The simplistic idea that the sole purpose of a watch is to be an expression of affluence (and that affluence = virtue and class) is the most unattractive thing about watch fandom. Kudos for combating that mindset.
Love these “oldies” within your videos - no fancy intro, simply a nice cup of coffee and watch relaxation. Doesnt get any better,, and it lowers my blood pressure....😉👍
I bought mine this weekend , was saving up for a speedy professional but with me being 18 i didnt want to have such an exspensive watch and the reduced fits my wrist a lot better.
Watched this older video for your take on Speedmasters. Always informative, but what really made my day is that you chose JS Bach's opening aria of the Goldberg Variations, transcribed for guitar, to start the video. You, sir, are pure class!
You are the only person on youtube whose intro I watch. You were my start to my love of watches. I truly believe you have one of the best channels on youtube. Thank you for producing a high-quality show. Best regards, Jonathan
Really wise advice on buying the professional and the reduced. Owned the reduced and was too small for me, when I really wanted the professional but was impatient! Love them both and they both have their charms and idiosyncrasies, and both lovely watches. A very happy 861 early 1990s Speedy Pro owner.
Switching Gears I think we've seen enough of the positives, but I want to see TGV come up with some negatives. Although I love my SKX, I have a few gripes with it; and I'd imagine that the same is true for him.
I just purchased the 3539.50. My wrists are on the smaller end and I really need an automatic movement for my daily. I always wanted the watch but your videos helped me pull the trigger. Love your content!
My Speemaster Reduced has been with me in so many special moments, including my MBA and some of my best rock concerts as a musician on stage. I will keep it for life as my 1960 Les Paul Classic guitar.
Great review. This is the one watch I've had sellers remorse with. I really enjoy the videos posted on this channel, not so its Facebook group which is populated by complicated people.
You made some great points regarding the "Hates" with only one that I don't agree with, but like you said it is a matter of taste, I actually prefer the subdial layout of the reduced, it makes the dial as a whole look more symmetrical, on the professional (despite all the hour markers being perfectly symmetrical) the subdials look squeezed close together and to me it looks like eyes and a mouth of a very fat, round headed man, while the reduced looks like a normal man compared to it - if you can imagine what I am talking about :)
I have been seeing at your videos and enjoying every minute of them. Thank you so much, I think it gives a very different perspective to a social group that's very commonly snobbish. Your videos educate and therefore reduce that, I think. cheers!
Great review TGV! Ive got the reduced as well and keep going back and forth on whether to get the professional, however both the cost and the dimensions keep me from taking the plunge. I just really love how the reduced sits of my 7 inch / 18 cm wrist
As someone who has gone back and forth between the professional and the reduced, I really appreciated and enjoyed this video. It hasn't helped my decision one iota (grin), but I loved it nonetheless. Thanks, TGV!
Thank you Thomas, sometime you just have to experience them all before you find the right fit. Happy hunting my friend. Expensive I know, but at least it's fun! ;-) Best regards, TGV
Ohh.. firstly, u r so very effective in expressing ur views .. Secondly, Even in 2024, I m going ahead to take on a used Speedy Reduced .. I feel, it's a masterpiece in itself.. and not only a sandwich ETA .. Thanks for always an effective portrayal . .. keep it up ..God bless
As an owner of a 3510.10, I agree with many of your likes and dislikes. The point that resonated was about people's snobbery. How much did u spend on a service at a 3rd party watchmaker ? Great video, keep up the good work !
I love this comparison. I too prefer a smaller case and am not a snob when it comes to certain details. I think if you live life worrying about what someone else thinks it's a tragedy...but never mind that discussion. The Speedmaster has been on my radar scope for a while and until this video I never knew about the "reduced version. The Michael Schumacher edition is even better. Thanks for the review and watch wisdom.
Dear The Urban Gentry This review gives me the new understanding of the Speedy Reduced. Thank you! PS. I never knew it before that Dubois-Dépraz 2020 chronograph module is a vertical clutch. Therefore, this show just made my day in some way, some how.
