I dunno… when he did the collaboration with Jared, Jared was trying to imitate Derek’s humor the whole time, and that just didn’t work for me. I’m not saying Tavarish would copy Derek’s style, but, I watch every car RUclipsr for their own quirks and features ;)
Too true mate, he is so good to watch! His success might come from his hard work but he would be no where near as popular without his personality and down to earth nature. We all love Derek over here in Australia too.
There's a reason VGG has 1.6 m subscribers. He has not slacked off of trying to top HIMSELF over and over. Bless you and Jessica and the children. You restore my faith in the youth of America.
Sam - for as much as "they" want you to believe otherwise and as much as it serves their purpose for you to lose hope, you are totally correct to have your faith renewed. Our country is full of great folks, young ambitious patriotic people who care about making the world better, not burning it down. My young nephew Max is a hard charging US Army Combat Engineer Sergeant who loves his country and takes his job very seriously. He doesn't make excuses for himself, he takes care of all the guys in his fire team and his dedication to duty also keeps my hope for the youth of America alive. Yes, things are far from perfect but we both know it's not hopeless, brother.
What's the reason? I just found the channel but no way in hell I'm subscribing if it takes 2 freaking HOURS to find out the answer to if the truck made it or not. HARD PASS. All it tells me is that there are 1.6 million lazy idiots out there who need to get a better "hobby" than watching videos all day.
WHen you have a winning formula, why mix it up. I like that it is simple, no fancy editing or slick music. It's still homebrew like the first personal computers and not much is these days.
This two hour blockbuster is better than 99% of the garbage that's come out of Hollywood in the last ten years. Tinseltown has completely lost the ability to bring the thunder....but Derek hasn't. Another episode that completely kicks ass. Thanks brother!
I’m a 66 yr old grandma and I really enjoy seeing our beautiful country through the windows of the vehicle you bring back to life! I get so tired of seeing all the bad news on tv , so I pull up one of your videos and everything is okay in the USA! Love to you and God Bess!
Derek is one of the few people in the world who could make a fella spontaneously see a RUclips video as long as the average movie and say "Yep, Watching it."
I dont know how but I enjoy watching these 1.5 -2h long revival videos without skipping a beat despite never being able to watch a regular movie in one sitting. You've got some incredible skill in telling a story on these rigs that just keeps a guy entertained the whole way through. Thank you!
Is it me or do these videos keep getting better and better?? Im so glad i subscribed years ago. Seeing these old units go on one more adventure especially with Derek is something special.
For sure! VGG has been in the weekly routine for years now and instead of getting old, it's always just another day hanging out with a true friend of the people!
@@ViceGripGarage The videos are second to none. See if you can score that 77 or 78 Cougar XR7 or Thunderbird that is under the tarp next to where you loaded the camper onto the back of the truck. Those are fantastical vehicles.
Watching Derek's uploads on a Friday night is like watching a college finals football game. You know it's coming and you know it's going to be good. I appreciates you Derek! Thank you for making my long week worth it
Thank you Derek! long time fan I remember one of my favorite moments was when one of the kids picked up a snake I believe it was the Cadillac video but man I sure enjoy ALL your videos I’ve not missed an episode:) hope to see you at LS FEST!
Been watching VGG for around 5 years now. Still just as excited for an upload notification as years ago. Don’t change Derek; keep up the great work and solid content. 🍻
Next time, use a lubricant other than WD-40 like tri flow that doesn’t burn like WD-40 does with alcohol that there are many lubricant that don’t use alcohol in them TriFlow is the best
@@ViceGripGarage Iowa is a rough state to get vehicles in and if ya ever need a 65 C20 hit me up if a guy could fix the hydroboost brakes in my 98 he could drive the 65 home
@@don-rw9ef it's not that bad in the middle of a snow storm we went out to a salvage yard at midnight and cut 1 out while a friend pushed the 1 an owl came through out and vacuumed glass and put the seal and locking strip in a bucket of hot water by 1220 we had the windshield in the midnight parts shopping took longer than removal cleanup and installation
A tip taught to me about 50 years ago by an old brake tech: to get the old seal out without damaging it, remove the nut, washer, and outer bearing. Then put ONLY the nut back on the spindle shaft. Now, apply some downward pressure on the rotor or drum and quickly snatch it off the spindle. The downward pressure keeps the nut from going through the inner bearing. The nut will catch the inner bearing which will catch the seal all the way around removing it completely undamaged. I have reused dozens of seals with no problems.
