The best watch/ horological channel on RUclips. What I have always truly appreciated is not just the honest in-depth reviews but the history behind the watch. So interesting. I’ve been watching since way back in the beginning and have always really enjoyed the videos. I used to really enjoy the comparisons.
Wow, thank you so much Steve, your comment just made my evening. I will not forget it. Duly noted on the comparisons, onwards and upwards! Best regards, TGV
I think that when I stare silently at my beautifuls Zenith El Primeros. The only (beat up) Rolex I own is my dad's watch, I had to keep it when he passed away
TGV - what I really appreciate about your channel is the span of coverage you give us. From G-shocks all the way to Seikos and the luxury horological queens and kings. Simply fantastic.
Your intro is exactly why I always watch your shows, sometimes they are on auto play while I’m at work. There’s watch reviews that just put on a watch and say click my link, but don’t actually know what it’s like to own one
I am honored thank you, you know EXACTLY what I mean. I've even seen "reviews" of watches using only images from a website, SMH. Thank you Ryan, Best regards, TGV
Thank you TGV for such a great watch review! I really love the Navitimer! I really love it’s aviation style and I love how chronographs look and work! Absolutely fascinating! TGV, stay healthy and well as always! Nicholas
The Breitling Navitimer was the first luxury brand I ever fell in love with (long ago). However when I had the money to buy one I was always disappointed by the movement and finishing. I felt the brand has let itself go a bit. That has changed the last two years and seeing how they evolved it’s definitely on my wish list again. For the Omega Speedmaster however… I fell in love with it some five years ago and couldn’t let it go. I did have my reserve towards handwinding and basic water resistant but holding it in my hand and the importance for space history, I’m sorry but I fell for the dream. Can’t help it. It’s a top favourite of mine and I was lucky to get one with caliber 861 from the nineties. I think the design is absolutely perfect and will last for ages to come. My heart simple skips a beat every time I see it. Great video, as always! 👍
I'm just gonna say it... I would love to watch the full version of your intro! Heck I'd watch an hour of that awesomeness! Also... great video as always! 😁
Impeccable timing. I just purchased a vintage Chronospace earlier today after being inspired by one of your earlier videos. Now I’m even more hyped for it to arrive!
I had no idea that you had co-designed a watch with Hanhart, that's incredible. Congratulations on that. I'm sure many would love to hear about how that process came to fruition, and what it was like. Perhaps a video on that in the future? Excellent content, as always.
Thanks for covering the new Navitimers, enjoyed your video as always. I was scratching my head about the poor coverage of this 2022 Navitimer update, no major watch journal talk about it, not a single one! I didn't learn about it until the release of the new LE Cosmonaute in May...
I remember being in an airport somewhere in the Middle East a few years ago and spotted the Navi 38s on display. They looked absolutely GORGEOUS, but when I look at pics online, they look lackluster. Interesting how watches can look very different in real life
Just got to take a moment to thank you for all the research that you put in and also the way you deliver it. So much effort goes into all the pictures and cut scenes and it is much appreciated. I had no idea that the breitling went into space before the omega!
I can feel your enthusiasm for the Navi. I love , love this watch. So much history and beautifully detailed dial. I’m glad Breitling’s improvements still preserved everything that’s made the Navi a classic.
Walked into my local Breitling boutique today to view the new Navi. Placed a deposit on a 46mm model with the sky blue face w/ white subdials. Before I left the mall, however, was already having second thoughts. Just too expensive when I know I can pick up a gently used Navi for thousands less. Thanks for your honest, unbiased review as always!
After years of hard work I've finally got me a Navi 2022 blue and white 46mm! Dear Gentry I must say you've brainwashed me into it and couldn't be happier!
I just tried on the 41 and 43 yesterday at my local AD. That mint green is spectacular! If the price hadn’t gone up so much, it’d be an easy pick for me.
