ehhh... no. Most women dont care about what you drive. Sure there are some that do, most dont. married for 20 years and i met my wife in a pontiac grand am for example
Man this was just one of my favorite episodes of all time. Just classic in the old garage with the fam, you could do this exact episode 100 times a year and I’d watch every one.
lol, it probably feels to him like he has done this episode a 100 times already. but the entertaining way he talks while he works his magic on what i would have called a lost cause, keeps us folks wanting more
@@ViceGripGarage I think you solved the mystery of the watery engine yourself. The snow blows in, melts into the carb, and from there fills the engine with H2 whoa. Great vid really enjoyed this one.
Just another outstanding video. I love it when you wrench in your brother’s place, he and his garage are the genuine article. Frying sausage on the wood stove, home brew haircuts, old office chairs in the garage…puts a sentimental smile on my face. A guy can feel you’re at ease in your element, enjoying yourself with friends and family. Makes for an extra enjoyable watch. This one brought me back…
The revivals with Derek's brothers are my favorite. He's more relaxed visting family and working in the old garage. This was an amazing revival. Locked engine with ice in the cylinders, and locked rear wheels. Derek drives it over a 1400 miles home.
i'd reckon that years down the road that young feller might be asking some other little guy if he knows why they call that diff a 12-bolt, ha! 🦅🇺🇸 ✌️🐝➕
I've never forgotten the first time I changed sparkolators with my Dad. I've changed plugs a few times, forgotten most of 'em, but definitely not that first time
I really appreciate that too, long comfy videos like these are a rarity on youtube. Perhaps with the end of his TV/Streaming show, Derek will have more time for them now? (Dont actually know if it'll be continued, i just found out that it was effectively shut down alongside a few others)
Once again, you're making this Brit super envious of the lovely older square body trucks y'all literally have lying around - with big ol' V8s in them and everything. Thanks for taking us along for the ride, Derek. I love watching and listening along to your efforts.