Damn, I used to get nervous driving a newer car without a valid inspection for a couple days.. VGG is the hero we all need. I’ve been watching for years now.
And the states that do inspections actually see zero benifit safety wise on the road. No scientific data backs up inspections saving lives 😂 it’s honestly just a money grab
That's just plain ridiculous how nice the interior was compared to the exterior. I mean, it really was jaw dropping. Other than the little split of the seat, it is just immaculate. What a score
@@ChrisCarpenter-d5e same with the rotbird Iowa uses salt and calcium chloride I've seen 2010 and newer trucks rotted that bad or worse because of the thinner metal they use
I found your channel last night and it took me down memory lane. What an awesome video! My grandpa ordered a 1977 F-150 Custom 4x4 in the fall of 1976 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He had a camper on it for 30 years before retiring it as his hunting/camping truck. I am now the steward of this truck and will continue to love it and care for it so I can hopefully pass it on to my grandchildren one day.
I don't think I've ever seen Derek looking and sounding more miserable before, but happily things began looking up once on the road. You're a fighter, Derek!
Seriously. I was like damn, I hope he’s not getting burned out… I don’t know how he doesn’t to be honest. Guy’s a machine! New video every Friday, never misses a single one. He obviously loves what he does though, and we love watching him do it 🫡
That was possibly one of the best revivals I have seen, so much work , so much patience. and so much fun, thanks mate , there is a reason your channel is so popular, and you and your family are it ,, cheers mate
Derek. You bring a lot of happiness to a lot of fellers and felletts. We're fortunate to watch a Legend in the making during our lifetime. Bless you and your wonderful family and Thank You for the experiences!
This is in so many ways unimaginable to do here in Germany, I would love to visit the US to go on such an adventure trip. And if I learnt something from your videos, it's to plan your route along O'Reilly stores.
Yup, most states don't have safety inspections. And emissions testing a vehicle only has to meet the standards of its production day. And it's not irresponsible. Back in the 80s studies were done to see if safety inspections had reduced the amount of accidents and all the data showed they hadn't. All it was doing was creating a revenue stream for state governments and taxing citizens. Germany a bit different with access to unrestricted speed (or at least use to be) roads.
@@Cragifiedit’s a shame for us here in the uk , so many police and zero parts stores , you cannot drive any vehicle unless it’s had an inspection (MOT) some are exempt but if you are found with rust it’s classed as unroadworthy. Say you have 4 tyres below 1.6mm of tread you would receive 3 penalty points on your drivers license per tyre , 12 points = a ban from driving anything for a year .
Even here in Europe in the inspections the Cars have to meet the standards of their production date! How they would meet later ones😂?? i dont know what you are referring and my job as mechanic Is also to do said bi-annual inspections! besides, our system requires only the bare minimum to not have deathtraps on the Roads, the inspection Is basic, half and hour every 2 Years, we look lights, tyres, brake test, no "visibile" rust holes and gas test for the catalytic vehicles, nothing absurd, and Is done by an authorized mechanic shop for the state, not by some beaurocrat Bully! usually we are very comprensive of what Is real safety hazard and what Is not! nobody inspect your car here in Italy before they are sure It can pass so you dont have to pay 2 times, we look It, fix It then It would pass the only downside Is the cost of 70 euros(excluding eventual repairs) for it but the state have to make sure people maintain their vehicles or It would be a disaster
Anyone can do it here. I met a man named Ranier that was driving around western Canada camping in a rental. He was a banker from Zurich. Seemed to be having fun. We talked all night. I will never forget him and that was 35 years ago
Best show ever! Hauling even a newer RV can bring a strong man to his knees but Derek patches up an old 60 year old pickup and makes it all work. These shows are good for the soul. Many thanks!
Your real life renditions without cutting the challenging parts is what makes your channel unique. Please keep up the shtick and you funny humorous comments. 2 hours of sheer goodness, I am considering upping my membership.
