My son wanted the SupeOcean heritage II in blue dial and fine linked bracelet as his graduation present. I told him graduate with honors and we will talk. About 3 months before college graduation as a Computer Engineering student, he smugly told me, dad you better start saving for my watch. He got the watch and I had to defend the purchase with my wife. Beautiful watch.
As a proud super ocean heritage II owner, I highly recommend this watch!! The uniqueness of not trying to be like anyone and awesome movement, makes it a superb watch!!! Specifically buying preowned.
I liked it in pictures and vids so went to the dealer to try it on. I had two issues: 1. It's very polished and shiny - looked like a diver that you should only wear to the church. 2. The general design is more elegant that your average diver but there is a lot of text on the dial that clutters and messes up an otherwise classy design.
I agree w you. I love this watch. It doesn't get noticed as much as other time pieces, BUT watch people always catch it. Needless to say chick's won't catch it🤣
@@dr.michaelcarr4321 unless it's got a rolex crown ... every chick is oblivious 🤣 I own Both a Herritage & sub and yes everyone knows what a sub is but it's so common now it feels like it's trying to hard. I prefer my superocean, the blue is beautiful and the strap is always complimented & I don't look like I'm trying shoute about money
@@dr.michaelcarr4321 I would wholly disagree. When you take away the name, and let’s face it most of the time you can’t read it anyway from a distance anyway, then the Superocean Heritage gets the most attention and praise. Most other watches just look the same and don’t stand out. This one with its large ceramic bezel and mesh bracelet looks a million dollars to the casual observer.
@@dr.michaelcarr4321 Chicks wont catch it? The complete opposite, its so damn polished and shiny that typical non-watch people would notice it vs a more brushed stainless steel watch
This was my first luxury watch! Have owned it for 4 years and worn it every single day! Keeps excellent time and has the best AR coating with great readability in all lighting conditions. Great value for money!
@@mosytube I think it will do nicely. My wrist is similar size. It is a heavy watch and it takes a bit of time to get used to its weight on the wrist. Nevertheless, a fantastic watch!
What color is your dial. I am deciding on the blue or black.. based on Teddy's assessment the black does show more blue tinge that the blue dial. Your thoughts
A few weeks ago, I bought the superocean heritage ii with the blue dial and mesh bracelet. It's a beautiful and versatile watch that looks great with business or casual attire. Personally, I feel the Omega 300 diver looks like a fashion watch, while the superocean heritage ii looks elegant.
Bought mine last year! Love it. Been wearing it while swimming, as well as while attending formal events. Works well anywhere. My favorite watch. It’s so elegant.
I purchased a Breitling Superocean Heritage II 42 with the mesh bracelet in the Bahamas last month. I can't stop staring at this watch, it's a work of art! Always sparks a conversation when I am out.👍
Bought mine today with a green dial. This is a replacement for my Superocean that I sold some 10 years ago, when times were tough. Alway regretted selling it and so glad to have one back on my wrist.
Bought a Black Superocean Heritage II Chronograph (with the Milanese bracelet) a few days ago as my first luxury watch and couldn't be happier with it. Was also looking some Omegas and the Tudor Black Bay but this Breitling has an undeniable wow factor. Stunning timepiece.
Owned it for a few weeks and it's awesome. Got the black Heritage II and looks even better in person. It's a bit heavy but can be dressed up pretty well also.
Just bought (2 weeks ago) the SOH B20 42mm with green dial and mesh bracelet. An absolute masterpiece to look at - that's what matters to me. Oh and I've tested it's accuracy, approx -1 second every 2 days.
Great video Teddy, I own it in 42 blue and LOVE it. One thing to note is that Breitling does not utilize the Silicon hairspring but a Nivarox. They believe its better to have an antimagnetic alloy which can be repaired in lieu of a completely antimagnetic silicon one which cannot be repaired and must be replaced. I think both are great just a difference of opinion on long term serviceability.
I own a super ocean black bezel with black dial on alligator leather strap. This is by far my most worn watch. Simple, classy and best if want to keep it low profile. The dial is so clean and even the lume is great. It has a reflective coating which if you see from side will turn light into blue color reducing the reflection of light and this makes the watch so easy to read, i havent even seen this in other high end watches. This is an underrated masterpiece and should receive more love.
The Superocean was always my grail diver. Then, I found (and purchased) preowned Planet Ocean and didn’t feel the need to add another high end diver. The P O has cured my itch for the time being. But, the Superocean still gets my attention ever time I see one, especially on the professional bracelet!❤️
Bro I was in almost the same boat I used to obsess over the super ocean and saved up for a long time to get one but last minute had a change of heart and got a omega seamaster 300m. I will only get so many “expensive for me” watch purchases in my life time so for the next one I don’t think I want a diver. I scratched that itch but I still think the Breitling is awesome
@@WatchUnwind I’m obsessed about the super ocean as well for the last weeks. I think it’s gorgeous. I was at a dealer last week and also had the omega on my wrist. I still think the super ocean is more gorgeous but I feel the omega is the better more reliable watch. It felt sturdier. What made you decide to go for the omega?