Just ordered a near mint ‘09 3539 with original box and papers from overseas- shipping to the US. Took a while to find this one piece. You played a big role in this decision- thanks for all the great videos on your 3539. Couldn’t have said it better myself regarding your point on the professional vs. the reduced. No doubt could have gone with the professional, but my wrists are on the smaller side and I will enjoy the 3539 so much more. Fit above all else= wearing with more conference and more joy. Thanks again. -Matt
I loved this review! I have the Schumacher reduced in Modena Yellow that preceded your Schumacher, as well as the 2001 Schumacher Racing limited edition with the carbon fiber dial. Thanks for your reviews! I hope you have a very happy holiday season!
Hi TGV Great vid as ever. One minor annoyance with my reduced: Because of the low placement of the crown it's kind of difficult to set it while on the arm. The crown is simply hard to get a hold on. Otherwise I love my Speedmaster, like so many people. The fact that many people own one just can't bother me. There might be a good reason for that😉 Best Regards
I agree with a lot of points, however I have spoken with many experiences watchmakers and none will touch the DD movement inside the reduced. They have all said that they just send it to Omega where the chrono module gets replaced which is very costly
I have a 3511.50 which I got on my wedding day from my step dad and I love it. I am planning to buy his Mitsukoshi (genuine speedmaster professional clone) because they look unreal and I prefer the size.
The Urban Gentry very well thanks chap, hope you are too! I can see the winter clothes are out in force! Very dapper. Surprisingly mild here in Bolton. Same to you, always a pleasure. Ollie.
Always loved the white snoppy professional speedy but the price is more than I'm willing to pay! That flashing screen in the background!!! Always look forward to you videos, great job!
I like the centre seconds ability, the easy winding, the automatic and hacking of the reduced. Sometimes I wish I had something with more wrist presence like if I’m out on the town but the subtle classic size of the reduced suits me better as a daily driver. I’ll never sell it but might buy a different speedy some day. It’s definitely a gateway drug for nice watches.
For long time I thought I was getting the Omega Speedmaster reduced as a gift to myself after I graduated from Uni. Im kinda build like you with small wrists, because I had some wired disease as kid eventhough im a big guy. Any way I got the chance to try one on a few years ago and it was an immediate feel that even the reduced felt too big around my wrist. So I decided to wait a while untill im 100% sure of which watch I want. In the meantime I found an old Omega Military watch in a antique store and bought it for $100 and had it serviced. Now it sits elegantly around my wrist with a black leather strap untill I make up my mind. Any way keep up the good work with your videos.
hi TGV! there no even single review over RUclips about mk40 3820.53 , no one didn't like this watch , I hope it will be in your reviews list, thx for the great video again .
Great review. I as well have owned both the reduced and full size Speedmasters, and I as well have a smallish wrist. I ended up with a full size speedmaster recently on a 1171/1 omega bracelet. I prefer the manual wind and the iconic nature of the larger watch with the lighter bracelet. I’ve also noticed that the sizing is OK on me with long sleeve shirts, which is what I wear 5 days a week. I recently saw a bright yellow dial Speedmaster reduced, and then a blue dial with white Subdials reduced, so I agree that the many dial options on these watches make them a great option... Cheers
Excellent video, TGV! I think the Speedy is one of those watches that every watch enthusiast should experience for a period of their life, since it's one of the most iconic watches along with the Sub and the Navitimer, in my opinion. Actually I like quite a lot the new automatic Racing Speedy. They are 40mm so between the Reduced and the Pro and they add even more fun and variety. I like the grey dial with yellow accents but I do also like a lot the white dial one, I don't know there is something about white dial speedy... Well, wear your speedy in good health my friend! Best regards, Michele.
For sport watches, hacking does make more scene, more so a chronograph. It's nice to see the chrono sec hand runs in sync with the sub sec hand for precision. Also, lateral clutch has more wear and tear, and, need to mentioned that the chrono function should not run continuously. In price comparison, the seiko 8R48 has a column wheel vertical clutch, and, the unique 3 pointed hammer and heart-shaped cam ensures the perfect synchronization of the hands flyback function at pin-point. My srq031 which cost less than 3k has Zaratsu finishing, and, it's accurate to 3 spd. The 2mm protruding glass, interestingly, makes the watch looks compact (30mm dial). The fine soft cordovan straps wears so comfortable. I like this better than my daytona. Just stunning.
