That Zenith with the different colour subdials and exhibition caseback does it for me! Form factor is great for me and they subtly trolled Rolex as well by making them available to actually purchase at retail price!
I've always thought the ceramic bezel was too sporty looking on the Daytona. It goes much better with the more aggressive angular case of the Zenith. So I feel Zenith kind of trolled them once more by saying "oh let us show you how to do that right". Kind of reminds me of the scene in Men in Black when Will Smith gets his issued black suit, and say "the difference between you and me, is I make this look good". The Zenith quite literally out Daytonas the Daytona, and that's before you even get the the brilliance of the movement.

In reality, the chronomat looks even better! Wanted to buy an Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch but the Chronomat looked so beautiful and significant that I ended up buying it instead.
Out of the three I’d go with the Zenith. Just such a good looking watch with a sophisticated gorgeous movement too. Despite the chunkiness and inferior clasp.
Yes, and wait 6 months you'll probably get a discount. Leaving the name cache of Rolex aside, I prefer the Zenith. They also made a very similar watch and still do without the ceramic bezel, outside of that the dial is the same.

Not as available as it used to be. But yes. I think it's the best. Movement, see thru back, no screw down, and it looks so much more stunning. I ordered one. But on a wait list. Sadly
As a Breitling fan boy, I have the Chronomat, amongst many others. The brand that put a chronograph into a wristwatch after all. I would love the Zenith, the movement is stunning and I love the design. I would, and have in the past (before the price hype) turned down the Daytona. Not because it's a bad watch, but more because of the sort of attention it attracts and the sort of folk that value it for the price rather than the watch itself.
That's becoming the problem with Rolex--it's the one watch says volumes about the person wearing it, and it's saying some pretty bad things today. Daytona price hype has caused normal enthusiasts to recoil from it, and made it a magnet for the most superficial people you would ever meet, who prize conspicuous consumption over real value.
@@TruckeeDoggo I agree totally. Even before the recent (over the last ten or so years) hype, I felt that Rolex were overpriced for equivalent brands, now its just madness. I'm in love with that bracelet on the Breitling too. It's not one you see everyday, and even I'm warming up to the hidden clasp and not a fan of those in general.
The zenith is so beautiful in so many aspects. From its 1mm larger sIze than daytona that makes it a better fit for bigger wrists, date feature that is helpful, 10 sec rotation that's more accurate, and beautiful open back case. I especially like the white dial with its contrasting black and blue subdial. Colorful without being busy. Add to all these the mid pricing makes the zenith the clear, indisputable winner for me
Great breakdown of 3 beautiful watches. For the Breitling, while the Chronomat name was introduced in the 1940's, the aesthetic of this watch is more inspired by the revival of the Chronomat in 1982. The rouleaux braclet that the 2020 piece reinterprets was introduced with the 1980's model.
Between them, I think I would choose the Daytona. Though I often don’t mind “chunkiness”, I find that sleeker, streamlined watches just feel better on my wrist. Though I do appreciate that the Breitling case looks reinforced around the crown and pushers, places where chrono cases tend to wear-out and leak. Unfortunately, my Jenni size wrists won’t hold the Chronomat well. Things that I look for in a chronograph: 1. Durable movement- I think the 7750 has spoiled me, but this movement just keeps working and stays accurate. 2. Dial legibility- Especially when using the chronograph function, I find I appreciate the details applied in order to achieve this, especially since I prefer smaller, slimmer watch cases. I think legibility is a reason the Omega Speedmaster has such a timeless design. Unfortunately for me, it achieves this legibility with a very large dial, with a consequent wide case that doesn’t fit my wrists.