@@rutgerv.6050 I’d say the are definitely both of the same quality as far as reliably and build quality goes. To me I have always wanted both an omega and a breitling but I actually happens to be watching the James Bond films at the time because I slacked on seeing them when they came out. I also saw an omega ad where the sea master was incased in ice and I just recently moved to Alaska so I thought it was cool I put it as my phone screen for awhile. Kind of a combination of things but don’t over think it as far as specs or reliability or what others will think the one and only thing that matters is your heart, got to go with your gut on what is going to make you smile more day to day
@@WatchUnwind awesome. Thank you for your reply! I’m gonna visit some more dealers and decide which one I’m gonna get. ( which is part of the fun) Right now it’s probably 75-25% in favor of the superocean Thanks again
I bought this watch (the black 42mm version) second hand in 2018, and have worn it until I bought my Blancpain FF Bathyscaphe 70’ies Day Date in July 2021 (also second hand). I still love and use my Breitling Superocean II, and the “blue hue” that Teddy talks about is no issue, at least to me. After all, this is the double coating to the sapphire glass that makes the dial, hands and indices look absolutely amazing, especially in dim light conditions. I have many times been arrested by the wife for not paying attantion to whatever series we are binging on Netflix, because I am staring at my Breitling and twisting my wrist to catch the light just right! But, I have to admit my Blancpain FF is a step above, but also these two cannot be compared like-for-like as they are very different tiers. Also I do not understand the use for the “wart” (some call it helium escape valve) on the Omega, and the Tudor crown looks the size of a tractor wheel to me. I work in the subsea business, so I know what a waste 99,9% of helium escape valve on watches are. I guess the same could be said for chronographs (especially on divers…), but each to their own. After all, we all tend to forget that: “Relax, it’s just a watch”.
I bought the 46mm in blue with the rubber strap about a year ago. It looks and wears great! I get more compliments on this watch than any other watch I own.
Just picked mine up and I love it. The more I wear it, the more I enjoy it. My wife actually saw it and told me to try it on. Got a great price to boot.
Some of those older superoceans are straight up beasts. One of my early reviews with with a older superocean I think the water resistance was like 1500m or something close enough which is absolutely bonkers
I have the Blue one in 44mm with the mesh bracelet!! I would try on this watch at my job every single day and when I finally got it I felt like a freaking winner man, this timepiece is sexy as hell imo, and boy has it helped me sell more Breitlings!!! I LOOK SO GOOD! I wear this every single day, in any occasion, super versatile! Highly recommend it!!!
I bought the Breitling SuperOcean Heritage II on a Milanese mesh bracelet with a blue dial with red gold a few months back and I love it. Premium quality product.
Own it and love it, I ratcheted up the luxury aspect by getting it with the Red Gold bezel and dial. It's just stunning. I dialed the bling back a little by getting it on the black rubber strap. It's one of my favorite watches in my collection. While its a diver I very much consider it a dress watch too. Oh and Teddy I think you had a Boo Boo in your review. The B20 doesn't have a silicone hairspring Breitling swaps it out for a Nevrox, It's a Swatch thing they own both.
I am considering getting the Red Gold/Black bezel with the black rubber strap as well. My fear is it will be too flashy to wear on non dressy occasions. Do you still feel comfortable wearing yours with more casual attire?
@@brianmartinez1364 interesting question. I just put it on to consider your question. I have a modest collection of watches. Only one being a true dress watch. For instance I don't consider my Seamaster 300m Pro a dress watch or my Submariner. The Super Ocean Heritage.42mm B20 Red gold. I actually consider a hybrid. It's a dressy desk diver. I would wear it to a wedding and I wear it to church. But maybe not with jeans and a pull over. The gold makes it flashy but the black rubber tones it down. So I guess I'm saying its very versatile and I wear it from mid dress occasions to dressier occasions. But not afraid to wear it very casual just to show some flash. I know this wasn't very helpful. 😊
@Robert Sullivan that was helpful thank you. This is my first watch in this price point and I really love it. I am probably leaning towards just the blue or black without the gold to alleviate my concerns. I can always step up the flash in the future if I want. For my first watch like this though I will probably get the one I can wear on more casual occasions as an everyday watch.
@@brianmartinez1364 that's great but I'll tell you now in Blue or Black, Gold no Gold. It will flash and be noticed and that's a good thing but most of all enjoy it in good health.😊
I absolutely agree with you it’s a great watch, I own one too. The thickness and lugs are amazing also the clasp is really nice keeps it thin and on rubber it’s perfect. Only thing they need to improve imo on next gen is put some super high quality lume and fill those indecies. Other than that the lume works ok as is.