Love the vids. I’ve been researching Omega’s to try and get the perfect watch for me as a first time buyer of a high end watch. I have my eye on a used Speedmaster professional. Can you recommend any good sites or companies for me to start searching?
Hi, Many thanks for the response. I also know you're an Oris fan.. I saw you're review on the Divers Sixty-five and wondered what your thought were on the Movember Edition (40mm) which I just bought for my 50th! (my Speedy reduced was my 40th birthday gift!). I was going to get the Oris in the 42mm size, but was way too big for me! BTW I Love your channel.
Hey TGV , I just wanted to say that your videos are awesome. Pretty interesting and helpful. I have a question tough. Do you sleep whit the watch you wore trough out the day? Keep up the good work. Best regards :) From Bulgaria!
I have a speedmaster professional which I wear on a steel bracelet and I adore it. But I also love the automatic reduced and due to its slightly smaller size, I think it looks stunning as a dress watch on a leather strap. I intend to also buy a reduced (maybe one of the limited editions) before they skyrocket in value. TGV - keep wearing your speedie reduced schumie with pride - it's simply stunning and I wish I had one!
That 2 tone is pretty. The variations are what make this an attractive watch (well, among other things of course). I've seen a Japan market one with a pretty blue dial. Nice video - good points all around. Ciao, John
Had many Speedy Pros. I was reluctant to go to the 38mm, but I must say it really wears well on you. I have a small wrist at 6.5mm. I may give one of these a try as I'm finding my taste is going towards smaller watches as I get older
I've always preferred the reduced. It's size and practicality(no need to wind) suits my needs much better. Excellent review, hit all the right points for me. :)
Greetings TGV. Love the videos, but you're killing me with all these Speedmaster Reduced videos. Haha I'm 20 and it's my grail watch. By the time I'm old enough to get one they're going to be worth a fortune.
Edward Gordillo me too! So many watch channels out there have snobby undertones, which is why I always come crawling back to the holy trinity (TGV, Federico and T&H) ... continue keeping it real guys 👍🏼
Great video TGV! Loved the end part where you were talking about snobbery and perception of the reduced. I got similar feedback when I bought and posted a video of my smaller seamaster which I didn't buy because it was cheaper but simply because it looked much more elegant and refined on my wrist. While I think people who assume most of the time mean no harm, it does get quite annoying after while when folks leave comments or remarks such as great watch now you need to sell it and get the real size one ..etc. Once again great video!
TGV even your intros are simply the best man! I’m studying the Omega Moon Watch series. I’m trying to acquire the best watch available for my measly A$4,500. What model can I realistically expect to be able to afford. I want to wear it everyday but I also hope it will prove to be a reasonable investment. Just so impressed with your site
I've got the Speedmaster 44.25mm case version with Co-Axial 9300 Automatic movement and I absolutely love it. If you haven't saw it yet TGV, then you should go over to Omega's site and have a look at the new Speedmaster "Moonphase" it looks gorgeous!
Hi TGV, thank you very much for your honest opinion on the speedy. I acually really like the slighty higher pushers of the reduced! They give it a very unique and special look. Couldn't agree more about the snobbery though...it's so annoying. Keep up the good work my friend. (more than 70k subscribers...crazy! Iam very glad your hard work pays off) Cheers!
Idea for a video - wrist size and stature. You could bring federico on and show viewers why a 45mm doesn't work for yourself and why it does work for federico etc. I also think it's not just wrist size but stature
Absolutely, spot on. In fact I did a video all about this last year. I explained how some watches despite the large diameter work on a variety of wrists and how it's not always about just the diameter. Thank you, Best regards, TGV
Dude, just got a Pro. First 'luxury' piece, loving it. I definitely have an Urban gentry selection... (SKX, SNA411, SMP, Casio Terrorist, Sistem 51...)
What's up TGV! I love the Speedmaster. The Pada looks great, the blk and wht colorway looks really good. The gold is phenomenal but Im a little gawdy like that. I can't forget the Schumey, the different colors make it really versatile and fun. Total Stapmonster! One of my favorite watches I have learned about.