Back in June, i flew from my home in Alaska to Denver to pick up a 1973 f250 that had been sitting for at least 10 years and drive it back to Alaska. 2,408 Miles!! All original 390 with c6 automatic tranny. I broke down in Utah, Portland OR, Hope BC and in the middle of nowhere in BC Canada, but it made it home! Oh, and I picked up a 20 ft car hauler trailer in Portland, loaded it with about 7,000 LBs and towed it the rest of the way. After I pulled it in my driveway and parked the trailer, it wouldn't start again until i replaced the starter and adjusted the points and timing. Was an awesome trip with my brother. Learned alot and had tons of fun. it was actually on this trip someone told me about your channel. Great stuff, by the way. You learn more broke down on the side of the highway than you would in a shop for sure!! Im 24 years old and i love the challenge of old vehicles!!
What I love most about your videos is life is about the journey. All the spontaneous stops along the way make the memories. That's how we roll too on a road trip. This F250/camper combo is how my late father loved to travel. Thanks for the memories, Derek! Very much appreciated. Keep on rollin'!
just wanted to let u know. you saved me money today. my 97 mustang's starter acted up and the solenoid was stuck. after jacking this car up andsetting safty stands i grabbed a hammer and gave the starter a couple of love taps. after setting mustang down, connrcted battery. turned key she started. ran like dream. saved about $450 bucks not including labor. thanks. luv your videos. thanks. Ron
these are the only RUclips videos that ill watch for 2hrs, great content and Derek is just so likable , it's easy to spend part of my day off enjoying VGG
I have decided to not only work on vehicles vicariously through you Derek, but now I can save on traveling and sight seeing too! LOL But seriously, thank you for taking us with you through this - your most recent adventure. It's amazing what you're capable of, and entertaining at the same time. Never change.
Dad had a 1972 Ford F100 short bed back in the '80s as his vehicle, it became mine when I got my license in 1989 put many miles on it. Brings back good memories. It has been setting 30 years, I keep thinking about restoring it.
It's a shame how rotten and rusted these trucks get. The bed sides are shot so I'm unsure how it's holding that camper and the front inner fenders are so bad I dunno how they stayed on. I live and breathe Gm and lord knows they certainly arent free from the ravages of rust
I log into RUclips and see a VGG video, and I smile. Then I look and see that its a little over 2 hours long, and I'm freakin ecstatic! Awesome! Thank you so much Derek! Love going on these weekly adventures with you and your amazing family! I hope VGG goes on for generations!
Derek, another excellent video as always. Been watching your channel for years and have been hunting for a car like my dad had in high school for many years. Luck finally shined on me a few weeks ago. Found a '61 Ford Falcon 20 miles from me. Good body, 58k original miles, lots of new parts, just needs work on the Ford O Matic. Your videos have inspired me and now that Falcon is in my garage ready to wrench on! Just need to get my learn on with a FOM!
I won't sell my old ford truck because my dad rode with me in it. Sure do miss him.I can still see him sitting over there with his arm out the window. Love you dad.
I still have my dad's old 57 f100 with the air-cooled auto transmission and 292 y block.. Was the first vehicle I drove and took my driving test in the 80s. Drove it to work when a teenager. He parked it in garden for 25 years. After he passed. I went out to fire it up. Brakes were out. It smokes. Think valve guide seals crumbled away. Trans leaks like a sieve. But it drove out of garden to back of garage. Had more fun in that truck than my Dad knew. 😉 Time to pop in a newer 302 or 351 and Trans. Would like to keep the 292 and air-cooled fmx Trans. But they need rebuild. Going on a pallet for next owner after I tip over if they want to put them back in.
I love the 70's and early 80's Ford F series trucks. My first truck was an '81 Ford F100 Custom, with a 300ci straight 6 and a 3 speed column shift. Loved that truck. It's still in running condition as well with almost no rust.
I'm really enjoying this program of the Friday videos. Nothing like a cold beer and a VGG video after a long week of work! And remember, we do what we do, for the love of the machine. Well done Derek!
Derek, rally great video and brought back memories. My parents purchased a '72 F-250 in the same lime green in 1972 (I was 10) with the 360 and a 4spd. No power steering. Spent countless hours staring over that hood as a kid, took my drivers' test in it on a snowy winter morning. You really helped me with a 'bucket list' item here, as I always wanted to drive that truck again as an adult, and you took care of that for me! The video took me right back. It was the little things that struck me; the distinct sound that the door latch makes when you opened the door, the red brake light on the lower dash illuminating when you turned the key, the sound of the starter, the click that the wiper switch makes. I remember them all. The white headliner, the rubber grommets high on the inside of the cab corners behind your head as you drove. They all just hit me. Thanks for this - great video, really enjoy your work. Tough old truck.
