Got the Navitimer in 43. Special edition for Singapore Airlines Pilot. One of 70 pieces. Blue dial and rose gold markers and rose gold needle hands. Beautiful piece. Im a Pilot and it speaks Aviation. Beautiful watch :)
People criticizing the Navi for 30 meters of water resistance forget that this is because of the rotating slide rule bezel … no way to increase water resistance without abandoning that feature which will never happen. So, you accept it. Want a Breitling with more water resistance? Try a Chronomat or any of their watches designed for “water” (screw-down crowns help!). Speedy & Daytona are great watches but one uses ancient technology and lacks a date feature (and is a pure manual wind, if you’re OK with that), which the other is priced in the stratosphere if you can even get one and also hasn’t been updated in decades. The Navi now uses the bullet-proof in-house movement (even the prior movements were solid), a cleaner dial, and provides buyers with more size, color, and strap/bracelet options at a good price point. And having a horological history to at least 1952 as THE aviation standard makes is rather relevant historically to say the least. While all three are nice, only one has history, a modern mechanism, a good price point, a number of options, and is obtainable (with outstanding fit & finish, too!!!) - the Navi.
I mean even if there is an explanation for the 30m WR it is still only 30m. It is something to consider when buying a chronograph. I have never been much of a stickler for date windows but i guess many people find it necessary and Breitling did a great job integrating it. Yes the Daytona is expensive but it has the best movement. I am not a huge Rolex fan but what you have to give them is that their movements are excellent. They are so over engeneered and have been tweaked over the decades. I agree that offering different sizes and colors is an amazing aspect of most new Breitling models. A MASSIVE tick for the Nav is that you can buy one....my local rolex dealer said dont bother and we are not even putting anyone on list now...to buy a new daytona from a dealer is 20 to 25k....you can get the Nav for 6k
I have an older model Navitimer, but I love the new ones much more. Getting rid of the tachy scale greatly uncluttered the dial AND allowed for larger sub dials. If Breitling eventually figures out how to increase its water resistance to 50 meters, it will be a very desirable chronograph.
Absolutely and it's the only Breitling I'll ever own. I get more complements on it than my stainless Daytona from non-watch people, it's a striking piece and I really like the sunburst copper dial.
The Breitling Navitimer has one of the most regarded Chronographs movements in the market today known for its high precision and quality, the B01. In addition, Breitling's variety of watches and designs including the Choronomat, SuperOcean, Premier, etc makes it one the best watch brands in the world.
The B01 is a well regarded movement. The same can be said for the other two. Rolex, Omega and Breitling have long been something of a mainstream luxury holy trinity. But it the last decade Breitling seriously fell back. They are getting much better in recent years and i am looking forward to seeing what will come
I think Breitling will be doing great things with their new direction. I just purchased the Chronomat over New Years, great new look on a revised line. I also love the new Navi timer.
I own all 3. The reverse panda Navitimer 01, the white dial Daytona and the sapphire moon watch. I enjoy them all but my Navitimer gets worn the most. It just takes me back in time to the old days and can be recognized from a mile away!. All worth getting!.
I recently purchased a Breitling B01 Avenger Chronograph. I had hoped for a while that Breitling would put the B01 movement in the Avenger case. I believe the B01 is the best of the 3 movements shown here. As a Diver I am also drawn to the greater water resistance of the Avenger case. For me this is the best mechanical chronograph diving watch currently available, since I already have a Sinn EZM6s (U1000S).
The Black Bay Chrono was my 2nd choice but was too small and I did not like the pushers. And I like the 300M case and look of the Breitling.@@radidoc4832
As far as looks go, the Navitimer is the best looking, followed closely by the Daytona. The Speedmaster is actually very simple and plain looking compared to the other two, although still a formidable contender. With everything taken into consideration, especially price, I'd take the Breitling.

Daytona, like most Rolexes, is almost unobtainable new … and actual price is far above list. Speedmaster is a gem with history but seems to lack modern amenities and improvements. That leaves Navitimer available in multiple sizes, different straps, different colors, and a sleeker look with the best movement. If you want to show-off a Rolex, go ahead, but I’ll take this new Navi in a 43mm on a bracelet with a silver face and black subdials.
i recently bought the 43mm navitimer (newest generation) with the copper-colored dial and black subdials. it's absolutely incredible, i'm in love with it.
I would say Breitling Premier collection is one of the best. It comes with hand winding or automatic winding, date or no date, and uncluttered, beautiful pistachio or salmon dial.

