Yeah I tried that earlier in the process and unfortunately that did not work for my issue… but I did see this mentioned on a few forums as a potential solution.
Seen and repaired many like this, if it's just plain dead, black screen with no life at all (or sometimes dead like this and sometimes working), its the processor on the main circuit board. This is not serviceable by the average or even intermediate hands on tech, and requires replacement of the large BGA processor by an experienced car audio service tech. We do them around once a month here in NZ, mostly on Japanese spec units, and are the same on all these IS units (and GS) for all world regions usually.

The AC still works (though temp cant be adjusted unless the screen is working) and the audio buttons also work. Would you advise the repair that you have suggested? And if so, how much does it typically cost when you have these come in? Thank you
My friends display was working when he bought it used but the display just stopped functioning one day out of no where. I’ll definitely give this a try and hope for the best! Thanks for sharing and I hope there’s a part two on the solution to fixing it if the fuses isn’t the problem!
@@lcameeno1 if the screen is black and the buttons on the unit are not working unfortunately the entire unit is bad and will need to be replaced. If the display is still on just not adaptive to touch then you would replace the digitizer
Unfortunately, I am on the same boat. Did check all the fuses and even changed all that are related to, still no luck. I may have to replace mine also.
Hey guys, before y'all replace your strings and your car turn the car off. Put three fingers on the screen and hold it. Then while your fingers is touching the screen, turn the car on. It should go into calibration mode and should be an x and the top left corner and then in the right bottom corner. Try that and before replacing and let me know how it worked out
That is good advice… I tried the calibration prior to the fuses but unfortunately I had no luck… I hope that it works for others though! Thanks for sharing
@@cjmilly5727 For the fuses, I paid les that $50, for the inspection I paid for about a 1/2 hour of labor… around $100 bucks and I never actually replaced the unit… but Amazon has some pretty affordable units.

Sounds like you’ve traveled down the path of the most common fixes already… Sounds like a replacement unit might be in your future… but if you find a fix (short of replacing the unit) I’d love to hear about it! Thanks for watching

Hi Detrone, I have a similar problem on es350 2009. My display and buttons aren't working, but the radio does. Changing fuses didn't work, I also thought it could be an alternator- bad diode, but seems it is not an issue. Checked my wiring behind the display and was also good. Seems it is also the display. Let me know how things are going with you. There are two options for display: old used one, or new from aliexpress. Please Let me know which one you decided to go.

I would advise you not to disconnect your batter or pull any of your fuses lol... Mine was working with a blank screen for a long time until I decided the disconnect he battery and check fuses ... It was over after that 🤦🏽♂️
And all white screen might mean you can do a "soft reset" or calibration of the screen possibly. I've seen a few people do the calibration method on RUclips but it did not work for me (but my screen was completely black). Cheaper… Maybe but the physical buttons for the Ac and additional controls do not work, and the other controls are in the display. Most of the cheap Apple play units aren’t going to be compatible with AC control for this unit. It might work for just getting the radio working.

If you could give me any info on my situation I would be so grateful, the touch screen on my 08 is350 suddenly stopped working, it responds to touch on the map but that's it, no response on AC audio info display only touching the screen in the map, it starts up like normal, only my auto ac button controls the air (high) and it's worked fine up till the date of this message, it's been hot as hell today and the car was a tad hotter than normal, I have on the fly diagnostics, turned off AC to bring temp from 195 back down to 186 through town till getting on the highway and that's when I found it not working except the auto ac. Any thoughts? I tried getting it in diagnostic mode and screen still wouldn't respond to touch, only map

As a repairer of these units, I can help you with this one, even though you may have solved it already, but for any other viewers, the fault you're describing is a touch panel (or digitizer) fault. On the map screen you will hear a beep recognizing touch, but no other functions working with the panel. Get your local audio repair shop to replace the digitizer for you.

@@JMNYC_ 😂… Well my suggestion would be don’t disconnect your battery, because my radio and AC controls worked with a blank screen until I disconnected my battery… then none of it worked ever again lol.
Sounds like you’ve had some “not so great” experiences with Lexus… I feel a bit different. I’ve owned a few and for me they have been fairly reliable vehicles, with low maintenance cost (in general) … but they do have their quirks

I have the same issue on my 2016 RC 200t. Display went on when my battery died. Every works Bluetooth, radio, audio and AC. Except the display and rear camera. I've been without visuals for about 4 months already. Worse case scenario I'll take it to the dealership when I go maintenance. Good lookin out on spreading awareness on this issue or issues. I thought I was alone out here 😂. Alright then ✌🏿
You are definitely not alone... this seems to be an unfortunate but common occurrence with this generation of Lexus models... I didn't;t realize the defect was happening all the way through 2016, but I hope you can get some resolution for yours before it gets worse and you loss other functionality. Thanks for watching also!

i had this issue with my 06 is 350 i had to replace the head unit that was my solution and it fixed everything
That’s what the technician friend that I took it to told me as well. Since the fuses didn’t work, it was probably the head unit that went out.

Fuses are a simple troubleshooting method to do first… it could save you from having to replace the unit

Cheaper… Maybe but the physical buttons for the Ac and additional controls do not work, and the other controls are in the display. Most of the cheap Apple play units aren’t going to be compatible with AC control for this unit.
It might work for just getting the radio working.

Try checking the tv 1 fuse under the drivers footwell