Did a trip to Dodge City, Mount Rushmore, Custer state park, Deadwood, and Devils tower back in July with my dad, because he had never been to that part of the country. He will be 80 this Friday, and he is still talking about that trip. Best thing I ever did for him.
Love love love these longer videos! I've known a lot about engines and working on vehicles over the years but, I've learned SOOO much more than I ever have since watching (mainly) this and other's channel! Thanks Derek for sharing your knowledge with us and I can't wait for the next one! 💙👊🏼
Never had a doubt in my mind that you wouldn't have made it. That old Ford just didn't want to die, it just wants to keep on living even with all that rust. Great job Derek you're a master genius with these revivals.
This has been my favorite of all the "will it run" videos that you've done in a while. Something about the work you had to do, the camper you put on it and the final destination made it a special episode. I'm shocked that the extra weight of the camper didn't cause the whole truck to collapse or break in half. You are the best, keep it up!!!
1:33:03 yep. Chad and Alex. thank you gentlemen!! we appreciate ya hosting our guy! yall are AWESOME! ifn ya ever need a doodad smithed let a fella know if be happy to help as my small way of saying thank you for YEARS of helping our hero Derek!
Derek your dedication to making these videos for us you go above and beyond what could ever be expected from everyone. Thank you for the years of great entertainment and information you and your wonderful family has given us. We look forward to many more years of great content.
Derek, this episode was very emotional like for me. Let me explain my grandfather had that same exact truck, identical, same engine same everything I used to help him work on it. That was the vehicle that he used to teach me stuff whenever he was doing repairs I was right there. Literally 3-4 years old up until I was 12 years old. I would always help him work on the truck and every weekend I would sweep it out and wipe the dash and the door cards down. He passed away when I was 13 years old left the truck to me my father brought it home And let it sit in the driveway. One day I came home from school and the truck was gone. My father proceeded to tell me that somebody stole it. I was heartbroken. That was the only thing I had left for my grandfather fast forward 10 years later when I’m 23 I see the truck, it was at an uncle‘s house that we did not associate with rotted into the ground completely destroyed mind you I lived in Florida as a kid that humidity down there just kills a Ford. My uncle proceeded to tell me that my father gave him the truck because he wanted it out of his driveway because he was sick at looking at it, long story short this episode brought back a lot of memories a lot of feelings a lot of emotion thank you thank you for everything that you do and you will never understand how immensely you have inspired me to do what I do and to build my channel as well. We all love you and I know I’m speaking for everyone of us that are subscribed and watch your videos. You and your family and your values are exponentially infinite God bless you my brother.
Love those old Ford FE engines. I had a 1964 full size Mercury that had a 390. At 160k miles I put a new oil pump, main bearings and rear main seal in it. After that, the motor ran so smooth and quiet you couldn't tell it was running. Thank you for your pluck and confidence. God bless you
Just finished watching this episode. Just blends everything that’s important to me. Autos, archaeological finds, and road trips mixed with just a hint of sarcasm. To take that rig to Mount Rushmore takes “courage”. Will be watching many more. Thanks for the adventure.
I just saw a guy's O'Reilly's commercial and a single tear fell from my eye. I started falling this channel back in 2019 and I'm happy to see your success. 🎉 Much deserved
I can’t tell you how much I appreciate and enjoy your time. Your videos are always a fantastic experience, especially the long ones. I enjoy getting to ride along through some of the best looking countryside in the world, and hangout with friends. Thank you for all of your hard work, God bless you and your family!
I had a 71' Ranger XLT with a 360 ci in it. Funny fact. If you turn the 4ways on, press the brake and hold it, them put the gear shift in N - The radio will play w/o the key... I think... It's been 40 years ago.
Honestly Derek I cried a little when you got to Rushmore, what an amazing adventure and how amazing an old Ford can still due what she was built to do. When I was a teenager my family pulled a camper to the black hills with an early 70's F-250 Camper Special, man this trip brought back memories. My first truck was our farm truck, a 1976 F-150 4x4, I really miss those old trucks.