Just tried on the Navitimer today and wow I would advise everyone to try on their bracelet. It’s the most comfortable stainless bracelet ever made. The ad SA said they are not allowed to do adjustments on the bracelet and only the watchmaker is allowed to do it due to its complexity
Good choice made. I actually had this green Breitling on my arm in the boutique this year. It makes an excellent impression, or rather it simply looks amazing on the arm thanks to its green dial. The Daytona would also be an option for me, but we know the availability. The Omega Speedmaster is of course a rock solid watch, but to me it has a somewhat boring dial design. I prefer the "Grey Side of the Moon" instead, just looks more spectacular. What do you think of the "Grey Side of the Moon"?
That mint green dial is quite special, i wonder if it is difficult to pair with different outfits. I like the look of the non professional co-axial Speedmasters, especially because of the two subdials and the date at 6. But I’m not a huge fan of ceramic cases and the larger diameter.
I got the Navi in dark green with wings logo and in rose gold. It looks and feels amazing. Personally I don't like Rolex as a brand and I find the Navi a far more exciting and eye-catching watch than the Omega. The gold case effectively doubles the price but it vastly lifts the watch and looks spectacular.
All three of these are amazing watches in their own right. All beautiful but all different. Here’s how I would categorize them as I’m a watch collector and enthusiast. 1. Rolex Daytona- Unmatched Beauty, eye catching, Nearly perfect, and iconic. This equates to me like a true beauty Cindy Crawford or the like. Almost unobtainable. 2. The Speedmaster- Tried and true, technically and engineering wise a 10. An every day wearable watch that many people will compliment you on. Beautiful yet complex with layers. I would equate the speedmaster to a Mila Kunis type! My favorite actress. 3. The Navitimer- this watch to me has it all. It’s gorgeous, extremely functional, precise, a wonderful tool if you need to or know how to use it (I don’t I’m too dumb). Complex looking but also large and really flashy. I think this is the lesser of the known watches of the 3 to the general public. It’s really great quality and personally I think it’s priced right. It should be more than speedmaster and less than the Daytona. I would equate this watch to Kate Beckinsale! Either way you slice it with any of these watches or women I think you are good to go!! You cannot go wrong.
I think most would agree navitimer is the best of chronographs, especially with the B01. The speedy would come in second as it’s the best value out of the 3. As usual, the Rolex is mediocre but the most prestigious out of the 3.
I don’t know too much about the B01 but i wouldn’t agree. Rolex gets a lot of hate but one has to admit that their movements are extremely well built. I would put the Daytona caliber at the top, certainly above the 3861 from Omega. The Omega caliber is quite old fashioned with the lateral clutch, which i find more beautiful but the vertical clutch is superior. Also the cam actuation does feel quite nice for what it is but a column wheel actuation just feels better and the Daytona has the best tactile feeling. So for me when ranking movements, Daytona, Navitimer then Speedmaster.
Pretty shallow commentary. Navitimer cosmonaute was actually the first watch in Space, so it’s associated with space as well not just Aviation. And why would Breitling place themselves between Tudor & Omega when its clearly a better built watch and higher quality than those 2? I have both the Navitimer b01 from 2019 and the new Speedmaster. The difference in Quality is like day and night.
Well when you think about watches and space Omega clearly comes to mind as it’s the first watch on the Moon and Omega works very hard so that noone forgets. When you look at their prices they situate themselves between Omega and Tudor, that Breitling is better than Omega, that is your opinion. I don’t agree
I agree. I have a sapphire Soeedmaster moon watch and a Navitimer 01. The Navitimer is definitely next level quality compared to the Speedy. Speedy feels generic in comparison to be honest.
I obtained a new Navitimer 46 some 15 months ago. Because I have owned a Breitling before and never had any problems with it. What do I think of the latest one??? well it's RUBBISH. Looks great but the thing has been more trouble than it's worth. First off it never told the correct time was always some 10 Min: fast everyday. Then after around 6 months the winder stopped working. Would go into it's three settings but when you turned the button nothing happened. So it was back again for it to be repaired. That was last Nov:22. required a new part, that was ordered from Breitling. Due to Breitling's rubbish service the part has not been delivered yet. Date now 3/2/23 so 4 months. Yes I know we have had Christmas and new year but that just isn't good enough. Conclusion would I buy another one??? Not on your life.

