attractive rather than repulsive!
Just received last week the new Superocean Heritage ll 46. Amazing! They now come with a beautiful ceramic bezel, and the inner steel border ring has been removed, making it even more reminiscent of the original design. Additionally, you will be pleased to know that the date has been moved to the six o'clock position on the 42 model, improving the styling symmetry of the face, as it is on my 46. A minus, (maybe?) is the movement is now an in house design/manufacture, called the B20.
Hey Jeffrey - how does it wear on your wrist size? My wrist is 7" and I'm concerned that the 46mm might be too big.
Hi Alan, I don't think it would be a problem on your wrist. My wrist is 7 1/2" and no problem at all.
Thanks man.
Hi TGV
Super tests😊
One of the prettiest Breitlings I've seen. I'm kind of conservative when it comes to watch designs, and normally see Breitlings as a touch too much "bling-bling". Well; personal taste...
I had to reconsider yesterday, though, when I tried a Navitimer just like yours on the arm. Suddenly I understood the facination of such an iconic - and indeed expensive - watch.
However; this understated Breitling diver is at the end of the day more to my taste. Seems wonderfull.
The Speedmaster is great. A bit different from the usual Speedmaster Reduced (-like my own), but without going too far away from the classic Speedmaster design. A very handsome watch in a great size. And suitable for "semi-formal" occations too; not least if you put a nice leather strap on it...
Thank you😊
Fantastic reviews!
I have the 46mm Super Ocean Heritage Chrono. (I have wrists like Federico) I love it, but you can tell when you've had it on all day. It also seems to hit every door frame I pass through. Love the Speedmaster as well. Can't have them all though ;-)
Hi TGV! Love youe channel.
I have been saving up to buy a Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra for about a year now. But when I went out this weekend to have a look at it in person, it didn't give me that "Luxary" feeling that I was looking for. It felt a bit light and "cheap" with the slack in the braclet. I haven't held that many luxary pices by date, but remembered trying on a Breitling from a friend and it felt more heavy and solid and gave me a real "Luxary" feeling eventhough he paid about $3500,-. So my question to you is can you recommend some alternative classic all around luxary pices (2000-5000$) that will give me a premium feeling as soon as I pick it up, or is it a impossible task at this pricerange? I'm not a big fan of busy dials and would prefer a braclet over a leatherstrap.
Best regards
Benjamin
Norway
The speedmaster has so many jewels because it's a base movement plus a chronograph module, so basically have a complete watch movement with 20 plus jewels in the ETA 2892.A2 with an added Dubois Depraz module 3220 with also 20 plus jewels, and perhaps a few for the wheels and pinions connecting both.
The red Brietling Bently shown at the second picture is stunning! Any video on it?
Gosh dang it! Now I want that SuperOcean!
I have a Speedy Reduced. Do you have any recommendations on what to use to polish the plexiglass?
Thank you! Big fan!
Maybe a video of this vs your Oris diver
That Breitling is very good looking. I was thinking about the black omega ceramic reduced but this is starting to give me second thoughts...and I can still pull off the 42mm on this...hmm...
Sweet watch and great review. I don't understand the bezel without numerals. How would you time anything? Am I missing something there?
Beautiful breitling and love that speedy, prayers with schuie
Absolutely, my thoughts as always are with him.
Thank you Raymond,
Best regards,
TGV
Great buy on the Schumacher reduced..funnily enough I was looking at these models not long before you got one. I just get the feeling you may have pushed up the price and demand now!
I'm deadlocked on which superocean heritage I should get, blue bezel, white dial, mesh strap, or black bezel, white dial, black croco strap? I would love your opinion and it would help so much!
Cool vid. Tgv the transocean line is much more classic than the SOH be sure to check it out
i really like that speedy but it got 2 problems its clasp and the water resistance but i would still consider one!
amazing watch. amazing video. ty again sir!
Another great vid. Super Ocean looks amazing. Would look great on a NATO.
YESSSSSSS, I was scared to take the bracelet off as I had to keep it pristine but spot on.
Thank you Mark,
Best regards,
TGV
The Omega Schumacher Edition is an absolute beauty.
Thank you sir! :D
Best regards,
TGV
very nice breitling, but i thinkn that the lack of lume on the second hand and the 12 o clock defeats the tool purpose for a diver watch acording to the ISO diver requierements. i liked what you said though its a great brand
cheers
I was looking for reviews on the Heritage 42 last week, now I have one.... its beautiful, but not sure I can justify alongside my 16610.
hi there, great channel :) I would like to ask a question, I am still a beginner and want to start a mini watch collection. As I am currently looking to buy my first proper watch I was looking into the tissot prc200 auto, or a hamilton lord auto chrono, or even a tissot t touch solar (which is different from the others). Basically I dont want an everyday or dress watch for now, they will come later, but I want a nice watch I can wear to go out and can also use on special occasion until I get my dress watch. Any ideas pls, even from other brands? Thanks and keep it up
nice i like this man keep it up
Thank you, too kind :D
Best regards,
TGV
hi TGV what is the advantages and disadvantages for a ceramic bezel ...........cost, scratch resistance, etc thanks.
stay healthy looking forward to your upcoming content .
Thank you sir. I actually discussed this in a previous video, but you basically hit the nail on the head there. They also do not fade in colour from prolonged exposure to sun like the older aluminium inserts.
Best regards,
TGV
The current one comes with Breitling B20 movement base on Tudor MT5612. It is better protection against shock.
Just passed on purchasing the yellow dial version of the Michael Schumacher Omega Speedster. Tourneau has one for $3,000 10% off offered for $2,700. Had to pass, still considering the Omega 300 co-axile or Breitling SuperOcean Heritage 42.
Hi TGV, did you buy your Schume from ebay? I think I saw your review of the seller, I plan to get a speedy reduced. What can you say about the seller. Highly reliable? Thanks
Great one Tristano, still love that Omega. I'm in a big dilema. I am on ebay and I can't decide between a $46 swiss hysa mechanical and a $50 mechanical seiko. The hysa looks like it has alot more wear. Can you make a suggestion?
go all out /spend $100 and buy both
would you take a watch like that too the beach?? I mean I don't own any high end watches like that but I do have my favourites and instead of wearing them to the beach I wear my quarts beater or my vostok amphibia.
what do you think about Festina watches?
The bracelet IS outstanding. I put it on my Navitimer.
Thank you Tim, nice combo!!! Enjoy.
Best regards,
TGV