@@vicgutierrez707-z3d I can certainly appreciate the original, Steve McQueen one but it’s definitely not my cup of tea, from the brand to case shape & square subdials. I prefer Daytona (pre ceramic)
The Zenith is only 13,3mm thick!! ;) They say it’s 14mm think in the website but it’s less indeed. Measured by myself. I got one and it’s not that chunky. I’m partial but Zenith wins! 😜
Hi Jenni, I'm wearing my Rolex Daytona 116500LN white dial as I write this. I love how this watch wears. It disappears on the wrist because it is so comfortable, and when I do look down to check the time, I find myself looking at it again and again to admire it. I do sometimes wish that the pushers were not screw down so I could time something NOW, rather than 5 seconds from now. I also sometimes wish there was a date, but NOT in the 4:30 position (I hate all watches with the date at that spot). 6:00 in the running seconds sub-dial would be good, or maybe replace all that unneeded text below the ROLEX at 12:00 with the date. I paid retail for the Daytona when it came out, and I am dumbfounded by the prices people are asking for it now. If I were in the market for a chronograph today, I would seriously consider the Zenith, because this Rolex supply/demand mismatch is getting out of hand.
I have had the Chronomaster Sport for a few weeks now. I agree, the clasp is definitely not up to Rolex or Omega standards, but frankly, the bracelet is off the watch in the box. I'm wearing it on a sailcloth strap, which suits it very well. When I was wearing it on a bracelet, while I own the right tool, I found a wooden toothpick works wonders for the micro adjustment and is less likely to scratch the polished sides on the claps if I am a bit shaky.

@@garyboyle695 Lmaoo, you guys are just as bad as the die hard Rolex fanboys. Someone can't dislike a feature on the Zenith without the reason being "it's not a Rolex"?
Must haves in a chrono : chrono minute & hour counter, be able to use the chrono hand as running seconds. 1.) Daytona (4130) 2.) Speedmaster Racing (9900) 3.) Superocean Heritage II Chrono (B01) 4.) Fifty Fathoms Bathyscape (F385) 5.) Monaco (Heuer 02)
Zenith all the way! ;-) Stonishing movement. As for the Daytona, it's a great watch and very beautiful, but I do not like being manipulated by a bunch of arrogant 'rolexers'. The Breitling looks a bit too exagerated to me, but has a good price and appearance.
I´m loving this kind of video. Can we have a Dive Watch comparison (for example Rolex Submariner vs. Omega Seamaster 300 vs. Breitling Superocean Héritage II) next time?
Fortunate enough to touch try and and wear all of these 3 exact time pieces, but here is my opinion on these wrist instruments ... Rolex amazing watch but you are most definitely paying for the brand, Zenith is outstanding heritage and getting precision THE first auto chrono instrument movement, but BREITLING beats them all amongst the 3 shown for best value for dollar checking all the boxes in brand heritage, in house B01 movement, and pure beauty of the watch panda chrono, oh and that bracelet! I may be partial as I’ve just added this silver dial panda to my ever growing watch collection!
Did anyone else notice the “Hour” on the Daytona bezel is messed up? The middle part of the O and U. My WG Oysterflex version also had this QC issue, but at least RSC took care of it.
Jenni - love your videos. How many chronos can you own? I've recently added to my collection (of 6 watches) a Breitling Navitimer Chrono with the B01 movement, and a Zenith Defy El Primero 21 on the blue alligator band. Both rotate on my wrist with a vintage Submariner. Can't see spending the money on a Daytona. But I'm super impressed with the Zenith technology. Therefore the purchase of the Defy. An analog watch with a 1/100th second timer? Nobody needs it, but it shows off the technology they're creating. Bravo.
I'm not usually a fan of dual tone watches but that Breitling in dual tone looks fantastic. The gold really pops on the bullet bracelet. I'm a big Breitling fan boy but that Zenith is just a stunning watch and would be my choice. Daytona comes third for me but I'd bite the hand off a dealer if I could get one so I could sell it and buy the other two.
I've been in the market for a chronograph and have been researching these watches. The vertices clutch column wheel movement with a date of Breitling is an amazing value. Probably the best movement of the three.
When my AD offered me a Daytona years ago. I was all "doesn't it require a waiting list?" They were like, "no no, it's okay." I didn't realize it's because I had bought several watches from them already. I feel stupid.