Good Video TGV!! I have to say, in my opinion I think every collection should have an Omega in there!! It would be my first choice of brand over the other Big Boys... so classic!! BMJ ENGLAND!!
kevin mccabe - I also bought myself a Speedy Pro Moonwatch for my 30th. Time to start saving for the Navitimer I'm going to buy for my 40th!! Which version of the Speedy Pro did you go for and why? I went hesalite crystal and solid caseback.
Brendan Fisher - Hi, I chose the traditional run of the mill (if you can call it that) 31130423001005 plexiglass. I've always had a bit of a fascination with space exploration and I thought, what better than the moon watch. It's quite funny you mention the navitimer because when I went to buy the speedmaster I compared it to the navitimer just to make sure I was making the right choice. Haha great minds. How about you? What was your thinking behind it?
The Urban Gentry - Wanted to see what you thought of quartz movements in luxury brands? I think this would be a good idea for a video. Before I looked in to watches so much, I bought myself a Tag Heuer formula one black on black with rubber strap for £950. Now I've looked a bit more in to watches and what I could have got for the same money I feel a bit let down. What do you think? Thanks, Kev
Hi Kevin. Thanks for your reply. I also went for the Hesalite crystal / solid caseback / stainless steel bracelet option because I wanted to stay true to the original. I also felt that this option would be a better investment, although I can never see myself selling it. It was between the Speedmaster and a Breitling Superocean Heritage 42 for me, but the Speedmaster won. I already have too many divers in my collection. My next luxury watch purchase will almost certainly be the Navitimer, although I've never tried one on!
Thank you for an outstanding breakdown, gave me a good understanding of the differences and will certainly inform my search for a birth year watch. Cheers!
Hello Tristano. When i heard you say that you wait to see your date day change i thought this guy loves watches as much as I do, I've done the same many times with mine. Well, for about two months ago I bought a Union Glashütte double date, since that day my small wrist (maybe even smaller than yours) haven't seen any Rolex any Tudor or any Omega.....I really think you should try one you'll be surprised by the feeling of this particular and quite unknown watch. Best regards.
I was blown away by the intro with the combination of watch and coffee, what an epic! The content is very informative and as usual very objective analysis of the Speedmaster by the Gov'nor. I agree with your point on the size and alternative element but I would have preferred if the Reduce have the manual movement that I'm lusting after. The Schumey limited edition is better looking than the professional which I find also too big for my small wrist, but the manual movement is what I want rather than the automatic. I am sure I have seen the manual in 39mm, please correct me if I am wrong. I must admit the limited edition Schumey in the (Ferrari red) dial looked stunning. Thanks for a very well made video and an extraordinary introduction. The TGV hallmark of excellence!!!
I share your sentiments on the alignment of the chrono pushers as well. I feel the crown touching the surface of my wrist n can be uncomfortable sometimes. The chrono pushers are slightly above the crown becos the watch has a Dubois Depraz 2020 chrono module sandwiched onto the ETA based movement. My Speedmaster reduced is the older version. Bought it since 2003 n it has the thinner clasp. I like your two reviews of this watch👍
Hello! You really made me love this edition of the watch and i am asking, is there a chance i can get a new one of this speedmaster reduced schumacher edition? and if not, where can i find trusted and good condition pre-owned one? Thanks very much for the video anyway :)
Great vid TGV as always, very honest and on point, love my reduced, got the two tone, gets more wrist time than my Rolex Datejust, its quite dressy too, best wishes Dee
The Urban Gentry yep around 6 months ago, was one of my first videos on youtube, makes me gringe everytime I watch it lol so bad, featured it recently in my latest Edc vid with the reduced, Tgv please do an Edc vid, would love to see your kit, cheers Dee
Thank for all of your videos, they are great!! I have a smaller wrist as well so I've been on a search through about 10 of your videos for a video where you say your wrist size but I've given up haha so, what is your wrist size?? Thanks!!
What is your wrist size TGV? I have been considering the Speedmaster Pro but my wrist measures only 6.5 inches so I feel it may be a tad big for me. I don't have much for a reference since my only other 42mm watch (Seiko Flightmaster) wears small.