As a former owner of this watch, I loved its sophisticated look and uniqueness. I’d get asked frequently, “What kind of watch is that?” However, two drawbacks. First, the bracelet looks amazing… when clean. At other times it looks a little dull as it’s interwoven style naturally traps dust and dirt. Second, and the reason I ultimately sold it, the markers on the bezel started to fade after less than two years of normal office wear. This was a huge construction quality issue for me and I couldn’t imagine how it would stand the test of time several years down the road.
This is the type of comment I was hoping not to see. I’m looking for something that I will be using every day and beating the hell out of it. I know it’s going to wear but it should still look amazing years down the line. I’m very sad to see that it fades at this price point with casual use. I was really set on this
I discovered this watch by chance a few weeks ago (never been especially into Breitling before) I saw this man on the subway reading off his phone and noticed it, that sold me almost by frist glance. Definitly getting this as my next high end watch.
I have the B20 in black with black rubber strap which helps dress it down. The watch definitely wears smaller that its dimensions with the lugs that turn down. Its very comfortable on my 6inch wrist. The fact that these watches are somewhat overlooked is for me all the more reason to buy one, who wants to pay a premium for a watch that everyone else is wearing.
I bought a superocean heritage 42 with a white dial and black bezel in Aug. 2015. The date is at the 3 O'clock position. Its been nine years but every morning when I put it on, it grows a little bit more on me!
Hmmm, I would put them about equal but Brietling has had some huge missteps and Superoceans suffer from being way too expensive and too shiny, and are now a plain old second tier luxuary brand without Tudors tool credability, without Tudors value, why would you pay for a huge desk diver from a second tier lux brand when you can get Seamasters and Planet Oceans for a little more on Chrono Let alone a BB for a grand less, from a brand with just as much cred as Brietling, which is a "mall brand" Omega isn't. You might rate them the same but dealers and collectors disagree. Hence the term Mall Brand
Tudor has no history and no horological significance lol mall brand? You’re obviously a hater! Omega is owned by Richemont that’s why they can flex their movements Breitling is still independent company. Planet Ocean is 18mm thick for 600m, SO 42 is 13mm for 500m and 14 for 1000. Also the James Bond thing is such a gimmick! PLO prof a disaster and the pre bond Seamasters are a joke. Breitling is finally showing what it’s made of! One of the best luxury brands up there with Rolex Omega
@@torontowatches9709 Tudor has a much better history than Brietling as issued to British forces, Hans Wilsdorf, my point was their history was at least as significant as Brietling, more so in the aqatic arena. Many BB models are (short) waitlist, Pelagos is selling out or on order but no discounts and like Omega in the league above popular models are tricky to source and seldom in the window, in the same mall I can get any Brietling I want at a discount. This puts them in the same bracket as Tag, Huer realistically, another brand that has failed to leverage its illustrius history into a tier one brand identity, unlike ....Plus the re-sale is awful compared to both Tudor and Omega. Sorry if I wasn't clear before. Your opinions re models, the Plowprof is a significant part and icon of divewatches as is the blue seamaster, I agree about Bond, he shouldn't be wearing an Omega at all, dont forget back then Omega was the lux watch and Rolex the tool. The PO is a hockey puck and they should do a seamaster without the valve and the No Time to die is a awful faux butch horological codpeice of a watch that is trading at 50% but the numbers dont lie, also were you aware Brietling use Tudor movements and the BO1 is a collab between the two, so same movement, one costs less and returns your money, one costs more but looses more plus (imho) make you look like a yacht pimp.
Funny. I'd been shopping for dive watches and had finally settled on the Glashutte SeaQ Panorama Date or the Blancpain 50 Fathoms. Loved them both but had a tiny nit with each one -- and for $10k I'm not willing to have even a tiny nit. Ultimately, settled on the SuperOcean Heritage. Sure, a better power reserve would be great, and the history of the 50 Fathoms is compelling, but couldn't be happier.
Teddy, you mentioned that this watch has a silicone hairspring. My understanding is that in the B20, Breitling actually swapped out the silicone hairspring Tudor originally provided for a less desirable / less anti-magnetic hairspring. Am I incorrect in that regard? All that being said, I have owned the 42mm SOH II in blue for two years now. I work in an industrial environment actually known for "zapping" people's digital watches. Mine has never deviated from COSC standards. Love it- such a beauty.
It is more elegant than the tudor, and arguably even than the Omega. The mesh bracelet gives it some serious swag, imo. I would prefer this over the Black Bay and (based on aesthetics alone) over the Omega as well. I can't drop this kind of coin on a diver right now, but this will remain on my radar for the next year or two. 100%.
Just purchased SUPEROCEAN HERITAGE B20 AUTOMATIC 46 ... my first ... I was alarmed to adjust it tbh having to cut the strap... maybe I can just look at in the box 😆
I tried the super ocean heritage series, it had too much bling for my liking. I looked at the new std. super-ocean watches which were absolutely brilliant. Finally settled on a blue super ocean 42mm. And absolutely love it.