@ViceGripGarage You inspired me to get an old 1983 Bullnose going with my 12 year old son. You should have seen the smile on his face when that straight 6 fired up!! This is a memory my son will always remember of me. And it's because of you. Thanks Derek
I will never get enough of these revival videos. Derek is just such a great example of what a human being should be. Also, what a beautiful Chevy, would love to have one of those old square bodies!
My Hero!!! 43 years old and Derek Bieri is my go to show! Have learned so much from this guy, and the best part is he makes it fun!!! Thank you for all you do!!!!
Derek as I write this, there are over 7,000 other comments so I know you'll never see it. But this video just stands out to me, along with another I watched recently where you got that Ford Grand Torino running right here in your brother's garage. This setting brings such good vibes of family, fun, learning, and the love of old cars. Thanks for doing what you do. This garage reminds me so much of my first garage.
Derek, i know you hate going back and working on 'stuck' vehicles in the snow. but if i may speak on behalf of most of your viewing audience: it's what got you noticed and built your fan base and really, it's what you do best. that's why we love watching you be awesome. thanks from a place just a little farther north than where you were.
My hometown is in SE Saskatchewan Canada, by google maps it is 136 miles NW from this location. There is so much here I can relate to. #1 is the satisfaction/relief of getting a broken frozen vehicle into a heated space and just letting it thaw out so that your digits aren't numb and your gonads aren't frozen together when you are trying to work on it.
@@lucaswelshmusic7607 I'm in the GTA in Ontario now. My colleagues seriously don't understand what cold and snow is. I haven't put on a Parka since I got here....
That scenery when you were first looking at the truck in that field was unbelievable. It looked like the coldest place on earth with rolling hills and snow and cold as far as the eye could see. The fact that you got it unstuck and were able to drive it 1500 miles is just remarkable. Thanks for the ride along
I never comment, I love your video and have been a follower for about a year now. The reason for my comment to is I lost my Grandfather last week the day before thanksgiving, and we had the service the day this video came out. He owned a 1979 GMC Heavy Half with the same paint job as this truck. Also had the AM/FM with CB radio. I miss him and that truck. This video really hit home. Thank you @VGG.
I saw your comment and wanted to offer my condolences. My dad passed away last year on the 28th of November. He had a stroke the day before Thanksgiving. One year later now I miss him a lot! My life isn't wrecked, but of course it's strange without him around. He used to have a '78 or '79 square body back in the late 90's. When my dad bought a '97 Chevy Z71 step-side he basically gave me the old square body! I had already driven that thing a lot before that and absolutely loved it! Can't remember if it was GMC or Chevrolet (basically the same). I will have another some day soon! There's lots of them all over the south.
Love the videos. Especially involving your brother. You don’t need a fancy shop to make it happen. Jessica sure is an Angel which allows you to do this and ultimately make us fans happy. Keep up the good work Derik.
@rustyfox887 I agree! Two tone or single tone either way! Those old square bodies are the best! We had about a '78 or '79 that was pale yellow with tan & brown interior. I loved that truck. A very strange situation led to us losing it. Too much get into but it was a hard time. I also had a 1980 Chevy custom van that had the coolest tinted side windows in the back. It had an Allen Bradley push button start, and the power windows on that rig were lethal! I lost that rig at the same time as the truck. Such is life!
I want to say thank you . I had surgery this morning (got three masses removed from my hat holder) but I have been waiting for the video to come out so I could watch it while recovering. I love what you do man please keep pushing forward and being the guy you are .
Seeing those roses brought back a memory, back when i was married i stopped at our local gas station and picked up a dozen roses since our wedding anniversary was the next day. Gave them to the wife when i got home and she loved them, couldn't say enough about them. Next she asked what kind of roses are these and I told her they are Amoco roses, and just where do you buy Amoco roses? And I replied at the Amoco station .😊
One of my new favorite episodes! My dad had that exact truck when I was growing up; it brought back a lot of memories. (Note: A road beer sits perfectly on that steering wheel.) I live in North Dakota and it makes me happy to see Derek out on the prairie with a little snow in the beard wrenching on an old truck in a tiny one stall garage, no lift, with bad lighting, and carbon monoxide poisoning. Good times. All the episodes with his brother are the best. If you have never watched the white Chevy S10 episode, thats another winter classic!
I do love it when you work with your brother and family. Reminds me of the oldies/goldies that drew me to this channel all those years ago. Thank you for your entertainment, love the old tricks/cars for sure
I bought a 1977 Bandit Trans Am with a seized motor for $400. I did the exact same thing , only i used PB Blaster. Emptied the can in all 8 cylinders, waited 3 hours , hooked uo 2 batteries in 'series' ( 24 volts) and cranked her right up. She ran like a sewing machine! Smooth , no ticks clicks or knocks. We appreciate your dedication to saving these precious pieces of history. Excellent Job !! I like your nicknames for parts too. Edle broke Quadra junk 😅😂❤ Btw , i only cranked it to free it up with the two batteries, then used 1 for the actual 'start' , didn't want to blow the guages. All Good !
@Vise Grip Garage my son is in Tennessee and turned me onto your videos and it has been an AMAZING Journey Thank you for everything you do in this community and family that watches.... ❤
1:43:42 I don't know why but watching that lil lad take the bolts out of that cover was awesome. This is how you nurture a kids interests ❤. One of a billion reasons VGG is in a class of its own ❤
Dude, that was one of your best! The beer boxes, the buffalo call, 1 cent slot machine, the nephew with the cordless drill, this one had it all, even flowers. Peace
I know I am not the only one to say, and as a Minnesota native and North Dakota alum, it sure is terrific to see a guy back in the beautiful north. Steam on the breath, not an ounce of sweat and nary an insect to be seen. Uffda, I miss Derrick's frozen field rescues! Hopefully, we can see a good ole snow mobile rescue, too 😊. I love this ❤.
This video made a fella feel all of his emotions (at least 3) , from seeing the flat plains with the blowing snow and remembering how cold it is, to hanging out in the shed with bro and his boys drinking wobble pops and eating sausage off the wood stove, to watching the young fella with squinty eyes,, to the road and the music and then seeing the flowers a fella bought his wife. Derick you are an absolute legend and I love your work all the way from AUS.
Hello! when i watch your videos i think of my uncle who died in 2006. he loved american cars, especially pickup trucks. He was a mechanic all his life until he died tragically in an accident.. I know if he had seen your videos he would have sat every weekend watching them. I think his is watching your videos in heaven with me! I grew up in his garage and I get such good feelings when I watch your videos. I am struggling with serious health challenges and have actually seen many of your videos in hospital when I have been there. Keep doing what you're doing! You touch the hearts of many in what you do! Greetings from Norway!
Derek, you and the kid on the differential.....golden! Sometimes kids listen and learn more from others than they do their own parents. I don't know why, it just happens. this was special to that boy and I'll bet he remembers it for the rest of his life. Good on you, Sir. Be safe!
You are one impressive and brave guy Derek! Not many people would drive 1500 miles on an engine that was locked up and had not ran in years! You have a real talent. thanks for sharing your adventures with us!!
What an adventure! Back in the early 90s I had a '74 Chev with a 350 so I can relate on the "never let you down" to get from point A to B. That was a great inspirational video. I watched it with my 12 yo grandson and he wants to tackle a similar project with me. You're a great role model Derek.
Good job Derek! I lost my wife of almost 30 years about 5 years ago. Glad to see you still have that spark with yours! She is a keeper! You have a great family Derek. Thank you for sharing with us. Love you man!❤
It's great to see Crang, always a blast seeing the interaction between you guys. Was surprised he was so chatty, I remember the silent Crang of the old days!
This was the best episode in a while, bud. Goes to show you that it really is Derek and his family that make these videos special and unique from other shows/channels. Thank you so much, Bieris!