Just acquired a speedmaster Mk40 39mm. It is my 1st luxury watch purchase. I've been told there is reliability issues with the movement. Can you elaborate on this?
Hi TGV, I'm not a big fan of the Speedmaster, because in my opinion the dial is to cluttered. But the Reduced with its 38 mm dial, would be my choice if I have to decide between both models. Best regards, Claus
You and me both!!! The good old days eh?! Nice, I wish I scooped them all up, imagine selling them off now!!! Cha-ching! Thank you Mark, Best regards, TGV
I agree with you, TGV: both the two-tone and the 18 carat solid gold reduced Speedmaster are a very "cool" looking watch. Personally, after having viewed this video and recalling various bits of information you've given in the past regarding the Speedmaster reduced, I am more inclined to own this design rather than the larger version of the wristwatch. Too bad the reduced is no longer manufactured. Great video, as always, TGV.
I have small wrists, probably around 6.5", and the 42mm Professional doesn't wear big. I had the reduced and felt it was too small. The lugs are semi curved on both models, so it hugs the wrist well.
Interesting, I have 6.25 wrist and the reduced feels just right, funny how that tiny amount makes such a difference. The professional, despite the curved lugs never sat well on my wrist sadly. Thank you Byron for sharing, enjoy your speedy! Best regards, TGV
The Urban Gentry another great video and perfect timing. I have wanted a speedy for some time and am considering one after Christmas to go with my explorer 1 36mm but can't decide on pro vs reduced. My wrist is around 6.5" and having tried the pro it feels right at the limit in terms of size/overhang and thickness. I have no way to try a reduced beforehand. Any thoughts or recommendations.
Richie Gribbons I realize you're asking his opinion, but I thought I would provide mine -- feel free to ignore it, if you choose -- I feel that there is a significant face size differential between the reduced and the pro -- where it was sometimes difficult to read the chronograph on the reduced -- that isn't a problem at all on the Pro. Also the pro benefits from an easier to use crown -- the Crown on the reduced can be tight -- which makes it difficult to pop out, which you will do because it is a self-wind, not a manual winding watch. The clasp on the reduced comes in two flavours -- one that is just a click clasp, and the other which has a push button release. The push button clasp comes with the Sapphire crystal reduced. The click clasp comes standard with the hesalite crystal (which is the traditional domed crystal which is traditional on speedmasters) Lume is significantly better on the professional -- but that's often because many reduced speed masters are older and the lume has faded. Vintage Pros likely suffer the same problem.
Great video I didn't know the reduced had a vertical coupling to actuate the chronograph. Is there a Swiss castle (column wheel) in there as well ? Asking because you noted it is a thin watch and vertical couplings and Swiss castles make for thicker chronograph when compared to horizontal cam actuated chronographs! The triple date 3520.50 Valjoux 1151/eta 7751 that I own has the cam actuated chronograph and I want a Vertical coupling chronograph in my collection now I know where to look. Thanks TGV
Hello Tristano! I love your content!. So i'm grabbing a Speedmaster Professional for Christmas. I just love the design of this series. My question is, which model should i get, the Sapphire cristal version or the Hesalite version? Thanks!
Hello Tristano, please excuse the off-topic question, but I just have to ask: Where did you get the Milanaise strap from you used on your Seiko video on the SKX, the Navitimer in your Top 5 Love and Hate vid, and if I remember correctly, the Squale later? What is its name? I just have to buy it. Great video as always by the way. Kind regards from Germany
What do you think about the Broad Arrow models from the early 2000's? I am really considering picking one up but man have these gone up in price! Such a beautiful watch and I love the look much much more then the professional models. I can't make up my mind to either throw close to 3k on the BA or go for the Speedmaster Date Chronograph 3211.31.00 Panda with the 1152 for a grand less. Any thoughts would be appreciated, regards.
Ciao, I love all your videos.... maybe you get this question so many times: I'm planning to buy a Moonwatch, now the dilemma is with one!! I love exhibition case back but not really the crystal thickness in the front. Which one do you suggest? REF,005 or REF,006 thank you , GRAZIE
Important to remember that the 42mm version is really only 42mm because of what amounts to the "long" crown guards. Take that away and it's basically the 39.7mm version and doesn't really wear all that differently IMHO.