I got it 2nd hand for an absolute killer price. Otherwise would not have gotten it as also too bling to my taste. I have Tudor, Omega’s etc, but I somehow wear the SOH most. It’s just so pleasing to look at. No issues with the bling anymore
It's much more beautiful when you hold it in your hand than it is on a video. I bought it at a very big discount so shop around. You will love this watch
It seems that everyone has a Seamaster 300M these days...I am not an Omega fanboy and I own one too 😁🤦♂️. If you want something different from what everyone else wears in that price range, this is an interesting option. It looks beautiful. Thanks for the video.
The point about Rolex is kind of that the make 1 mio watches a year. Roughly. But the demand is so big that people go on waiting lists. Zenith makes 20000 watches a year and u can get them on a discount. 😂 Tbh I am thankful for this actually…. I don’t need a Rolex.
@Al Marcel Omg….. I cant hear it anymore ….. “Omg I will maybe get my Daytona soon” 🤗🤗 Like …… the zenith defy el primero 21 beats at 36000 VPH and allows u to measure a 10th of a SEC !!!! There are 2 separate movements build in. One for the Chrono and one for the watch it self. Beautifully skeletonized and finished. All on a retail of 12000€ (after market 6000€+) And people get excited about a 28800VPH standard Chrono basically? 😂😂 and pay 30k !!!! Money that I could spend on a freaking Lange 1 !! And also the submariner ….. omg… it is green jets charge 15000€ on the after sales market for this … Guys …. U get a freaking BP FF for this money without any waiting list or anything! A Blancpain !! And even u get it in retail …… Submariner black 8500€ JLC Polaris 7900€. Open the case back of the Rolex and tell me who of those two puts more love into watchmaking ?? Rolex makes 1 mio watches a year basically and the demand is so big that this is not even enough !
People need to pay more attention to Breitling now before the demand for it exceeds the supply! They have been churning out fantastic timepieces ever since Georges Kern took over!
I own the 42mm black on the black rubber strap. It’s stayed on my wrist everyday for almost 3 years. It’s taken a beating and never misses the mark. Only when I have to change the date because of 30 days.
This was the first 'luxury' watch I bought. Whilst I now have a hesalite Moonwatch and a Rolex Sub as well this is my go to watch on a sunny day - the case, dial and bracelet absolutely pop in the sunshine. It's my daily wearer now and I don't see it going anywhere anytime soon. Highly recommended!!

Great review. I think it's nice to see videos on the overlooked SuperOcean line. I think the reason it is overlooked is definitely due to the Breitling brand stigma. Yes, they have been definitely making strides with many of their recent releases, but the brand as a whole needs to be trimmed down significantly otherwise it will turn into a higher priced Tag Heuer. The SMP 300 on the strap runs for $4900 and the BB58 is $3700. The B20 is around $4850. Most consumers will opt for the Omega or Tudor over the Breitling simply because of brand recognition. I own a black SO Special, which I absolutely love. It's stealthy and has great wrist presence. However, I do want to get the SMP 300 at some point because in imo it is the best diver under 8k.
Huh. Tudor isnt in the same league as Brietling as far as recogination is concerned. Omega and Brietling are on equal terms. Tudor is not. They cant compete on the high end, for example they have nothing to compare to a navitimer. Rolex, Omega, Brietling are in the same class. Tudor is not.
@@chelious1973 I would disagree. It really depends on your audience. Horologist’s will almost always prefer Tudor. The average consumer could go either way. Tudor won't be able to compare model to model with Breitling as Tudor's line is significantly smaller. This helps Tudor and hurts Breitling. I'm by no means a Tudor fanboy. I actually own a Breitling and not a Tudor. I'll ignore the fact that you think Breitling belongs in the same category as Rolex.
@@kevinp4305. You can ignore it all you want. Horologists will slways prefer Tudor? Why is that? You mean Rolex fanboy watch channels? Not the same thing. Rolex is a mass produced piece, same as Brietling. Tudor is a sub brand of Rolex. Brietling is its own brand. They have iconic pieces, Tudor does not. They dont play on the high end, Brietling does. Yes, they compare very well with Rolex. So does Omega. Different ball parks my friend. What iconic pieces doesTudor have? Name one. Just one.
@@chelious1973 Again, I don’t own a Tudor or care to buy one. I chose to buy a Breitling instead. I personally think Tudor is where it is because of Rolex, PERIOD. You seem to think I prefer Tudor over Breitling and that simply is not the case. What I am saying is that Tudor get's more love than Breitling because of its Rolex connection and movement. The issue with Brietling is that you can buy a Navitimer and most of their line pre-owned under 5K. That also goes for Tudor. This is why those brands are not in the same league as Rolex. Rolex controls the market with supply and demand that is why they are so sought after. I think out of all of these brands, Omega gives you the most value.
The B logo is the original logo. Given this is a heritage diver the B logo is more accurate to its history. Dont mind the wings on the Navitimer since its aviator watch.