The Zenith all day everyday!! Wow what an amazing watch. The movement, the case back and that beautiful dial. One of the most beautiful watches out there in my opinion
"Many appreciate the 'perceived' scarcity of the Daytona." I love how you put that. Such diplomacy. I'd have just said "Many people have swallowed the myth that a mass produced watch can't ever be mass produced enough to meet demand."
This video came out two weeks early, the best one is the new Tudor Black Bay Chrono panda. The Rolex made case plus the powerful Breitling made mouvement at $5k? That’s the winner of the chrono battle.
So the Chronomat (arguably the best of the three, given its movement and price/availability) is also part of the video but it doesn't even deserve a spot on the thumbnail?
I now own a Superocean 2 With a depth of 1,65 0 feet and a Crono! I have owned Rolex’s before as well.. I’m loving the look and especially the cost of my first Breitling . I am now a fan…. And thank you . I think you do a fantastic job on your reviews
I have the Blue Zenith El Primero Flyback, and it’s outstanding. It’s the most accurate timepiece I own, only losing seconds per year. Fit and finish are amazing, and stunning in person.
It’s the Zenith for me, great sub dial arrangement . If they dropped the date , would make for a less cluttered design and it could hopefully make a thinner case a possibility. I’m not going to buy a 15mm thick watch, it’s the reason a don’t have a Tudor GMT.
Fantastic comparisons...all great watches! I just tried on the Breitling the other day...it's beautiful! Don't get me wrong, I love Rolex, but to think you could buy 2 Zeniths AND the Breitling for the price of the Daytona is ridiculous!!! Maybe if people would start refusing to pay these secondary prices we could get back to normal! Keep up the great work!
Great video, really enjoyed this. I’m in the market for a new piece and have been considering the Zenith. I’m completely new to Zenith. The Zenith (to me in my inferior knowledge) seems to offer the most sophisticated movement and is very well made. The Rolex is first and foremost (lets face it) an indicator of wealth. Undoubtedly a great watch but I’m pretty sure most people buy it because its a Rolex Daytona rather than for the mechanical quality of it. The Breitling is a great watch with enough brand prestige to satisfy most people. I have a Navitimer and with the exception that it removes a layer of skin from my fingers when I wind it (!!) its a great watch.
Wonderful video. Love all 3, but I'd choose the Zenith. I also really like the blue Defy Skyline Skeleton. Love to find them on the secondary market since you'd think Zenith preowned would drop more in price than a Rolex, Omega.
Ever since I read the story of how the ElPrimero was hidden in a n attic as Zenith went out of business, and was later recovered by one of it's designers, and put into production, it has been at the top of my list.
Thank you Jenni for another great review. If I was in the market for a new chronograph it would be the Zenith, it looks different with the three different coloured sub dials and has that 1/10th second counter that looks fantastic in use. I love the Daytona as well if I could get one. The Breitling does not really call to me, I'm sure it's a fantastic watch and a great bracelet and maybe if the other two were not around I may talk a look but there are others out there at this price that would also have to be considered. It's great to see if the reviewed watches pass the IBWC approval, you really started something there.

@@garyboyle695 Lmaoo, you guys are just as bad as the die hard Rolex fanboys. Someone can't dislike a feature on the Zenith without the reason being "it's not a Rolex"?
@@rousseau327 Maybe you should educate yourself with the Zenith complications function before commenting because you just look stupid.
Must haves in a chrono : chrono minute & hour counter, be able to use the chrono hand as running seconds.
1.) Daytona (4130)
2.) Speedmaster Racing (9900)
3.) Superocean Heritage II Chrono (B01)
4.) Fifty Fathoms Bathyscape (F385)
5.) Monaco (Heuer 02)
The zenith looks best from pictures, really wanna try it in person.
Zenith all the way! ;-) Stonishing movement. As for the Daytona, it's a great watch and very beautiful, but I do not like being manipulated by a bunch of arrogant 'rolexers'. The Breitling looks a bit too exagerated to me, but has a good price and appearance.
This is such a wonderful watch channel!
I´m loving this kind of video. Can we have a Dive Watch comparison (for example Rolex Submariner vs. Omega Seamaster 300 vs. Breitling Superocean Héritage II) next time?