Thank you John, I found it to be too large fore me but I agree for a 42 it is not that large, specially compared to some other 42mm pieces I have also owned in the past. Best regards, TGV

Just recently bought one of these. Stoped the video once the cons started😂

I want to see your loves and hates of the SKX.
We've seen enough of that watch lol
Haha, already shot part of it. Should be up before Xmas ;-)
Great minds eh ;-)
Thank you,

I think we've seen enough of the positives, but I want to see TGV come up with some negatives. Although I love my SKX, I have a few gripes with it; and I'd imagine that the same is true for him.
Great idea.
that video should only 10 secs long because we know you love the SKX there is nothing wrong with it.
I just purchased the 3539.50. My wrists are on the smaller end and I really need an automatic movement for my daily. I always wanted the watch but your videos helped me pull the trigger. Love your content!

MBA. Wow!
Great review. This is the one watch I've had sellers remorse with. I really enjoy the videos posted on this channel, not so its Facebook group which is populated by complicated people.
I just bought a Omega Speedmaster Japanese Racing Dial, its now in Sydney at an Omega boutique getting complete overhaul and qualified check by Omega.
You made some great points regarding the "Hates" with only one that I don't agree with, but like you said it is a matter of taste, I actually prefer the subdial layout of the reduced, it makes the dial as a whole look more symmetrical, on the professional (despite all the hour markers being perfectly symmetrical) the subdials look squeezed close together and to me it looks like eyes and a mouth of a very fat, round headed man, while the reduced looks like a normal man compared to it - if you can imagine what I am talking about :)
heya tristano, as someone with small wrists, its always really great watching your reviews! thanks and keep up with the good work!
Your articulation and level of detail is amazing!

Ohh.. firstly, u r so very effective in expressing ur views ..
Secondly, Even in 2024, I m going ahead to take on a used Speedy Reduced ..
I feel, it's a masterpiece in itself.. and not only a sandwich ETA ..
Thanks for always an effective portrayal
. .. keep it up ..God bless
As an owner of a 3510.10, I agree with many of your likes and dislikes. The point that resonated was about people's snobbery. How much did u spend on a service at a 3rd party watchmaker ? Great video, keep up the good work !
Just bought a schumacher reduced 2001 limited edition. Love the watch.
Thank you for introducing me to the 'reduced' . Never seen one at the usual dealers.
Very glad to hear, there is a ton of them online, happy hunting.
Thank you :D
Best regards,
TGV

EXCELLENT COMMENT!!! Spot on my friend.
Thank you Tim,

He's the type of guy will get perfection on watches but drinks instant coffee :D haha
Dear The Urban Gentry
This review gives me the new understanding of the Speedy Reduced. Thank you!
PS. I never knew it before that Dubois-Dépraz 2020 chronograph module is a vertical clutch. Therefore, this show just made my day in some way, some how.

The "FOIS" is my grail. Saving every day! Excellent video as always!
Thank you Kyle, a VERY worthy grail indeed. Keep at it my friend, it's worth it.
Best regards,
TGV
I loved this review! I have the Schumacher reduced in Modena Yellow that preceded your Schumacher, as well as the 2001 Schumacher Racing limited edition with the carbon fiber dial. Thanks for your reviews! I hope you have a very happy holiday season!
Hi TGV
Great vid as ever.
One minor annoyance with my reduced: Because of the low placement of the crown it's kind of difficult to set it while on the arm. The crown is simply hard to get a hold on.
Otherwise I love my Speedmaster, like so many people. The fact that many people own one just can't bother me. There might be a good reason for that😉
Best Regards
Yes! Agreed - Speedy reduced is a great watch and is a real Speedmaster - well said.
Great video. I really notice that you put very much effort in every video.:)
More and more the speedy speaks to me. Great vid as always Teeg'
Many thanks,
Ollie.
Thank you Ollie, hope you are well my friend, always great to hear from you.