honestly, for me it's a great move. the only con is like you mentionned, the colors not available across the sizes. i love the mint green personally. if i had money i'd buy it in a heartbeat. my wrist is in a place sizewise thatallows me to go from 40 to 46 without issues. i'm blessed for that. 😁
Brilliant roundup as usual, TGV. I have ordered the 43 in black on bracelet and I can't wait! The B01 actuation is one of the very best in the business. Fingers crossed they reissue the Cosmonaut in 2024 🤞🏻
Great history and excellently presented, thanks. The new Navitimer is one of the worlds greatest watches, full stop. The dials are beyond stunning. The 43mm is perfect for my smallish risk and has the best colour range IMHO. Interestingly, on the green which I bought, the 41mm has the lightest, the 43mm is much darker, and the 46mm is darker still. Linking of colour to size - interesting. BTW its the Sinn 903, not the 904. Its a wonderfully more toolish watch but not in the same league for finishing as the Breitling. In answer to your question, I think that a second crown would take away from the style, and keeping the rotating sapphire is also great for protection and essential for the look. So unfortunately I think we are stuck with 30m for some time. Lastly, as well as being such an amazingly thin chronograph movement, it has 49 jewels !!! hopefully that means it will last longer between maintenance. In terms of price, I agree that generally swiss watches have shot up in the last 10 years, but weirdly, I think its good value compared with its peers. With stainless steel three handers this well finished, like the Chopard Alpine or the Patek Aquanaut, they are all over £10,000, compared to the Breitling 43mm with bracelet at £7,300. And the basic speedmaster with sapphire manual wind is £7,400. However good the speedmaster is, I dont think you can compare the construction and finishing to the new Navitimer. So avoiding the word "good" value for any swiss watches, there is, one could say, positive relative value with this one Luke - LOL
Nice Vid & a true stunner that navitimer TGV, I love my chronographs. Got Hanhart Bronze, Speedy, Navitimer, Longines.... just ordered a beautiful Tutima/Hanhart 1941 Flieger Chronograph vintage made around the year 2000 woth the red button. similar to your nice red lion I will post you pics when i get it. good job!!!
Hi, TGV. Thanks for the great video. I like how you reviewed the Breitling and stating your likes and dislikes without slandering it. Most of all how you rationalized your preferences against because of your "speedy killer collection. Very gentlemanly. 👍
Another great video! I like how in most videos you take the time to review the history of the brand or model. I personally like to buy a watch brand or model with history. Makes collecting more fun in my opinion. The Breitling Navitimer looks great! My turn off with chronographs have always been how gentle you have to be with them especially the speedy. Too many examples online of the speedy getting wet and malfunctioning or a pusher coming off. Don’t get me wrong I love the speedy and hope to own one someday but I would like to see Omega increase the water resistance and durability.
The navitimer was my grail. I didn't know what it was when I first saw one as a kid but the complicated dial just captivated me. Picked up a 2021 41 Blue/White (with the 7750) and it has not dissapointed. I will never sell this watch. I must say while the B01 is impressive it's quite a price jump that I just can't quite swallow. Or maybe i'm just too happy with what i'm lucky enough to already have!
7:09 is when I realised you are the Murray Walker of the watch world!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No wonder they gave you the class piece of merch at 6:47!!!! Well done: LEGEND!
Fantastic video TGV. As you may, or may not, recall I am a huge fan of Breitling.....mostly thanks to your videos. I currently own 7 Breitlings, including a 1st generation Emergency, a Transocean, a Galactic, and my very very favorite watch in my entire collection, a Navitimer Twin Sixty.....a one year only version. And also thanks to you my next Breitling is going to be a Navitimer Cosmonaute. I just have to own one of those. Love that new blue Navitimer, though any of them would make great additions to my collection. You never know, right? Thank you for this video. Onwards....Upwards......
While I'm still not so sure that TGV is not an alien.....I will agree that one simply cannot pass judgement on a watch, until they've had it in hand and on wrist for a period of time. How long of a period of time, is subjective, and a matter of debate. I love Breitling, and they are one of my favorite brands. Both pre, and post Georges Kerns management. My favorite model in the Breitling catalogue being the "Chronomat B01," in 42mm. I love that Georges has brought back the rouleaux bracelet (aka the bullet bracelet). One of my all-time favorite bracelet designs. I'm a big fan of the "Navitimer" as well. Well done TGV. Very enjoyable to watch, as always
Great to see, 'Flighty' on the wrist, as for Navitimers, I have a soft spot, (do not own one), but I still have a soft spot for them, keep up the great work TGV and Happy Easter for next weekend.
Great review TGV, the watches look amazing. I'd still have to say your breitling still catches the eye. The robo cop color dial is the best of the bunch 😊⌚👍🇮🇹🇨🇦
Great and passionate presentation, thanks ! Breitling made a big step ahead this year indeed. The blue and the mint green with leather as well as metal strap are stunning. And if dual color with Gold, yes please traditional yellow.