Nice review, Teddy, thank you. If they had another steel bracelet option than mesh, and somehow improved dial lume, I'd be seriously considering it. This SO Heritage is so close.
@@robertsullivan4773 Thanks, Robert, yeah maybe. Kind of a bracelet guy, though. If it had polished beads of rice, maybe. Not historically accurate, but. Breitling is a great company, in my opinion, hope to keep my 2003 SO for rest of life.
Love this watch. Wish I would have looked at it before getting my SO II 42. The dressier look than the typical dive watch sets it apart. But my ETA movement getting +2 sec/day is fantastic. The Heritage could be in my future some day.
The one that you have has better lume, significantly thinner and better movement imo especially Breitlings etas. I own both your watch and this and the 2 42 is definitely my favorite. The lume on the heritage is so poor it bothers me so much, ready to sell it but the bracelet and Bezel always keep me from doing so. That tudor movement sucks, ETA is way better, has way longer history and Breitling modifies them to the best movement ever. Outside of Power reserve which is something virgins complain about your watch is absolutely perfect
Recently bought a Breitling and had seriously contemplated this Super Ocean heritage watch but 42mm with 50mm lug-to-lug was just too big for my 17cm wrist. Finally, settled for Aviator 41 Warhawk. Breitling needs to move away from the large bling watch mode and create 38-41mm variants.
Did you actually try it on? I have 6.5 wrist and the fit was perfect. It wears even smaller than the Seamaster due to a smaller dial and slimmer fit. Bling! The watch is almost entirely brushed... there is no bling! Do you find the Submariner or Seamaster too bling because they both have more polish than the Breitling. Just my opinion hope you enjoy your Aviator also a great piece.
Went for this cause I wanted something different to the BB and seamaster - great to see it getting some love. Opted for the two tone rose gold for that extra bit of bling and wear it everyday, couldn’t be happier.
Teddy. You videos are getting better and better. You are good in front of the camera and come off humble yet knowledgeable. Keep up the good work. Oh, and do a video on the JLC SECTOR dial!!!!
I bought this watch 4 years ago however the date window is at the 3 position which I prefer. I think they changed this slightly after I purchased it. Great watch which is extremely durable and works well as dress or casual thanks to the bracelet
Simply beautiful and a more attractive piece aesthetically than both Tudor, Omega and Rolex for that matter. Definately my pick. Only criticism is the gap between the end link and the case. A curved end link would fit better.
Thanks for this video Teddy! This has been my favourite watch for years and it will be added to the collection once finances permit. Keep up the great content and thanks again 🙏🏻😁
Worth mentioning that Breitling decorated their adopted B20 movement compared to the undecorated tudor mt5612 and swapped the nivachron hairspring into a metal hairspring which is less antimagnatisim.
Thanks for this video! Yes, the Heritage 2 should get more attention. But I also like the understatement which comes with it. I found it by far the most esthetic watch in the segment. I tried among others also the Omega but I really got a problem with this thin rubber band which does not fit to the watch at all.
For the folks slating Tudor, The Breitling Superocean Héritage II is powered by the automatic B20 caliber that came from a collaboration with Tudor, as Breitling mainly just shipped in third party movements (ETA) for years and recently started their own in-house movements department, they turned to Tudor as a leader in expertise, then a chrono was developed and a modified Breitling B01 movement appears in latest Tudor chronographs range so they are very much partners. Generally Breitling is now using the Tudor in-house MT5612 (dropped ETA) apart from the B20 line models, Maybe do some research or ask a watch guy, your Breitlings are Tudor inside the case . The limited edition (of 250) Green dial SuperOceans still use ETA movements as they were set aside as a custom run, manager of the Breitling NYC store told me over a few G&T's upstairs a while back in the customer suite, apparently it takes 8 months of processing to get a green dial to that finish, if it didn't have the ETA in it, I would have the green model over all others in the line for looks and exclusivity.

I've got the blue one, very happy of it. Moreover you can easily find this watch at lower prices, in this case really interesting.
Im def in the minority but I prefer I wing-less B logo. The new logo portrays the new direction of Breitling. The wing logo reminds me of the 2000s Breitling with the 48mm chrome garbage.
Great review, Teddy! This is a nice piece that doesn't likely get the attention it deserves. This watch would easily fill the same space as an Omega Seamaster or Rolex Sub but it somehow doesn't get the respect that those pieces do.
Because its too shiny (like the new sub), because its too expensive, because some of the re-issues are only 100 meteres, because they have no real Ocean heritage (Kelly Slater no-withstanding) selling "Super" dive watches without a lume pip, rubbish loom generally.
I was looking for a new watch to celebrate a big birthday. Rolex was 4 to 6 year waiting list at my AD for the Submariner and Batman. The Swatch Omega thing put me off the Seamaster 300M and I don't like the Tudor brand also no one knows Tudor in my country. So i went on a search and came across the SuperOcean Heritage B20 which grew on me very quickly as it does look great. After researching and pretty much mostly positive reviews I purchased and i couldn't be happier with the watch. I have 7.5 inch wrist and the 42 is the perfect size for me, I don't like a large watch. I also love the dark blue hue on the black dial. The want for a Rolex has disappeared weirdly.