Thank you Rick, great choice, love the Snoopy too.

I’ll never sell it but might buy a different speedy some day. It’s definitely a gateway drug for nice watches.
I just got the reduced automatic with sapphire glass! gonna be a dailywear for many many years
For long time I thought I was getting the Omega Speedmaster reduced as a gift to myself after I graduated from Uni.
Best regards,
Michele.
I love your Speedmaster and I loved your video. Great job Tristano
Thanks for talking in depth about the reduced.
Great Video! very informative. I love my Speedy reduced. It is the perfect fit for my wrist. An underrated watch IMO
Thank you Marcus, so glad to hear and I could not agree more about the Reduced.
Wear it with pride!
Best regards,
TGV
Hi, Many thanks for the response. I also know you're an Oris fan.. I saw you're review on the Divers Sixty-five and wondered what your thought were on the Movember Edition (40mm) which I just bought for my 50th! (my Speedy reduced was my 40th birthday gift!). I was going to get the Oris in the 42mm size, but was way too big for me! BTW I Love your channel.
Hey TGV ,
I just wanted to say that your videos are awesome.
Haha, thank you!
As for smaller watches, me too!
Thank you,
Best regards,
TGV
I've always preferred the reduced. It's size and practicality(no need to wind) suits my needs much better. Excellent review, hit all the right points for me. :)
Thank you Daniel, keep enjoying your speedy!
Best regards,
TGV
Greetings TGV. Love the videos, but you're killing me with all these Speedmaster Reduced videos. Haha I'm 20 and it's my grail watch. By the time I'm old enough to get one they're going to be worth a fortune.
i loved the honesty about snobbery! Great video TGV. (:
Thank you Edward :D
Best regards,
TGV
Edward Gordillo me too! So many watch channels out there have snobby undertones, which is why I always come crawling back to the holy trinity (TGV, Federico and T&H) ... continue keeping it real guys 👍🏼
vishy I would also include J. Anthony in his stance against snobbery.
Hi TGV,
thank you very much for your honest opinion on the speedy. I acually really like the slighty higher pushers of the reduced! They give it a very unique and special look. Couldn't agree more about the snobbery though...it's so annoying.
Keep up the good work my friend. (more than 70k subscribers...crazy! Iam very glad your hard work pays off)
Cheers!
Great video. Just bought my first luxury watch 1998 3510.50 for university graduation gift to myself from the Japanese market! Cheers!
Thank you,
Best regards,
TGV
Hello nice review, wanted to know your wrist circumference and wrist span
Dude, just got a Pro. First 'luxury' piece, loving it. I definitely have an Urban gentry selection... (SKX, SNA411, SMP, Casio Terrorist, Sistem 51...)
LOL "Casio Terroist".
Love the line up, pure class all the way.
Thank you my friend, enjoy those watches, pure class.
Best regards,
TGV
Hey TGV - do you know it there is any problem keeping the chrono hand at 6 o clock? I like the look of it.
Thank you SN, very glad to hear my friend.
Best regards,
TGV
Good Video TGV!! I have to say, in my opinion I think every collection should have an Omega in there!! It would be my first choice of brand over the other Big Boys... so classic!! BMJ ENGLAND!!
Got a speedmaster pro for my 30th, I love it and wear it every day.
Fantastic, what a great watch for your 30th, pure class.
Thank you Kevin,
Best regards,
TGV
kevin mccabe - I also bought myself a Speedy Pro Moonwatch for my 30th.
Cheers!
Thank you Darren, very kind.
Best regards,
TGV
Thank you Dee, too kind sir!
Will have to check out your DJ, did you review it?
Best regards,
TGV
The Urban Gentry yep around 6 months ago, was one of my first videos on youtube, makes me gringe everytime I watch it lol so bad, featured it recently in my latest Edc vid with the reduced, Tgv please do an Edc vid, would love to see your kit, cheers Dee
Always love your word choices. True gentleman 👌🏻
Can you elaborate on this?
excellent video TGV! i think that we all love the speedy too much lol... nothing to hate about it... keep the good work! cheers!!!