Dude me too. I'm from Canada and did this trip with my family when I was a wee one. I also bought myself a 72 f100 out of a field and booted it all over Canada. I recently let it go and this episode tugged all the nostalgia between the truck and family. Something about old Fords eh
Man, Derek, I know this one was stressing you out like crazy. Just wanted to let you know we appreciate all the sacrifices made by you and your family to bring us such great entertainment. Keep on truckin!
I’m 36 and know nothing about cars but your dry humor and explanations of everything make these videos my absolute favorite thing to watch at night. I am now shopping for my first classic car to wrench and learn on. (Any suggestions? Thinking a g body might be easy-ish to get into) Im absolutely hooked. Thank you and please never change.
A 70s style Ford truck like in the video is a great choice to begin with because the old Ford engines are amazingly reliable and easy to work on. Especially because there is so much room under the hood to get around the engine. I have a 1973 F250 Ranger and it is a fun vehicle to work on, learn on and drive around.
The money shot to this Classic Ford Truck & camper was when you parked by that corn field adjacent to the roadway. What adventure from start to finish, Thank you Derek. You are much appreciated.
Dads 64 galaxie had sat since 2016 when I inherited it early this year. Brakes wouldn’t bleed, after bench bleeding master and replacing front soft lines & wheel cylinders. Still nothing. Distribution block was $230, power disc conversion kit was $700. Went with the conversion. 3 months later and brakes are still soft but can bleed, but now there’s grinding coming from the drinkers side. Still a working progress. The fact that this truck was able to be revived in this time… Epic.
Omg 2hrs. Finally a VGG Movie. Truly making life entertainment worthwhile. Who here believe wholesome content like this is better than any movie or football or baseball game. I certainly do. God bless america and god bless the VGG family.
What a cool ol’ Ford and destination! I visited Mt. Rushmore a few years ago and I was amazed at how much I was awe inspired by it! Thank you, Derek, for the reminder!
What a great revival this was!! Talk about a battle the whole way thru, but just like always the man pushed it as far as humanly possible all the while trying out some new things he hadn't done before!! (The camper) You truly are an inspiration and I CANT WAIT TO SEE YOU IN BRISTOL!!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Derek, I can be having a rough day at work (and for cops, when its a rough day its a REALLY rough day, ) and then I watch your channel and somehow I go back to work with a smile on my face. Thank you Sir!
Thanks for this video, Derek. This spring, I inherited a 72 Lime Green F250 Sport Custom that had been parked 15 years ago; a lot more miles on it but a lot less weight reduction, lol. I knew he'd said something about a bad wheel bearing and rotor. I was surprised by how easily I could get the engine up and running after watching some of your "will it run" videos; she just needed a new fuel pump, fuel line, and a tune-up. But man, the dump truck brakes!! I battled for hours ripping them off a couple months ago, and between that frustration and the cost of the new parts, I put everything on hold, but watching this motivated me to finally place the parts order today. Looking forward to restoring the old grasshopper to her former glory.
Thank you for these revivals! I can tell you love this country as I do when you take in those gravel roads and look at the farmlands. I'm 72 ,so I can relate a little more of how much it's changed. Let's hope we can save it for the next generation.
There will come a day when your videos will be regarded as national and historical treasures. I cant tell you how much I truly appreciate what you do. Thank you for another great adventure.
I was thinking perhaps you could have the camper painted or cleaned up and add some wheels that matches the camper color to the truck, I'm talking some really cool custom wheels and tires that goes with the camper look and be the first to have a old custom camper with custom wheels that looks badass , but do leave the truck as is far as the paint patina, like perhaps getting the camper done with a custom allow wrap , then get some nice allow custom wheels that looks good, get all the new LED lights all around the camper that looks real good at night, but yeah get a cool allow looking wrap done to the camper to bring out the look with color changing lights all around the camper , a cool light mild flowmaster sound to the exhaust, not nothing loud or to aggressive, just a nice clean smooth sounding one...
Man Derek! My hats off to you! I would NEVER attempt what you did!!!!!!! My anxiety kicked in just watching you, so glad you made it! Thank you for a trip down memory lane. My Mom and Dad and I made the trip from eastern Wisconsin to Mt. Rushmore back in 1977 in our 1971 Mercury Monterey sedan. I was 12 at the time. Saw the Corn Palace, Wall Drug and Mt Rushmore as well as a ton of old car museums. Seeing them here brings back a lot of great memories, but it sure does make me miss my Mom and Dad. Thanks again!