No rush as I haven't a clue when I will receive from the repair shop. (Might make a good Christmas present later this (or next year???)
Who's ever practically used a tachymeter on a watch? It'd be great if there were no speed limits and you had bright yellow milestones to tell you when you've done a mile but it's not advisable to go fiddling with your watch buttons at 120mph! Let's just say the Breitling's best. It's got lots of nice little bits which really do come in useful and you can start showing off the slide rule even when you just know the basics if multiplication and division as a great conversation piece. As for the Rolex, you'll just have to go round proving it's not a fake all the time and even then the clones are getting more impressive all the time. I just find the Breitling better looking as well. As far as the claim 'As used on the Moon' - well, it was only telling the astronauts what time it was on Earth - I'm sure proper lunar time is a completely different matter!
The Navitimer outranks the Speedy because of its movement and equals the Rolex movement wise. The Speedmaster is using an ETA base movement whether the Rolex and Breitling are manufacture movements.I prefer older navitimers with older bwinged logo
The Navitimer is something else and a dangerous one to drive in your car. I have a 46 and don't even notice that it's on my wrist except when i drive my car and see it every time whyle steering. You have to pay attention to the road. For me it is the most beautifull of all watches. I have him now for 3 month and there is not even a second difference.

Personally the Moonwatch, considering design and history. Zenith undeniably has nothing to prove in the Chronograph game but I just don’t feel that drawn to their designs. (Nele)

You'd think with Breitling having made the first wrist chronograph pusher and the Navitimer being the first wrist watch in space, as well as all of the aviation history, there'd be some level of heritage that they could tap into. They really should spend more money on marketing instead of improving their designs and quality.

I feel like as a brand Breitling is a little under Omega in terms of quality. Breitling is still using off the shelf movements, whereas Omega uses only in house movements (not sure if that also applies to their small ladies watches).

Don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with Breitling. I also sometimes prefer off the shelf movements as they are robust and easy and cheap to service. But if you are trying to analyze brands and how they want to situate themselves in the industry, you should look at what they are doing compared to their competitors. I think that Breitling quality is a little under Omega but for example over Tudor. All great brands

Rolex is superior by far than any other brand in Demand Creation. Masters in marketing. Rather than that nothing special about their pieces. They have been itarating their sames models for years and years
Daytona? Hard or impossible to get, and very expensive … not much internal innovation. Speedmaster? Moonwatch, handsome, desirable, but … pure manual wind with no real innovation. Navitimer? Bulletproof in-house movement, aviation/tool watch, and should be priced ABOVE Speedy, not below. Buy what you want … but if buying just one … Navi offers three sizes, bracelet or strap, many color options, and has a heritage from 1952. Navi wins this one.
I don’t really agree, the Daytona has one of the best chronograph movements in the business. I am persoally not a big fan of Rolex but all their movements are incredibly well build and made to last. The Omega has better certifications and is very robust but yeah i agree the manual winding can be annoying.
Only in marketing, not in the movement . Omega and Rolex use to be roughly around the same price, but today Rolex is more expensive because of there marketing, not because of any new innovation.

The Daytonas went up way too much in price for most people to ever obtain one though. The Breitling and Omega are at least somewhat realistic.

I don’t know too much about the B01 but i wouldn’t agree. Rolex gets a lot of hate but one has to admit that their movements are extremely well built. I would put the Daytona caliber at the top, certainly above the 3861 from Omega. The Omega caliber is quite old fashioned with the lateral clutch, which i find more beautiful but the vertical clutch is superior. Also the cam actuation does feel quite nice for what it is but a column wheel actuation just feels better and the Daytona has the best tactile feeling. So for me when ranking movements, Daytona, Navitimer then Speedmaster.
Pretty shallow commentary. Navitimer cosmonaute was actually the first watch in Space, so it’s associated with space as well not just Aviation. And why would Breitling place themselves between Tudor & Omega when its clearly a better built watch and higher quality than those 2? I have both the Navitimer b01 from 2019 and the new Speedmaster. The difference in Quality is like day and night.
Well when you think about watches and space Omega clearly comes to mind as it’s the first watch on the Moon and Omega works very hard so that noone forgets.
When you look at their prices they situate themselves between Omega and Tudor, that Breitling is better than Omega, that is your opinion. I don’t agree
I agree. I have a sapphire Soeedmaster moon watch and a Navitimer 01. The Navitimer is definitely next level quality compared to the Speedy. Speedy feels generic in comparison to be honest.
I obtained a new Navitimer 46 some 15 months ago. Because I have owned a Breitling before and never had any problems with it.
What do I think of the latest one??? well it's RUBBISH. Looks great but the thing has been more trouble than it's worth. First off it never told the correct time was always some 10 Min: fast everyday. Then after around 6 months the winder stopped working. Would go into it's three settings but when you turned the button nothing happened. So it was back again for it to be repaired. That was last Nov:22. required a new part, that was ordered from Breitling. Due to Breitling's rubbish service the part has not been delivered yet. Date now 3/2/23 so 4 months. Yes I know we have had Christmas and new year but that just isn't good enough. Conclusion would I buy another one??? Not on your life.