TGV old chap, another wonderful presentation. I prefer the Cosmonaught over the new releases. Also, thanks to you I have finally acquired a Flighty of my own. And like you I am thrilled. It's an amazing time piece and fits perfectly in my collection. Thanks again old chap. Onwards and upwards.
I’m selling some watches to go towards a Navitimer purchase. I’m really digging your Cosmo. Great video. I agree with your disappointment re: water resistance. We can put a man on the moon, we can put a man on the moon with a Navitimer, but we can’t get more than 30m of water resistance?! 😂
Fantastic as always TGV big fan 👍😎.. I have always loved all breitlings and lusted over many over the years but for some reason never pulled the trigger, I did come very close in 2020 though with a stunning black dial and black leather strap, breitling superocean chronograph 🤩 but sadly covid stopped that purchase..🤨 maybe one day... as always look forward to the next one 👍👍
Like the vintage Fortis cal. 5100. Like the Breitling Cosmonaut (without date) But the esthetic of the Speedmaster is on a different level! I am not even speaking about heritage, history, marketing or quality. IMHO the Omega Speedmaster with its clean dial, unique asymmetrical case design and twisted lugs is one of the best looking watches ever made! Thanks for the video!
I agree with your synopsis on the Navi. And it may be a goal to get one.Agree. the 30 m is a bit disappointing. Maybe the flighty first? What I did purchase a few days back was the Dan Henry 1937. This purchase, of course, is with your great segment on the particular timepiece. Once again, as always, great job!
TGV, I can’t express how EXACTLY you captured my feelings regarding the latest “hot topics” in the watch-world. The hype over the MoonSwatch, the Rolex “prediction” videos, the hands off “reviews of new releases….they all seem unending and yet full of unnecessary, copy cat drivel. You, as always, bring the refreshing juxtaposition of high quality, unsponsored, productions to a watch world filled with people all talking about the same thing at the same time. Thank you, as always. As for the Breitlings, the blue is truly stunning, but the black seems more of a classic. The both seem really refined and polished compared to previous examples. As a pilot, I have always always wanted a Navitimer, but I have yet to pull the trigger. Something always stops me from getting one. While I love the history and aeronautical association, there are too many drawbacks there to justify the price. I, for many years thought that I would be picking up the Sinn to fill my Navitimer itch. To be honest, as previously mentioned in other comments, my Flighty and Dan Henry 1963 Blue Steel still satisfy me. I probably will end up with the Sinn, but while I love the design and history of Breitling, I doubt I’ll own one. TGV, thank you so much for the excellent video. My son and I truly enjoyed every second. Hope you and yours are well! Onward and upward, my friend!
I recently bought the last generation of the Navitimer B01 43. I love it. These new ones feel a little flat to me. I know the slide ruler is no longer sloped and the tach is now missing. I think what really makes the Navi for me is its complexity, so streamlining it is counterproductive. How did these wind? All the watches with the B01 I tried were very, very stiff when manual winding. I wonder if they fixed that with this generation.
TGV - any insight into what Dan Henry might be cooking up next? I have a feeling it might be a slide rule chronograph…I’ve seen him expressing admiration for old Chronomats in some Instagram comments recently…something along those lines would be absolutely killer!
Great question/idea, I honestly have no idea. I think if he would do something Navi-esque that would be amazing and I would be first to buy it. Genius idea and thank you for sharing that. Best regards, TGV
Hi! Judging by Dan's answers in his latest instagram posts, his next release is: 1) a three hander (no chronograph) 2) either a 50s pilots watch or a diver
I went into a Breitling store and purchased a Breitling Aviator 8, P40 Warhawk. I wasn't even considering a Breitling, but the quality and perfection of the watch really spoke to me. I do believe Breitling is gaining some ground, perhaps a Navi is in my future.
Fantastic as always - now I need to see the Sinn. A glossary would be fantastic- as an expat in Australia- I would steal it and give it to my colleagues so they can understand me better.
Greetings from Santa Barbara, CA. Congratulations on your new navitimer brother. Just gorgeous. My grail watch is a 46mm (the only watch I think is more gorgeous in 46mm) navitimer blue face.
I like them! Beautiful watches. Love that song at the beginning around 2 minutes, the documentary for ww2 uses it for the Germans marching in! Great video man!