ThanksTeddy, great video as always! It would be great a smaller case for the line, as the sizes start at 42 up to 46mm, just too big for the small wrist enthusiast. I know this is somehow expected from Breitling, they are larger in size than average, but the "chuncky watch on steroids" is a fading trend in my opinion. Rolex move back to 36mm the Explorer I line, Cartier Tank is getting more popular in the last 2-3 years, so there are good indications of this tendency. Cheers mate.
In a world of submariner clones. Bought this one for its uniqueness and it has just the right amount of bling and amazing mesh bracelet. Highly recommend!
@@Ebombda12543 I have 6.5in wrist so you’re good on wrist size. I daily it for the most part. May pull off in a T-shirt better with the rubber strap but I love the mesh bracelet. I know dive watches and suits are a controversial topic but out of all dive watches I think this one can work as good as any.
I think you’ve hit the nail on the head with your comments on the competition. I do like this watch and would happily wear it however, the styling of the black bay 58 appeals more to me and it’s cheaper. I’d rather save a bit of money and have the Tudor. If my budget were larger then the fifty fathoms would get my business. Still, it’s a great watch and nicely executed.
First off, amazing camera work and close ups. From Breitling, I’d love to see a black dial Chronomat 36. Not sure why they market this as a female watch. It’s a great looking unisex watch and the black dial will cinch the deal for me. Love the rouleaux bracelet too.
Just got a SOHII 44 in blue and it's incredible in person. I opted for the Milanese (mesh) bracelet though mainly because it's a better value in terms of lengevity and aesthetics (IMO). I also found a guy in Vietnam that makes bespoke high-end leather straps that can replicate the looks of the vintage style leather straps at roughly one-fourth the cost of what Breitling charges. I highly recommend this model and you won't regret getting one.
@@WatchUnwind yeah those prices are absurd and comical but it evidently comes with the territory in the luxury watch market. I've had a few other luxury watches that I wore and enjoyed for a few years but then sold and nearly recouped my entire initial principal. So worrying about service and replacement costs has never been of concern for me.
Teddy, what do you think about new SuperOcean A17375? Never heard you talking about it but it is the watch that look totally different on wrist than in pictures???
Agreed, look and feel great in person. People talk about grand seiko polishing but iv always thought Breitling has some of the most popping and well polished watches in person. If someone walks in the room with a Breitling you notice it immediately. Well us watch nerds do
Sizing can really be tricky. I bought a Glycene Airman, thinking that with the 41.5mm case diameter, and the 50mm lug to lug I might have to end up returning it for looking too ridiculous on my 6 14" wrist. I was surprised that it looked ok. I definitely wanted to keep it, and I definitely did!
Great video as always. Agree about SO. Underrated lux diver. Not quite a Sub, Janes Bind doesn’t wear one, and more expensive that the Tudor BB. That said, I’ve had a 17391 SO for a while and it’s a terrific piece. Not a heritage vibe, but solid as a tank, beautiful finishing, and sports the old school Breitling winged logo at 12 o’clock. The cursive “B” just doesn’t do it for me. Keep up the good work.
Teddy, love your work. Nobody ever answers my question about them not putting numerals on the bezel. Please address this. How can this even be considered a dive watch without the use of the bezel even really possible unless you want to spend three times longer trying to look at the hash marks? Why not just make this a 10m dive watch if you aren't actually going to make it usable in other ways? I know that nobody is really diving in these but I use my timing bezel all the time for cooking and for the gym and other things like that. Would love to have this watch but it's just not useful. Thoughts? Thank you so much my friend and keep it up!
Have the black one in 42mm with rubber strap. A really beautiful watch, fits fantastic at my really slim wrist. Wear it every day in quite every situation. Deviation +4/+5s per day, could be better but yeah, certification. So now is my dream a Rolex Rootbeer GMT2 just because it’s a Rolex and quite pretty, maybe in 15 years then…
Great Review Teddy.. Love this watch.. It is a versatile machine.. I have the Blue Dial in 46mm and personally I tried the 42mm and it was too small for my liking. I have the steel mesh bracelet, the blue rubber mesh bracelet and the blue leather strap.. All kindly thrown in by the Breitling Boutique manager here in Sydney.. (Jonathan) Great guy and super customer focused. Having the three straps really gives me three very distinct and different looks to this watch.. Relaxed, Stylish and dressy with a change of the strap. Earlier this year I got the Kelly Slater green Superocean in 44mm and have just replaced the nato strap with a steel bracelet from Breitling.. Totally transformed the look. I am currently tempted by the new Super Chronomat 44mm with the Blue or possibly Boutique only Green Dial... Which retails in Australia for more than the price of a Sub.. Not being able to get my hands on a Sub or any Rolex for that matter without paying ridiculous prices means I am likely to get another Breitling..