Derek, I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for all the amazing content on Vice Grip Garage. I've been watching your videos for the last few years, and as a remote worker from Europe with a passion for American cars, your videos are the perfect escape during my breaks between calls. Your humor, expertise, and genuine love for classic cars make each video a joy to watch. I especially look forward to the revivals - they’re always so exciting and inspirational. Keep up the fantastic work, and know that your dedication and passion inspire fans from all over the world. Cheers to many more incredible restorations and adventures!
Long time listener, first time caller! I have a 68 C10 that loves frying plug wires on the header. eventually I got a pair of welding gloves with Kevlar lining and cut the fingers off covering the boot. its been a couple years since and haven't had the issue. I know its a little late but it might be a trick worth tucking in the ol sleeve!
Am I imagining it or was there an old VGG where Derek and Crang are each driving a truck somewhere, and Derek's one is struggling up hills and Crang is literally pushing him bumper to bumper 😂 I'm not even sure what I'm remembering but it's a hilarious memory (in my mind anyway)
I love this episode. Square bodies, family, run and drive. What more could a guy want? I’m really happy for you and your family for all the success with the channel. You all work so hard on it. It’s nice to see it all come together. You’ve been killing it for years now. Keep up the good work.
Always look forward to VGG Friday. It's awesome when you are 1 hour in and the engine is still somewhat locked up and you look down and still have another hour 45 left to go...can't get enough. Thanks for all you do for us fans Derek. Always entertained and always learning something.
Alot of fun thanks Dereck! I met you at Disneyworld in FLA like 5 years ago. Gave you a fist bump as you walked by. My wife was mad at me becuse I didnt ask you for a photo because you are my favorite show and I often imitate your catch phrases. I told her I not bothering the guy when he is with his family on vacation! Lol. Really enjoy the content. Kids love the episode when you burned your hand a little on a radiator cap and screamed “injury” “injury” ! Lol
Oh Yes! I live vicariously through you, I’m a Dying Cripple. You are Living your Best Life, I’m a Better Person for Having had Been a Part of the VGG Family from WAY, WAY , early on
Been watching it for a couple of years now Derek, my man you never stop making me laugh. Your spirit and your personality are unmatched. Keep them coming my favorite channel on RUclips.!😅
I taught Ag in Tioga, ND (next town west of Stanley) and we drove to Minot once a month to see civilization! Ha ha Not much between on either side of the road but wide open space - which kind of grows on ya! People are great in North Dakota!
@@flinty2 Knew a farmer just south of Stanley, and duck and goose hunted his land every fall, was stationed in El Forko Grande, my liver is still recovering. Great people, didn't take the key out of my pickup for 4 years, someone might need it, they'll bring it back. Woman behind every tree in North Dakota, all 10 of them.
My BFgoodrich KM3 where an absolute nightmare to balance.. I eventually swapped to maxxis razr and they were a LOT easier to balance and took a whole lot less weight
Derek, I really loved this episode. I myself have 5 brothers and the only thing I love more than turning wrenches is spending time with my brothers and their kids. You guys remind me so much of my own brothers, the humor and the garage hangouts. You guys rule!
Just wanted to give a thumbs up to the fact that alot of people would put their kids out... instead you invite them in with you and work along with you and learning first hand how to do wrenching....one of my fondest memories as a 6-7 yr old was working with my oldest brother on his 57 Chevy
Seeing the little lad there helping out with the diff bolts, well that brings back memories of my stepson when he was a youngster just 9 helping out around the farm. Now he's 27, a professional carpenter and house builder. Life is good when people can live simply.
Being a craftsman doesn't need to be simple at all. I started working with my 'ol Dad in 1962 at age 13. After highschool, very tired of the 'ol man on my hindside I went to work for a concrete contractor in 1970. Learned to be a finisher, started my own business in 1976. It housed and raised or family of 7 until I retired in 2001. Construction pay's pretty good so you're stepson is earning an honest living with his hands,, nothing could be more noble than creating something with your mind and hands that will stand for all to see and use for decades upon decades. We wish him a good life, he deserves it.
Derek, I'm loving the fact the fact that you put the youngster under the rear end. Thank you for teaching the kids. Appreciate you brother. You're a diamond.