@@TheWatchScientists I was just trying to inform people who were thinking of buying a Breitling watch, that they might look great but the movements are in my estimation not that good. My one will be up for sale asap once I get it back. Anyone wanting a 46mm Black dial white small dials, black Crocodile strap with clasp snap. please send a message making an offer. No rush as I haven't a clue when I will receive from the repair shop. (Might make a good Christmas present later this (or next year???)
Who's ever practically used a tachymeter on a watch? It'd be great if there were no speed limits and you had bright yellow milestones to tell you when you've done a mile but it's not advisable to go fiddling with your watch buttons at 120mph! Let's just say the Breitling's best. It's got lots of nice little bits which really do come in useful and you can start showing off the slide rule even when you just know the basics if multiplication and division as a great conversation piece. As for the Rolex, you'll just have to go round proving it's not a fake all the time and even then the clones are getting more impressive all the time.
I just find the Breitling better looking as well.
As far as the claim 'As used on the Moon' - well, it was only telling the astronauts what time it was on Earth - I'm sure proper lunar time is a completely different matter!
The Navitimer outranks the Speedy because of its movement and equals the Rolex movement wise. The Speedmaster is using an ETA base movement whether the Rolex and Breitling are manufacture movements.I prefer older navitimers with older bwinged logo

Yeah i recently got a b01 navi and it hasn't left my wrist. Best looking watch of the 3 imo. All great watches though.

The Navitimer is something else and a dangerous one to drive in your car. I have a 46 and don't even notice that it's on my wrist except when i drive my car and see it every time whyle steering. You have to pay attention to the road. For me it is the most beautifull of all watches. I have him now for 3 month and there is not even a second difference.

@@TheWatchScientists Got it. I was trying to understand the comments you made about the broad appeal of Omega due to space travel and suggestion that Breitling should price their models below Omega. You'd think with Breitling having made the first wrist chronograph pusher and the Navitimer being the first wrist watch in space, as well as all of the aviation history, there'd be some level of heritage that they could tap into. They really should spend more money on marketing instead of improving their designs and quality.

I feel like as a brand Breitling is a little under Omega in terms of quality. Breitling is still using off the shelf movements, whereas Omega uses only in house movements (not sure if that also applies to their small ladies watches).
@@TheWatchScientists so Breitling does not make their own movements ? See the thing is if you’re in a spot like me where you’re maybe only going to buy one watch, it’s gotta stand out a bit. The Navi does it. The omega is also beautiful but a bit simpler.
Don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with Breitling. I also sometimes prefer off the shelf movements as they are robust and easy and cheap to service. But if you are trying to analyze brands and how they want to situate themselves in the industry, you should look at what they are doing compared to their competitors. I think that Breitling quality is a little under Omega but for example over Tudor. All great brands

Rolex is superior by far than any other brand in Demand Creation. Masters in marketing. Rather than that nothing special about their pieces. They have been itarating their sames models for years and years
Daytona? Hard or impossible to get, and very expensive … not much internal innovation. Speedmaster? Moonwatch, handsome, desirable, but … pure manual wind with no real innovation. Navitimer? Bulletproof in-house movement, aviation/tool watch, and should be priced ABOVE Speedy, not below. Buy what you want … but if buying just one … Navi offers three sizes, bracelet or strap, many color options, and has a heritage from 1952. Navi wins this one.
I don’t really agree, the Daytona has one of the best chronograph movements in the business. I am persoally not a big fan of Rolex but all their movements are incredibly well build and made to last. The Omega has better certifications and is very robust but yeah i agree the manual winding can be annoying.

With all due respect Omega and Breitling are one step below Rolex.
Depends on who you ask. But it is also not necessarily a compliment for the Rolex because it should be better, it is almost twice as expensive

Only in marketing, not in the movement . Omega and Rolex use to be roughly around the same price, but today Rolex is more expensive because of there marketing, not because of any new innovation.