I’d go Breitling on looks. I don’t know, I just like the way it looks. Great video. Really enjoy your channel. Thanks.
My favourite is Zenith. I have an el primero hw.
This is a great guide for people like me who’s is still starting to collect watches and what suits me.
I'm giving this a thumbs up because it's a great comparison, I hadn't thought of the Breitling, and it's Jenni so...
The Breitling is my favorite outta the 3!
Try one on, actually wears really well and the quality is outstanding. Every point of interaction is so tactile.
I've been in the market for a chronograph and have been researching these watches. The vertices clutch column wheel movement with a date of Breitling is an amazing value. Probably the best movement of the three.
All in for zenith el primero ❤
I Love the Chronomat!
When my AD offered me a Daytona years ago. I was all "doesn't it require a waiting list?" They were like, "no no, it's okay." I didn't realize it's because I had bought several watches from them already. I feel stupid.
Your NOT stupid when you can buy a Daytona for listprice
Daytona for me , thanks !!!!
Great review, thanks Jenni!
Wow, the Zenith just blows the other two out of the water. Stunning.
I have the Daytona and love it. I do like the Zenith but hate the added date.
The angled date is a no starter for me
The Zenith all day everyday!! Wow what an amazing watch. The movement, the case back and that beautiful dial. One of the most beautiful watches out there in my opinion
The Zenith Chronomaster case thickness should be between 13.4mm-13.8mm
In your video you say 15mm, is this correct?
Love you and your videos Jenni!
Always love your videos. I would pick the daytona or breitling
Zenith all day, every day, and twice on Sunday. Looks and specs, and availability, price.
"Many appreciate the 'perceived' scarcity of the Daytona."
I love how you put that.
Good point.
Zenith all the way, easy call since you cant actually buy the Rolex.
That Breitling looks absolutely stunning!
I have the same Zenith featured in this video. Absolutely love it.
I’m biased, as I already own a 38 mm Zenith, but the new El Primero is killer. Thanks for pointing out that it’s not a Daytona clone.
So the Chronomat (arguably the best of the three, given its movement and price/availability) is also part of the video but it doesn't even deserve a spot on the thumbnail?
There is definitely an anti Breitling snob factor within the watch community.
I'll take all three...and the brown watch roll 👍
Love the Zenith!
I own the Chronomat and love it. I think the new Tudor Black Bay chrono would be a good competitor as well.
I now own a Superocean 2 With a depth of 1,65 0 feet and a Crono! I have owned Rolex’s before as well.. I’m loving the look and especially the cost of my first Breitling . I am now a fan…. And thank you . I think you do a fantastic job on your reviews
hi, where can i buy protection films to my watch?
i have a rolex submarine 2 tone, and i wana protect the gold on it.
Hey Jenni. Good job with the comparison. Bdw are you sure the height on the Zenith is 15mm?
I’ve seen it recorded as 13.8 in some other videos. Thanks
I’m not going to buy a 15mm thick watch, it’s the reason a don’t have a Tudor GMT.
just bought the Cronomaster Sport Zenith and I Love It!!!
Without saying get on a waiting list
The Chronomat is the winner for me, the best specs and a great size for larger men like myself. All great timepieces though.
Wonderful video. Love all 3, but I'd choose the Zenith. I also really like the blue Defy Skyline Skeleton. Love to find them on the secondary market since you'd think Zenith preowned would drop more in price than a Rolex, Omega.
The Zenith is my pick - it's 1/10th second movement stands out.
Ever since I read the story of how the ElPrimero was hidden in a n attic as Zenith went out of business, and was later recovered by one of it's designers, and put into production, it has been at the top of my list.
Zenith for me....follow The Star!
The Zenith, it’s more exciting to look at. For me it’s not following the crowd.
El Primero all day.
Breitling, is my chose. I love many of there watches.
Who’s still counting their car’s speed with wrist chronograph in 2021? Zenith is the winner...great episode, Jennie. Cheers
The finishing of Breitling is always best!