I've watched VGG now for years, love the true american good ole boy reality. Your wife and family are all amazing parts of the show, you tank us all the time, but honestly, thank you for helping me believe there is still good people that share the same mentality as myself. Probably the fact were from the same part of the world. As far as the truck, leave it just the way it is. It would look perfect in my driveway if you need room. I'd love to have a going to town rig like that.
This one got me choked up. My first vehicle was an '84 Silverado two tone blue and silver and had those same wheels on it. Learned how to work on vehicles on that truck and before being forced to sell it over some very unfortunate circumstances I had rebuild everything on the truck minus the bottom end of the engine. Watching this brought back so many memories and I can only hope I can afford another one to build into what I dreamt my first one could have been.
Derek so glad to see you getting Family members to help you out. Family means a lot to a fella, Mine are not so close. The Silverado is one sweet looking unit not too much as far as weight reduction on it. Would like to see a guy get it all together and maybe let one of the boys have it when they get close to the age of getting behind the wheel.
Picked up a GMC pickup recently. The last time I owned one was right before the 1st kid 40 years go. Kids and trucks were not a good fit. Feels great to be back in the saddle again.
Something kinda cool is that “quality screens” was part of Quality Bumper I worked there for about 5 years and my wife’s uncle is one of the owners now but started working there in the 80’s Funny thing is that phone number is still the number to the Mesa location today!
I've been watching VGG since the early days, and seeing these classic garage sessions with family just hits different. Nothing beats seeing that light blue Cheyenne come back to life in the snow. Derek, your videos are pure gold - keep these genuine builds coming!
Oh brother man...I felt I was driving along with you ...thinking oh man are WE gonna make it to fuel up? She gonna break down here? there?! Lol man nonetheless it was a true pleasure to watch and learn on the way. Thank you for being yourself 🙏 and God bless you and your family! When you shut them down and part them on the hill, self tapper a soup can over the tailpipe or a plumbing no hub fitting, Many great memories from the passenger side in the back roads of Southern Virginia, dad made ever trip a great day.
Brought back great memories of an 87 I had back in the 90s. Had a slide on camper that we used often camping with the kids and hunting with the brother in-law.
When I was a kid I always looked forward to listening to the stories on the radio Friday nights... Now I'm loving watching the vice grip families videos every Friday evening! 🥰
Shoveled the driveway after a slow no-go-to-work morning and now I am watching on/off as I do inside chores. I agree with the many comments below, this is the content that is the best received. Hope y'all had a Merry Merry and Happy Happy!
I can barely tell one end of a truck from another. Always been that way. But I LOVED hanging out with my Dad, Uncle, brother and cousin that were all decent mechanics. I didn't learn much about mechanic-ing but sure learned plenty about everything else. Derek and his brother, some of his kids, hanging out and talking strategy, reminded me strongly of those times. Thank you!
I wish I had a reminiscent story of one of these great ol' American trucks.. You've made a man who appreciated American classics, into a man who loves these American classics.. All of that to say... I deeply appreciate these full length videos. The "full" video, of bringing back a wonderful old truck, that deserves a second chance at life, is extremely enjoyable to watch. The longer video, full of both the more mundane, along with the witty, humorous moments, helps a feller to really feel like he's there with you as he watches. It's as if I'm right there with you, during the project. Thank you Derek.
Spent a good part of my military career in Minot rippin around town in the mid 80's. Taco Johns race night! Local fella had a battry rigged up with tree lights and we'd go out on the back roads and race. Drove there in my first car, a 67 Camaro, then went to a 78 Firebird Formula 4 speed, a 61 GMC pickup, a 55 Chevy pickup, when I got out, I drove home (Ohio) in a 68 big block Corvette. Good times! Always a treat watching your videos Derek! Got my dad watching you now. He loves it. Brings back fond memories for him too!
Cool truck. Great episode, thank you. I drove from St. Albert Alberta Canada in March to Washington Iowa in a U-Haul full for 385 cast iron implement seats to sell at auction. I recognized some of the roads you travelled. Brought back some great memories. I powered through in 26 hours on Mars bars and cigarettes LOL! Keep it up. Currently playing with an 86 CJ7 that had the drivetrain rebuilt 25 years ago and it sat empty of any fluids so it took me a month of soaking and turning the motor over a 1/4 turn every day after soaking for two weeks. Removed all factory wiring, added MSD ignition and spark make it happener and she runs really good and making no suspicious noises. Drivetrain test next week.