Hi TGV,
I'm not a big fan of the Speedmaster, because in my opinion the dial is to cluttered. But the Reduced with its 38 mm dial, would be my choice if I have to decide between both models.
Best regards,
Claus
I have the panda one! Great watch
Great job TGV!👍🏻😃
Thank you sir! :D
Best regards,
TGV
man ...i remember when it was easy to get a reduced from japan for under 1000
You and me both!!! The good old days eh?!
Nice, I wish I scooped them all up, imagine selling them off now!!! Cha-ching!
Thank you Mark,
Best regards,
TGV
Mark Palma STOP IT......You'll make me cry
I agree with you, TGV: both the two-tone and the 18 carat solid gold reduced Speedmaster are a very "cool" looking watch. Personally, after having viewed this video and recalling various bits of information you've given in the past regarding the Speedmaster reduced, I am more inclined to own this design rather than the larger version of the wristwatch. Too bad the reduced is no longer manufactured. Great video, as always, TGV.
Miss that old intros....bring it up again in your newer videos.
Another great video. What kind of pomade do you use if I may ask?
Thank you, I use a a clear (hard holding) gel from L'Oreal.
Best regards,
TGV
I have small wrists, probably around 6.5", and the 42mm Professional doesn't wear big. I had the reduced and felt it was too small. The lugs are semi curved on both models, so it hugs the wrist well.
Interesting, I have 6.25 wrist and the reduced feels just right, funny how that tiny amount makes such a difference.
The professional, despite the curved lugs never sat well on my wrist sadly.
Thank you Byron for sharing, enjoy your speedy!
Best regards,
TGV
The click clasp comes standard with the hesalite crystal (which is the traditional domed crystal which is traditional on speedmasters)
Lume is significantly better on the professional -- but that's often because many reduced speed masters are older and the lume has faded. Vintage Pros likely suffer the same problem.
Byron, thanks for reply, I'm grateful for any views I can get.
The Urban Gentry what about the 40 mm version? I have 6.7” inch wrist. I wonder if that’s the ideal size for my wrist.
6 3/4 wrist. Which one?
Thanks!
El planeta esta lleno de imbeciles.
Hello Tristano,
please excuse the off-topic question, but I just have to ask: Where did you get the Milanaise strap from you used on your Seiko video on the SKX, the Navitimer in your Top 5 Love and Hate vid, and if I remember correctly, the Squale later? What is its name? I just have to buy it. Great video as always by the way.
Kind regards from Germany
What do you think about the Broad Arrow models from the early 2000's? I am really considering picking one up but man have these gone up in price! Such a beautiful watch and I love the look much much more then the professional models. I can't make up my mind to either throw close to 3k on the BA or go for the Speedmaster Date Chronograph 3211.31.00 Panda with the 1152 for a grand less. Any thoughts would be appreciated, regards.
Very nice video made by a very elegant gentleman.
It seems I just might to re buy the speedy...... great video. cheers.
Haha, Thank you Ana, I hope you find one that brings as much enjoyment as they have for me.
Happy hunting,
Best regards,
TGV
nice shot. please, don't forget to review the Omega Planet Ocean Master CoAxial. :)
If the professional is big, what about the 9300? That would be an interesting watch to review, especially by you😀 Thanks in advance if you'd consider.
Great video!
is there anything you don't do right? lavazzo over a gas stove in brooklyn queens with goldberg variations on guitar.
I love this watch great video tgv keep up the good work
Thank you Aidan :D
Best regards,
TGV
yesssssss love this watch and I'd like to buy one soon, thanks for the video, i can't get enough of this watch!
I take it from your name you are into cars, so perfect for you!
Happy hunting.
Best regards,
TGV
Tristano, what Japanese sites/dealers do you suggest dealing with when looking for a reduced?
Important to remember that the 42mm version is really only 42mm because of what amounts to the "long" crown guards. Take that away and it's basically the 39.7mm version and doesn't really wear all that differently IMHO.
Thank you John, I found it to be too large fore me but I agree for a 42 it is not that large, specially compared to some other 42mm pieces I have also owned in the past.
Best regards,
TGV
I do think it wears smaller on a strap or NATO....which is how I will wear mine once I purchase it! :)