Congrats to your son!

As a proud super ocean heritage II owner, I highly recommend this watch!! The uniqueness of not trying to be like anyone and awesome movement, makes it a superb watch!!! Specifically buying preowned.
I liked it in pictures and vids so went to the dealer to try it on. I had two issues:
Nice! Does it wear big? My wrist is about 16.75cm. Will this wear huge?
@@mosytube I think it will do nicely. My wrist is similar size. It is a heavy watch and it takes a bit of time to get used to its weight on the wrist.
Nevertheless, a fantastic watch!
What color is your dial. I am deciding on the blue or black.. based on Teddy's assessment the black does show more blue tinge that the blue dial. Your thoughts
@@ManfromJapan12 I have the black dial. To me, the black has a richer /deeper colour than the blue.
I like to picture that even when he's not recording video, Teddy just walks around Cleveland looking around and checking the time constantly
LOL
And holding hands with his dreamy GF
Most likely something close enough to this
Dont we all? Lol hahaha
How does the green dial with mesh bracelet look on wrist ? As I am considering
I bought this recently, I am stunned every time I look at it. The metal bracelet especially is a thing of beauty.
Owned it for a few weeks and it's awesome. Got the black Heritage II and looks even better in person. It's a bit heavy but can be dressed up pretty well also.
I couldn’t agree with you more! I think Breitling does a great job with this watch and really should get much more attention than it does.
The breitling super ocean looks a million bucks compared to the seamaster and Tudor
yes its more flashy then my everyday Tudor
Agree it looks much better in person than Omega or Tudor!
No...too chunky, no lume, bad clasp.
Makes the Sea Master look like a teenager’s watch
Suit , casual, it does it all and the red gold two tone pops
( which is part of the fun)
Right now it’s probably 75-25% in favor of the superocean

I have an older Superocean that I still love but I do want a Superocean heritage on the mesh bracelet, it looks great!!!
Some of those older superoceans are straight up beasts. One of my early reviews with with a older superocean I think the water resistance was like 1500m or something close enough which is absolutely bonkers

I bought the blue one yesterday. I can't stop looking at it. I love it.
WTH the markers on the bezel were fading? That’s awful!
Breitling is a higher level brand than Tudor, it’s on par with omega
Must Agree
Sooo underestimated
They have such a great history..
💯
It's an awesome watch..but damn that Glasshutte is to die for. Then again u got plenty left over for another sick piece, nice going!
I think you made a good choice. It’s a sharp looking watch
I couldn’t agree more! I actually have such a soft spot for breitling!
GET INNNNN!!! (Said wearing my Avenger GMT… SuperOcean 57 is next 😃)
Me too. Love Breitling
I have the chronograph version in blue and love it. I mostly wear it with a leather strap, which makes it a bit dressier but less bling.
Keep saving bro and when the timing is right treat yourself.
Same here..too much bling. Went for a Tudor instead :-)
Just grabbed mine and wow it’s gorgeous. Quickly becoming one of me favorites in my collection
It seems that everyone has a Seamaster 300M these days...I am not an Omega fanboy and I own one too 😁🤦♂️. If you want something different from what everyone else wears in that price range, this is an interesting option. It looks beautiful. Thanks for the video.

@@kevinp4305. I misunderstood. My apologies. I agree with you 100 percent.

I agree - the only thing I would change on this watch is the logo
The B logo is the original logo. Given this is a heritage diver the B logo is more accurate to its history. Dont mind the wings on the Navitimer since its aviator watch.
@@xchazz86 yes I know, but it looks shite compared to the winged B 😉 thanks for your comment 👍🏻
Nice review, Teddy, thank you. If they had another steel bracelet option than mesh, and somehow improved dial lume, I'd be seriously considering it. This SO Heritage is so close.
The rubber strap and clasp is great and makes this bad boy lighter. Try it on.
Yes! They have beautiful styling, but are too large. The oversized watch trend needs to die.
There’s a 38mm Superocean
@@marcd7332 most of the 38mm are discontinued...
Currently there’s only the pastel collection... not for everyone
Agreed they are too big. 38-39 mm is sweet spot.
Went for this cause I wanted something different to the BB and seamaster - great to see it getting some love. Opted for the two tone rose gold for that extra bit of bling and wear it everyday, couldn’t be happier.
What’s the reference number on yours?

Teddy. You videos are getting better and better. You are good in front of the camera and come off humble yet knowledgeable. Keep up the good work. Oh, and do a video on the JLC SECTOR dial!!!!
Ugh. Can we PLEASE STOP talking about Breitling & talk more about Rolex. Maybe the submariner. Thnx. 😜😜😜 (jk. This was perfection)
Shut up
I bought this watch 4 years ago however the date window is at the 3 position which I prefer. I think they changed this slightly after I purchased it. Great watch which is extremely durable and works well as dress or casual thanks to the bracelet
This is the heritage II which came on the market in 2017.