Loved this T. Yeah I like the Navi, it’s history and it’s look definitely! As a tool watch to have the same WR as an F91W is not great! There must be a way of making the slide rule seperate to the case so the movement wouldn’t be exposed????? The 41 mm in blue would be the one for me! If they made one!!!!;)
Whew! The blue one belongs on my wrist. I believe you stated it was one of the larger offerings. I would want the larger watch. The many numbers for calculations which I will never understand should be big and bold to go along with big and bold lack of understanding. It just looks cool! My hats off to the many, especially in the past who built great things with the standard slide rule or flew many miles with the help of that wrist worn manual computer. I will never own this watch. Older age now and throwing money at watches during a younger age has set me for a quiet retirement on not much money, but I will make it and be grateful for God's many blessings. My just serviced 1966 Top Time will have to do, hopefully for the remainder of my bottom's time here on terra firma. Thanks for the review, TGV. Ciao.
TGV, please do a lexicon video as you mentioned. That would be very enjoyable to see. Hoping you are well, with much love and respect. Onwards and upwards always. Cheers!👍♥️
Breitling’s relatively soft secondary prices make this piece an excellent bargain slightly used. For example I’ve just tried on a lovely 43mm reverse panda from 2016 at a healthy 35% discount. It’s a great piece and has the full ‘authentic’ Breitling DNA branding - Gold B logo with wings, Anchor on the second hand, full logo on the reverse side and a cheeky F/C temp conversion on the case back. The new 2022 ones are really nice too, it’s just a little pill to swallow the redirection in branding; maybe I prefer the old school livery and the large discount might push me in that direction. Still, no wrong choice here - cracking watches with a fine historical back story. Every watch lovers collection isn’t complete without some flavour of Navi in the rotation. Go Breitling!
This new range of Navitimers really appeals. Great video, as ever. Personally, so glad they brought back the wings logo, the flying B just wasn't the same.
There is a flying wing logo on these watches, yes, but …. just pay attention to the fact that this (the flying wing) is the AOPA logo and not the Breitling logo on these 70th anniversary models in 2022! Let‘s see what will come after these anniversary editions, maybe again the flying ‚B‘ instead of the wings? By the way, the 70th anniversary is in the right year, 2022. Breitling offered the watch in 1952 to AOPA members with their logo on it. Therefore the 2022 anniversary version shows the AOPA logo as well.
Also, 21:53 I think is a great idea: a quick Urban Gentry Slang video. It doesn't have to be longer than 3-5 minutes (GIAJ installment), so we can "bring back" some of these terms in our every day lexicon (dodgy, ghastly, jammy, rabbiting on, bailiwick). It would be fun to have Hugo Mountbatten host it.-or even have him do one or two terms before the intro music. Just riffing out an idea. Thanks for reading!
I've got an 8 inch wrist so a 40mm + watch doesn't bother me that much, as always I appreciate your incite and opinions of watches, I may not have any of the luxury brands but I enjoy what I have.
Best regards,
TGV
@Will Harris me too
The Navi and speedy are both incredible chronographs. Blows my mind that the Daytona is considered so much more desirable than them both.
Many people buy the brand, not the watch. Why else would thousands of people queue up for a plastic Speedmaster?
O.K. if You're talking pre-2002 wrist watches...
Just don’t, I don’t want people lining up and buy these, not until I get my hands on it sometime next year 😂
I think that when I stare silently at my beautifuls Zenith El Primeros.
The only (beat up) Rolex I own is my dad's watch, I had to keep it when he passed away
Speedy and Navitemer look amazing on a strap. The Daytona without the bracelet looks horrendous.
I actually said “WOW!” out loud when you unboxed the blue one. And I don’t even like blue dials normally! Fantastic.
Yeah that blue is something special 😮
Everything Breitling makes under 44mm must be celebrated. My favorite is the mint green 41mm with the bracelet, a beaut.
👏👏👏👏 hear hear!!!
Thank you, the mint green is the most unexpected Navi color yet.
Best regards,
TGV
Indeed! A 41mm panda with the Wings logo and I'll throw them all my paychecks!
@@dustindodge5974 If you don't mind buying used watches, check out the Navitimer Fighters edition.
@@frankpentangeli7945 the only ones I love are the older ones. The Fighter edition is great, but me personally I prefer the 3-6-9 subdial symmetry.