Satan is referred to as the prince of the power of the air for good reason, he owns the airwaves on planet earth and is the god (little g) of this world. It is my hope and prayer that you choose the God (Big G) of heaven who controls the destiny of your eternal soul.

(Matthew 10:28 > And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.)
(Proverbs 9:10 > The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.)
(2 Corinthians 4:3-4 > [3]-But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
[4]-In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.)
(Romans 10:9-10 > [9]-That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

@ViceGripGarage
You inspired me to get an old 1983 Bullnose going with my 12 year old son. You should have seen the smile on his face when that straight 6 fired up!! This is a memory my son will always remember of me. And it's because of you. Thanks Derek

I just started shopping when It dropped. Came home through everything in it's spot. Jumped right in.😂
I will never get enough of these revival videos. Derek is just such a great example of what a human being should be.
Also, what a beautiful Chevy, would love to have one of those old square bodies!
You’re a good Dad,Derek. Teaching that boy. It does my heart good to see it! Reminded me of me and my grandpa.
“ Gotta Feel For It “ as Derek slowly turns and looks at camera. I spit my coffee out. Hahahaha. Love it
I noticed the look.

Can you imagine how many dads and uncles had to explain that one to their young protege s?

So good to see a guy spending quality time with his brother and nephews up north. Also that truck is a peach and I’m a blue oval guy!

Over 500 videos and this is the most heartwarming show...it's all about family...Derek is the pided mechanic piper...
He is special and you can tell so are his friends & fam.
The Pied Piper used music to lure rats to their death. I'm really not following your analogy here.
@@upscaleshack people follow... you are not clever and argumentative but, it's ok your mother still loves you!
Northern Sask guy here. Been there done that as well.
Central Florida guy here .... We have the opposite when we get to work on a car in the shade or in Air Conditioned space lol

Sorry for your loss!
@@allthings2allmen thank you and sorry for your loss
I don’t disagree with what you said but who are you saying it to or did I miss someone saying they messed up?
@@bgarmstrong1446 I was gonna say the same.
Love the videos. Especially involving your brother. You don’t need a fancy shop to make it happen. Jessica sure is an Angel which allows you to do this and ultimately make us fans happy. Keep up the good work Derik.
old 2 tone squarebodies are some of the best looking trucks IMO.
Had a brand new one in '76 like this, and now if in great shape, go for triple or quadruple what I pad for my new one now, in used condition.
I used to see them everywhere as a kid. Sadly they mostly rotted up here in the rust belt
This color is legendary. I'm so jealous
Yep. Drove my wife's inherited 84 c10 silverado today. Longbed. Light blue and white 2 tone dual gas tank. 😅
I kept a Coleman cooler on the transmission hump- it fit perfect 😊
I do love it when you work with your brother and family. Reminds me of the oldies/goldies that drew me to this channel all those years ago. Thank you for your entertainment, love the old tricks/cars for sure
I'm glad I started watching Derek before he moved. I like to see 'the old stomping grounds' and family too!

Wow, just great with the boys! They will remember that when they get old and smile. These little moments are so precious in everyone's life.
Good to see a good old fashion "will it run and drive home" video.
Nice! The original and the best.
Finally! A good ol Revival Roadtrip... this was so much fun! Thank you VGG.
PS.... Who felt a little bummed we didn't get to see em repair the fence?
Picked up a GMC pickup recently. The last time I owned one was right before the 1st kid 40 years go. Kids and trucks were not a good fit. Feels great to be back in the saddle again.
Something kinda cool is that “quality screens” was part of Quality Bumper I worked there for about 5 years and my wife’s uncle is one of the owners now but started working there in the 80’s

I can barely tell one end of a truck from another. Always been that way. But I LOVED hanging out with my Dad, Uncle, brother and cousin that were all decent mechanics.
I love it when you revive these old square bodies Derek. I think this rig is a keeper buddy.