As a local, it was a good bit of fun seeing where all of your stops were. Looked like Omaha, Onawa, Beresford, Sioux Falls, and Mitchell (and all the other places you drove through, of course).
What an adventure. The crazy thing is the interior of the truck is so clean, the hood and the roof too. Even the engine held on but from there the body and other parts was pretty much downhill. Thanks for bringing us along.
It amazes me that these vehicles can sit for 20 years and then they do 100s of miles like they where just parked yesterday. They dont make them like they used too. I just cant get enough of these revive and drives. P.s. I grew up driving Fords just like that.
I love how when Derek was passing the corn palace the family walking was all staring at Wylo wondering how its even running down the road. Then when he was in the parking lot of mt Rushmore there were a bunch of nice motorhomes and ......... Wylo! 😂😂😂 Great job on another great revival.
How about getting the camper wrapped in a nice clean looking allow looking color , then put some cool badass custom wheels and white letter tires on it... I would thank you and God to own that beautiful representation of what was and still is so nice to have....
2 hours works for me! I think this amount of time lets a feller tell the full story without rushing and leaving anything out. This rig turned out great and I'd say you really got a nice rig now! Maybe a little shine juice, a few license plates, and possibly a new sleep mat and you're good to go!
Awesome! I just finished restoring a 1970 truck camper and nearly rebuilt a 2008 GMC Sierra with 290k miles and I wouldn’t yet trust it to go 800 miles! You are an inspiration and I enjoy your videos.
I spent a couple of family vacations in a camper and Ford truck just like that. As a kid, loved riding up on the bed above the cab. Ours was in a little better shape but not much. That 76,000 miles must have all been in the Iowa snow. Salt takes a huge toll around here. Thanks for taking us along on your journey. I enjoyed every minute. Love the longer content and thanks for visiting our state again. Glad to hear you are filming more Roadworthy Rescues. Can't wait!
Great trip big fella, was nice to travel with you. My old man bought a F250 in '72, brand new with a 300ci motor. He traveled all of Australia with it delivering boats and caravans, never going over 50mph. Fantastic truck in them days. Look forward to more trips ...
Things came full circle for me. I watch Derek and his channel made restoring vehicle seem easy and gave me to confidence to buy an old 70' F250 and next thing I know he makes a video about it. Having a great night watching this! Cheers
Restoration is alot harder and more expensive than revival sometimes a restoration isn't worth it because you can end up sinking more money into it than it's worth and right now patina is the big craze so a revival and maybe a refresh of engine/trans seems to be the way to go if you have a solid body and chassis
My guy, I just sold my 72 F1 (tangerine dream) this fall and havent regretted it until you fired up the green bean. They are such great trucks, so simple and tough. Thanks for the episode!
I grew up near Mt Rushmore, now live in the northern hills, and drive my bump-side trucks as daily drivers. I never doubted that truck would make the trip. If I had known you were in the area, I would have tagged along in one of the high-boys. Without a doubt, ford trucks of the Late 60's and early 70's are some of the very best machines to ever roll off an assembly line. Simple, tough, reliable, beautiful, American made by Americans. My favorite Bump-side is my 1967 F-100 2WD, that I have had since 1985, now with over 400,000 miles on it. Though unrestored, It still gets compliments nearly every time I drive it. It makes me smile inside every time I look at it. What saddens me the most, is to see how many people put up with the late model stuff. Thanks for putting a smile on my face. Is your truck for sale?
Been watching your channel now for a couple of years. Always entertaining! You said in this video that you couldn't remove one of the old front wheel seals because "it would be ruined." I've been salvaging wheel seals for over 50 years using a technique my dad taught me when I first got my first car. All you need to do is remove the outer bearing and hardware and then put the bearing nut back on to full thread engagement. Then grab drum or rotor and pull it toward a little bit so the inner bearing drops down and slides on the spindle shaft. Then in a swift and forceful movement, jerk the drum/rotor off the spindle making sure you keep it in contact with the spindle shaft. What happens is that when nut hits the bearing, all the force/momentum transfers to the inner part of the seal and dislodges it from its bore. Voila, no damage!
Love that you are still doing these, this one seems to be one of your greatest adventures yet. Its great to see the highways of the USA from your point of view, this was a great adventure and thanks for sharing.