@@dustindodge5974 Very cool, that is Herbie Hancocks fave style too
TGV - what I really appreciate about your channel is the span of coverage you give us. From G-shocks all the way to Seikos and the luxury horological queens and kings. Simply fantastic.

Me too….
SBDB013 - 600m - Spring Drive. Oh boy….
Here to support my brother TGV! Thank you again for the history lesson. Man these new releases look great 👍🏼 (that blue dial 🔥)
Another opener that was knocked out of the park with the video editing! Thanks for the great episode.
A good and thorough review as usual. I very much enjoyed it. And yes, a glossary of Urban Gentry interjections would be really interesting.
@Abe Froman are Abe Froman "thee" sausage king!?!

TGV
Great and passionate presentation, thanks ! Breitling made a big step ahead this year indeed. The blue and the mint green with leather as well as metal strap are stunning. And if dual color with Gold, yes please traditional yellow.
That blue is stunning I now have a grail.prob will never get it but I can always dream such a stunning watch👍🥰
People can say what they wish, I LOVE them. That blue one is INSANE!!
Ooooh, ohhhhh, whow, OMG 😂 There is no denying - you are a big Navitimer fan!
I really like the blue with black sub dials. Pure class 👌
Like the vintage Fortis cal. 5100.
Like the Breitling Cosmonaut (without date)
But the esthetic of the Speedmaster is on a different level!
The A23322 in blue I believe it was, that you had about 5 years ago, was the best looking Navi to my eye.
Best regards,
TGV
Hi! Judging by Dan's answers in his latest instagram posts, his next release is:
1) a three hander (no chronograph)
2) either a 50s pilots watch or a diver
the 41 with the blue dial is stunning!
I went into a Breitling store and purchased a Breitling Aviator 8, P40 Warhawk. I wasn't even considering a Breitling, but the quality and perfection of the watch really spoke to me. I do believe Breitling is gaining some ground, perhaps a Navi is in my future.
I took apart my Navitimer AOPA Cosmanaute in 1967 when I was 11. It's my Dream to own one again!
That blue looks fantastic.
That new blueish green one is a stunner
Incredible. I have the original 806 Navitimer in my collection. The only thing missing for me on the new ones is a more detailed slide rule bezel
Fantastic as always - now I need to see the Sinn.
A glossary would be fantastic- as an expat in Australia- I would steal it and give it to my colleagues so they can understand me better.
Another top shelf video! Thank you Tristano :)
Thank you 🙏🙏🙏
Best regards,
TGV
Greetings from Santa Barbara, CA. Congratulations on your new navitimer brother. Just gorgeous. My grail watch is a 46mm (the only watch I think is more gorgeous in 46mm) navitimer blue face.
Stunning dials! Love it.
As always...really enjoy your content
I totally agree with you on those watch reviewers who have never experienced the watch yet they try to pass themselves off as some sort of expert.
That blue looks gorgeous, it just pops!
I like them! Beautiful watches. Love that song at the beginning around 2 minutes, the documentary for ww2 uses it for the Germans marching in! Great video man!
Great video. Very good review of an absolutely belting watch.
I agree about the colour combo and sizes. I love the mint green but wish it was available in 43mm!
The Breitling Navitimer in blue is really striking. I love the beautiful shad of blue of the dial.
The mint green one looks awesome
Love the blue dial.
A new TGV video always makes the day better. I was hoping you’d cover the new breitlings cause to be blew Rolex and Tudor out of the water
glad to see a full sized option and is a classic
Ciao.
Always loved the Cosmonaute, these models are also pretty nice... Great video as always.
I love my Navtimer! Actualy chose it over the Rolex, Omega and some others! Its just that pretty!
TGV, please do a lexicon video as you mentioned. That would be very enjoyable to see. Hoping you are well, with much love and respect. Onwards and upwards always. Cheers!👍♥️
“So excited I forgot the drum roll” yeah me too 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thank you,
Best regards,
TGV
100% agree on the huge negative of only having certain colours in certain sizes... Do we think they could release more combinations soon?
Good video! I can totally relate on how some non hype watches killed of your desire for the Speedy. 😅
The blue one is spectacular.
18:34 greetings from San Juan, Puerto Rico!!🇵🇷
P.S. Love the drum roll…. 🥁
I love the new Navitimer. I feel it modernized the watch while maintaining the heritage. The new release put that model back on my radar.