I have the black one and the Breitling design and looks is much much better than any Black Bay with the same movement.
I bought this in 42mm black dial with the Milanese bracelet but I swapped it over to a rubber ocean racer strap and I love it.
Simply beautiful and a more attractive piece aesthetically than both Tudor, Omega and Rolex for that matter. Definately my pick. Only criticism is the gap between the end link and the case. A curved end link would fit better.
I agree about the gap between the end link and case. It makes it look like the bracelet came from another watch.
I have a 46 Superocean and it is beautiful....so happy with it
Wow! In black on the metal bracelet it's a stunner! Nicest looking dive watch I've seen in some time! It's a strap monster too in my opinion!
In person it’s really good looking. Hard to appreciate fully in video
Noticed a 42 on the
street the other day,
= stunning crisp clean
simplicity.
I agree on the too big, too shiny recent past from Breitling, but still like the winged B.
Really enjoy your reviews, not a conflict of interest one bit.
That is a beautiful watch!
Beautiful watch, thank you for such in depth and fascinating reviews and spotlights.
Great review, Teddy! This is a nice piece that doesn't likely get the attention it deserves. This watch would easily fill the same space as an Omega Seamaster or Rolex Sub but it somehow doesn't get the respect that those pieces do.
Indeed, but the whole brand is suffering a bit right now. Hopefully the new owner can change that.
I agree. I feel it should.
I’m tempted to go buy this B20 in blue..
I do believe that the brand will return to we’re it was in the 90’’s early 2000.
Because its too shiny (like the new sub), because its too expensive, because some of the re-issues are only 100 meteres, because they have no real Ocean heritage (Kelly Slater no-withstanding) selling "Super" dive watches without a lume pip, rubbish loom generally.
I agree ! I think with time it will get the respect it deserves !
I tried this watch on a couple of weeks ago and I loved it the mesh bracelet is fantastic as well
ThanksTeddy, great video as always!
There is a 38mm model if you look online from the Mark 1 Superocean heritage
@@torontowatches9709 Really? Thanks for warning me. 38mm is the perfect size for my wrist.
In a world of submariner clones. Bought this one for its uniqueness and it has just the right amount of bling and amazing mesh bracelet. Highly recommend!
does it feel wearable for most circumstances? i’m thinking of getting it as a college grad gift (6.75 in wrist)
@@robbie154 thanks man! looking forward to getting the watch, have had my eyes on it for a while now
@@Ebombda12543 Happy for you! Can't go wrong with it. I'd recommend the 42 for your wrist size but feel free to try on the 44 too.
Just bought a black face with bronze accents. It is perfect as I wear gold rings.
I love this watch and the whole superocean collection. Well those 42/44 and below at least lol
Hey Blake you bring up a good point. Breitling has some of the most expensive straps/bracelets out there. It’s pretty bananas what they charge.
@@WatchUnwind absolutely. And for the clasps too. Must be some amazing margins lol.
@@BlakeC341 the clasp cost more than what I pod for my seiko alpinist
@@WatchUnwind yeah those prices are absurd and comical but it evidently comes with the territory in the luxury watch market. I've had a few other luxury watches that I wore and enjoyed for a few years but then sold and nearly recouped my entire initial principal. So worrying about service and replacement costs has never been of concern for me.
I have one and I must say it’s a very handsome sports watch.
Nice review Teddy, I just picked one up to add to the collection. I also have the 5 digit Explorer 2 like youself...keep up the great work
No video or image does it justice to just how shiny and nice it looks in person
Teddy, what do you think about new SuperOcean A17375? Never heard you talking about it but it is the watch that look totally different on wrist than in pictures???
you need to see these in person, real nice!
Agreed, look and feel great in person. People talk about grand seiko polishing but iv always thought Breitling has some of the most popping and well polished watches in person. If someone walks in the room with a Breitling you notice it immediately. Well us watch nerds do
If this came out in a 40mm size, the Tudor Black Bay 58 would have some serious competition.
What a beautiful watch
The Blue ones my favourite..
Prefer to the Tudor.
I’d love to see more videos on the navitimer and aviator collections!
Great Video Teddy, Breitling has been bringing the heat! 🔥
So now is my dream a Rolex Rootbeer GMT2 just because it’s a Rolex and quite pretty, maybe in 15 years then…
How big are the bracelets? I wear 7.75 inch, im hoping it fits on me
I plan to get this with a green dial on the bracelet. What a sticking watch
Agree, it's a timeless beauty.
Breitling’s new Colt 41 is also an overlooked watch imo.
Cool one as well. Just a overall cool brand people like to forget about
Teddy what would you prefer this Breitling or Luminor Panerai dive watch? If price was not an issue?
penerai is WAY overpriced I would recommend the breitling 😎👍
Not being able to get my hands on a Sub or any Rolex for that matter without paying ridiculous prices means I am likely to get another Breitling..
the brand itself is overlooked
Super good watch for the money❤