A blast from the past! My gpa had a bunch of these, my fav was the 250 reg cab short bed , 5 speed manual. Loved it. He basically gave it away. This was before the pandemic
You are a national treasure.
You need an episode with VCC coming over to rescue an exotic. I would laugh my arse off at the commentary.

This two hour blockbuster is better than 99% of the garbage that's come out of Hollywood in the last ten years. Tinseltown has completely lost the ability to bring the thunder....but Derek hasn't. Another episode that completely kicks ass. Thanks brother!
Are you on drugs?
I’m a 66 yr old grandma and I really enjoy seeing our beautiful country through the windows of the vehicle you bring back to life! I get so tired of seeing all the bad news on tv , so I pull up one of your videos and everything is okay in the USA! Love to you and God Bess!
Derek is one of the few people in the world who could make a fella spontaneously see a RUclips video as long as the average movie and say "Yep, Watching it."
Never thought of it like that but it's true.
HAHAHA, I know, right?
On point
Who needs movie ⭐️ I watch on and off with my husband. I actually learned a few things about all vehicles.
Thank you!
I dont know how but I enjoy watching these 1.5 -2h long revival videos without skipping a beat despite never being able to watch a regular movie in one sitting. You've got some incredible skill in telling a story on these rigs that just keeps a guy entertained the whole way through. Thank you!
I pay for YT premium basically just to watch this guy ad free 😂
Indeed.
Help me understand 😅😂😅
That camper looks like you could hold some deja vu girls AND GET U. A little tickle tickle 😬👌👌
Is it me or do these videos keep getting better and better?? Im so glad i subscribed years ago. Seeing these old units go on one more adventure especially with Derek is something special.
Appreciate you hanging around!

This guy is a great mechanic, and his terminology is GENUIS!!
Been watching VGG for around 5 years now. Still just as excited for an upload notification as years ago. Don’t change Derek; keep up the great work and solid content. 🍻
Appreciate you!
Same. Loving the long vidjas too
Man new parts turning out to be bad really grinds a fellas gears, I'm glad I'm not the only one noticing it.
Next time, use a lubricant other than WD-40 like tri flow that doesn’t burn like WD-40 does with alcohol that there are many lubricant that don’t use alcohol in them TriFlow is the best
The joy I feel every time I see that a new VGG episode has dropped cannot be understated.
I get excited when a run and drive episode drops.
Same here I'm only 32 but I've learned alot from this man. Alot
I feel it too, and I'm just a sixty years old woman from Poland, I love this channel, Mr Derek is wise, funny and I love what he does with cars.

Most states don't require inspections fyi
And the states that do inspections actually see zero benifit safety wise on the road. No scientific data backs up inspections saving lives 😂 it’s honestly just a money grab
Inspection?
That's just plain ridiculous how nice the interior was compared to the exterior. I mean, it really was jaw dropping. Other than the little split of the seat, it is just immaculate. What a score
I bet they salt the roads pretty good during the winter there. That's what ate that truck up like that

2 hours with Derek and a nice truck. My day just got better.
I believe a lot of the misery is from the heat & humidity !
Seriously. I was like damn, I hope he’s not getting burned out… I don’t know how he doesn’t to be honest. Guy’s a machine! New video every Friday, never misses a single one.
He obviously loves what he does though, and we love watching him do it 🫡

Its possible in Sweden

This really was one of the best videos/revivals you ever did. What a journey. What a truck.
I agree 👍
Or what’s left of it!
Great truck to make that journey, but I wouldn’t let my dog sleep in that camper👍

You sure that is an FMX trans in that? Those were usually a Ford-O-Matic in those.....
Thanks!

I love the trouble shooting and constant problem solving involved in riding with Derek! Thanks for the adventure!
You are a master mechanic Derek. You know everything about getting a vehicle up an running to get you going to where you need to go.
Derek is so cool, he actually sends us back into time when those vehicles were built, thanks Derek !!!

Wylo! 😂😂😂

I'm really glad you're doing this again Derek. I know it's rough with family and obligations. But it's the bread and butter of the channel.
My guy, I just sold my 72 F1 (tangerine dream) this fall and havent regretted it until you fired up the green bean. They are such great trucks, so simple and tough. Thanks for the episode!
the best when gas were cheap but great fun😅
